  • SAP best practise to use transportation component

    Hi,
    I need to know when should be the shipment created after delivery? When Shipment create for group of deliveries?
    Indeed I would like to know the SAP best practices to use transportation component. Please forward if you have any related links which describe the SAP best practice to use transportation component.
    Thanks,
    Victor

    Dear Victor,
    The shipment document will be created after delivery creation but before Post Goods Issue(PGI).
    When the deliveries belongs to the same route you can create shipment document for group of deliveries.
    For more information go through this Help link it will help you,

  • Best approach to using command link from within a custom component

    I have created a navigation component "Menu" , used as follows:
    <custom:menu />The contents of menu are stored in an xml file and the Menu component delegates the rendering to a custom renderer, which basicaly writes out html links. (Actually, the component does a lot more, but I'm simplifying to get to the point.).
    Sometimes, I need to render a command link instead of a regular html link. I don't want to re-invent the wheel here, so I want to delegate this to the standard command link components.
    Approach 1: create child components within the Menu component constructor, e.g.
    HtmlCommandLink c = new HtmlCommandLink();
              MethodExpression e = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getApplication().getExpressionFactory().
                   createMethodExpression(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getELContext(),
                   "#{registrationEditor.enterSubmission}",
                   String.class,
                   new Class[] { });
              c.setActionExpression(e);
              c.setValue("TestLink");
              c.setTransient(true);
              getChildren().add(c);Approach 2: delegate to the CommandLinkRenderer within my custom renderer, e.g.CommandLinkRenderer delegate = new CommandLinkRenderer();
                        HtmlCommandLink link = new HtmlCommandLink();
                        ExpressionFactory elFactory =
                             FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getApplication().getExpressionFactory();
                        MethodExpression actionExpression =
                             elFactory.createMethodExpression(context.getELContext(), c.getExpression(), String.class, new Class[] {});
                        link.setActionExpression(actionExpression);
                        link.setParent(component.getParent());
                        link.setValue(c.getLabel());
                        delegate.encodeBegin(context, link);
                        delegate.encodeChildren(context, link);
                        delegate.encodeEnd(context, link);Is either of these a respectable approach - they feel a little hackish. If so, which do you prefer. If not, what do you recommend?
    Thanks
    Richard

    I think either is a fine approach and not at all hackish. I prefer the second, although I couldn't tell you why (just a gut feeling). That said, I haven't tried either so there may be hidden problems. My main concern would be what happens when the request is submitted from the page, that the Restore View phase is done correctly so that the proper event is fired.

  • What is the best format to use on an external hard drive so I can both back up my Macbook Pro and also put movies on it from another hard drive (PC)?

    I am looking for a solution to whether if it is best to get two hard drives or one that can do two things that I want.
    I am looking for a hard drive format that can both back up my 500GB Macbook Pro but I was also wondering if I could also put movies on it from another hard drive that is PC based. Would partitioning the hard drive work for this? I don't know what are the best formats to use.
    If this is too hard it might just be easier having a separate 500GB hard drive for back up of my Mac and another bigger hard drive for the movies etc (the files are probably bigger than 4GB). Any help would be greatly appreciated as I need to make a decision soon!

