Best Event-Based notifications for Sox Complience?

We are looking for the best way to send notifications to various people to comply with sox controls.  For instance, we need to send certain data when and employee is terminated, hired, changes jobs, locations or supervisors.  We have considered Alerts, but they are very generic and cannot be formatted, unless someone has additional information.  Is there a way to format an alert message?
Another option, possibly using Life Event Checklists, not sure if we can provide employee data in the notifications to satisfy the requirement.  Is there a way to pull in a message that contains employee specific data?
All information is appreciated.
Thank you,
Patty

Hi Patty,
If you're using 12.1, you can try Checklists.
Everything explained in detail :
Understanding and Using Life Event Checklists in Oracle HRMS R12 [ID 740618.1]
Another option is to use an audit tool( audit-trial or a third-party solution)
You can audit all the data and then base your reports on the audit data.

  • Event based monitoring for xmonad

    I am using a conky + dzen2 status bar and xmonad DynamicLog hook for monitoring.
    What I am looking for is something event based not like conky which runs all the time or at a given interval.
    As an example, volume of the audio system. I want to display it continuously but I want to change the display only when it changes. Another example would be keyboard layout.
    Any idea ?

  • How to Send Event Based Notifications in the iRecruitment

    Hi,
    When internal Employee apply for any job, once the person type changes to the Employee.applicant, supervisor should get the notification. I came to know that we can achive this with the irecruitment events.
    But i am not clear about the steps to perform.
    Please any one provide the steps to configure this notifications in the irecruitment Module.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Thanks and Regards,
    Joshna.

    If you wish to do this via subscribing to one of the seeded iRecruitment workflow events, Anil Passi has written a good article on subscribing to workflow events:
    http://oracle.anilpassi.com/workflows-business-events-training-lesson-4-2.html
    It's not iRecruitment specific but should get you going.

  • Notification for reconciliation events.

    I have configured the task in the Design console for receiving the email notification for the recon events (insert and update) for xellerate User process form.
    The steps that I followed are:
    In the Design Console add the email notification information in the Reconciliation Insert Received (or Reconciliation Update Received) process task for Xellerate User:
    a. Open Process Management - Process Definition and query for "Xellerate User"
    b. Double-click on the box to the left of the task "Reconciliation Insert Received" (or "Reconciliation Update Received").
    c. In the pop-up window, click on the Assignment tab and configure to use the default rule, target type User, and set the "User" column to the login of the user who should receive the email notifications.
    d. Click on the Notification tab and check the "Assignee" checkbox, set the status to "C" for Completed, and then set the Email column to the email template to send.
    I have setup the Email Server IT Resource as well as the email Ids.Still I am not receiving any emails for the events.
    Am i doing something wrong in the design console configuration?
    Any help is appreciated.Thanks

    In Assignment tab - As you have configured assignment of this user to some user, you can configure email as follow
    Scroll right - provide email template name under "Email Name", click on check box "Send Email"
    Run PurgeCache.sh after these changes.

  • How can I stop notifications for calendar events in a shared calendar?

    I have a shared iCal calendar in iCloud. I share it with my wife, so she can see my work schedule. It is a bit annoying though that her iPhone keeps doing all my reminders and notifications for calendar events. I want her to able to see and edit my calendar but she'd like very much not to have her phone buzzing all the time.

    Andrei1,
         So are you saying that if I, rather than assigning a uint to the column and row number for each tile, just assigned a string to each one in the form "#_#" then I could actually just assign the "adjacent" array directly to it instead of using a generic object to hold those values? In this case, my click event would simply check the indexes, one at a time, of all tiles currently stored in my "selectArr" array against the column/row string in the currently selected tile. Am I correct so far? If I am then let's say that "selectArr" is currently holding five tile coordinates (the user has clicked on five adjacent tiles thus far) and a sixth one is being evaluated now:
    Current "selectArr" values:
           1_0
           1_1, 2_1, 3_1
                  2_2
    New tile clicked:
           1_0
           1_1, 2_1, 3_1
                  2_2
                  2_3
    Coordinate search:
           1_-1
    0_0, 1_0, 2_0, 3_0
    0_1, 1_1, 2_1, 3_1, 4_1
           1_2, 2_2, 3_2
                  2_3
         Essentially what is happening here is that the new tile is checking all four coordinates/indexes belonging to each of the five tiles stored in the "selectArr" array as it tries to find a match for one of its own (which it does for the tile at coordinate 2_2). Thus the new tile at coordinate 2_3 would be marked as valid and added to the "selectArr" array as we wait for the next tile to be clicked and validated. Is this correct?

