Being charged a premium for rsd repair prioity

just took my black macbook for the rsd (finally got fed up). now, the guy at the counter said for it to be looked at I'd have to wait until Sept 19th (one week away) but if I paid a premium (not covered by apple care) I could get it looked at right away. so, I grudgingly pay my 67 CAD, and leave my macbook. I get a call maybe 45 mins later saying that it has the rsd issue and it needs a new logic board (like I didn't know and that's what I wrote on the work order) and they'll order the parts today but it will take 5 days (good luck ) for it to arrive. So my question is, are they allowed to charge extra, for jumping the que to diagnose something I already knew/told them about? which is probably going to take who knows how long to get the parts and fix anyway??? By the way there were two others taking their MB in for the same problem. I don't think they paid the premium and are waiting a week before they get their machines looked at and 'diagnosed' - what a joke.

i didnt think of this earlier, but its strange to me that they would suggest you pay more for service even though your warranty clearly gives you the right to quick service. personally i think procare is sort of a sham, but its apple's right to do so, since they are a business after all, and i guess its worth it to some, since they do in fact pay for it. but thing is, if you complain enough and give them a sob story about your computer, they dont have any way to wiggle out of that dilemma, so they usually help you quickly.

  • IPad 2 Wifi + 3G, being charged by Verizon for use?

    I just bought an iPad 2 64gb Wifi + 3G model from Best Buy.  They did not tell me much about it, as I had done some research before buying it and did not need much information on it.  My original intent was to purchase only the 64gb with Wifi, they only had the 64gb in wifi + 3G, so I got that instead.  I just turned on the iPad 2 and connected it to iTunes to get started.  It is showing I am connected to Verizon 3G, until I turned on my wifi connection from my home. 
    My question is, am I being charged by Verizon or anyone for useage of the iPad?  I do not have a Verizon account or anything, not did I sign anything.  Just wondering if my credit card will be charged or I will receive a bill next month for something I was unaware of.
    The Best Buy guy did mention that the 3G is a "pay as you go" kind of thing only when you are using it.  Where can I find more info on this, including the "pay as you go" prices?
    I will hardly be using 3G, seeing as I have a Wifi connection nearly everywhere I go, but in travels between wifi connections, I do not want my 3G to be running and me be paying for something.

    It's not because you are connected to Verizon that can actually use their network without paying.
    If you haven't signed up to a data plan with them, how can they charge you for anything?
    Launch Settings and turn off the cellular data, if you are not interested in using that service.

  • Here in the UK I have a iphone 4s, and am being charged by 3 for iMessages.

    They say that these are being sent as SMS even though that this is turned off in settings. Is this right?
    I thought the whole idea was that this was free.
    The messages are blue, and come up with iMessage when sending to a friend with an iPhone 5 in Germany!
    Any advice would be good, as I am being charged a fortune from the carrier 3!

    First of all you should be connected to the internet, secondly, 3G or wifi it doesn't matter which you are connected to.  If iMessanger is down for some reason or you can't connect to it, and you have the option of sending a text off it will give you a message "cannot deliver" or something in those regards.  You can try again later.
    You will be billed in that case

    I know I am probably beating a dead turkey here but the on line manual has nothing when I search for "quitting applications". I found the following on this discussions history but it is referring to fixing a problem. My question is concerning normal sequence of steps for web browsing.

    It is unclear to me; should I "quit" Safari after I am done looking at a web page. Apparently to do this I hold down the home button. I don't quite understand how the Edge charges are applied. Lets say I bring up a web page for a local TV station's weather page.
    I load the page, look at it and want to be sure I am no longer being charged. What do I do? I have only tried this once because I don't want to pay astronomical fees. I have yet to go to a free WiFi. What I did after viewing the local TV station's page is I turned my phone completely off hoping it would stop me from being robbed.
    Q: after I load a page if I don't move around it or change the view size etc. am I still being charged or is the data down load complete and that is that?
    Q: then if I move on to say playing music on the iPod app. or just start a timer for my tea and walk away is Safari still running like a taxi meter or what?
    Q: If I have more than one web page open am I being charged, if using Edge, the whole time I have those pages in my "Multiple Webpages at Once" list even while they are not visible on the screen?
    I think the on line manual should go into this in more detail.

