BEA-090513 "ServerIdentity failed validation" on single domain single server

Hi!
I'm getting loads of
<Error> <Security> <BEA-090513> <ServerIdentity failed validation, downgrading
to anonymous.>
errors though I'm running a single server in a single domain - so the information
in
http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/messages/Security.html
isn't very helpful. What can I do to remove this problem?
Thanks so much,
Hans-Peter Stoerr

I tried the bea method to change the credentials that the domain is interacting with (trust certificate) but no help.The errors keep coming still.
iN order to rule out some possiblity i shutdown the other domain completley and i could still see same errors in my managed server logs.i would really appreciate anyones tips to fix this issue.

    I think, if you only have a single domain, the only thing that could be causing this is a misconfiguration. Can you recreate the domain? Can you confirm that the config.xml files on all servers are identical?

    Does this domain have rmi communication with another weblogic domain? If so this error would normally occur if you have not enabled domain trust between the domains. You can enable domain trust by following the steps in the below link :
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12840_01/wls/docs103/secmanage/domain.html#wp1176064
    Not sure is this alone will crash a server. Is there any other errors in the logs ?

    <Error> <JTA> <BEA-110200> <User [<anonymous>] is not authorized to invoke startCommit

    The problem went away after I established trust between the two domains. Thanks

  • JAAS between WLS (untrusted) domains - ServerIdentity failed validation

    I'm trying to create a proxy/delegate class that can be used by clients to
    transparently access a server.
    The class should be usable from clients within WLS containers and from
    regular java apps.
    Using JNDI authentication everything works fine.
    Using JAAS I'm having a problem when my client is a EJB app in an untrusted
    WLS domain. When the login is requested the following error is occuring:
    <ServerIdentity failed validation, downgrading to anonymous.>
    I want to be able to do a JAAS login to a non-trusted domain. I'm assuming
    that the server is trying to pass the subject who is logged into the current
    container, and my call to LoginContext.login()
    Any thoughts?
    //Example of code
    loginContext = new LoginContext("ServiceSecurity", new
    FW_SimpleCallbackHandler(pUser, pPassword, pUrl));
    loginContext.login();
    Subject subject = loginContext.getSubject();
    serviceHome = (ServiceHome)weblogic.security.Security.runAs( subject,
    new PrivilegedExceptionAction() {
    public Object run() throws Exception{
    //JNDI lookup
    //Create session bean instance
    weblogic.security.Security.runAs( subject,
    new PrivilegedExceptionAction() {
    public Object run() throws Exception{
    //do operation on instance

    Then I'd start talking to BEA support to see if they even know how to do
    this.
    Without the trust relationship I'm not sure if you can achieve what you
    want.

    This is exactly what I am doing.
    Implicitly there is a security context within the session bean (the user
    logs in via the web app and context is propagated). I obtain a LoginContext
    to the other server and call the method within that context.
    It doesn't work because it is implicitly passing the security context of the
    session bean and failing due to lack of trust.
    //Example of code
    loginContext = new LoginContext("ServiceSecurity", new
    FW_SimpleCallbackHandler(pUser, pPassword, pUrl));
    loginContext.login();
    Subject subject = loginContext.getSubject();

    In that case you should be able to get the two different Subjects from
    the two different domains (return a different url from the URLCallback
    when you login with JAAS), and afterwards use
    weblogic.security.Security.doAs(...);
    with the correct Subject for the appropriate server when you access the
    servers.

    Thanks, but i think the content was miscommunicated. Everything works
    fine
    when the domains are "trusted". I want to know how to have "untrusted"
    domains talk to each other through explicit logins.
    ie. imagine an application on a domain in a finance department. What if
    they are trusted against other domains and can't / don't want to
    establish
    trust with your domain. They just need access to one particular service
    you
    expose.

    Hi Mark,
    You should first establish a trust relationship between your Weblogic
    servers:
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs70/secmanage/domain.html#1171534
    Then you can use JAAS to authenticate and get valid Subjects for the two
    users.

