Basic interaction 'standalone player' Flash Lite

I am trying to create a simple interactive menu with Flash
Lite.
(for example a click on a soft key will bring a blue full
screen frame....)
I am a beginner when it comes to cell phone content, but I
understand that it is doable with flash lite. Thing is my Nokia
device (6131) is not in the device list of the flash menu, and I am
unable to upload to the device flash applications. (I can upload
swf if it's a wallpaper but then i loose the interactivity)
My question is; if I will have a device that is in the
'device list' of Flash Lite, will I then be able to upload the swf
as a standalone application? am I doing the right thing?
another question is, other then the Adobe sites, where can I
find more example files in the subject of basic interactive menus
for Nokia?

The latest device profile update from Adobe included the
6131, but a particular phone doesn't need to have a profile in the
emulator for you to be able to develop for it.
Once you've connected your 6131 with your PC (either via the
USB cable or bluetooth), you can browse the phone's file system via
My Computer if you have the Nokia PC Suite installed, and can copy
a swf to whatever folder is available. You can then find that
folder via the 'Gallery' menu option on the phone and run the swf,
which will run in standalone mode.

  • I am trying to figure out which Adobe Flash Player/Flash Lite to download for my Blackberry 8230

I am trying to be able to play games on my Blackberry 8230 and I do not know which Adobe Flash Player/Flash Lite to download.  I would appreciate any assistance to this question as soon as possible.
    I need help!

AFAIK, there is currently no support for Flashplayer on the Blackberry. Word at MAX was that future RIM devices will support flashplayer 10.1

  • Learning to Make Basic Interactive Site

I want to learn to make a basic interactive site with Flash.
My ultimate goal is to design a portfolio website including video
and graphic design samples, but I want to start by learning how to
make a basic interactive site. I know the basics of drawing and
animating in Flash 5, but I don't know how to make Flash
interactive. I don't even know where to start on creating a website
in Flash. All I'm asking for is a starting point. Any help would be
    appreciated. Thanks.

    Oh, thanks for the compliment.
But i still feel like a beginner. Flash is a fantastic
program and its possibilities are mind-boggling.
Maybe 2 or 3 years ive been playing around with flash. Not
enough as i would like to however. I havent "trained" or anything
though. I did buy a couple of books but, to be honest they were a
waste of money. Everything you need is to be found on the web.
My template? Well, i just made a sample site and decided to
turn it into a template. Changing the text to xml text and trying
to make life easy for anyone who wanted to buy it. Im just testing
the water and these are early days.
Funnily enough I remember a couple of years back seeing one
of the templates on templatemonster and thinking "Wow! i wanna do
that!". But i quickly realised what a task that was and just
    plodded along making sites.
I couldnt even begin to explain how to make the site though,
it would be like writing a book. Believe me id love to able to tell
you exactly how to acomplish your task.
Like ive said earlier, maybe your best bet is to get hold of
a free flash template, just a simple one, and open it up and have a
    poke around.
    Hope this helps
    Cheers

  • Querying a Flash Lite content type running in the player

In the current Flash Lite specs, it's not possible to query
    the content
type that is running from within the Flash Lite player
    (wallpaper,
    screensaver, standalone, etc).
    My questions:
1.) Is this something that can be (easily) implemented in the
    next rev
of Flash Lite? I can think of a few use cases where this
    might be
    (potentially) useful.
Basically, this would allow for a detect mechanism, and thus
    provide a
way to disable or enable functionality within content based
    on how it is
being run (based on the content-type detected).
For example, if FL content is run as a screensaver, no custom
    softkey
navigation would appear. However, if run as standalone
    content, a custom
UI might appear ... say giving the user the option to quit,
    get more
    info, etc.
I am posting here to see if others would be interested in
    such
    functionality.
2.) From my tests, I don't think the FL content type is
    inserted into
the Flash Lite SWF header, but can it be? Injecting meta data
    into SWF's
is tricky business ... does it make sense to add this
    functionality in
the next rev of Flash Lite? ... again, this info might be
    useful in some
content use cases, which tie back to #1.
    Thoughts?
    -sj

I could see some strong potential FL improvements by opening
this door. This could be very useful in the sense that developers
could then #include a single .as file that would act as a master
    library regardless of content type.
Another feature that ties into this that I would love would
be FL version detection. Granted, this file could sort of be
created with FS2 command detection. But still, creating one library
file that covers all user input methods would be very nice.
To take this a step further, could this also detect what
edition a phone is? Again, this could be done with via a
WURFL, but that is a huge
pain (not to mention memory intensive). It would be sweet if my
code could (simply) detect a 3rd edition series 60 Nokia and
automatically build in controls for screen rotation and soft key
    repositioning.
To sum up, I agree with you Scott. Btw—nice to see you
    in the forums.

