Basic internet config for t1 incoming wan

what would be a basic internet config on a t1 wic w/ a public ip and two fast ethernet ports? 1841 router. i'm trying to write up a checklist of everthing the config should accommodate so i don't leave anything out.

hello johnny,
sample config of a T1 is as below:
Interface serial 0/0
service-module t1 clock source internal
service-module t1 timeslots 1-24 speed 64
service-module t1 framing esf
service-module t1 linecode b8zs
ip address 10.1.1.1 255.255.255.0
encapsulation ppp
fair-que
no shut
make sure the framing and linecode are configured right. check this with the ISP... if your LAN is on a private range, you also might need to do a NAT/PAT over the T1 interface.. for NAT examples refer to the CCO. you also need a default route to the outside towards the t1 interface...
Hope this helps.. all the best. rate replies if found useful..

  • New to Internet Sales for ERP - Few basic questions.

    Hi,
We are going to implement Internet Sales for ERP and I have some questions.
    1) Is Product Catalog Mandatory for implementing Internet Sales for ERP / R3?
    2) We are already using MDM for catalog and we are not the Product Catalog module in R3. Will there be a problem implementing MDM into ISA? Has anyone implemented ISA with MDM as product catalog?
    3) We are planning to make it an extra-net application; what is the best architecture placement of the ISA server? Should we have it in DMZ or outside DMZ. What is the best approach among option a and b?
    a) Web Browser (Internet) -- External Firewall -- Webserver + ISA server -- Internal Firewall -- ERP
    b) Web Browser (Internet) -- External Firewall -- Webserver -- Internal Firewall -- ISA server + ERP
    Please Enlighten.
    Thanks,
    Deepak

    Hello Deepak,
    1) Is Product Catalog Mandatory for implementing Internet Sales for ERP / R3?
Catalog is an independent piece of feature and integrated to the basket (or the selling process). You can hide the internal catalog by a switch in the Shopadmin XCM administration - Catalog tab._But_ you may still need a catalog (internal) for reading variant data. However, no replication is required.
    2) We are already using MDM for catalog and we are not the Product Catalog module in R3. Will there be a problem implementing MDM into ISA? Has anyone implemented ISA with MDM as product catalog?
ISA works with external catalogs with ease. All you need is to make use of the Open catalog Interface (OCI) feature. After all, OCI is a SAP technology, and all its products must be capable of understanding it. Isn't it? SAP MDM catalog is OCI enabled.
    (b)
    Please Enlighten.
Let there be light - Funny thing, showing light to Deepak?

    Hi,
    Safari 5.0.2 / Mac OS X 10.6.4
You need to update your system software.
Click the Apple () menu (top left in your screen) Software Update ...
    Then repair permissions.
Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done.
If you see any warnings re: SUID messages, they can be safely ignored, information here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1448?viewlocale=en_US

  • New Type of Firewall Config (for me)

OK - this is a different type of config for me so I am reaching out for  some advise / help.  I manage many cisco asa 5520's and I am in the  process of converting one asa from a block of 30 outside addresses of to  a 50 Meg Cox cable modem with a block of 30 cidr addresses.
Normally  I would just reference an outside address and bingo, things would work  right.  In this case I found out so far that I could only get internet  access through this cable modem by setting up the outside interface of  the asa with dhcp - then it grabbed a public wan address, added a route  to the asa 5520 and then I had internet access out through the cable  modem.
My question / problem / nuance to me is when I reference /  assign  one of our cidr addresses to a device (like a server) and that  is natted from the dmz to the outside address I don't get access to the  device.
I'm thinking I have to do something special to set up  these cidr addresses but having never done this before I am reaching out  for some advise.
my outside dhcp assigned wan address is 70.168.x.1xx with a gateway of 70.168.x.1
The cidr block I have been assigned from the cable company is
    184.185.x.x/27
The  cable company also has suggested a default gateway address withing the  cidr block and a first useable and last useable address.
I must say that I usually look to over complicate things by thinking things are more difficult than they really are.
Can  anyone get me pointed in the right direction so I know how to assign  these cidr addresses and have then accessable from the outside???
    Thanks in advance
    Paul

    Hi,
So from what I understand you should have your own public IP address range of /27 usable through your current connection. Yet it only works with setting the ASA outside to use DHCP and doesnt work when you staticly assign an IP address from the /27 address range and set the default route.
If the above is the case I'm kinda wondering why you are even getting IP address with DHCP from the ISP if you are supposed to have your own public address block.
You sure the ISP has its side configured correctly?

