Batch/script from command line and crontab
Is possible to create a batch from adobe photoshop 5.5 and use a command line to execute? I need easy batch like "open and save in another kind of extension" but can't find the solution to automate the process from command line.
Any1 can help me?
Thank u all
It sounds like droplets are exactly what you need. Droplets turn any action into an executable that can be run from the command line passing files to process as arguments. Just make the action you described, and go to go to file > automate > create droplet in photoshop to make the droplet.
P.S. this has nothing to do with bridge

Running Oracle Scripts from Command Line
Hi,
How can i run Oracle scripts from command line.
Actually i need to run these scripts from MSBuild before running Unit test projectsC:\>sqlplus @myscript
That would be the easiest variation
C:\>sqlplus user/passwd@tns_alias @myscript
would be an often used variation
And then there is of course the version with parameter passing:
C:\>sqlplus user/passwd@tns_alias @myscript param1 ... paramx
Dunno about MSBuild -
Hi All
We have 11.1.1.7 ojdeploy to compile our app.
We notice in the log that not all jars are used in classpath arguments when we explicitly set them up for compilation.
eg:

1- Is it because it depends on how jpr or jws are configured ?
2- How can we automatically generate a build file of the application from command-line (as opposed to using Jdev IDE to click to generate a build.xml) ?The first warning is happening because you're stating drivers for input devices without need. You haven't disabled hotplug so evdev gets used instead of kbd. This is normal, and you should change the driver line from kbd to evdev so that whatever options (if any) you've specified for the keyboard get parsed.
The second warning is about you not installing acpid.
The third I have no idea about, but look at the synaptics wiki. None of the (WW) are related to your video card.
And every card that has 2 or more output ports show up as "two cards". You also don't need to specify the pci port in xorg.conf. edit: this is the general case with laptops, might be different for desktops.
When I do lspci -v I get:

And it doesn't matter if it errs in trying to sli up with it self. That's just not a possibility.

Run PDF File from command line and goto a bookmark
Hi,
I need to open a pdf file vi command line (WinXP / Win7).
Till this I do not have a problem.
But I need to go to a bookmark in the file direct after opening the file.
I tried "acrord23.exe /a nameddest=BOOKMARK file.pdf" but this opened only the file.
"acrord23.exe /a zoom=50 file.pdf" works fine.
Is there another parameter to go to a bookmark after open a file?
Where is my mistake?
Thanks in advance
Regards
Marc
Message was edited by: mgemmerich - reason: typoHi,
I read the PDF Open Parameters reference. So I tried the nameddest. I think the nameddest is a bookmark, or is this wrong?
The background is, that we have the dokumentation for our application in word. So we save the word as pdf. Each chapter is now a bookmark.
In the application we want to call the pdf and jump to the bookmark. Each frame were you can call "help" is a chapter/bookmark.
Or is there another way to do this?

Running Shell script from command line
Hi,
I am getting a Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: TestRuntime/java error when I run the following code on my linnux box...can anyone please help
import java.io.*;
public class TestRuntime {
public static void main(String args[]) {
Runtime runtime = Runtime.getRuntime(); //get runtime information
try {
Process Child = runtime.exec("/usr/bin/ksh"); // execute command
BufferedWriter outCommand = new BufferedWriter(new OutputStreamWriter(Child.getOutputStream()));
outCommand.write("/home/mypath/tesh.csh");
outCommand.flush();
try {
Child.waitFor(); // wait for command to complete
} catch (InterruptedException e) { // handle waitFor failure
System.out.println("ERROR: waitFor failure");
System.exit(10); // exit application with exit code 10
} catch (IOException e) { // handle exec failure
System.out.println("ERROR: exec failure" + e);
System.exit(11); // exit application with exit code 11
}If I'm reading your code correctly, you're starting a Korn shell session, then executing your C shell script as if you were at at the session window's prompt. If that is correct, you haven't caused your standard out (stdout) to hit ENTER yet. I'm not an expert, but I hope this works for you.
Your code:
Process Child = runtime.exec("/usr/bin/ksh"); // execute command
BufferedWriter outCommand = new BufferedWriter(new OutputStreamWriter(Child.getOutputStream()));
outCommand.write("/home/mypath/tesh.csh");
outCommand.flush();I think you need to enter one extra line before the flush():
Process Child = runtime.exec("/usr/bin/ksh"); // execute command
BufferedWriter outCommand = new BufferedWriter(new OutputStreamWriter(Child.getOutputStream()));
outCommand.write("/home/mypath/tesh.csh");
outCommand.newLine(); // hit ENTER
outCommand.flush();P.S. If you're running this script and your Java program from the same UNIX machine, you could just execute the shell script inside the runtime.exec() call. -
Getting gnome to run from command line and over VNC
Hi, I just got to the part of the Beginners guide, dealing with gnome and for some reason
$ startx
didn't give me a gnome desktop, X same with
$ xinit
but
$ xinit /usr/bin/gnome-session
worked and gave me a desktop. From the gnome guide
$ gnome-session
generated the following error
** (gnome-session:4591): WARNING **: Cannot open display:
Anyone know why I am getting these errors?
VNC
my xstartup used to look like
#!/bin/sh
vncconfig -iconic &
unset SESSION_MANAGER
unset DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS
OS=`uname -s`
if [ $OS = 'Linux' ]; then

xsetroot -solid grey
xterm -geometry 80x24+10+10 -ls -title "$VNCDESKTOP Desktop" &

with exec gnome-session added in, it still gave me a x desktop. Now it looks like
#!/bin/sh
autocutsel -fork
export XKL_XMODMAP_DISABLE=1
exec gnome-session
and works. Am I missing out on anything by omitting the old stuff? Any suggestions? Also if my inittab looks like this

