Customizing Benefits and Payments iview in ESS Portal

Hi Guys ;
I am working on ESS portal.
I want to add new links and textviews in the Benefits and Payments iview. After adding them I want to rearrange their positions with respect to existing fields on the iview.
I tried by opening the preview of iview from
Content Administration -> portal Content -> ESS->iviews ->Benefits and Payments iview.
Then I selected an existing link on the preview of iview and did ctrl + right click but when I select any uielement and click on rearrange I don't get any filed inthe table to rearrange its empty.
Is there any particular node in UI element tree to be selected to rearrange the fieldst?
Please reply I am in a fix.

1) How can employee know when their benefits should start (cant enter start date via ESS)
- It appears that they need to enter a start date but cannot
Typically, EEs are not allowed to enter a start date for benefits coverage. The start date usually depends on the type of enrollment.
If it is a new hire enrollment - the start date for benefits coverage will be the employee start date.
If it is open enrollment - the start date for benefits coverage will be the beginning of the following year (open enrollment is done usually towards the end of the current year - for benefits coverages of the following year)
If it is a generic enrollment (for example - birth of a new child) - the start date will be the beginning date of the corresponding adjustment reason (IT0378 record start date).
2) For insurance enrollment, why does BASIC COVERAGE show ZERO amount. Can we remove if we can?
This is a generic screen used for all the plans and hence it shows ZERO amount. You may choose to customize the code if you want to.
3) We need to relabel some of these plans we set up for HSA - how can we do that?
This can be done by changing the corresponding texts in the benefits configuration. The webdynpro application reads it from there.

SAP HR Benefits and Payroll Integration

This is the first time i am posting in HR, i am new to HR Benefits, i need to configure the Benefits and Payroll Integration in my client. I don't know how to do that one, if any body have configuration steps or any article please share with me.

Hi,
Under SPRO -> Payroll -> Country Payroll -> Benefits, are the options u must configure.
Be sure to create wage types copying the standard ones.
In this case is better that you copy wage types from the standard option
In table V_T512Z, select infotype 0167 to see permitted wage types, your new wage type must be in this group.
Value of the wage type will be automatically taken from the benefits cost configuration.
You must assign a wage type for a plan.

Financial report for essbase and planning application

Hi,
Can any one please explain me what is the difference between creating financial report for essbase application and planning application.
Considering we will have Essbase cube for the planning application

Correct, the data that is stored in Essbase will be the same regardless of which connection type you use.
Data that is only stored in Planning can only be retrieved using a Planning connection. This includes Supporting Detail and SmartLists as these are stored in the Planning relational database.
As a general rule I always use an Essbase connection unless i specifically want to get supporting detail or smartlists but that is just me.

Iam working on Rolling Forecast for Actual and Plan report.. My Planning here is Quaterly based so for example say we plan it on April so the months after april (May - Dec) would be Planning. So when my month keeps on moving the forecase also moves..

My client ask for using same account for GR/IR account and all planned cost clearing account.
i try to convince it should be different accounts but he needs a logical answer.

Just call yur provider and they will set it up with you.

Actual and Plan Versions annual view - Multiple versions per company code

Good Day,
Iu2019m creating an FI-CO query with an annual view of both Actuals and Plan Values, which uses period and version as input values. The dilemma is around the plan versions which are hardcoded per company codes (eg. 1 Company Code = versions 501 u2013 512)
Can anyone suggest a possible solutions as normally there is only one version used for planning but in this instance there are multiple versions per Company Code.
Currently the report is hardcoded for one Company Code and going forward it should cater for more than one(Company Company* 12 Version)

Remove restriction on comp code. There could be 2 models.
1. Include comp code, value type and version in the rows. This way you get multiple records for a comp code. One record for actual data and one record each for plan versions. To have this model at the query, the data model in the cube also should be in this way (what we call as the account model), multiple records differentiated into actual/plan by valuetype and different versions by version.
2. Include comp code in rows. Create selections, one for actuals (restrict with key fig and value type 10, actuals), one for each plan versions (restrict key fig with value type 20, version 501. Create one selection for each version this way). This way we have one record per comp code with diff key fig for actual and plan versions. We call this as key fig model. To have this model at the query, the data model in the cube could be account model or key fig model. If it is key fig model then no need of selections. The key fig could be taken directly from the cube.

Getting an error while activating a planning area "Enter values for planning horizon From and planning horizon To for the storage time profile level"

Dear S&OP community,
I am getting following error while creating a planning ares in a newly installed sandbox. "Enter values for planning horizon From and planning horizon To for the storage time profile level".
This what I did...
1) Created new attributes and master data objects and activated them successfully.
2) Time profile created and activated successfully
3) Trying to create planing area by assigning time profile in step 2 and assigned master data from step1..Unable to save the data and system returns
this error - "Enter values for planning horizon From and planning horizon To for the storage time profile level"
My understanding is time profile needs to be active but doesn't have to have values...
Any help is appreciated.

Business Rules and Planning Login Error

Hi Experts,
Today with the help of our DBA we migrated all the Production Planning Oracle database to Planning development database.
But after all, we restarted all the services and after that when we are connecting to the Console and Planning application we are getting log in erros and in console it is successfully opening all the administration services but giving fail to login to HBR.
When i login into the Planning application I am getting this error.
"Unsuccessful logon check for details"
We are using Planning 4x and Essbase 7x.
Please suggest me.

I guess I did not read your post carefully before this. Did you just copy application databases or planning system database too? You probably just needed to copy application databases for copy applications from prod to dev.
You cannot log in because of difference in user authentication. when you add a user to any system, it translates that userid into a ID that identifies the user according to external system you may be using. However, if you are using PROD to connect to prod MSAD but using dev to connect to dev MSAD (or other), they potentially resolve in different internal IDs. My suggestion would be to drop planning tables and recreate/reconfigure planning in dev. Then create your applications in dev. After creating application shells, you can ask DBA to copy database for applications into application databases followed by copying essbase apps from prod to dev. For HBR, you should just export rules from PROD and import to DEV. Its more involved but much cleaner.

and Planning tool (MAP) to aid in identifying any software and hardware issues. Apparently this tool has been recently updated (7/2014) and cannot be installed on a Windows Server 2003 system. As it requires .NET Framework 4.5 to run. Unfortunately,
.NET Framework 4.5 cannot be installed on a Windows Server 2003 as it only supports .NET 4.0.x versions. All older version links to the MAP tool have been updated to link directly to version 9.1. Where can I get a MAP tool version that will run
on Windows Server 2003?

After the environment scan has been completed in Windows Server 2008r2 or another supported OS, MAP looks at computers running earlier versions of Windows.

I clear the temporary files, but the error persist.