  • Flash Lite 2.0 Content in Flash Player not loading PNGs

    Hi,
    I have a Flash Lite 2.0 Application, that I'm running on a
Phone. I'm loading local PNG files, which works on the phone and in
the emulator. The problem is as soon as I run the SWF from Flash
Player on my PC it's not working. It seems like it's not able to
load those PNGs, because it's acting like Flash Player 7 (because
Flash Lite 2.0 is basically Flash 7), even though I have Flash
    Player 9 installed.
    Anybody has any hints?
    thanks,
    M

Yes, thare are alternatives. Adobe has licensed 03 companies
to provide Flash Lite content for the Verizon network. These
companies are certified to delivery games, apps, screensavers, and
such using Flash Lite for BREW and they aggregate developer's
content. You can check details at:
    Verizon">http://www.adobe.com/devnet/devices/verizon.html[L=Verizon

  • OTA of Flash Lite Player doesn't work for HTC Touch Pro 2

When I tried to run a Flash Lite app in HTC Touch Pro 2, it asked for Flash Lite player to run it. I clicked Yes. It returned a message: Adobe Flash Lite is not available for this device. OTA installation didn't work in this case. I then manually installed the standalone player and it installed successfully. My operator is Telstra in Australia.

    Hi,
Your device will not be detected because it is unsupported by the detection server.  Of course the manual installation is possible but right now we are certifying devices that can be supported.
You can see the supported devices here, needless to say however we are working on a plan to expand this set:

  • Fscommand2 "shuts down" flash lite player 2.1 in S60 3rd Edition

    Hello.
I am having the following problem in nokia phones S60 3rd
    edition:
when I have a j2me midlet running in the background and open
a swf that executes: fscommand2("GetSignalLevel") it automatically
closes the flash lite player. This has happened in phones that come
with the 1.1 player but that I have installed 2.1 and confirmed
that the swf was running in the 2.1 player. I also tried other
fscommand2 and they worked well (GetMaxSignalLevel, GetBatteryLevel
    and GetMaxBatteryLevel).
Is this a known problem? Does it have a solution?
    Thanks in advance

    Ciao Pieter,
in few days Adobe will release for free the FL 2.1 player to
developers for several platforms, Brew, Windows Mobile 5 and
Symbian, which includes 3rd edition. As far as the type of player,
    is probably the standalone.

  • Flash Lite Interaction with JavaScript

    Hi,
I try to call SetVariable() from javascript to Flash Lite 2.1
(WM2005 - PIE), the function is undefined.
Do you know a way to pass variables to Flash?
    Thanks
    Alain

To my knowledge, Flash Lite 2.1 for Windows Mobile is only
available to developers as a standalone player not as an activeX
control for PIE. The standalone would not be integrated with the
browser and would not respond to javascript.
Are you sure you are using Flash Lite 2.1 or are you using
Flash 7 ActiveX for PPC types of devices?

  • Getting Big Headache, What is difference between Flash Lite 3.1 and Flash Player 7

Hello, I am asking questions about the two similar yet different programs for Pocket PC version only:
    1) Which came first, Flash Lite 3.1 or Flash Player 7?
    2) If I have both in my Pocket PC, will there be product incompatibility?
    3) What is the difference between Flash Lite 3.1 and Flash Player 7.
    4) I have a Flash Lite 3.1 but uninstall information says "Flash Lite 3.1 for Opera Mobile", did you releaase this? Is this an illegal copy? A developer's copy?
*I don't know exactly where I got it, but I got it from the HTC developer's forum: XDA-developers.com
*I also use Opera mobile, a web browser for Pocket PC's.
    5) What is difference between Flash Lite 3.1 and Flash Lite 3.1 for Opera? Is the only difference is that Flash Lite Supports everything flash related, while Flash Lite Opera supports only flash in opera?
Hi, I don't expect all answers, but I hope someone or someone from adobe support can clear some things up for me.

