Basic qos for video using mqc

I have two 2800 routers connected via T1. I need a basic configuration for prioritizing my video using MQC and LLQ.
Thanks.

Hi,
you have to build only 2 priorization-queues. One for Voice and one for Video (with lower performance).
The third queue will be a wfq-queue with lfi to be sure that big-packets are not reasons for bad voice or video.
the signalling should be in the voice-queue.

  • Fastest and best external hard disks for video use with Imac?

What is the fastest and best external hard disks for video use with Imac (I believe it is currently not possible to use Esata on the Imac).

For DVCam. HDV etc, I'm a fan of the G-raid drives. From personal experience they
are very solid performers. I only had one issue with a new drive that was replaced
next day. They are not the cheapest drives to be found but the build quality
    is excellent. Check out:

  • QoS for Video Data

    Hello Together,
I like to implement a QoS Policy class to prioritise "Windows Netmeeting". Does somebody know the well known port number and can somebody recommend an bandwidth that i should provide at least to this class ?
    Thanks in advance.

As you can find in the Netmeeting IP ports table below, netmeeting uses dynamic ports for Video streaming. So I am not really sure how you can configure QoS for the same.
Anyone has a good tip to achieve this.?
    Port Purpose
    389 Internet Locator Server (TCP)
    522 User Location Server (TCP)
    1503 T.120 (TCP)
    1720 H.323 call setup (TCP)
    1731 Audio call control (TCP)
    Dynamic H.323 call control (TCP)
Dynamic H.323 streaming (RTP over UDP)

  • Storage requirements for video using Nano, iMovie ( on mini Mac).

I recently acquired a new Nano with the video option. Took some video clips at a wedding and converted to a 7 minute video using iMovie on my Mac Mini. Included a few title pages. Required storage capacity 18GBytes. Seems excessive. Any comments on how I could get this figure down without reducing the length of the video etc.

Any other processes running on the mini at the same time?

  • Help implementing QoS for Video Streaming

    Hello friends!
I am trying to implement a quality of service logic for a videoplayer based on the Brightcove API. As I have learned it's a better idea to use methods in NetStreamInfo class (eg. currentBytesPerSecond) rather than using a native bandwith check.
E.g. (where nc is a NetConnection object)
    var ns:NetStream = new NetStream(nc);
    var nsi:NetStreamInfo = ns.info;
    var cbytes:Number = nsi.currentBytesPerSecond;
use cbytes to evaluate which quality to chose...
The problem is that streams are initiated (by videoplayer) using the Brightcove API and not directly using NetConnection.connect(). The BC API doesnt seem to give me any access to the classes listed above either, altough I'm certain it's utilizing them.
Are there any Brightcove or video streaming experts out there that have a clue as to how I can access the NetConnection object used by Brightcove? Or if i can access the NetStream object or even tge NetStreamInfo object directly.
    best regards,
    Fredrik

You don't have your egress queuing setup. You need to map your COS values to a queue, then you can allocate bandwidth to those queue's. This makes lower priority traffic wait while higher priority traffic gets transmitted.
I have a few configuration examples on my site that may help you. Remember that the config that I have may not be the best for your network so you will have to figure that out yourself.
    http://goatnetworking.com/CiscoCSwitchQOSConfig.php
Make sure that your QOS profile on the WLC is set correctly. I found one of my controllers didn't even have a value set in the profile, but the profile was applied and doing nothing.
You need to apply the policy map to mark packets on the port where the video source is on your network.
You need to Trust DSCP on all of your trunk ports or the switch will ignore the dscp markings.
QOS may only be one of many issues that may be causing your problem. Your AP's could be overloaded with clients, your data rates may not be optimized, etc..
    I hope this helps

  • QOS for video conference

    Hi,
Can somebody help me design the best way to configure qos in the following scenario? and where to apply the qos policy?
    Central office:
2600xm router and Polycom video conference device
    Remotes:
    2600xm router and Polycom
Note: The remotes are connected using a ipsec tunnel from pix to pix and the 2600xm is in the inside doing GRE to the main router which is a 3660 which is connected via a ptop t1 to the location where the other 2600xm is.(2600>pix>pix>3660>2600).
    Thanks very much,
    Uriel.

I think this documents give a good idea about the QoS requirement in a video deployment .

  • Logic Pro for Video Use

Is it worth learning Logic Pro to manage the audio tracks in video?
My video isn't that complicated when it coms to audio, but I do have to manage outdoor audio tracks with music and voiceover.  Frequently I have to deal with audio that has problems in need of correction that FCPx strains to handle.
I'll never use Logic Pro to record music, so is it worth buying and learning just to manage audio tracks in video?