  • How to set a default start and/or end date for New Events based on trigger date.

    I'm using the CalendarActivityListener to get current row when clicking on an existing event. As per previous posts this listener gives you access to event detail including Start Date, End Date, etc.
    However, what I want to do is to default the start (and end) dates for New Events based on the trigger date.
    I've tried the CalendarListener and can grab the Trigger Date from it - however, I can't see a way to pass this directly to the popup/dialog I'm using to create the new event.
    At present I'm putting the TriggerDate into the ADFContext session scope e.g. ADFContext.getCurrent().getSessionScope().put("TriggerDate",calendarEvent.getTriggerDate());
    Then, I've tried multiple approaches to try and "get" the TriggerDate from session scope to drop it into my new Calendar Event basically, I'm trying to default the InputField(s) associated with the Start Date using the value from the session - I've tried
    1. setting the default value for the InputField in the jspx using a binding expression i.e. value="#{sessionScope.TriggerDate}" - this actually sets the value appropriately when the jspx is rendered but, when I go to create I get a NPE and I can't debug. I assumed that it might be a Date type issue - it would appear that CalendarListener provides a date of type java.util.Date and that the StartDate attribute of my VO/EO/table is a DATE and therefore requires oracle.jbo.domain.Date so I tried casting it - to no effect
    2. Using a Groovy expression *(StartDate==null?adf.context.sessionScope.TriggerDate:StartDate)* in my calendar's EventVO to default the Start Date to the same result
    Any thoughts or ideas?

    John,
    Thanks for that suggestion - could not get it to work. However, I did manage a different approach. I finally determined the sequence of events in terms of how the various events and listeners fire (I think).
    Basically, the CalendarActivityListener fires, followed by the listener associated with the Calendar object's Create facet, followed finally by the CalendarEventListener - the final is where the TriggerEvent is available and then finally, control is passed to the popup/dialog in the Create facet. So, my approach of trying to set/get the TriggerDate in the user's HTTP session was doomed to failure because it was being get before it had been set :(
    Anyway, I ended up adding a bit of code to the CalendarEvent listener - it grabs the current BindingContext, navigates through the DCBindingContainer to derive an Iterator for the ViewObject which drives the calendar and then grabs the currently active row. I then do a few tests to make sure we're working with a "new" row because I don't want to alter start & end dates associated with an existing calendar entry and then I define the Start and End dates to be the Trigger Date.
    Works just fine. Snippet from the listener follows
    BindingContext bindingContext = BindingContext.getCurrent();+
    *if ( bindingContext != null )    {*+
    DCBindingContainer dcBindings = (DCBindingContainer) bindingContext.getCurrentBindingsEntry();+
    DCIteratorBinding iterator = dcBindings.findIteratorBinding("EventsView1Iterator");+
    Row currentRow = iterator.getCurrentRow();+
    if ( currentRow.getAttribute("StartDate") == null)+
    currentRow.setAttribute("StartDate", calendarEvent.getTriggerDate());+
    if (currentRow.getAttribute("EndDate")==null)+
    currentRow.setAttribute("EndDate", calendarEvent.getTriggerDate());+
    *}*

