Begin with new BO 4 Java sdk

Hi all,
I have to begin to use the new API 4.0 to upgrade our project which are using the API 3.x.
It's my first use of the API.
I simply will follow an example but I get an error (program on my local computer) :
try {
               URL boConURL = new URL("http://<Server>/dswsbobje/services/");
               Connection boConnection = new Connection(boConURL);
               EnterpriseCredential boCredential = EnterpriseCredential.Factory.newInstance();
               boCredential.setLogin("user");
               boCredential.setPassword("passwd");
               Session boSession = new Session(boConnection);
               SessionInfo boSI = boSession.login(boCredential);
          catch(Exception e) {
               System.out.println(e.getMessage());
               e.printStackTrace();
I get the following error :
login exception (Error: WSE 99999)
org.apache.axis2.AxisFault: login exception (Error: WSE 99999)
     at com.businessobjects.dsws.Consumer.CreateAxisFault(Unknown Source)
     at com.businessobjects.dsws.Consumer.propagateAsDSWSException(Unknown Source)
     at com.businessobjects.dsws.session.Session.login(Unknown Source)
     at be.degroof.test.TestAPI.main(TestAPI.java:24)
Do I miss something?
In fact, it seems my collega was using the ReportEngine to refresh report and download them and it will be deprecated in the next API 4.0?
Thanks in advance for all your help !

Use:
URL boConURL = new URL("http://<Server>/dswsbobje/services/Session");
and not
http://<Server>/dswsbobje/services/Session
Also are you possibly missing the port in the address? If dswsbobje is deployed on default tomcat in 4.0, the address should be:
http://servername:8080/dswsbobje/services/Session
Also make sure you have added all the 4.0 WS consumer SDK Jar files to your project's classpath.

    I had a generic record class that has a HashMap to hold the data fields (...)
    method called createRecord() for each record type which would populate the HashMap with the correct data fieldsI'm not sure I understand: are the contents of this field map the same between two records of the same type? Then yes, you don't need to clone the map per record instance.
    one thing that needs fixing is the fact that each time the createRecord() method is called I'm creating a new fieldMap to define the dataFields in the record class.Probably, but that will only get you a little bigger files; you won't gain an order of magnitude on the size of files. The problem for huge files is that as soon as their content is bigger than the available memory, you'll run into problems. A more radical approach if you need to address huge files is to process the records on the fly, and not load all records in memory. Of course not all algorithms or business logic can afford that...
    I know I could rewrite the code and create a class for each record type and declare the fieldMap static but I was wondering if anyone had any better suggestions The Record instance could receive and keep a reference to its RecordType instance, and ask the RecordType instance the DataType for a field's name. That way the RecordType encapsulates the map, and there's less risk that a clumsy other class modifies the static map.
    before I go rewriting a load of code.A load of code?!? Even with the idea of the static map, you only have to edit the enum type (well more accurately, each RecordType enumerated constant's createRecord() method).

  • New install ERP2005 - Java SDK 32bit or 64bit?

    We are about to install our ERP 2005 system after a major RAID5 problem with our discs.
    Now I saw that for the previous installation an 32bit version of JAVA SDK was used on our 64bit hardware server system.
    For a portal I installed recently I found an 64bit version of JAVA on the sun site via
    a sapnote (which I cannot remember directly). (j2sdk-1_4_2_13-windows-amd64.exe)
    Is it best to use the 64bit version of JAVA SDK or is it best to stick with the 32bit version for our 64bit hardware?
    Can somebody shed a light on this issue/question?
    Thank you for replying.
    PS Points will be rewarded for helpfull answers!

    Hi again
    As per note 716604, which is valid for windows 64 bits (x86 and itanium):
    -> For Windows and Solaris x86 (64 bit) the SDK is available solely for SAP
    and its customers. On Windows it can be used starting with NW04 SR1. In note 941595 it is described how to get this SDK.
    -> You can find the Windows 64-bit Itanium SDK on the Sun website. The link is: http://java.sun.com/products/archive/j2se/1.4.2/

  • Troubles with newer releases of Java

    At home, I am running Windows XP and at school I am using a Windows 98 SE computer to do my Java work on. On both computers they have the 1.40_01 SDK installed and I'm using jEdit on both of the computers. For some reason, I can compile .java files, but I can't run anything. I keep getting errors with the main method, but the method is correct. I also cannot view applets through the browser. Most of my project in in Swing, so creating a html file for viewing the applet isn't a problem.
    Any Suggestions?

