Best Practise: How to disable an obsolete RFC-Connection?

Hello experts,
Happy new year first of all.
I have a brief question. We have an SRM System which is connected to several 4.x and ECC-systems. As the world changes the systems also changes. From time to time an RFC-connection needs to be set to obsolete because an old 4.x system migrates to an ECC environment. Who do you maintain the RFC-connection of the old system? Just deleting the user and password leads to error entries in the logs files but also deleting the logical system leads to short dumps as for example the BBP_GET_STATUS_2 and the CLEAN_REQREQ_UP job still have the systems somewhere in the cache or in some table. Is there a note which describes the steps necessary on side of SRM when a backend migration takes place or can you give me your experience when you face this problem?
Thanks in advance
Jens

Hi Jens,
This is a very critical activity and SAP has already provided a detailed documentation on this.
You can download from SMP:
Master Guides, Installation Guides, Upgrade Guides for SRM
http://service.sap.com/instguides-->
SAP Business Suite Applications -> SAP SRM
a Choose the SRM version you want
[Set up and System copy of SRM server 5.5 |https://websmp204.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000310782007E/SRM50_SetupTranspCopy.pdf]
Hope this solves your problem.

    BUT as I said above they still get called by unseen forces hidden in OSX without your permission or control, so you still have to delete or otherwise overwrite the following 4 system executables with your own "hello world" or other no-action binary:

    /System/Library/CoreServices/ReportPanic

  • How to disable Deinterlace?

    I have some film based material captured from videotape.
    So it is originally progressive even it is in interlaced mode in the tape.
    I have to do resizing to it (because qt7 does not support non-square pixels in mp4's), so I'm going to use "Frame Controls".
    I'd like to use Resize filter at Best, but how can disable the deinterlacing, without losing any resolution?
    If I set Deinterlace to Fast, it will still do Line averaging, which will decrease picture quality of originally progressive footage.
    If I set it to Best it will take 30sec to compress one frame...
    Help, pretty please?

    I think "legal" DVDs can only have one of three types of audio, either uncompressed PCM, Dolby/AC3 (and I guess DTS), and MPEG1 layer 2. MPEG1 layer 2 is supposed to be popular with PAL material and Apple's support for that format is somewhat limited, so could that be the audio format you have?
    If that's the case I'd just demux your original MPEG2 file to a .m2v and either PCM/AIFF or .m1a/.mp2 (the latter being typical files extensions for MPEG1 layer 2 audio). I don't know if MPEG Streamclip will output from MPEG1 layer 2 to PCM/AIFF but if it doesn't there are utilities that will. Also, you might try a different demux utility if you think Streamclip is failing to maintain the progressive setting in your video. Try the freeware bbDEMUX utility or the $10 shareware program MPEG2 Works. bbDEMUX is getting a little old, but it still works for me. However, its drag and drop interlace doesn't function, thus use file -> open. In addition to demux, MPEG2 Works also does conversion from MPEG1 layer 2 audio to 48KHz WAV and a number of other tasks including both MPEG1 and MPEG2 compression.
    After that, I'd just use Compressor to output directly from the resultant .m2v and PCM/AIFF files. I wouldn't worry (at first) about the 720x540 versus 720x576 issue since Apple's software often seems to report dimension for MPEG2 that are auto-magically adjusted for pixel format. The end result may be fine.
    As for the Frame Controls and deinterlacing, it may be as you suggest (same as source/native field dominance progressive). Why don't you just give it a try and see if it deinterlaces the video or not (that is, if you can't see any difference in the before and after then why worry about it).

  • Best Practise - Monitoring LMS 3.2 - System

    Hi there,
    are there any best practises how to monitor LMS 3.2 system for faulty conditions?
    Is it possible to extract problems like Campus DataCollections was not started, RME-Invenory fails for xxx devices, CW2000-process xyx died unexpected ...
    Is there any script include in LMS usable for system/application monitoring?
    Thanks for your thoughts
    Best Regards
    Lothar

    The Daemon Manager itself tries to maintain daemon health. It can detect if a daemon dies, and it will try to restart it.
    However, if you want to monitor health on your own, the pdshow command is the way to do it. Most daemons should always be running. In LMS 3.2, you may have a few which can be down in a healthy system:
    DFMCTMStartup
    DataPurge
    CSDiscovery
    UTMajorAcquisition
    CWAPublisher
    DCRDevicePoll
    FDRewinder (Solaris only)
    (any numbered process like 1001)
    Any other daemon should be running.
    RME also has the ability to notify you if a job fails. Go to RME > Admin > System Preferences > Collection Failure Notification, and enable notifications when the desired collection fails.

    You can disable or remove that button, but that won't prevent users from making the changes on the about:config page directly.<br />
    You can lock the related network.proxy prefs if you do not want users to change the connection settings.