  • Change of Basic Finish Date for a Maintenance Order

    Hi Experts,
I have a requirement where I need to change the Basic Finish Date of an order. Currently in config for order type and plant combination, scheduling parameters are set as:
    Adjust to Basic Finish Dates
    Automatic Scheduling.
If in an order, I remove the tick for Automatic Scheduling, I am able to change that but I am not supposed to do that.
Can you suggest me how thisissue can be resolved. Remember, changing the Config is not an option.
    Regards...

    hi
Since you have done the adjust basic dates ,kindly change the operation dates ,which will automatically change the dates specified in the operation dates

What I do is: First, I search for Line Item then Document Number. Then It return to basic list. Then I loop again for the second Line Item Number and Document Number.
I can activate the first amount but cannot for the next amount and so on.
Anybody could help me on this??
Is there any BAPI for Post Incoming Payment (F-28)?
    Thank you.

  • Ironport C160-Best practice config for my 2 listeners?

I am trialling an Ironport C160.
I want it to scan inbound and outbound mail. I have configured a public inbound listener for mail from the internet. It is configured to accept all my domains, and forward them to my exchange server. It does LDAP lookups for recpients to ensure they are valid. It uses the Data1 interface on the ip address of the Ironport and also has the hostname ironport.mydomain.com.
What is the recommended way to configure the private outbound listener? I just want it to do simple av scanning, then pass it on to my ASA.
Should I configure a new interface o Data2, and use port 25? If so, what would the hostname be?
Or use the same interface and use port 24 instead?
What are the pros and cons of each setup?

Please note that you can add your Exchange server IP address into RELAYLIST or any sender group with RELAYED mail flow policy or mail flow policy with 'Relay' connection behavior. Add IronPort listener iP as smart host on Exchange server. All emails from Exchange server will then be treated as outgoing emails and envelope recipient address will not be checked against LDAP.
Most of my customers simply use one listener for both incoming and outgoing emails. You can choose to have multiple listeners for incoming (e.g. Different domains want to have their own MX IP addresses, sender groups for whitelist, greylist, blacklist domain/IP ranges) and outgoing emails (e.g. Not adding 'Received' header for outgoing listener for security reason).
Please note that there is a restriction that you cannot configure IP addresses on same network range on different physical interfaces on IronPort.
You can also configure multiple IP interfaces or interface groups on IronPort such that you can deliver emails for different domains, normal or urgent, management or marketing or other emails by different IP addresses or IP range.

  • Separate Internet service for Guest Wireless

    Hi all,
I was reading about security concerns having guest wireless sharing the corporate Internet services and therefore looking towards the path where a separate basic Internet serivce can be provided for them keeping the corporate side safe.
In doing that what i was thinking would be the way:
Extend the Guest Wireless VLAN from the core switch where the SVI is currently at to the new ADSL router's Inside interface. And in doing that I will need to configure the ADSL router for the right DHCP scope and DNS entries and finally remove the SVI from the core switch so it simple does switching across to this ADSL service.
Let me know if i am on the right track or if i am missing something.
    Regards!

    Hi George,
it is a simple setup with just one controller. and the WLC is talking to the ISE to authenticate including the web auth login for the guest.
So to ans your Q, i think No, the WLC deosnt push the guest to the DMZ. the guest VLAN is hanging off the core switch at the moment. and using their corporate Internet service.
i hope the above answered your doubts. Cheers!