    You say you can compile right?
    But when you run your compiled program, you "keep getting errors with the main method",
    but then you go on to say, "but the method is correct". That's a bit confusing.
    I think if you want any help, you're gonna have to post those errors, even if those errors are in error!
    Seriously though, I do nearly the same thing it sounds like you do, I have all my programs, etc... on one zip disk, and use it between different machines and operating systems to program, including XP. I've been doing this for about a year now without any problem. I'm pretty sure you've got an error in the program somewhere. You should post the code and errors, otherwise it's pretty hard for people to try to help you.
    Oh, wait a sec, if you're 1000% sure your code is ok, but you get errors when you run it, maybe your classpath is wrong. I bet that's it. The error you're getting may even suggest that.

  • How to replace namespace tag with new value using -JAVA MAPPING

    Hi Guys,
    I need to replace namespace Tag in Target xml with a new value.
    For Eg: My namespace Tag is - <ns0:TestHeader xmlns:ns0="http://0020.TestHeader.SS.com">
    I want My target xml to have value- <ns0:TestHeader>
    How can i achieve it using JAVA mapping?
    Can you provide me the code to do so.

    Sarjana,
    Not well-formed XML is only possible by Java Mapping. Please use below replace logic in Java map.
    inputContent.replaceAll("<ns0:TestHeader xmlns:ns0=\"http://0020.TestHeader.SS.com\">", "<ns0:TestHeader>");

  • How to open a URL that begins with news://

    Hi, everyone!
    It seems a silly question, but how to open it?
    URL is here: news://news.gmane.org:119/gmane.editors.lyx.general

    That's a URL for a usenet group. Those aren't used very much anymore (except by some true diehards), and it's likely your ISP doesn't even provide the service directly, though there are ways to access them via the web. In your case, click here.
    If you wanted to configure your browser to handle them, well, it would help to know what browser you're using. For Firefox, you could try the instructions here, but I'd guess it wasn't worth it, unless you had to deal with such links often.

  • Issue about BI JAVA SDK-SOAP request failed with return message 2147483653

    Dear Experts,
    I'm trying to use BI JAVA SDK to connect BW by using XMLA connector.
    But there's an error messaet said :
    SOAP request failed with return message 2147483653 ( Invalid MDX command with INCLUDING)
    I'm really new to this JAVA SDK, and after searching help in SAP Service Market and Google, there's no helpful suggestion.
    please help me about how to fix this error.
    Here is my code:

          Cube cube = olap.getObjectFinder().
          findCubeFirst((String)null, "ZFI_C11/ZFI_C11_Q001");

        // cube on which this example relies was retrieved
        if (cube==null){
            System.out.println("no cube found");
    // Didn't print out this message, seems it can connect to BW and get the InfoCube and Query.
        Dimension plantDimension = olap.getObjectFinder().
        findDimensionFirst(cube, "ZPLANT");
      Dimension materialDimension = olap.getObjectFinder().
        findDimensionFirst(cube, "ZMATERIAL");

      commandProcessor.moveDimensionToRows(materialDimension);
      IBIDataSet dataset = query.execute(); // After execute this statement, error happens.
    Thank you!

    Solved myself, it's because the query used in my code have user input variable.

  • SAP BO Report Scheduling and Save as report using Java SDK

    Hi All,
    We have a java product which is integrated with SAP BO using Java SDK and we have certain java screen through which we select report prompt values and webi report gets run.
    Now we want to give a functionality to save report to BO repository.
    When user select certain check box from java screen a separate copy of the webi report should get saved under default folder on BO repository.
    Also, we want user to choose the scheduling option from java screen only (and not the one which we use from BI Launchpad) due to certain access restriction. User does not have access to BI Launchpad. Only he can run report by selecting values through Java screen.
    If i need to create a separate screen for scheduling as well as saving webi report then also i am ok with it.
    P.S. i guess we need to work on Java SDK level. But could somebody please help me with the right direction?
    Let me know in case requirement is not clear.