  • BEA-090513

    I do see this asked in quite a few topics but I still have questions:
              BEA WLS 8.1.4
              App (MDB's) on Domain A is trying to connect to Domain B' JMS (subscribe to Topics on Domain B).
              The domain B's log is full of messages like this though the MDB's on Domain A's App do get the messages published to the Topics.
              ####<May 17, 2007 1:12:12 PM GMT> <Error> <Security> <server1.corp.com> <App1> <ExecuteThread: '2' for queue: 'weblogic.socket.Muxer'> <<WLS Kernel>> <> <BEA-090513> <ServerIdentity failed validation, downgrading to anonymous.>
              From what I have read, looks like we need to establish Domain Trust between the 2.
              My questions:
              1. Is this just a nuisance of a message which can be suppressed somehow ?
              2. What are the other ramifications of this (enabling Domain Trust) ? I don't want to open up some kind of security hole etc.
              3. An other way (apart from establishing Domain Trust) this can be fixed.
              Thanx,

    And also the admin shows Health status of others OK very slowly it may take more than 30mins for all servers(13) to show the Heath state as OK untill then it shows Not reachable..

  • Deleted failed DC from the domain (Server 2012 R2) - Now after doing metadata and DNS cleanup, I can no longer promote a new DC to the domain

    I work for a university and teach IT courses to undergrad and graduate students. The details below are pertaining an isolated lab environment
    I had a storage failure in my lab and the DCs became corrupt. This is a university lab environment so there isn't anything crucial on here. I just would rather avoid rebuilding the domain/forest and would rather use this as a learning experience with my
    students...
    So after the storage failed and was restored, the VMs hosted became corrupt. I did a NTDSUTIL to basically repair the NDTS.dit file but one of my DCs reverted to a state before DC promotion. Naturally, the domain still had this object in AD. After numerous
    failed attempts at trying to reinstall the DC on the server through the server manager wizard in 2012 R2, I decided that a metadata cleanup of the old failed object was necessary.
    Utilizing this article, I removed all references of the failed DC from both AD and DNS (http://www.petri.com/delete_failed_dcs_from_ad.htm)
    So now that the failed object is removed completely from the domain and the metadata cleanup was successful, I then proceeded to re-install the necessary AD DS role on the server and re-promote to the existing domain. Pre-Requisites pass but generate some
    warning around DNS Delgation, and Dynamic Updates (delegation is ignored because the lab is isolated from external comms, and dynamic updates are in fact enabled on both my _msdcs and root domain zones).
    Upon the promotion process, I get the following error message (also worth mentioning - the account performing these operations is a member of DA, EA, and Schema Admins)
    The operation failed because:
    Active Directory Domain Services could not create the NTDS Settings object for this Active Directory Domain Controller CN=NTDS Settings,CN=domainVMDC1,CN=Servers,CN=Default-
    First-Site-Name,CN=Sites,CN=Configuration,DC=domain,DC=school,DC=edu on the remote AD DC domainVMDC2. Ensure the provided network credentials have sufficient permissions.
    "While processing a change to the DNS Host Name for an object, the Service Principal Name values could not be kept in sync."
    As you can see, this error seems odd considering. Now that I'm down to a single DC and DNS server, the sync should be corrected. I've run a repadmin /syncall and it completed successfully. Since then, I've run dcdiags and dumped those to a text as well and

    From what I can gather, there is a definite DNS issue but I don't have any stale records to the old DC stored anywhere. I've tried this with a new server as well and get similar errors...
    At this rate I'm ready to rebuild the entire forest over again. I'm just reluctant to do so as I want to make this a learning experience for the students.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    As you can see, there seems to be some errors. The one that I did correct was the one around the _msdcs NS record being unable to resolve. For whatever, reason the name wasn't resolving the IP but all other NS tabs and records were. Just that one _msdcs
    sub-zone. Furthermore, the mentioning of any connections to root hint servers can be viewed as false positives. There is no external comms to this lab so no communication with outside IPs can be expected. Lastly, they mentioned a connectivity issue yet mention
    that I should check the firewall settings. All three profiles are disabled in Windows Firewall (as they have been the entire time). Thank you in advance for your help!