  • Error handler for event based messaging framework

    I've been very interested in using the event based messaging framework (described here http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Community-Nugget-2009-03-13-An-Event-based-messageing-framework/td-p...) for my next large application.
    My main concern is the fact that it seems like typos would be very difficult to debug since you need to ignore unknown commands to make this system work.
    To solve this problem I've been considering the idea of having a single message error handler VI which will store all valid commands and check all sent commands to see if they are valid.  Each VI would send out a register message on startup with their name and all messages they can send and receive.  The message error handler would store these and then check all future messages to be sure it is a valid message, throwing an error if it is not.
    My basic problem is this: for this to work the message error handler VI would have to be started before any messages are sent so that it can capture all the register events.  If this is a VI that will be continuously running the entire application how can I ensure it starts first since I cannot wait for it to complete? (I.e. the usual method of running an error out wire or using a sequence structure will not work since everything will then wait for it to complete which will not happen until the program is ready to shut down)
    I'm assuming the answer might be to use an asynchronous call but I'm not very familiar with this method.
    Any help is appreciated.  Thanks.

    Could you just use the error handler as a subVI inside a case structure that is only called when you have new message to be checked? I'm not sure I understood the exact functionality you are looking for, so sorry if this does not apply.

  • Documentation for tab.user_data with event based jobs

    Hi,
    Are all the atributes for tab.user_data when used as part of an event based job documented somewhere?
    I have been looking but all I can find are examples rather than explicit documentation.
    Thanks
    Pete

    Hi Pete,
    The type of the object tab.user_data is the type used to create the AQ queue with. So it varies depending on the type you used to create the queue with.
    If you are consuming messages from the scheduler event queue, the type is sys.scheduler$_event_info and to figure out what fields it has you can use
    desc sys.scheduler$_event_info
    Hope this helps,
    Ravi.

  • Calendar-notifications for events in the past

    Since iOS 7, my notifications for an calendar-event in the notification center are gone, if i'm checking them to late. Is it possible to change the settings, so I can see them, until I'm going to delete them?
    If not, is there an alternative calendar-app with push notifications I can use instead?
    Thanks for an answer.

    Hello Ryan,
    I created a small demo which could make the scenario: the event mesage could be delayed:
    using System;
    using System.Collections.Generic;
    using System.Diagnostics;
    using System.Linq;
    using System.Text;
    using System.Threading;
    using System.Threading.Tasks;
    namespace P20150409
    class Program
    static void Main(string[] args)
    EventLog myNewLog = new EventLog("Application", ".", "dotNET Sample App");
    myNewLog.EntryWritten += new EntryWrittenEventHandler(MyOnEntryWritten);
    myNewLog.EnableRaisingEvents = true;
    while (true)
    System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(3000);
    string EventWriteTime = DateTime.Now.ToString();
    Console.WriteLine("Log is written at" + EventWriteTime);
    myNewLog.WriteEntry("Test message written at" + EventWriteTime + " " + System.Threading.Thread.CurrentThread.ManagedThreadId, EventLogEntryType.Information);
    Console.WriteLine();
    Console.ReadLine();
    private static void MyOnEntryWritten(object sender, EntryWrittenEventArgs e)
    System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(6000);
    Console.WriteLine("EntryWritten event is fired at" + DateTime.Now.ToString());
    Console.WriteLine("Log time is" + e.Entry.Message);
    Console.WriteLine();
    This is the result:
    As we can see that the interval between event fired time and the current written time is bigger and bigger, so it could be that an event is fired 2 year later...And for reason, we can see that it is becuase i set the event sleep 6s whenever it
    is fired. So i am wondering in your event, there is a similar feature which causes this delay.

  • Best way to schedule and get notification for plsql job

    hi
    i would like to execute a procedure on weekly basis and want to be notified if the job fails
    which is correct way of doing this?
    1. create user defined metric and call the procedure this way
    2. create scheduler job dbms_scheduler
    the other question is while I have exception handling within plsql procedure, how will the grid agent or dbms_scheduler distinguish between success and failure ?
    do I have to set a variable or execute special command as part of exception handling ?

