Best production version and master recipe?

Is there a way in SAP (ECC.5.0) to  choose the best production version on its own besides the date?
Can MRP choose the best production version  and master recipe on its own based on cost?
If so How? Config?
Please advise
thanks
Walter

Hi,
MRP  selects production version based on   Lotsize,Validity date and status. In R/3 ,we dont have functionality like
   1. Simultaneous MRP and Capacity Planning
   2. Best Optimum  route of production.
This is very much available in APO only. You can use either of Quota arrangement or Capacity evolution functionality to distribute planned qty into other resources based on past experience.

    Hi Jan,
For the error "The product version and database version are not compatible", as Emma said, the version number of the Service does not match the database schema version.
In your scenario, which version of database are you using? Please note that MDS update required after SQL 2012 SP1 installation, please refer to the links below to see the details.

  • LTP consider production version and not consider selection id for routing

    Dear guru.
I run mrp long term planning for a material.
The material have a production version linked to a specific bom and routing.
In trx OPU5 I have defined that the planning scenario consider a specific selection id for routing  , this routing is different from the  routing of production version.
The result is that for this material ltp donu2019t consider any routing and no evaluation activity is possible.
Do you know a solution in order that for LTP the system donu2019t consider production version and instead only consider OPU5 settings ?
    Thanks for your interesting.

    Dear CONS SAP,
Create a new planning scenario in T Code MS31 and then maintain the scheduling parameters for this planning scenario and
assign this selection Id and then execute and check.
    Check and revert

  • Ways to secure BOMs and Master Recipes - Reg

    Hi ,
Our requirement is to secure certain  Bills Of Materials and Master Recipes .
Request inputs from the experts to achieve this . We need to maintain certain BOMs and Recipes  such that they are secured and handled by few set of people . I understand we can try doing this with some authorization object at BOM for changes etc.. but are  there better  ways to secure ?

  • Difference between production version and routing

    hello pp experts,
why do we create production version, and what's the difference between production version and routing?

    Dear sarfaraz lodhi ,
Production version is a combination of BOM & Routing in the case of Discrete Manufacturing and it's a
combination of BOM & Rotuing/Rate Routing in the case of Repetitive Manufacturing.
Created either through MM02 by selecting MRP4 view or else through C223
A production version determines the various production techniques that can be used to produce a material.
    It defines the following information:
    ·        Alternative BOM for a BOM explosion
    ·        Task list type, task list group, and group counter for assignment to task lists
    ·        Lot-size restrictions and period of validity
A material can have one or more production versions.
Routing contains the set of operation that's required for producing a product either a HALB - Semi-
Finished product or else a FERT - Finished Product.
The T code for creating Routing is CA01.

  • Mass creation of BOM and Master Recipe for Plants

My client wants to do Mass BOM creation and Mass Master Recipe Creation from a Generic BOM and Generic Master Recipe for all 10 Plants by just a click of button.
He does not want to use copy function using CSO1 or C201, and do for plants 'one by one'. He finds it very time-consuming. He wants to copy for all ten plants all at once. Please advice how this can be accomplished in the best possible manner, and if by standard SAP.
    Thanks,

    Dear Sir ,
    What is LSMW ?
I want to Copy some bill of material from another plant .I had used T code CS01 for it but only the header bill of material is copied .
The copy field in CS01 is only for first level boms the subsequent Boms are not copied .
so is there any other way to do it ? if possible please give the detail procedure .

  • Production Premium and Master Collection

    Hello community,
i've got a question concerning Creative Suite 6 Production Premium and the Master Collection.
I will be using mainly Premiere and After Effects, that's why i am planning to buy Production Premium.
Here you can see the different versions:
    http://www.adobe.com/de/products/cs6/faq.edu.html
I noticed, there is a star behind Premiere and After effects in the Production Premium version, but just a star behind Premiere in the Master Collection. What does the star mean? Are these different versions of Premiere and After effects?
    Thanks!

  • Costing - Multiple Production Versions and Recursive BoMs

    Hi All,
We have a production and product costing scenario as follows:
Production versions 10, 20 and 30. It takes all three versions to manufacture the finished material and there are no intermediate products in this scenario. 10 and 30 are to be costed and 30 is a recursive BoM with the input from version 10 also being the output. 10 is the main production step with components but 30 is a recursive BoM sometimes only with the output material as the input and sometimes with a more complete BoM but which includes the output material as an input component.
The quantity input appears to be the same as quantity output for the recursive element.
If anyone has come across this scenario and you can let me know what design principles you followed I would appreciate it.
We are getting iteration error messages when costing production version 30 and even reducing the input quantity below 95% of the input as per the SAP documentation does not fix the error message.
Any help you can give will be greatefully received.
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Tim

Murali - Its possible to use multiple PV in sub contracting.
    Settings in ERP :
    1. In CFC9 activate the - Transfer multiple selection of PDS indicator. When you select this indicator, the system allows you to select several productions versions in the integration model; it also creates a Production Process Model (PPM) or Production Data Structure (PDS) for each production version in SAP SCM
    2. Assign the PV's to the subcontracting info record through -  Logistics  - Central Functions  - Supply Chain Planning Interface - Core Interface - Advanced Planner and Optimizer - Environment  - Data Transfer  -Assign Multiple Production Versions
    3. When you select the integration model parameters for PDS, you have selected PP/DS Subcontracting as the PDS Type value. Similarly, for PPM, you have selected Subcontracting PPM as the Type of PPM value.
Subcontracting with multiple production versions is supported. However, the integration with an SAP ERP system requires at least SAP ERP 2005 with Enhancement Pack 03.