    Hi Ketan,
    As you are on version BI 4.0 SP5 and would be migrating to BI 4.1, the best SDKs to use would be the Restful Webservices SDKs.
    You have the options to schedule a webi report with prompts as well as the save feature which you require.
    Please refer to the webi restful guides avialble at
    For BI 4.0 SP5
    http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir4/en/xi4sp5_webi_restful_ws_en.pdf
    For BI 4.1 SP4

    Refer to the below blog to understand the Restfull Webservices SDKs.

  • Newbie help with 12i and firefox java issue

    We are in the testing stages for a 12i upgrade. I’m currently testing browser and java version compatibility using an upgraded test system. My problem is the version of java on the desktop client. IE7 will launch the apps fine with any version of java. However, any version of Firefox (including just released v3) will not launch java unless java version 5 update 13 is loaded. I’ve reviewed several metalink docs including 389422.1 and 393931.1 and have used the workaround listed forcing FF to use the older version of java. However, that means that we will have to roll out this older version of java to all clients to use Firefox. During my research I found where Oracle provides a techstack update for 11i (290807.1) that will fix this issue and allow Firefox to work with newer versions of java. Has anyone else run into this issue and if so how did you address it? Is there a 12i update that will fix this issue? I’m a newbie that’s started supporting Oracle, etc. so forgive me for any ignorance I show on the subject. Thanks in advance.

    Tod,
    It sounds like your Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 instance is configured to request end-users to use JRE 1.5.0_13.
    Firefox has a known limitation (or feature, depending on your point of view): it will invoke only the specified JRE version requested by the E-Business Suite, even if later versions of the JRE (e.g. 1.6.0_03) are installed on the same desktop.
    This behaviour is explained in more detail in Note 290807.1 in Appendix A. Since this behaviour is hardcoded into Firefox, your options are:
    1. Configure your Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 environment to request a later version of JRE installed on your Firefox-equipped desktops
    2. Use IE -- it doesn't enforce static versioning.
    3. Contact the Mozilla team and request that they provide a new option to use either static versioning (the status quo) or the latest JRE version installed on the desktop.

    Steven

  • BI Java SDK - query parameters

    Hello.
    I`m using BI Java SDK to develop a custom Java Swing Application to integrate with the SAP BW 3.5
    I need to replicate the BW query in Java Application and execute this in the Java Side.
    My question is: ...can i replicate the initial screen of the BW query in Java Application  ?
    The initial screen of bw query with the filters and parameters to execute the query in Java side.
    How i capture the filters and paramenters of BW query in BI Java SDK ?
    Best Regards.
    Taylor

    We have a problem with the API BI Java SDK.
    In my application, i using the swing and BI Java SDK to list al cubes and execute the queries.
    The tutorials in "BI Java SDK Examples page" are in "Hard Coded" for all itens, parameters, cubes, mdx Queries ...etc !!!
    When i try to execute the query i need add all dimensions in rows to set in moveDimensionToRows in IBICommandProcessor Class
    This the sample code and the problem:
    //Create olap Query and Commandprocessor
    IBIQuery query = olap.createQuery(cube);
    IBICommandProcessor commandProcessor = query.getCommandProcessor();
    //Here i set the dimension in "hard Coded", but my application captures this automatically to set the dimensions.
    Dimension dimension1 = olap.getObjectFinder().findDimensionFirst(cube, "0CALMONTH");
    Dimension dimension2 = olap.getObjectFinder().findDimensionFirst(cube, "EPINSTALA__0UCRATE_CAT");
    // Here i move the (dimension1 and dimension2 to rows. <-- THE PROBLEM IS HERE - How to capture only dimensions in rows to set in moveDimensionRows ???
    commandProcessor.moveDimensionToRows(dimension2);
    commandProcessor.moveDimensionToRows(dimension1);
    // Execute the query and retrieve the result set.
    IBIDataSet dataset = query.execute();
    Problem --> When i try to execute the query without set moveDimensionToRows, this return only the global result of query (1 row only).
    To return all data in my Grid (JTable), i need to set moveDimensionToRows.
    How i can capture only the rows dimensions to set in moveDimensionToRows and collum dimension ???
    How to separate row dimension and collum dimension???
    thanks...