  • Any best practise to archive PO's which does not have corresponding invoice

    Hello,
             As part of initial implementation and conversion, We have a lot of PO's / LTA created but their corresponding invoices were never converted into SAP from legacy system.  SAP archiving program tags those as not business complete as the invoice qty does not match with po qty (there are no invoices to start with).  Just flagging 'delivery complete and final confirmation' of PO does not help.  Anybody ran into similar situation and how did they resolve it?  I am reluctant to enhance standard SAP archiving program to bypass those checks and that is my only last option. Any SAP recommended Note / best practise etc would help.
    Satyajit Deb

    Where is the invoice posted?
    was the invoice posted in the legacy system?
    Clearance of GR/IR account with MR11 will usually close such POs.

  • When granting a user or a role access to a group of pages, it is best practise to grant that access to what type of file or component?

    My question is same while granting user or role in the application, what is the best practise? How to decide the level of applying role to pagedef's, xml files, or some other file that i have missed out.

    As for my concern I would go for page definition files.

  • What is the best practise to provide a text file for a Java class in a OSGi bundle in CQ?

    This is probably a very basic question so please bear with me.
    What is the best way to provide a .txt file to be read by a Java class in a OSGi bundle in CQ 5.5?
    I have been able to read a file called "test.txt" that I put in a structure like this /src/resources/<any-sub-folder>/test.txt  from my java class  at /src/main/java/com/test/mytest/Test.java using the bundle's getResource and getEntry calls but I was not able to use the context.getDataFile. How is this getDataFile method call to be used?
    And what if I want to read the file located in another bundle, is it possible? or can I add the file to some repository and then access it - but I am not clear how to do this.
    And I would also like to know what is the best practise if I need to provide a large  data set in a flat file to be read by a Java class in CQ5.
    Please provide detailed steps or point me to a how to guide or other helpful resources as I am a novice.
    Thank you in advance for your time and help.
    VS

    As you can read in the OSGi Core specification (section 4.5.2), the getDataFile() method is to read/write a file in the bundle's private persistent area. It cannot be used to read files contained in the bundle. The issue Sham mentions refers to a version of Felix which is not used in CQ.
    The methods you mentioned (getResource and getEntry) are appropriate for reading files contained in a bundle.
    Reading a file from the repository is done using the JCR API. You can see a blueprint for how to do this by looking at the readFile method in http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/jackrabbit/tags/2.4.0/jackrabbit-jcr-commons/src/main/java /org/apache/jackrabbit/commons/JcrUtils.java. Unfortunately, this method is not currently usable as it was declared incorrectly (should be a static method, but is an instance method).

  • How to disable iMessage for a specific contact/How to unregister iMessage from former device

    I switched from an iPhone 4 to a Galaxy S3. When my wife who still has an iPhone 4 tries to text me it still sends the message as an iMessage and I NEVER receive the text on my Galaxy S3. It still shows the little blue bubble next to my name when starting a new text thread. So I checked with about 4 other iPhone users that text me on a regular basis and I'm not receiving any of their messages either.
    If the iPhone users turn off iMessage the text comes right through. However I dont expect all the iPhone users on my contact list to turn off the iMessage feature just so they can text me.
    I no longer have my old iPhone. I traded it in at Best Buy so there's no way of going back in the phone to change any settings. The iPhone was wiped of all data and settings anyway before I traded it in.
    I took my wifes iPhone and deleted my contact. Then I added it back. Still shows my name as iMessage. I took my e-mail address out of my contact entry on her phone and it still shows my name as iMessage.
    I logged into "Apple Support - My Support Profile" to try to unregister my device as suggested in another forum but I can't get past the "enter your purchase date" page. It was a refurbished iPhone and the date I purchased the device didn't work. Theres no way I'll ever get the original purchase date since I wasn't the original buyer of that iPhone.
    Any suggestions?? This is an urgent matter as I NEED to receive text messages from my wife and other iPhone users. My wife is willing to turn off iMessage on her iPhone but I don't expect everyone else to.
    I need to find out how to unreigster my old iPhone completely from iMessage.... or find out how to disable a specific contact on my wife's iPhone from using iMessage.

    If you still have an iPhone handy and have the SIM card you used for the phone, then temporarily put your SIM into the other phone and go into Settings and turn of iMessage. If not, the only alternative that I know of is the Support profile, However, you may what to search the More Like This section on the right side of the thread to see if any of the entries there have a green checkmark meaning they are answered.

    Hi  Krishna,
    For your issue, you need to deploy a farm solution using HideCustomAction to hide site settings link. For example to hide “Title, description, and logo” link you can use below code:
    <Elements xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/">
    <HideCustomAction
    GroupId="Customization"
    HideActionId = "ProjectSettings"
    Location = "Microsoft.SharePoint.SiteSettings">