  • Best Windows version and drive for my Mac Pro?

I am looking to purchase an new internal drive for my new mac pro exclusively for the purpose of installing windows and playing pc games via BootCamp. Questions: Which drive will work best for this?(looking for 500GB or less) and which version of Windows will be more reliable and perform best (XPpro, XPhome, Vista) in my system? Thanks!!

    Hi:
I just had exactly the same situation- I looked at different hard drives and bought the Western Digital Caviar Black WD6401AALS from Buy.com for about $78.00. Incidentally when you look at the prices of these products , the range is very tight- just $9 get you an additional 140 gigs and the black series is much faster than the SEII series for only a slight increase in cost. The drive is fast and quiet.
I tried using boot camp to install Vista ultimate and got a series of formatting error messages, then pulled out my mac OS drive, installed Vista without any trouble at all, then installed the drivers to be used with the mac pro and boot camp for windows. Works great so far. Then I reinstalled the mac os hard drive and now can boot into windows or mac. The 64 bit version of vista ultimate is very fast on the mac pro (2008 version).

  • Saving, Versions and Master

    Hello,
I've just downloaded Aperture 3 to try it out but I'm a bit confused with how it saves the photos exactly.
I imported several photos from my digital camera and chosen to place them in the Pictures folder. I did some basic editing to a photo and closed Aperture. I noticed that my edits were saved automatically.
Now, I'm a bit confused as to how to retrieve the original master photo? Also, if I make additional modifications to that photo, would another version be saved? If so, how do I access all the versions of a photo?
    Thank you for your help.

You are asking how to use Aperture, unfortunately a question that is a bit overly broad. Aperture will certainly allow you to do exactly what you ask, but I suggest buying a book/CD/tutorial and working all the lessons to learn the process.
What you want is a tutorial, not a manual. One acceptable tutorial is:
Apple Pro Training Series: Aperture 3  by Dion Scoppettuolo (Apr 23, 2010)
Aperture does not change Masters. It makes non-destructive edits which when read by Aperture with the Master comprise Versions. A full new image is not actually created until one exports a version.
One mandatory thing to do that many tutorials fail to note is:
Back up original image files on and off site before importing into Aperture or any other images management application.

  • Production Version in Material Master

    Hi,
I am having problems with this.
I need to either change date on a production version or
    delete the product version.
I have tried using a batch input sequence from my program both for changing the date
and for deleting the production version and this all works well.
Now this isn't good enough since there can be multiple production versions on a material
and I don't know which line to change or delete in the batch run.
Is there a good FM or BAPI to handle this?
I don't want to change the MKAL table directly since there is a history table
    connected to this also (MKAL_AEND).
    What is the best approach?
    Rgds,
    /Fredrik.

How can I use this to achieve what I want to do, either
change the production version date or delete the production version?
I have tried C223, but this is not good enough, nor is batch run in MM02.
I can have multiple production versions and can not pick the correct line
in batch run to change or delete.

  • REM Product cost collectors and Production version

    Hi All,
Can some one pls let me know
What are the product cost collectors in REM and how to create the product cost collectors ?
What is the production version and the difference between production version and controlling version?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Bujji

    Dear Bujji,
A product cost collector is a cost object in Product Cost by Period that collects the periodic actual costs incurred in the production of a material. It can be created in txn KKF6N.
    [Product Cosr Collector|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/EN/08/77ba810a1611d3a6b900104b55d538/frameset.htm]

A production version determines the various production techniques that can be used to produce a material. It defines the following information:
Alternative BOM for a BOM explosion
Task list type, task list group, and group counter for assignment to task lists
Lot-size restrictions and period of validity
A material can have one or more production versions.
It can be defined in the Material Master (txn MM02) in one of the following views:
    MRP 4
    Work Scheduling
    Costing 1
The costing version is a different issue. It is a costing parameter and is used to save several cost estimates for the same material, with the same costing variant and the same costing date (e.g. in oder to cost the material several times with minor changes without creating new costing variants).

    Are the following scenarios right?
    1. <b>I want to integrate non-SAP System.</b>

         b) I have to create integration scenario in my PRODUCT
         c) Which type of Application Component do I have to choose?

Do I need to use SAP SRM Product Version and to create Integration Scenarion there?
Which Application Component Type do I need to choose for non-SAP application? Template?

    Hi Sergey,
    >>1. I want to integrate non-SAP System.
    >>>> b) I have to create integration scenario in my PRODUCT
no you don't have to create integration scenarios
these are only created to show the flow of our processes
but you don't have to create/use them
take a look at this weblog if you really want to create it:
    /people/siva.maranani/blog/2005/08/27/modeling-integration-scenario146s-in-xi
    >>> Do I need to use SAP SRM Product Version and to create Integration Scenarion there?
you don't need integration scenario here too
but if you want you can create it