Ok, but if I make any display manager do I become susceptible to this attack? Further, am I ok with my current xstartup? -

Could anybody knew any utility tools for make this generation easier and quicker?
It would be nice to have this tool. We want to bye if anybody sell it?See if the following Oracle Designer Help topics are relevant:

Error while running a Discoverer Workbook with parameter from command line
I am trying to run a discoverer report from command line and export the results in xls on to my local machine. I could do it fine for a simple workbook, but if I add a parameter(madatory) to the workbook and run it from command line specifying the parameter value I wanted to run the report for, I do not get any results. Here is the command line I am using.
dis51usr.exe /connect user/password@database /apps_user /apps_responsibility "System Administrator" /eul EUL_US /open C:\Disco\Test.DIS /sheet Testsheet /parameter Period Jan-07 /export xls C:\Disco\X.xls /batch
Parameter value is entered in correct format(Jan-07).
When I removed /batch from this to see if I get any error, Discoverer Desktop opened up, logged in and gets terminated saying 'Oracle Discoverer Desktop has encountered a problem and need to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.'
Did anybody come across this issue before?Hello,
If you have a few minutes, Windows is also aborting for me:
the differences are, my situation is:
a) am running the command line from a .bat file
b) am NOT running with parms, want the discoverer query to come up for the user
c) am running a query from the database
i am signing in as myself BUT running a query that was created by a generic user called SREG
c) if i run the .bat file from Windows Explorer, the query opens fine
d) if i execute the .bat file from within Microsoft Access using the shell command,
the query opens and then aborts RIGHT BEFORE the parm screen would display
e) btw, if i modify the .bat file, to run a query from MY database signon, then (d) - running .bat file
from vb using SHELL command works
Do you have a ideas as to why (d) does not work? I would be very grateful for your time, tx, sandra
this is what i posted yesterday, tx: Re: Running Discoverer command line

Acrobat 9 - Use Optimize PDF from command-line or batch
one can use the functionality optimize pdf from the command line or a batch script?
thanksI found the solution. With the batch sequence i create the pdf optimization, and use the plug-in Autobatchtool (from the partner evermap) to run this batch from command-line. Thanks for you help

Before ipfw used to cover network QoS parameters simulation from the command line.
Currently, from Yosemite on, PF seems more limited, and only port redirection/restriction seems to be possible.
Network Link Conditioner can do it, but, afaik, not from command line (or script). Which certainly limits a lot for automated testing or other automated operations.
Options?Thanks for this - I also have an OKI (a C5500) and this is a Godsend as I would struggle to replace it.
A couple of comments:
Points 6 and 7 should be switched - MacPorts wouldn't install until XCode was installed. You my also want to expand the XCode instructions to say that the App Store link downloads the installer and that you need to go into Launchpad and run it to fully install XCode.
The gsed installation also popped up and asked me to install Java (through Software Update). I did this and the installation of gsed continued and completed succesfully.
If wget is in the Downloads folder, the command you have to use it in point 8 should be prefaced with ./ as it's the local folder it will run from.
You have an extraneous line right below the wget command (sdff).
Otherwise, this is a really excellent procedure.
Many thanks,

Grant and revoke privilages from command line interface
hi all,
I have a lot of users that I need to give them a set of privileges to folders and containers of the repository, i thought that using the command line interface should help in loading a script.
i checked the manual for the syntax for such a command (i.e. to grant privileges) but i couldn't, searched the net and i didn't find anything.
So can we grant privileges from the command line interface and how ?
by the way is there anyway to create users from command line interface as well ?\
thanks in advance and have a good oneThe granting of access rights cannot be done with a CLI script in Designer. Instead you have to use the Designer API Pl/Sql packages.
For detailed information, refer to the "API and Model Reference Guide", which is
installed with the Designer Repository Documentation, or can be found on OTN > Doco > Designer site.
Scroll through that document to the Reference section. You will need to read up on two topics at least: Workarea and Container Context, Privileges and Access Rights.
To grant rights, the easiest way is to grant them "just like some existing ones".
To do this, you'll need a Pl/Sql procedure with 5 input parameters:
1) the workarea context
2) the container to look at
3) the user to look like
4) the container to grant access to
5) the user to grant access for
The Pl/Sql procedure then needs to make a series of Repository API package calls to set context and get container IRIDs:
JR_CONTEXT.Set_Workarea (workareaname) - to set the context workarea
JR_CONTEXT.Set_Working_Folder (sourcefoldername) - to specify the source container
JR_CONTEXT.Working_Folder (sourcefolderid) - to get the ID of the source container
JR_CONTEXT.Set_Working_Folder (targetfoldername) - to specify the target container
JR_CONTEXT.Working_Folder (targetfolderid) - to get the ID of the target container
OR you can just do a couple queries after you set the WA CONTEXT such as ...
Select IRID from CI_Application_Systems where NAME = <sourcefoldername>
Select IRID from CI_Application_Systems where NAME = <targetfoldername>
Then you get the list of rights desired, and grant them back to the target user.
JR_ACC_RIGHTS.Get_Acc_Rights (sourcefolderid, sourceusername) > AccessList
[gets list of existing rights for some user on a container]
JR_ACC_RIGHTS.Grant_Priv_List (targetfolderid, targetusername, AccessList, Cascade? = TRUE)
[to set the list of rights for a user against the target container and its subcontainers]
There are other ACC_RIGHTS packages, like Grant_Priv, Revoke_Prive, Revoke_Priv_List, etc that you can use as well to build up a set of access management scripts.
Hope this helps