    Have you researched the ADD_JOB_EMAIL_NOTIFICATION procedure of DBMS_SCHEDULER?
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/appdev.112/e25788/d_sched.htm#BABBFBGI
    This procedure adds e-mail notifications for a job. E-mails are then sent to the specified list of recipients whenever any of the specified job state events is raised.For more information about monitoring jobs, including a description of job logs and job email notifications, look here:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E14072_01/server.112/e10595/scheduse008.htm
    You can configure a job to send e-mail notifications when it changes state. The job state events for which e-mails can be sent are listed in Table 28-13. E-mail notifications can be sent to multiple recipients, and can be triggered by any event in a list of job state events that you specify. You can also provide a filter condition, and only job state events that match the filter condition generate notifications. You can include variables like job owner, job name, event type, error code, and error message in both the subject and body of the message. The Scheduler automatically sets values for these variables before sending the e-mail notification.

  • Getting notifications for groups, based on administrator attributes

    We have multiple development teams who want to subscribe to notifications that are relevant to the targets that they use. We also have an operations team that cares only about notifications for production targets involved in batch jobs.
    What is the approach for doing this?
    We can create groups of targets (i.e. 1 group for each team. )
    But we don't want to set up multiple copies of every notification rule, each tied to one of these target groups. What we would like is to have a notification rule that can connect the relevant targets to an attribute of each administrator. We can use Department or Line of Business, for example, on the target and on the administrator, if that would get us a solution.
    I looked at the 'target privileges' for a user but I did not see anytihng specific to receiving notifications. (Most of our administrators have 'view' access to more targets than they would want notifications for.)
    Is it possible to implement soemthing like this?
    We are using Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12.1.0.2.0.
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Suppose I have Red, Blue, and Green development teams, plus the Operations team.
    I recognize that one approach would be:
    - Create a Red incident rule, which includes only targets of interest to the Red team
    - Create a Blue incident rule, which is just like Red but includes only targets of interest to the Blue team
    - Create a Green incident rule, which is just like Red or Blue but includes only targets of interest to the Green team
    - Create an Operations incident rule, which is just like the above but includes only targets of interest to the Operations team
    and tell the Red team to subscribe to the Red incident rule, etc.
    I think this is what you are suggesting. But to do this, I have created (and must maintain) multiple rules which are clones of each other, except for the targets they apply to.
    I would much rather have one incident rule, that everyone can subscribe to, but notifies each only for the targets that we have somehow associated to each administrator.
    Is this something that can be done? Or is it wishful thinking?

  • How to limit the number of parallel instances of a given event-based job?

    Hi,
    DB version : 11.2.0.3
    I'm using an event-based job with parallel_instances attribute set to true.
    It works perfectly fine, messages are enqueued then dequeued and processed simultaneously by separate instances of the same job.
    Now, I'd like to limit the number of parallel instances of this job running at the same time, say to an arbitrary number n.
    What would be the best way to do that?
    Maybe using a notification callback is a better option in this case?
    Thanks in advance for any input.