    Csound1 wrote:
    Microsoft has not released the official exFAT file system specification, and a restrictive license from Microsoft is required in order to make and distribute exFAT implementations. Microsoft also asserts patents on exFAT which make it impossible to re-implement its functionality in a compatible way without violating a large percentage of them.[13] This renders the implementation, distribution, and use of exFAT as a part of free or open-source operating systems or of commercial software, for which the vendors could not obtain a license from Microsoft, not only technically difficult, but legally impossible in countries that recognize United States software patents.
    Can't help with that, if one is using a Windows machine then they are subjected to their rules and control.
    Limited support outside Windows and Mac OS X operating systems as of 2012, when most consumer electronic devices could only handleFAT12/FAT16/FAT32, rendering exFAT (and flash memory formats using it) impractical as a universal exchange format.
    The OP said they plan to store movies on the external drive.
    Many movies today are well over 4GB in size, thus exFAT has to be used and formatted on the PC, which the Mac can then read.
    Older Windows NT versions up to Windows Vista without Service Pack 1 do not support exFAT.
    Irrelevant, Microsoft provides a free download of exFAT for Windows XP, and Vista shouldn't be running on pre SP1 anyway.
    Some distributions of Linux have begun to include support for exFAT. It is however, only available as a file system in user space, as it's not supported by the kernel.
    Irrelevant, OP is using Windows and OS X, not Linux and if they did Linux can read the files at least and transfer, which is all they care about really.
    Windows Vista is unable to use exFAT drives for ReadyBoost. Windows 7 removes this limitation, enabling ReadyBoost caches larger than 4 GiB.[14]
    Irrelevant, the OP's is intending to use it as transfer drive between Mac's and Windows for movies.
    The standard exFAT implementation only uses a single file allocation table and free space map. FAT file systems instead used alternating tables, as this allowed recovery of the file system if the media was ejected during a write (which occurs frequently in practice with removable media). The optional TexFAT component adds support for additional backup tables and maps, but may not be supported.
    Some relevancy, but only exFAT can handle 4GB+ files between Mac's and PC's, so the need outweighs the possible problem.
    The OP needs to follow the standard Windows practice of "safely removing hardware" before physically disconnecting the external drive. If a write is occurring, it won't allow disconnecting until the write is finished.
    Support for up to 2,796,202 files per subdirectory only.[1][nb 3] Microsoft documents a limit of 65,534 files per sub-directory for their FAT32 implementation, but other operating systems have no special limit for the number of files in a FAT32 directory. FAT32 implementations in other operating systems allow an unlimited number of files up to the number of available clusters (that is, up to 268,304,373 files on volumes without long filenames).[nb 4]
    Not a issue, only in extreme cases of a lot of small files. The OP plans to use it for movies which are usually large and take up a lot of space on the drive.
    IMMO It looks like you just ran off and copied something to argue your point when all the points are basically irrelevant.
    There is only one format that can easily share 4GB sized files between Mac's and PC's without further complications.
    It's ALSO possible to install MacDrive on the PC and format the drive on the Mac HFS+, but I didn't recommend that because I know it's a hassle just like third party NTFS writing software is a hassle on Mac's.
    If you so anti-Microsoft format, then you must know Paragon has to pay a license fee to Microsoft for using the NTFS format.
    At least with exFAT there is no fee to Redmond, at least not yet.

  • Best Practice for using multiple models

    Hi Buddies,
         Can u tell me the best practices for using multiple models in single WD application?
        Means --> I am using 3 RFCs on single application for my function. Each time i am importing that RFC model under
        WD --->Models and i did model binding seperately to Component Controller. Is this is the right way to impliment  multiple            models  in single application ?

    It very much depends on your design, but One RFC per model is definitely a no no.
    Refer to this document to understand how should you use the model in most efficient way.

  • How best we can use the Rollback and RollbackAlways mechanism in Visual Studio Release Management Template

    Hello All,
    We need a clarification on Rollback and RollbackAlways in Release template.
    We checked a scenario for Rollback and RollbackAlways:
    In Release Template, we have the first activity as “Configure Application Pool” and then followed by a rollback action of “Create Application Pool”
    and “Create Web Site” then followed by "Code Deployment" via TFS build.
    We tested with 2 scenario’s:
    With App Pool and Web Site already existing: when triggered the build, configure
    app pool succeeded, then Rollback action was skipped (as previous action was successful), finally deploy the code executed (code deployed) and build got succeeded.
    Deleted App Pool and Web Site: when triggered the build, configure app pool failed (as no app pool existed), Rollback action executed (as previous action failed) – created app pool and web site then finally
    deploy the code executed (code deployed)
    But build failed (Error: Configure app pool action failed).
    Ideally the build should succeed as the roll back action got executed and code deployed successfully.
    Please correct us if our understanding is wrong.
    Also, Kindly let us know how best we can use the Rollback and RollbackAlways mechanism in Release Management
    Looking forward for your positive response.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,

    Hi Shashank,
    Rollback Always runs if any of the actions in the template failed. Rollback will run if action just above rollback fails or if any of the actions below the Rollback fails.
    Article here (http://www.incyclesoftware.com/2014/03/understanding-rollbacks-release-management/) clearly explains how Rollback and Rollback
    Always work.
    I think you come across this issue since you are using build to do the "code deployment" action. You should use the release template to do that.
    As far as I know you cannot use Rollback to achieve condition check (App pool exist in your case) action.
    For this you can create your own Power Shell component (which checks if the app pool exist and is not create it) and add it as a tool in RM server (RM Server Inventory).
    Another option is you can follow the workaround in below thread "Answer" quoted below. That is execute Remove app pool regardless if it exist or not (which does not fail) and then create app pool.
    I was able to get it working by removing the app pool which does not fail if it doesn't exist. Removing then creating seems the long way around but it works.
    Flow:
    Remove Application Pool
    Create Application Pool