    I am on GoPhone pay as I go for now. I fear the local TV weather page does refresh so the info is up to date over time.
    One person here said it is possible to send up to $30 for three minutes. I don't want to get caught paying ump teen for sixty minutes or worse; over night.
    Ok it seems if I close the multiple pages even if they refresh then I don't need to worry about them and if I leave them and they refresh I get charged a bit more each time.
    The manual says I cannot close the last page so this means I must use the press the Home button and hold until what? If I merely press the home button without holding I go to the home page so how can I be sure I have "Quit" Safari.

  • Being charged £22.50 for BT Sport HD

    For the last 2 months (1st July and 4th August) £22.50 has been taken from my bank account for BT Sport HD when I should only be charged £15. I phoned BT after the first payment of £22.50 was taken and the woman I spoke to said she put it on the system back down to £15 and after a month I could request a refund on the extrra £7.50 that was taken. Now this month BT have taken £22.50 again. 
    Why is this?

    I am a Verizon client since 13 months.
    I moved in January and ask to move my service. I thought it was done, but in fact I was just connected to the service of the previous renter. So when his service was cut on the 23rd of January I was without Internet. The tech from Verizon came and told me that was a mistake from the first tech that came earlier in January. Internet was back... I was so happy... Until I realize that for this I was charged 182$... And the only answer I get for the billing service is: "the charge is valid"...
    I am so disappointed with that but I can't get any answer from them, and they don't want to hear me...
    Did anyone have a similar experience and had a better result than me?

    When I am in the android app the unit price is shown correctly as 0.159 AUD, however after sending a single message, my account shows:

    Which is completely unexpected given the other two price listings.
    What went wrong?

    Hello, could someone clarify this for me please?
    I am in the process of switchine Line Rental and Broadband to another provider (only because BT cannot match their offer for equal service/usage, not because I have been unhappy about the service provided).
    I am not in contract with BT anymore, but I am being charged £30, just for switching provider. When I called BT, they said that this was a charge every provider will ask for, but I checked with the new company, and they know nothing about this. They also said that it was Openreach, therefore not a problem BT can look at. On the Open reach website, they send me back to BT to deal with any billing problems, as they only deal with physical problems on the lines. 
    I have also found a link about cancelling broadband with BT and it states: 
    (search 'Cancellation' in search bar, then click on 'I don't understand my final bill' )
    - Your final bill will include usage charges, plus rental up to the date the line stopped.
    If you're still in contract you may also have a cancellation charge. -
    Now, there is no mention of a £30 charge for switching...
    Moreover, I cannot find any mention to it anywhere...
    I feel like BT is unfairlry charging me and trying to get a few pounds more out of me... I have had no issues with BT before, and really wouldn't want to leave with a bitter taste...
    Has anyone had that issue? Can anyone clarify this to me?

    If you requested a MAC code and used it there should not be a £30 charge  to BT your ISP to pass on to you.
    If on the other hand you cancelled your broadband then a £30 charge would be applied for the work to disconnect at the exchange.
    The charge would apply if you were moving to a cable provider. Which is clearly stated in the cease charges.
    if you have had a £30 charge and you believe you should not have(you used a MAC) then I can only suggest you contact the mods.

  • Work not done and being charged for it

    I am being charged 541 dollars for my first month on comcast. I was originally quoted a payment of 143.00 but was billed for 206 and no one can tell me why. I then received another bill bringing my payment to 541 this was done because the original technician had me sign papers saying that he set up new lines (NOPE), had 5 cable boxes (nope) and put in cable in a home with cable service before(nope).  Has anyone had this problem, the first technicina told me he was a contracter and couldn't do any of those things yet he put it through like he had. He also left a cable box, still in the package in a bedroom with no furniture or TV, since I just bought this home.