  • Query on event based job in a client schema and not SYS schema

    Hi, I am fairly new to oracle job scheduler and wanted your inputs on how to create a event based job that sends a mail based on success of another job.
    I was able to implement this with the jobs being created under SYS schema. I did get email notifcation when errors were logged in exception table.
    However, now the requirement has changed to create the jobs under a client specific schema.
    The jobs got created successfully in CLIENT schema but the event based job is not working. It does not send the email notification.
    I feel this is to do with not correctly subscribing to the event queue {sys.scheduler$_event_queue}.
    Can CLIENT schema use the agent "AGENT" created under SYS to subscribe to the Scheduler event queue {sys.scheduler$_event_queue}? CLIENT is the schema in which the all jobs and procedures are created.
    BEGIN
    DBMS_AQADM.ENABLE_DB_ACCESS('AGENT', 'CLIENT');
    END;
    --Main Job that will load data and errors will be logged into exception table
    BEGIN
    dbms_scheduler.create_job( job_name=> 'CLIENT.LOAD_DATA',
    job_type=>'PLSQL_BLOCK',
    job_action=>'BEGIN  CLIENT.p_loaddata;
    END;',
    start_date=>systimestamp,
    repeat_interval=>'FREQ=MINUTELY;INTERVAL=1;',
    number_of_arguments=>0,
    enabled=> true);
    END;
    --set raise_events attribute = job_succeeded for main job
    BEGIN
    DBMS_SCHEDULER.set_attribute ('CLIENT.LOAD_DATA', 'raise_events', DBMS_SCHEDULER.job_succeeded);
    END;
    --Event Job that will send email based on condition. Condition is checked in procedure CLIENT.p_check_sendmail; If errors are found in the exception table, this job will raise exception and will be JOB_FAILED status. This job will send a email notification.
    BEGIN
    DBMS_SCHEDULER.create_job (       job_name          => 'CLIENT.EMAIL_JOB',
    job_type          => 'PLSQL_BLOCK',
    job_action        => 'BEGIN  CLIENT.p_check_sendmail;                                   END;',
    event_condition  => 'tab.user_data.event_type = ''JOB_SUCCEEDED'' and tab.user_data.object_name = ''LOAD_DATA''',
    queue_spec        => 'sys.scheduler$_event_queue,AGENT',
    enabled          => true);
    END;
    BEGIN
    dbms_scheduler.add_job_email_notification ( job_name => 'CLIENT.EMAIL_JOB',     recipients => '[email protected]',events => 'JOB_FAILED');
    END;
    Is the way i am subscribing to the event queue correct? Could you please share an example/document of event based job in a schema other than SYS and how subscription is being done to event queue?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    It's a good decision you made because you shouldn't create objects in the SYS schema. I see you're using the add_job_email_notification procedure, so I'm assuming you're on 11g onwards.
    This procedure is meant to make the job easy for you. That is, you don't need to worry about setting up AQ, the procedure does it all for you. All you need to do is setup the mail server if not already done, and call this procedure to add the mail notification. That's it.
    You can also specify a filter to the add_job_email_notification procedure, so maybe you could specify directly your CLIENT.LOAD_DATA job to this procedure.

  • BGP Event-Based VPN Import

    Hi Guys,
    I came across this command, but have problem understanding what it does or how to use it:
    Router(config-router-af)# import path selection {all | bestpath [strict] | multipath [strict]}
    It falls under the "BGP Event-Based VPN Import" section:
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/ios/ios_xe/iproute_bgp/configuration/guide/2_xe/irg_xe_book/irg_event_vpn_import_xe.html#wp1059052
    Does anyone know what this does or how this works?

    Hi,
    It specifies the BGP import path selection policy for a specific VRF instance.
    You might be aware on VRF-LITE, that's the VPNs without MPLS.
    BGP Event-Based VPN Import
    The BGP Event-Based VPN Import feature introduces a modification to the existing BGP path import process. BGP Virtual Private Network (VPN) import provides importing functionality for BGP paths where BGP paths are imported from the BGP VPN table into a BGP virtual routing and forwarding (VRF) topology. In the existing path import process, when path updates occur, the import updates are processed during the next scan time, which is a configurable interval of 5 to 15 seconds. The scan time adds a delay in the propagation of routes. The enhanced BGP path import is driven by events; when a BGP path changes, all of its imported copies are updated as soon as processing is available.
    When you use the BGP Event-Based VPN Import feature, convergence times are significantly reduced because provider edge (PE) routers can propagate VPN paths to customer edge (CE) routers without the scan time delay. Configuration changes such as adding imported route targets (RT) to a VRF are not processed immediately, and are still handled during the 60-second periodic scanner pass.
    Import Path Selection Policy
    Event-based VPN import introduces three path selection policies:
    •All—Import all available paths from the exporting net that match any route target (RT) associated with the importing VRF instance.
    •Best path—Import the best available path that matches the RT of the VRF instance. If the best path in the exporting net does not match the RT of the VRF instance, a best available path that matches the RT of the VRF instance is imported.
    •Multipath—Import the best path and all paths marked as multipaths that match the RT of the VRF instance. If there are no best path or multipath matches, then the best available path is selected.
