Benefits: Employee Eligibility: Hire Date Override

Hi, I have defined employee eligibility to use Hire Date Override to read from IT0041. However, when I run transaction HRBEN0001 for enrolment (i use this as default plan), I do not see the plans being offered if the selection date is before the Hire Date Override date (only shows if it is after). Can I configure such that I can see these plan offers, but with validity period reading from the Hire Date Override date?
Example of the problem:
Hire Date Override Date: 01/02/2008
If
a) Selection Date: 01/01/2008
-> Plans not offered
b) Selection Date: 01/02/2008 or later
-> Plans are offered
Note: the configuration in IMG is set such that the option for "Immediate Enrolment" is selected in the eligibility rule

The effective dates are related to date tracking. The effective start date shows when this version of the record became effective.
The Hire Date, or Latest Satrt Date shows the date on which the employee was last hired. If he was hired before from 01/01/01 to 31/12/01, then left but was hired again from 01/01/07, the Latest Hired Date would be 01/01/07 and the First Hired Date would be 01/01/01.
When using Oracle HR, datetracking allows you to either correct data (because it was wrong or incomplete), or update it (because a time effective change took place e.g. got married).
The[b] effective dates show when a record was updated. So, if an update was made on 07/02/07, and the update datetrack option was used, the current record would have its effective end date set to 06/02/07 (the day before the update) and a new version would be created with the updates and an effective start date of 07/02/07.

Hi,
I have a an employee with the following life events.
Intially the Employee has Employee Only Option
1) 28-Feb-2010 -- New Child --> Emp+Children --> Child Cvg Start Date --28-Dec-2010
2) 01-JAN-2011 -- Open --> Emp+ Children --> Emp CVg Start Date -- 01-Jan-2011 and Dep Cvg Start Date 01-jan-2011
3) 01-APr-2011 -- Marriage --> Emp+Family --> The Cvg start date of the Child is Changed to 01-APr-2011 and the Employee CVG start date also changed to 01-apr-2011
I am curious to find why did the child coverage start date changed to 01-APr-2011 and we have added spouse only in the marriage life event and changed the
option from Emp+Children to EMp-Family

Hi Shivam,
You have mentioned previously that Ct. is triggering the Gain Dep. LE by adding a new dependent child. This means that the person already had a life event in started status which enabled the Family Member page and allowed the user to add a dependent.
If so, then there might be a Collapsing Logic defined between the Current LE[Say New Hire or Open] and the Gain Dependent. [I have seen this setup with most of the Ct.'s].
So, there is a good chance that instead of the Gain Dependent, the Current LE will be reprocessed and hence is taking the setup of Current LE instead of GD.

Function Module to change employee's entry date

Is there a function module to change the employee's entry/hire date?
I just know in the menu of transactio PA30, there are a 'Utilities' and I can change there, but since I need to implement into an ABAP program, so I need a function module to handle this.

Function Module to change start of infotypes when hire date changed in HCM

Hello Guys,
I have a scenarion where in i need to change the start of the infotypes(Ex IT0001,2,7,41.105 etc) for an employee in the program with new hire date. For this already one BDC is there with PA41 recording but for some scenarios it is not working. I am searching for a FM to overcome the issue. Coudl any one pls help me if you have the same problem eralier.

This way we need to change all the infotypes with this FM in the program which are there in PA41 to change the date, I am looking a direct FM whicn can do the functionality of PA41 in instead of BDC.

How to Update employee Effective Start Date

Guys
i am getting error while making terminate of an employee the error is being occurred as "the Person Must Exist as an Employee at the Time Specified by date start". after lot of finding, Ii came to know that the problem is being occur due to mismatch effective start date & original date of hire. so i need to update effective start date instead of Date Start(Hire date).Can you tell any one, Which api need to use update for this issue,

There is no API to update effective Start Date column.
Your case falls into the type of data corruption in application tables. You either need to correct the data by yourself or take the help of Oracle support to correct the person data.
If you decide to correct the data without taking help from Oracle support, you can always take help of these forums in doing the same. we will be more than happy to help you. :)

Read Hire date in TIME Schema

Hi All,
In our company we have the following requirement
Employees hired before Nov 1at 2008 gets 32 more hours of vacation than the regular employees.
My question is how to read hire date in schema and compare it against Nov1st 2008?
We can use HRS function to get the difference between info type 41 hire date to todayu2019su2019 date.
But is there a way I can read hire date and compare it against the Nov 1st 2008 date?
Any pointers will be appreciated

Hi,
Usually the employee hire date is stored on info type 0041 subtype 01 - technical date of entry. This can be read in the time schema using the Y functions of the operation HRS.
I suggest you put this date on the employee records for IT0001 and read it from there instead of hard coding dates in the schema which is the other option.

use Actions infotype for that Table PA0000
Please have a look on infotype 0000 (Actions)
You will get Joining Or Hire
use field MASSN and specify the value which is being used in your company and get the latest record you so Begin Date will be HIRE Date for that PERNR..
Also consider Employee Status STAT2 = 3 (Active)...
Also try with FM RP_GET_HIRE_DATE

HR-PA Personnel Administration Adjusted Hire date not in std extractor?