  • Best way to use Models

    Hello,
    What is the best practice when using models? Given a scenario like, 1 project has several components. Each component has its view, windows, etc, since the components are separated by functionality.
    Is it better to create a model, then add that model to the "used models" on each component? Or should I create a different component, that will handle the model, and expose its data via context on its interface?
    regards,
    arnold

    Hello Arnold,
    I have read in one of the SAP Documents, If Models are used in Different Projects (Diff DC's) then create in Separate DC for Models and use it in all the projects.
    If Models are in used in one DC with different components, use it with used models.
    Regards,

  • Fce, what is the best format to use?

    have the home movie on dvd which I am pulling off with either handbrake or streamclip. what setting do I use for the output? the mac guy in my pro lesson mentioned there are many diff mpeg4s...but then wouldn't elaborate because even though it MY HOME MOVIE, that I SHOT MYSELF, and is on dvd, that it is illegal and he can't talk about it since by definition dvd is encoded and that is against the law...and to write my congressman to change the law....yet I don't feel like waiting that long to see if someone can tell me what is the best quality to use.
    also, I am now using my sanyo c6 which puts it onto an sd card, which I can connect via usb2 and bring right in...is that ok quality, or is that also not so hot?
    thanks,
    Dan

    The video & audio on playable DVDs are encoded as MPEG2. It is not DV video, it is MPEG2 video. MPEG2 video is a totally different format from DV and is much more highly compressed than DV.
    To convert a DVD's MPEG2 format to the DV format needed by FCE, you need a tool such as MPEG Streamclip. Streamclip is capable of converting many different video formats to DV however if you need to convert MPEG2 video to DV it relies on QuickTime. The error message you are getting is that your system does not have the QuickTime MPEG2 Playback Component, which you will have to purchase from Apple ($19) if you want to use Streamclip to convert MPEG2 videos to DV.
    DVDxDV and DVDxDV Pro are good products but they are respectively $25 and $80. The Pro version is a better choice than the regular version imho because it has more features and will give your converted files timecode. Not absolutely necessary, but very nice to have. The more video editing you do the more you will appreciate having timecode. Streamclip is free and the QT MPEG2 Playback Component is $19.

  • Best scenario to use variable inspection and attributive inspection

    Hello!
    Can anyone help me with a practical example of difference between attributive inspection and variable inspection by s-method? What are the best scenarios to use them repectively?

    variable inspection :Variable inspection is in SAP terms Quantitative inspection means have some value which is variable & can be measured .Examples can be very wide range like say in mechanical companies like auto industry components needs to be inspection in micron with Upper & lower limits.Like 12 mm + 0.001 / - 0.002 etc.
    These could be the scenarios where you need to comply with upper & lower limits.
    Attributive inspection:In SAP terms its Qualitative type means can not be measured but can be derived or compared.Like Go-NoGo gauge,Yes -No ,Pass-Fail etc etc.
    scenarios are mostly in mechanical or Elec industry where such values need to be monitored.Like say A equipment pass or fail in a certain test char. or say a component has surface finish problems etc which can only be seen or compared.

    There should be a User Agent Switcher menu item under Tools, which gives you the browser names you can impersonate.
    The menu item name changes to the browser UA you are presently using.
    There is also a User Agent Switcher button, you can add it using View -> Toolbars -> Customize, and dragging the button to your toolbar.
    See http://chrispederick.com/work/user-agent-switcher/features/ and http://chrispederick.com/work/user-agent-switcher/help/
    You can just start trying IE versions (or the versions it says on the site) until it lets you in.

  • What's is the best way to use iPhoto? I need to understand.

