Batch Determination - Number of the production order

Hi All,
First of all i must say that my knowledge in this module is low. I am a FI, CO consultant but my administration ask me to check the following situation.
In Production Orders we want to attrib to the batch number the number of the production order.
Can we do that?
Can you give some details about that?

Hi João Fernandes,
If I understood clearly, you want the batch number for the production order to be same as the production order number.
This is not possible in standard but can be achieved using the user exit (try SAPLV01Z).
Tell your abaper to write a code in that to pick up the batch number same as the production order number.

    I have components which are batch determined. and backflush active.
    There is no search procedure active, everything else is std.
    While doing confirmation in Co11n. i could not get all the Batches copied in Goods movement Tab. Though i have enough batches and stock available. with proper shelf life dates.

    1.Please check in MRP 2 view Batch entry= 3 is maintained
    2.Check Classification view with characteristic that use in CU70
    3. Check whether you have assign Batch Search Procedure to this new order type in OPL8 i
    4.Check whether Batch Search Strategy is maintain or not for this new order type and Plant using COB1.If not then complete this assign it.
    5.Its not necessary that you shud always use GR date for batch determination.you can create any characteristic using CT04. and assign your own values.
    1.Assign that characterisitc to class,
    2.Maintain that class in material master, strategy type.
    3.Assign the strategy type to Search procedure, then assign that search procedure to required mvt type.
    4.Maintain the selection criteria for the strategy type in MBC1.
    While doing GI system will ask for the characterstic value for the batch.You maintain required value, same as maintained in MBC1.So, when you do that mvt type put * in the batch. system will propose yoou the batches

  • Batch determination in the production order header

    Hi,
    I'm trying to determine the batch for the production order header (AFPO-CHARG). I've set up the search strategy, added the procedure to the relevant plant/order type combination in OPL8 and created the batch search strategy to default the batch, however, when I create the order the batch does not default. Am I missing anything obvious?

    Batch Search strtaegy is used to get the batch numbers of the components in the production order or get the batches in the delivery of the sales order.
    These batches can be selected based on the selection criteria and the sort rules.
    I do not completely understand what you mean by batch at heaser level.
    If you mean to say the batch number for the header material then you can not search that batch since it has to be created first.

  • Show batch clasification char val of the production order material in COOIS

    I want to display a characteristic value entered in the material batch classification of the production order material in COOIS report.
    Ex: I maintain material stock code in material batch classification. Within the same material there can be multiple stock codes which is similar to dye lot number. I created production order for that material. I want to display that batch classification characteristic of the material in a separate column when display production orders of that martial in COOIS.

    Have you use the process batch? The classification characteristics of each process batch created for a production order are compared with the actual configuration characteristics.
    If different characteristics are used for the classification, that is, if characteristics do not exist in the configuration, these characteristics are flagged as green by default in the detailed display.
    Call interface:
    An interface (parameter of the function module) can be used to call function module MILL_PC1_COMP_LIST outside C003, C011N from COOIS.
    Or Call Transaction SE38 report PPIOA000  execute it.
    You can refer the OSS note 519649 for it.

  • How to automatically determine batch no. of component  in Production Order

    Hi PP gurus:
       I am facing a issue.  A finished goods with a raw material which under batch management, what I want is  when I release the production order of the finished goods, SAP can automatically determine the batch no. of the raw material  according to the presetted rule without hitting the "Batch Determination"  button in the component tab.
    Who can throw a light to me?

    Hi,
    To manage the materail in batches first you have to check the batch management indicator during the matreial creation in purchasing view or plandata/stor1 view .
    Next you have to set the value of batch entry in MRP-2 view for Determination of batch entry in the production/process order
    This indicator refers to the components of an order, not to the finished product to be manufactured. You have the following options:
    The batches can be determined when the goods issue is posted.
    The batches must be entered in the order before it is released.
    The batches must be entered in the order before the goods issue is posted, but not necessarily before the order is released.
    If you use pick parts, the batches are determined in the transfer order and then confirmed to the order. If there is no direct link between the transfer order and the production order/process order (for example, with release order parts or crate parts), you must enter the batches in the production order/process order manually.
    The batches are determined automatically when the order is released.

    To determine if a component in the production order is relevant for the paint dispatch list:
    For a Production Order, after retrieving all the components (children) of the header material utilize function module CLSE_SELECT_AUSP.  Pass the following information under the import parameters:
    Function Group: CLSE
    Function Module: CLSE_SELECT_AUSP
    Import Parameters:
    KLART   = 001   (Hard-coded) (ZERO, ZERO, ONE)
         OBJEK  =    (Component number from production order Item) – RESB-MATNR
    MAFID = O  (Hard-coded) (The letter O)
              KEY_DATE  =  (BOM Explosion Date) – CAUFV AFKO-AUFLD
    Returns:
              Table = T_AUSP
              Field  = ATWRT

    Then the following logic should apply:
         IF T_AUSP-ATWRT = OPTPNTD THEN this component (RESB-MATNR) is relevant for the dispatch list.

  • Internal Batch Number for specific Production Order Type

    HI PP Guru
    We need to activate Internal Batch Numbers to a specific Production Order type.
    We need this at order confirmation level. i.e. (CO11/CO12)
    Is it possible? HOW ?
    Please let me know customizing Steps.
    If this is not possible then, Batch number should be internally assgisned at Order release stage. Please let me know customizaing steps for this even.