  • Sporadic Rotating Loss of Internet Connection for Just Some Devices

    Hi,
We've been having a problem where one or two of our devices (phones, laptops, iPads, Apple TV) lose internet connection for 10-30 sec at a time, while the others are fine.
As best as I can tell it's a full loss of connection, not just something running very slowly due to us pushing the bandwidth limits. I've experienced the latter elsewhere and this manifests very differently. It will instantly and fully disconnect a person from an online game or drop a skype call without the accompanying prolonged lag or distortion of bottlenecked bandwidth.
It happens at all times of day, and does not seem related to our peak times of bandwidth usage, nor the general public's peak times of usage.
We should have enough bandwidh for our usage, and usually we do. Our system is 25/25 Mbps and during our peak use at most we would probably have 1 laptop gaming, 1 HD video stream, and 2 non-HD streams. However, like I said before, the problem seems unrelated to overall bandwidth usage. The same problem occurs even at midnight when our local usage is minimal.
Overall we have 6 laptops, 5 phones, an iPad, 2 microcell signal boosters, and Apple TV, in total connected to the FiOS. We have a property with tenants where the signal is distributed via 3 WiFi routers and one direct ethernet cable to my laptop, and one to the Apple TV.
It happens on devices that are both connected through the WiFi (wife's laptop, phones, iPad) and ethernet (my laptop, Apple TV). It can happen with devices that are a few unobstructed feet from the WiFi router. However, it anecdotely seems to happen more on our phones than laptops.
My hunch is it is something outside our local network. This is because our equipment  and usage has basically remained unchanged over the last couple months. (We got one new microcell tower for a different carrier, one new wifi router, but overall same # of people and patterns of usage.) And yet the problem seems to be getting worse. Back in probably early November I don't remember this problem occuring at all.
My second best guess is there are more devices connected to the network than it can handle simultaneously, and it rotates which gets kicked off. Maybe this was occuring before but we didnt realize it.
My third guess is it has to due with signal interference with the various WiFi routers and microcell boosters. However, this seems less likely since it also affects devices connected via ethernet cables.
Any thoughts or advice is much appreciated! Thanks!
    -Ned

Ok, so in the mean time we decided to upgrade our service so I've only tried this solution now.
My problem though now is I can log into 192.168.1.1, then give my verizon admin password, and then set my channel preference. That seems fine for changing the main network input and wifi router (call it A).
However, we have another wifi router (call it B) which is fed from A via a cable. I cannot figure out how to change B's wifi channel. Therefore I worry if we have only switched A, since A feeds B (as well as the 2 microcells) they will all still be on the same channel and therefore still interfering with each other.
I have tried www.routerlogin.net (and .com) as written on my netgear router and I get "http://searchassist.verizon.com/" telling me "Sorry, We could not find www.routerlogin.net". I have also tried logging into wifi router B via all the 192.168.1.X addresses I see listed on the Verzion account when I log in via 192.168.1.1 (in total I tried all the 192.168.1.[1-24] options).
    Thanks for the help!

  • Printer klling internet connection for all wifi devices in office

    Hi!
We bought office jet 8600 pro and connected it to the main office desktop computer through ethernet cable. This main computer is also connected to wifi router.
All other laptops in office are using wifi router for internet and for printing.
As soon as we installed new printer it started to conflict with alll wifi devices in office. Basically all laptops and phones loosing internet connection for 2-15 minutes. Usually when somebody from main computer is using printer.
I read in another thread about similar problem and tried to fix this by checking firmware version of router and making a static ip for printer. I put printer to 192.168.1.250. It didn't work, internet keep going down. As experiment i made a static ip for my own laptop too -192.168.1.50. it didn't work too. Need help. Thank you!

Sorry. Actually we have 2 routers. First one is working as a connector for ethernet and another one is a wifi router. Printer is connected to the router(connector). Wi-fi router is connected to router(connector) too.
If printer is connected to the router(connector) every 5-10 minutes wi-fi for all computers in the office become restricted (without internet access).
As soon as you are pulling out the ethernet cable from printer, everything works fine.
There are two computers that sharing printer by ethernet cable. Others are using wi-fi connection through  both routers to connect to the printer. Wi-fi printing is working good by the way.

  • Environment config for Triton Rack

Is there any kind soul out there that has their environment configed for Triton Rack and which to share?
I bought Logic 3 years ago. I am a video person and have used other programs before such as Digital Performer. I have an old Ensoniq MR76 keyboard. I understand the basic of midi and audio but the Logic Environment takes me to another land....
I hired a person to help me back than and he could get me setup completely. Computer died and lost all of those settings. I almost cried.. lol lol...
This is what I wish to do. Record into logic using midi from MR76 keyboard and Triton Rack. I would like to record on more than one track using these two devices. For bounces I would come in through my Motu MKII and LunaTec. via firewire. I would like to setup the environment so I can choose the different banks from Triton Rack.
I run a TV station for a college and am the only one doing so I don't really have a lot of time to RTFM. I like manual too. 55-70 hrs a week...