The program under my "remove programs" list is specifically called "Adobe Flash Lite for Opera". The XDA forums people said along time ago that it was Flash Lite, and kept calling it Flash Lite, and not Flash Player 7.
    Now what about this:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flashlite/version/
The table shows the differences between FP 7 SDK, FL 2.1, and FL 3.1. And it's quite obvious that FL 3.1 has way more features than Flash Player 7. What does SDK mean? And why are you telling me FP 7 has more features?
With this information, can you or anyone else provide any more details and clarification?

  • Problem purchasing Flash Lite 2 Player

    Hi Adobe,
I'm from the Philippines, South East Asia and I want to
purchase a Flash Lite 2 Player. My Adobe ID also says that I'm from
    the Philippines.
I went to Adobe Store - Asia Pacific (International). I
supplied the IMEI number, Handset and Phone Model. Upon clicking
Secure Checkout, it gives me this error message:
The account using [email protected] was registered for
Philippines. Please sign in using an existing account for this
country, or create a new account.
I dont think I did something wrong in the process. Why is the
Philippines not in the lists of Store Countries? Please help.
    Thanks!
    Jon

Sorry, I am not Adobe, Im jon in Japan, and I too have had
problems purchasing FlashLite2 from USA. I think you would need to
make a new account to purchase the FL2 BUT your address sets you up
as being in Philippines. It may be impossible for you to purchase
it Unless you contact usa adobe in the USA by phone.
The reason your country is not listed is because there are no
phones that accept FL2? If you DO have a phone that accepts FL2,
then it could be a licensing issue in the pacific region. I
recommend that you call USA adobe for this issue and explain to
them that you are a developer.

  • Best Practices: Flash Player 10.1 and Flash Lite 4

I've found the documentation for Flash Lite 4.  It appears to support most everything you'd want to do in AS3, aside from some desktop-specific APIs like Clipboard, File, ContextualMenu, etc..
I've also noticed that there's a Flash Lite 4 compile target in Flash CS5.  Would it be considered a best-practice to target Flash Lite 4 instead of Flash Player 10 for web content?  (Obviously, desktoppy web apps would still need to be compiled for 10).

    TJ,
Thanks for your great feedback and your kind words.  I'll certainly be making sure the team sees your comments, though I can't say we'll have 10.1 in place for you by Monday.
    Thanks

  • Flash Lite & Video Player on Mobile Devices

    Hello,
Does anyone know what mobile devices support videos through a
Flash player? I know there is limited support based on device, but
was wondering if anyone knows a source of specifics in relation to
    the new Flash Lite 2.x.

    Alessandro,
does that mean that 6120 Classic owners will be stuck with
Flash lite 2.0 forever ? or is it possible that we can install
future versions of Flash lite ? I bought my 6120 Classic last week,
after seeing the Flyer Framework. I need Xml sockets for a mobile
version of an web application I wrote. i can't imagine having to
buy a new device... what's your guess ? stuck with FL 2.0 ?
    thanks,

  • Flash lite player 3.1

    Hi all,
I am very impressed by the new flash lite player. I can't
wait to start some tests, etc.
But, I have Flash CS4 and... where can I get the player for
my Nokia ? All the download links I found are for:
Flash Lite 3.0 Update for Flash CS3 Pro and Device Central
    CS3, etc.
But where is the player itself ?
I want to install it on my Nokia 7610... where ?
    Thanks for your answers

    @
    Fenryll
    Here's the player itself:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/distributableplayer.html
The last link at the bottom is the one for the Flash Lite 3.1
    Distributable Player for Nokia S60.
    dannyochjr_06
    There's no such thing.
Some S40 Nokia devices have a Flash Player built-in; however
the only way to update it is doing a Firmware Update.
In some devices you can do it yourself (as long as you have
the data cable); for older devices you'll need to take it to a
Nokia Care (Service Center) and they'll do it for you. Keep in mind
that Firmware Update does not necessarily updates the Flash Player
in your device. Also, if your device does not have the Flash
Player, then most likely a firmware update will not add such
    feature.

  • Need standalone Adobe Flash Player 11.2 for Mac

For some reason, the Adobe Flash standalone player automatically updated to 11.4 and now I can't play my special .swf files. The documentation for my files says it can only run on 11.2, 10.3 doesn't work either. So could somebody help me find the standalone (offline) version of ADP 11.2 for Mac. I've been searching days on google but I couldn't find it.

Go to http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html and download fp_11.2.202.235_archive.zip; it contains the Mac standalone player flashplayer11_2r202_235_mac_sa.app.zip