All,
Does anybody know if the dates in PA0041, like adjusted hire date, Original hire date, Severance date, etc are available in extractors? I have been doing BW for some time, but am new to HR. I don't want extend the 0employee data source with these dates unless I have to. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

We are attaching documents through the employee personal master data
PA30, Our client wants to know where exactly these attachments are
getting saved; Our SAP environment is ECC6.0 on AIX 5.3. so i exactly would like to know what is the exact path where these documents are getting saved on AIX machine.
I would appreciate if you can tell us where exactly these documents are
getting saved at OS level, any particular file system you think,
because I probed in but couldnu2019t find where exactly there are on the
OS..

hello,
SAP generally recommends that you store employee documents with a bar code. You can find the documentation to 'Storage Within Personnel Administration' using the following path:
=> Help => SAP Library => Human Resources => Personnel Management (PA)=> Personnel Administration (PA-PA) => Storage Within Personnel Administration (PA-PA)
In the SAP Standard it is not possible to tie original documents to specific personnel numbers in the PA30 transaction. The only exceptions are two specific scenarios where you can tie original documents in the PA30 transaction:
1. late storing with bar code
2. late storing without bar code
During both scenarios you start out in the Trx PA30. If the bar code entry is deactivated the actual key data will have to be transferred to the document in any case, otherwise you will be asked to enter a barcode again. Therefore the document would be transferred to the scanning location and then assigned to a specific business object.
Unfortunately it is NOT possible to upload a document directly into archive in the PA30 any other way.
Let me emphasize once more that PA30 can not be used for storing infotype specific documents. Via the special scenarios mentioned already by my colleague you are able to assign documents to the specific infotypes but the storing has to be completed outside of PA30.
Using the option Extras -> Assign facsimile in PA30 will be interpreted by the system as start for late scanning with barcode thus the error message.

Could you help me in querrying hire date in a PCR.
I need to differentiate b/w EEs who joined from 1st-15th of a month to the ones who joined in the later part of the month.

what about this quick idea - use VARSTREDAY in PCR rule and make 01, 02, . . . .31 as a result from query. Continue with wtriting the rows and choose some time type. Store the value 1 into the time type. Then put a HRS query with the chosen time type before the VARST - it will prevent the rule to check itself over again. Store the time type into SALDO. If you generate qoutas according to some time types, then the time type can also be stored in the PCR rule with Varst. Then you need to solve roll-over if the qouta needs to be generated the next year.
ex.
HRS=BZZZ1
HRS?1
= nothing
VARSTREDAY
01 HRS=1
01 ADDDBZZZ1
01 HRS=1
01 ADDDBQBAS (time type for qouta base)
It is not some smooth solution but it should work.

How to calculate number of days between fixed date and hire date in schema

i want to calculate the number of days between a fixed date en the hire date (infotype 041)
If i read the documentation right, i should use the following command:
HRS=YDXA02
Variable 3 (the x) is the fixed data.
My question is how do i program the variable x?
Let's say the date 01.01.2008

I assume we are talking about PCR for payroll. In this case look at documentation for operation NUM:

     Date types are taken from table T548Y.
Your operation would look like:
NUM=Faaesb
      F          Fixed indicator for deadline calculation

                    the second position is left blank.
         e          Unit, in which the duration is calculated:
                    T = days
                    W = week
s         End date of period to be calculated:
          (blank) End of current payroll period
          J        End of current calendar year
          A        Start of current calendar year
          B        Start of WPBP period
         No other specifications are possible.
So it depends on what kind of fixed date you need.

Error when mapping start date to hire date in GTC

i'm trying to use gtc trusted recon to provision users in OIM. i am trying to include a start date in my flat file and mapping that to Hire Date on the OIM column in the gtc connector.
i'm seeing the following exception:

I've tried a couple of different things here. I first tried supplying the start date field in my flat file with my source data format as yyyy/MM/dd hh:mm:ss z
and the value in the file as 2011/03/29 06:30:00 EDT. when that didn't work, I set the variable in the staging of the gtc to a literal value (2011/03/29 06:30:00 EDT) instead of getting it from source. But in both instances I'm seeing the above exception. anyone seen this before

rajiv, you are saying to create a new user defined field which i would then map my start date field in gtc to?
first question with this approach is, shouldn't i be able to use the OOTB Hire Date? Or are you saying this is a bug in OIM
second, i did try your suggestion, but it is still not working. i'm no longer seeing that error, but at the same time i'm not seeing any exceptions in any of the logs