  • Proper TLS Config for IronPort C170

I inherited an infrastructure a little bit ago that uses an IronPort C170 cluster for email security. I have been tasked with configuring TLS connections with our new medical benefits provider and have some issues doing so. We have 3 MX records, let's call them mail1, mail2 and mail3. Mail1 and mail2 are configured normally on our firewall to pass SMTP traffic on port 25 to the MailListener port on the IronPort which is 25. Mail3, however, is configured on the firewall to translate SMTP traffic on port 25 to port 3600 which is sent to the TLS Listener port 3600 on the IronPort. The IronPort MailInterfaces are configured as such (25,3600) Reverse configuration on the firewall takes any port 3600 traffic from the IronPort and translates it to port 25 traffic for the rest of the world.
I configured the IronPort with a new Sender Group named TLS_ACCEPT,  added all the medical provider domain names/IPs to it and assigned it to  the ACCEPTED Mail Flow Policy where TLS is set to Required. Likewise,  for outgoing, I specified the same domain names/IPs within the  Destination Controls to require TLS for sending purposes.
I replaced the guy who originally configured this so I am not too sure how it is setup on the other end for TLS connections already established. We do have a few in place that are active. I am assuming that the other end is configured to send email only to the mail3 MX record. This configuration, however, is not possible with our medical provider so I need an alternative. They have verified that they cannot contact us on mail1 or mail2 via TLS but can with mail3.
The obvious problem is if a sender from these new domains tries to send TLS_required emails to us over the mail1 and mail2 MX IPs, they will receive an NDR. If I configure the firewall to translate mail1 and mail2 incoming connections from port 25 to 3600, any email sent with TLS not prefered/required will get an NDR. This was actually tested and domains like Yahoo and Hotmail could not send to us.
Are there any options for me on the IronPort to allow these connections to be sent from all our MX IPs without having to translate the ports? If not, what would happen if I changed the TLS Listener port on the IronPort to 25 instead of 3600 and disabled all the NAT rules on the firewall for mail3? I am only to assume this translation was another security step added by the previous admin here but am not too sure what would happen if I eliminated it.
Any advice, help, questions, assistance or fun-poking would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you in advance!

    Kevin,
OMG there's so much unneeded complication here...You can totally ditch the port translation
    Here's what I did:
Under Network/IP interfaces, I have 3 interfaces:  managment, Public, Private.
Public is exposed to the net, only port 25 allowed in/out, with 1 A  record for a Domain1 which I have a certificate for.
    Under Network/Listener I have 2 Listeners:
Outbound on the Private interface not really relavent for the rest of this discussion

  • Wake On Lan (over Internet) support for WRT610N

    Dear Linksys/Cisco
Please please,we need Wake On Lan  (over Internet) support for the WRT610N.
Whether it's implemented with static arp, or by allowing port forwards to the broadcast address doesn't really matter I guess.
Please consider this for inclusion in a future firmware upgrade.
    Best regards

Linksys routes don't support WOL. It's not possible to enter static entries into the router's ARP tables which would be necessary to have permanent access to the IP address of the computer. Basically, after some time of inactivity the router "forgets" the MAC address of your computer...

    Hi
I recently  purschased an Online number but the caller id does not work for incoming calls. How do we resolve this problem?.
    Regards

You didn't mention what country your Online Number is in.  Not all of Skype's Online Numbers are eligible for use as Caller ID when calling telephones or sending SMS messages.  If your number is from one of these countries (Chile, Denmark, Estonia, Hong Kong, Poland, Sweden, the UK and the US), then it can be used this way.  Otherwise, you can use a mobile number from countries other than Japan or Mexico as Caller ID with Skype, after the number goes through a verification process where Skype sends SMS messages with codes to that number.
To get to these settings, log into your Skype account here on the Skype web site using the "Account" link at the top of this page.  You'll see a screen that would include your current Caller ID settings, and a link to change that.  If your Online Number is from one of those countries I referenced above, just select it and you're done.
    Hope that helps!