  • How to create a report with data using the Crystal Reports for Java SDK

    Hi,
    How do I create a report with data that can be displayed via the Crystal Report for Java SDK and the Viewers API?
    I am writing my own report designer, and would like to use the Crystal Runtime Engine to display my report in DHTML, PDF, and Excel formats.  I can create my own report through the following code snippet:
    ReportClientDocument boReportClientDocument = new ReportClientDocument();
    boReportClientDocument.newDocument();
    However, I cannot find a way to add data elements to the report without specifying an RPT file.  Is this possible?  I seems like it is since the Eclipse Plug In allows you to specify your database parameters when creating an RPT file.
    is there a way to do this through these packages?
    com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.data
    com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.definition
    Am I forced to create a RPT file for the different table and column structures I have?

    com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.lib.ReportDefControllerException: The field was not found.---- Error code:-2147213283 Error code name:invalidFieldObject
    How do I add one of the table.SetDataFields()  to my report to be displayed?

  • Having trouble with creation of a cloud service with multiple virtual machines using java sdk.

    I am creating a cloud service on azure with 2 virtual machines using java sdk API. Service created successfully.
    My input endpoint details are as follows.
    INPUT ENDPOINTS
    Head : 191.238.144.47:2400
    Head : 191.238.144.47:22
    Node0 : 191.238.144.47:43211
    For Head instance port 2400 is for HTTPS and port 22 is for SSH and for Node0 instance port 43211 is for SSH.
    But I am having problem with doing a ssh on Head instance. Sometimes it works sometimes doesn't. Same problem with HTTPS also.
    I have some application running over there but when i try to access it thru browser sometimes it works but most of the time doesn't. When I restart the instances from azure portal, its works after
    that(not always but most of the time).
    Now I am confused what is going on there. I am creating cloud service and virtual machines using java sdk and setting input endpoints also. After creation of all instances i restart every instance programmatically .
    I am not sure whether restart is required or not. It must be something to do with input endpoints only but not able to get the right thing i guess. When i do the same thing thru azure portal(creation of cloud service with virtual machines and setting up input

  • Performance problems with new Java Tiger style recommendations

    Performance problems with jdk 1.5 on Linux plattform
    (not tested on Windows, might be the same)
    using the new style recommendations.
    I need fast Vector loops for high speed mathematical calculations, some
    hints about the fastest way to program that loop would be also great!
    After refactoring using the new features from java 1.5 (as recommended from
    SUN) I lost performance significantly:
    using a vector:
    public Vector<unit> units;
    The new code (recommended from SUN for Java Tiger for redesign):
    for (unit u: units) u.accumulate();
    runs more than 30% slower than the old code:
    for (int i = 0; i < units.size(); i++) units.elementAt(i).accumulate();
    I expected the opposite.
    Is there any information available that helps?
    The following additional information I got from Mr. Shankar Unni:
    I got some fairly anomalous results comparing ArrayList and Vector: for the
    1.5-style loops, ArrayList was faster then Vector, but for a loop with get()
    calls, Vector was faster. Vector was even faster than that using
    elementAt(), which was a surprise:
    For a million summing iterations over a 100-element array:
    vector elementAt loop took 3446 ms.
    vector get loop took 3796 ms.
    vector iterator loop took 5469 ms.
    arraylist get loop took 4136 ms.
    arraylist iterator loop took 4668 ms.

  • Error when trying to create a new object that begins with Z

    Hi forum,
    When I try to create a new BW object that begins with Z (infofuente, infoarea, component application), I skip the following error.
    Namespace''is not a valid namespace BI
    Message no. R7017
    Diagnosis
    Namespace''must be entered in both the BI RSNSPACE table and the basic table TRSNSPACE or the view V_TRNSPACE. You also have to enter the relevant generation namespace '& V2' in TRNSPACE table. This value is taken from table RSNSPACE.
    Both namespaces must be set to 'Changeable' - providing they are not empty.
    Response System
    You can not edit or create an object in this namespace.
    Procedure
    Use a different name.
    Or contacct your system administrator. He / she can switch to the namespaces' Changeable 'using SE06 transaction, or - if they do not already exist - enter them in the table above named using sm30 transaction.
    If the namespace '& V1' is empty, then the problem is with the generation namespace '/ BIC /'.
    Procedure for System Administration
    I've been following steps said to me, and yet I still persisted error. I am probably missing something ... that may be?
    A greeting,

    Hi,
    Try to create the objects again and take the screenshot of SU53 when you get the error and see the authorization object for which you are getting the error here.
    It is possible that you dont have development authorization.
    Also the issue could be that the system is not configured to create the objects begining with Z.
    Check this with basis as well.
    Thanks
    Ajeet