  • Column Validation on Single Line of Text

    I have a sharepoint input form in SP2013, which contains text field with below properties
    1. Type: Single line of Text
    2. Under Column validation
     =AND(ISNUMBER([Column name]+0),ISERROR(FIND(".",[Column name],1)))
    On form submit, the above condition evaluates and throws an error if field value is non numeric field.(This is expected and working fine)
    I also want to add another condition that should not allow preceding zero
    example: it should throw error on 0122343(any number starting with zero)

    You should achieve that with the following formula :
    =AND(AND(ISNUMBER([Column name]+0);ISERROR(FIND(".",[Column name],1)));LEFT([Column name],1) <> "0")
    If the first character of your column is 0 it fails validation

    Hi Anuj,
    I tried doing that but in Response, it is echoing back the request after the statement:
    The invocation resulted in an error: .
    And now it shows:

  • Failed validation as a level hierarchy

    Hi,
    I have dimension called SKU in my analytic workspace with a hierarchy PRODUCTS defined as ALLPRODUCTS<--MD<--MG<--PG<--STYLE<--PRODUCT. I have used composite keys as Members to maintain uniqueness. For example the member expression for PG is CUBE_DEV.DIMSKU.MDID || CUBE_DEV.DIMSKU.MGID || CUBE_DEV.DIMSKU.PGID. I'm not using Surrogate keys. When I hit the maintain Dimension SKU, LOAD NO SYNCH succeeds but the compile step fails with error
    "INI: error creating a definition manager, Generic at TxsOqConnection::generic<BuildProcess>INI: XOQ-01712: "SKU.PRODUCTS" failed validation as a level hierarchy., Generic at TxsOqStdFormCommand::execute"
    I looked at the rejected records and every record has the error "(XSRWLD13) Cannot change the level of a dimension member within a single load." Can anyone help me resolving this issue ?
    I'm using AWM 11.2.0.1.0 on Oracle 11g R2 server.
    Thanks,
    RK

    David,
    I looked at the data and found out that there were NULLs in many key columns. I updated all of them to the value 'Unknown'. Also I re-implemented Composite keys because I thought Type 2 dimension would pose problem in determining uniqueness. Now there are no errors and I could successfully load data into the dimension.

  • Direct Access Troubleshooting: Failed to connect to domain sysvol share

    Hi, I've been setting up DirectAccess on windows server 2012 r2, using the single interface setup and have successfully connected to the intranet passing all important troubleshooting tests.
    Now when troubleshooting the internet connection I am facing the following error:
    Failed to connect to domain sysvol share
    Here is the stack trace:

    To troubleshoot I run:
     "netsh dns show state"
    - machine location correctly shows as outside corporate network
     "netsh namespace show effectivepolicy"
    - neither entries show Certification Authority.
    - .premiernic.com lists ipv6 addresses for DNS servers, cy-da-01.premiernic.com does not
    - proxy settings are correct
    - in both cases IPSec is disabled
    "ipconfig /all"
    - Shows Teredo Tunneling used as ipv6 transition technology
    "nltest /dsget:
    - getting dc name failed, no such domain
    Anyone got any ideas what may be going wrong?

    Hi Steven, thanks for your answer.
    When connected to the internet, i can ping the IPV6 DNS server addresses. When I try nslookup <aninternalFQDN> <IPV6DNS> i get a time-out. Same applies when testing the same commands from DirectAccess server.
    Note that now, when looking at operation status, I see DNS as not operational and not responding to requests.
    Finally, I check my server security logs for IPSec and find the following error (code 4653).
    IPSec Main Negotiation failed
    Failure location: Local computer
    Failure reason: No Policy Configured
    Verifying the infrastructure tunnel
    Following the guide provided in the link, i first check whether the client can successfully create the tunnel. As expected I am able to see all the expected client policies in connection security rules(pt.3).
    However, when I look at Monitoring \ Connection Security (pt.4) i don't see DirectAccess Policy-ClientToDnsDc (but
    I do see directaccess policy-ClientToDNS64NAT64PrefixExemption).
    I then run netsh
    advfirewall monitor show currentprofile where I only see my public profile with my ISP settings, which to my understanding is correct.
    When I run netsh advfirewall monitor show mmsa main mode shows computer cert and user ntlm for auth.
    When I run netsh advfirewall monitor show qmsa  quick mode shows remote address as expected.
    When I run nltest /dsgetdc: /force on client machine i get "getting dc name failed", however from my directaccess server to dc command completes successfully.
    Verifying the intranet tunnel
    When running net view \\IntranetFileServer I
    see an offline share (would be online if accessible). Web interface wont load for the same system.
    When running netsh advfirewall monitor show mmsa and qmsa everything is as expected.
    Conclusions
    Couldn't find anything in either server firewall rules or gateway that would be blocking dns.
    I think the culprit is the following:
    IPSec negotiation failed - no policy found (on server)
    Missing DirectAccess Policy - ClientToDnsDc
    I've done a couple of gpupdates on both client and server, and double checked gpresult. Nothing seems out of order, except no refernce to to clienttodnsdc. Still nothing.
    Anybody?