    What's is the best way to use iPhoto? I need to understand.
    I guess the iPhoto is only for people with 5,000 of personal photos.
    Or even 200,000, but they can't use this app everyday.
    I'm not talk about working as a photographer. They use Aperture.
    They may use iPhoto like a family album that you take a look sometimes.
    And don't care about putting photos from the camera or from internet everyday.
    I have tons of music and I love iTunes 8, works great. So I tried but I can't stand iPhoto anymore.
    I have over 173,000 photos. My goal is organize, have total control, crop in Preview and delete them fast as I can.
    The iPhoto is too slow. And is not only about performance, more RAM... but the whole concept.
    Finder is much better/richer/flexible to organize than iPhoto.
    I'm not talking about the photographer workflow.
    And I'm not talking about editing and all these great photo features, the search, and all the iLife environment. They are amazing.
    When I'm iPhoto, I feel like a prisioner.
    I can't open an album/folder/event alone just to take a look, without do lanch the iPhoto app with the all thousand photos together. And it's slow.
    I can't use Quick Look there.
    So, I'll use Finder for manage/crop/etc. But what's the best way to use iPhoto in my case? Put the best/key ones there to use in iLife/MobileMe? To do a more serious editing? I like the features: keywords/ratings/hidden photos/events... It would be cool this features in Finder.
    For example:
    iMovie: Manage movies? NO. It's editng only.
    iTunes: Manage music/small video/podcast...? OK. Editing the song? OK for tags/convert/artwork/equalizer... For music there's a GarageBand of course.
    iPhoto: Manage photos? Yes and No.
    I think Finder would kill iPhoto incoporating all the editing features in Preview and the rich manage in Finder.
    Jobs said that no one care about iDVD anymore. They care about the web.
    Using iMovie to export to MobileMe.
    Maybe iPhoto become less important in a near future. With a better Finder+Preview Right?
    Sorry for this long text with a short question.
    Thanks.

    Your post demonstrates exactly why I keep saying that iPhoto is not the application for you.
    It would be better an iPhoto organizing photos by words like when iTunes browse his music.
    Why on earth would anyone want to organise photos by words? A list mode is entirely pointless in a Photo application. That's like having an old photo album organised with the photos facing inwards so you can read the back of the picture.
    Again, this is a characteristic of a File browser. You don't want a Photo organiser, you want a file organiser.
    And, in iPhoto, you can search by tags, effortlessly in either the search box or by using a Smart Album.
    iPhoto always loads all that events and all the thumbs library to scroll, and I think it's overkill.
    So, how is iPhoto to know which ones you want to work with today? Open a library, get the Library.
    Would be better a Cover Flow option to browsing in Events.
    You've obviously never tried scrubbing along the Event icon.
    Imagine iTunes using Cover Flow mode all the time. It won't be too useful.
    Many, many people do, including myself on a library of 20k tracks totalling more that 100 gigs, and find it very useful. Same with the Finder.
    And if when iTunes Store starts to sell photos?
    Why on earth would the iTunes store start to sell photos?
    My photos are not junk,
    I didn't say there were. Read my post again.
    When I said Finder to crop photos I mean Preview. But I feel in Finder. Because what's in Preview? A photo opened with a Preview's menubar and some cocoa APIs like adjustments. Not?
    Oh, so you don't count Preview as an application. Fine. It is an application but you don't feel it. As you wish.
    My point to you is very simple: Because of the way you want to organise your pics - using lists views and so on - iPhoto is not the application for you. Don't use it. But you keep writing things about the application that are untrue, and I'm aware that other folks search these forums and I don't want them to have inaccurate information about iPhoto.
    Regards
    TD

    Can someone explain whats the best way to use 2 iphones on 1 Mac.
    2 different Calendars, 2 different adressbooks, etc., 1 iTunes Library, 1 Photo Library
    But it would be great to see each others Calendars
    Until now one mobileme Account.
    Thanks in advance

    I'm hoonesstly not sure about the second mobile me account. My guess would be that you will need another one though. The only way to see her calendar is to log into her user account. Not a problem if you have her password.

  • What are the best practices for using the enhancement framework?

    Hello enhancement framework experts,
    Recently, my company upgraded to SAP NW 7.1 EhP6.  This presents us with the capability to use the enhancement framework.
    A couple of senior programmers were asked to deliver a guideline for use of the framework.  They published the following statement:
    "SAP does not guarantee the validity of the enhancement points in future releases/versions. As a result, any implemented enhancement points may require significant work during upgrades. So, enhancement points should essentially be used as an alternative to core modifications, which is a rare scenario.".
    I am looking for confirmation or contradiction to the statement  "SAP does not guarantee the validity of enhancement points in future releases/versions..." .  Is this a true statement for both implicit and explicit enhancement points?
    Is the impact of activated explicit and implicit enhancements much greater to an SAP upgrade than BAdi's and user exits?
    Is there any SAP published guidelines/best practices for use of the enhancement framework?
    Thank you,
    Kimberly