Don't get the extra RAM from Apple.  (Too expensive.)  Get the minimum RAM from Apple, and go to Crucial or somewhere similar.  It's an easy DIY job to upgrade RAM.

  • Using 3750 switches & 2821 router for video & http qos

    Hello all,
I know that the 3750 switches and 2821 routers are aging platforms, though, was curious if it they are capable of providing QoS for video (such as WebEx) and HTTP/HTTPS, in addition to voice traffic?
    Thanks

    Thank you Reza.
One reason we're looking into this, is that we wanted to see if we could give priority to traffic destined for, and arriving from, certain servers  (in addition to certain classes of traffic).   Is that possible?  Most of our switches have IPBase images (12.2(55)SE1).
    Thanks

  • What's the best EOS for video?

    Hello,
I'm in the market for a new DSLR.  Obviously I want beautiful photos, but the video is almost more important.  I would love to get the 7D, but I'm interested in whether there is a more budget friendly option that is just as good.  What about the 60D?
    Or perhaps a Rebel T3i or T4i?
    Thanks for your suggestions!!

If video on a budget is your primary desire, the T3i or 60d with Magic Lantern would be my choice. ML will give both cameras essentially the same functions (which are IMMENSE with ML on board), but the 60d is going to have a few extras you may prefer in a stills body (plus little things like ease of swapping batteries on some tripods because of battery door placement). That said, if you can get a refurb T3i for $360 vs a 60d for $600 (black friday prices), I would get the T3i hands down. That is a LOT of camera for the money at those prices. Too bad it shows T2i out of stock, but at >$300 it's obvious why!!!
Lenses make a difference in stills quality, but for video not as big, especially for what you want to do. There is NO reason you need to spend $1000 on a lens for video. An HD video image is about 2mp. A still will be 18mp. So obviously the quality of glass will have more affect on IQ for stills than video. Basically, any lens that is good enough for stills will be good enough for video. Not necessarily the other way though. That's why people like to use old MF lenses for bargain finds for video. There are other things to consider such as focus ring placement and smoothness for video use. For example, the 50 1.8 is perfectly fine for stills but the focus ring is in a bad spot for racking focus for video use.
I don't see a substantial enough reason to get a T4i over a 60d/T3i when it costs more than either. There is AF in video mode but after seeing it in real life action it isn't as impressive as it is on paper, and not worth the extra cost considering what the other two can be had for IMHO. I don't see the 7d as being a good choice for what you want.
I suggest the 60d and T3i because if you're doing video, that swivel screen will pay for itself immediately. I reach for my 60d over my T2i for video every time because of the swivel screen. Heck, I grab my SX20 for video (if I'll be outside or in good light) over the T2i BECAUSE of the swivel screen alone.

  • Add Metadata, Options to Open in Adobe Media Encoder for Video Files

I was surprised to discover that some basic information about video files is not shown. For example, the duration of a QuickTime video is not shown.
Also, there is no option to open an MOV file in Adobe Media Encoder.
It would be nice to have this basic support for video.

    Hi Cereskit
Thanks again for the message. I've done the updates and have the App Store on my desktop. I went into it and searched for imovie but couldn't find the basic imovie, which I presume is what I'd need for editing?, rather than imovie 11 for £10.49, which is for making trailers, it seems. Also, were you saying that imovie would be free?

  • I am planning to buy mac mini 2.5Gzh. I will be using it mainly for video editing and I am planning to upgrade up to 8GB. Is it a good buy or should I try some other alternative.

I am planning to buy my next desktop. I will be using this mainly for video editing. I am not a professional video editor, I normally do home made videos for youtube, like tutorial, DIY project etc. I use Nikon D3100 camera and some basic green screen techniques as part of recording. So my basic video editing would be just syncing audio, editing videos to cut un-necessary frames etc and some basic effects. I am also planning to buy final cut pro.
So my question is should I buy the mac mini or Imac?

    Great advice from RRFS!
For video editing, do go for 16 GB of RAM ffrom OWC & consider the twice as fast i7 2.6 model, see Geekbench scores here..

You are being asked if  you have the rights to the content you are publishing. That is all.
If you are using Copywrite content it is not allowed unless you have the rights or a license to use it. For instance if you create music for the background is it your music, or someone elses? If it is someone else's,  you cannot use it unless you have the right or license too do so. Your images are they open source or did you create them? Or did you rip them from the net? IF the latter you cannnot use.... Does not matter if you are using pirated, or stolen software (although frowned upon, and NOT recommned) to create your content
    Hope that was clear.