  • Amplitube 2 "Failed Validation" HELP

    Hello all. I just received my knew Amplitube 2 software today, installed it just fine, but when I opened Logic Pro 8 up Amplitube 2 failed validation in the Audio Units manager. I had this happen to me before with ik multimedia's Ampeg SVX, but I still could find and use it within Logic. Not the case now with Amplitube 2. When SVX was installed on my G5 I never got a failed validation, but now in my iMac it happens every time. The big problem is I can't find or open the Amplitube 2 so therefore I can't register the darn thing.....this *****!! HELP PLEASE....HELP PLEASE! Thank you.

    I just had a similar thing happen with another IK Multimedia product. It turns out the AU was not Universal Binary, so I had to download a newer version so I could register.
    First, you can go to http://www.ikmultimedia.com/registration. That's the URL on your registration card. Enter your software serial number along with the rest of the stuff, but leave the Digital ID field blank, as per the form's instructions ( +"If you choose Option 1, leave this field blank, complete all the other required fields, and click 'Submit'"+ ). Your software will then be registered, allowing you to access the download area where you'll find the latest version. Now, you should be able to run the standalone AmpliTube 2 application and go through the authorization process.
    That said, however, the AmpliTube 2 plugin still does not work in Logic for me. I have to use it through AmpliTube X-Gear, which came with my Total Guitar & Bass bundle. Since AmpliTube X-Gear runs all my IK guitar plugins (AmpliTube 2, SVX, Jimi Hendrix, etc.) through a single interface, I never bothered (or had the need) to have AmpliTube 2 pass validation.
    In summary, you can register your software using the above steps, then try validating it through Logic. If it doesn't work, you can at least contact their tech support as a registered user. Otherwise, get AmpliTube X-Gear...
    I just checked their website. This may interest you:
    +"For a limited period, all registered users of at least one “Powered by AmpliTube” product* including AmpliTube 2, Ampeg® SVX, AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix™, AmpliTube Metal and AmpliTube 2 Live will also receive a free download of AmpliTube X-GEAR in their User Area"+

  • Sudden failed authentications for user@domain

    Hello,
    We are running 6 ACS 4.1 servers on Windows 2003 Servers. These servers are not the same as the Domain Controllers.
    Since many years, we have devices sending their username in the format domain\user and some other use user@domain. Everything was working well in our 6 ACS servers.
    Suddenly, this morning, as 06:00:25, on one single server, all the request using user@domain were reported as failed with the follwowing message in the ACS logs: "External DB user invalid or bad password".
    We first thought that the DC near the ACS server was the cause of the issue, but we observe that all the other ACS servers could process these user@domain AAA queries without problem. We then rebooted the ACS server and when it went back up, everything was running again like a charm.
    We could not find what happened at 06:00:25. There is no Windows Scheduled Tasks at that time, and there is no ACS DB Replication or Backup running at that time neither.
    Can someone help us troubleshooting that issue that affected only one single server in an unexpected way ?
    Thanks a lot,
    David Mayor

    Hello Anisha,
    I understand that with new installation, such post tasks are required. However, our installation is running in such a state for more than 2 or 3 years. And it is only over the past week that such problem happens twice.
    We have also observed one more thing: You know that the main problem started few seconds after 6 AM, in both days when it happened. We observed that between 00:02 (midnight + about 2 minutes) and 01:05 AM, the same problems happens also ! But, at 01:05 AM, the problem automatically goes away without any intervention. However, when it happens again at 6 AM, we have to restart the server, because otherwise it would not automatically recover.
    Didn't you find anything else than "error Windows authentication FAILED (error 1326L)" on the full log ?
    Thanks a lot,
    With my very best regards,
    David Mayor