    However, if we do not wish to activate Internal Batch Assigment and want to remain on manual BUT still we want system should not allow duplicate BATCH NUMBER, then, is there any way to achive this.
    This is because, once we manually enter batch in confirmation (CO11), we further break the material in to several part and we need to understand original batch number. For this we just take the original batch number and add further serial number like below
    Orinigal Confirmation Batch Number - 100001
    Batch Split of 10 - 10000101,10000102,..............10000110.
    So, what we want is system should check that same batch number is exist or not in confirmation. Is it possible or how it can be handle.

  • Limit the number of open production order

    Dear PP experts,
    I am working on discrete scenario where client want to limit the number of open production order per work center. The more elaboration is like, for one work center the only specific number of production should remain open (e.g. 5 production order in assembly shop) when user is trying to open 6th production order system should restrict that.
    Does any standard functionality available in system or needs development?

  • Serial number error while creating the production order

    Hello frds,
    I am getting the following error while creating the production order.
    "Item 000000 requires exactly 100 serial numbers for the asset".
    If i give 100 serial numbers in the order, the error is solved. But i do not want to assign 100 serial numbers, i want to assign only 2 numbers.
    I have tried using the new serial number profile also, but it is giving same error.
    Kindly guide.

    Select the serial number profile and go to serialization procedure and set the ser. usage status 02 - Optional as below.
    Procd Procedure description Ser.Usage
    PPRL PP order release 02
    since the serail number creation is optional for order relase this will allow you to relase with out error and with serail number assigned in partial.

    I think it depends on your configuration. But check fields KDAUF and KDPOS in table AUFK.  or in table AFPO.

    Hello Tman,
    This is a slightly tricky question. The reason being, the report options like the report path etc, are set before you see the serial number prompt when you run your UUT. There might be other ways of getting around this, but a quick solution would be modifying the process model.
    I modified the PreUUT callback to set the report options. I passed the reportOptions as a parameter to this sequence. In the PreUUT sequence, I set the following fields:
    Parameters.ReportOptions.GeneratePath=False
    Parameters.ReportOptions.ReportFilePath= "c:\\"+ Locals.SerialNumber +"\\report.xml"

      I am creating the production order using the Tcodes Co01 or co10 and my requirement is that after creating the production number and then when I open that one in the change mode using  co02 Tcode the sequential number which is present in the assignment tab should come as a concatenation of order number and operation number .

    this depends on the user buffer set.
    for each user there will be a buffer set in when logeed in and create a production order.
    depending on the saving the production order saving time there may be a situation as you have now.
    discuss with your basis people and under stand the user  buffer of numer for production order.

  • Batch Determination for material in Process Order

    Hello,
    I need to set up a Batch determination strategy for the Raw material at IM level for a Process Order.
    Basically the materials are Batch Managed and already have a Batch number assigned to it.
    I just want to use a simple strategy of determining material with the oldest GR datel(FIFO) during the Process Order creation/release or during the Process Order confirmation.
    Can you guide me how to set up the strategy and the conditions to do a FIFO for the materials during the Process order.

    Hi,
    Only Problem with this FIFO strategy in which you want to do Batch Determination with reference to Oldest GR date is GR date itself.
    Batch determination will only possible if Batch Characteristic values are maintain.What I have observe for this GR date is if we use this as a Reference Characteristic in that case also Value is not set automatically in the Batch Data, so value of the GR date is maintain manually.Pls check it your end if no problem then The rest of the things for Batch determination are not difficult.

    Hi,
    Can anyone provide me the relationship between the sales order and production order .
    I need to get the customer material description(ie from vbap for related sales document no) when i give the input  as a production order number ,now my question is how the data is  retriewed  i mean how the production order gets related to sales order and form it how the material no is picked up and its material description..
    Please provide me with the tables and what key fields  are related (clear view how tables are related and how could i fetch the data)

    There is no exact relationship between a Production order and a Sales order in an MakeToStock environment.  I will therefore assume that you are speaking of MakeToOrder,  where there is an exact relationship between the Production order and the Sales Order/Item.
    Functionally, CO03 > enter the production order number.  On the display screen will be displayed the associated Sales order and item.  Double click on this and it will bring you to VA03.  Select the item of interest, and then Goto > Item > Purchase order data.  The customer material is displayed.  If you have entered a customer material description in your Customer Material Info Record (CMIR) (VD51), and if the Material in the sales order was determined by the customer material info record, then the description will be displayed instead.
    So, at table level:
    Look in AFPO to find production order number.  Contained in AFPO is AFPO-KDAUF and AFPO-KDPOS.
    Use these fields to look in VBAP to locate your sales order/item.  Find VBAP-KDMAT. This is customer material.
    The description of the 'standard' customer materials can always be found in KNMT.  To look this up, you need to know sales org, dist channel, customer, and material.  Lookup using a program is dicey, since it is possible, within a sales order, to determine the material from Customer material, or it is possible to just enter any customer material in the sales order.  When the material is determined, it depends upon your determination logic (sold to? Hierarchy?), which can differ from system to system, and from customer to customer.  To sum it up, it is possible to get the CustMat description from data found in VBAP and VBAK, but you first need to know how your CMIRs are structured.
    For a simple lookup, I suggest you just get to the customer material in VBAP, and stop there.
    For more info about how data is stored in the Sales documents, you might want to ask your question in one of the SD forums.
