Best "Publish Settings" for wmv web page video are ??

What are the bset settings for publishing a WMV video for playback on a web page?
I used the custom setup and...
320 x 240
15 frames per second
Are these the right numberes for a good quality video on the net... without making the file to big?
Thanks for any suggestions.

Time for the proverbial spanner in the works.
If you are in NTSC lands, and your source footage is HD at 24fps, you could always try encoding to the 24p MPEG-2-DVD setting.
This will put the progressive scan footage on the DVD at 24p, without degrading it to interlaced - and on an upscaling player you will get output at 24p.
If the disc is played on a non upscaling system, the player will automatically pull to 29.97, so you lose nothing and gain a lot.
The Adobe Media Encoder does a fine job of the 24p for DVD encoding as well - just remember to render out as elementary streams (.m2v and .WAV) - do not use the Dolby Digital encoder at this point (unless you need the SurCode 5.1 of course) and use LPCM - let Encore handle this.

  • Best transcode settings for 20+ minute sports video DVD?

I've been producing videos and DVDs for a while but I'm new to Encore. From my initial experience, the finished quality is much better than the Apple iDVD that I have been using. While I'm very happy with the DVD, I'd like to see if I can get better quality results.
Yes, I'm going from HD > SD (DVD) and I understand it's not the same thing and that the resolution is much less. I would just like help with the DVD transcode settings that I'll use to build my DVD.
I'm exporting standalone quicktime movie from FCE with no custom settings.
    My quicktime file resolution is 1920 x 1080 @ 29.97 fps.
My videos are usually about 20-25 minutes long and have lots of motion in them. Any suggestions are requested.
I'm very happy with the color but some of the motion looks a little jumpy at times and some of the stills aren't as crisp as I'd like.
    Thanks,
    Bob

  • Best Export Settings For A Splash Page?

Hello. I'm creating a splash page for my website, and I've
created a very shot animation. It looks great in Flash, but I need
to know what are the best settings to use in Adobe Flash to keep
the quality nice and clear. I tried the default and exported it as
a movie, but the resulting animation was very choppy and pixelated.
Does anyone know how I can keep this from happening so that I will
have a nice splash page? Any help would be appreciated.

export as ppt or clickable pdf
both can be shown from a pc with no loss of quality, only loss of (some) animations

  • Best export settings for video for web

Can anyone give me some advice on the best export settings for a short video that is to be viewed on the web? I have some short, say 2 minute videos that need to be placed on a website and need a reasonable file size. What would the best Format and Preset options be in Premiere? Would it be helpful to utilize After Effects to reduce file size? Thank you in advance to anyone who has some advice!!

For now, it would be on my own website or a clients website. But there may
be another possibility, I have a client that already has some videos
available for viewing on their website, looks like they are YouTube videos
that play on their site, and there is an option to "Watch on YouTube". So I
guess I would love some recommended export settings for a straightforward
video clip on my website, and if I need to explore the YouTube preset in
Premiere, let me know. Thank you, I really appreciate your answers and

  • Best export settings for HD video playback on computer?

I have shot my video on 1080p witha DSLR and edited it in premiere pro. I exported the video in .mp4 format.
Now i imported the video in after effects and added loads of animation. I want to export it to the best quality for playback ON COMPUTER ONLY. Which is the best export settings for this purpose.
I rendered it in .avi and my 12 minute video had a size of 55GB after render and did not play smoothly in the computer.. PLEASE HELP WITH THE BEST SETTINGS for the above purpose.

You messed up. You should NOT have rendered MP4 out of Premiere to use in AE. You're adding compression and quality loss in between stages. BAD video person!
The easiest thing to do would be to import your Premiere project in AE. That way it can use the original footage too. If, for some reason, you can't do that, you should render a lossless file out of Premiere. Speaking of lossless files, that's what you rendered out of AE. This page explains your large AE file issue.
Anyway, take that large file you render out of AE into the Adobe Media Encoder and render out your final compressed file. Either H.264 or WMV should work well for playback.

  • What are the best export settings for a HD video in Premier Pro CS4?

    Hi!
I've been having so much trouble with this issue and it's something that continually frustrates my boss. I have a HD video the settings for it are
    FPS 23.98
    1920 x 1080, then a few lines down it says 1408 x 792
    16 bit,
    2 channels
    48000 Hz
What should the settings be when I make a new sequence?
When I look at it in the window in Premiere Pro I have to contantly 'shrink' the image to fit the window, is that something I should be doing or does it indicate the sequence settings are incorrect?
But more importantly what should the export settings be? I exported a 4 minute long video and the size was 1 GB, I know that's too big.
I need to export it without loosing any quality and export another one that meets the Youtube and Vimeo limits on size.
Vimeo is 500 MB per week, sometimes I upload 4 videos per week. I think Youtube you can only upload 500 MB at a time.
I need to get smaller sizes with loosing the least amount of quality possible AND the best export settings for quality, so I guess I have 3 separate questions-
What are the best sequence settings for HD video?
What are the best export settings for HD without loosing any quality?
What are the best export settings for the size to come out around 500 MB with loosing the least amount of quality possible?
    Thank You!

On the above thread I used the 5th anwer, and it's going to take about 7 hours to export a 4 minute video :/

    It Stands for "Coder Decoder."
Your format is like a container for your video file. Certain containers can hold certain codecs and not others. Other containers can hold other codecs. Sometimes different containers can hold the same codecs.
This might be a bad analogy but I'll give it a try.
A coffe cup (container) can hold pretty much any liquid you drink, where a red solo cup (container) won't hold scolding water. So, the coffe cup would be your container of choice most likely because it has the most options for liquids (codecs). But, you might want a red solo cup for just a single crappy beer at a party (a moderate quality streaming video on the web). In that case, you don't need all the optoins of another container.
In Premiere Pro CC H.264 is a Container and the Codec in one option. This has been streamlined for web distrobution of video to be played in browsers without things like Flash or special players.
Were as if you choose the QuickTime Container there are over 40 codec optoins (at least on my machine with additinal ones installed) but you may run into an issue where your browser doesn't support QuickTime playback.
I would say that your container is for compatability with players and your codec is taken into consideration when looking at the quality of the compression.
Yesteraday I wrote a blog entery on Exporting from Premiere Pro and found that the MPEG-4 codec inside of the QuickTime container gave me much richer colors than the H.264 container/codec option.
I posted the link before but here it is:

  • Modify "Publish for Approval" web page?

Is there a way to modify the "Publish for Approval" web page in Aperture?
The original package includes a PNG file you can modify to put your logo on, but nothing else.
    Thanks for any input.
    David

I'm not the developer of this interesting looking package, but it doesn't look like it's something that will work with .Mac at all.
The web pages is creates rely on an application to be running on the machine that's serving the web page (which, as it's designed, would be your local Mac). This application needs to receive approvals from the web page events, and also needs to be on your machine so that it can use AppleScript to set the metadata in your Aperture library so that the approved pictures show up in the smart group. Neither of these are possible if the site is served on .Mac.
In theory, this could run on a remote machine, since AppleScript can target processes on remote machines. But to make it work, you'd still need the CGI application on the server, and you'd also need to open your Mac to allow remote AppleScript execution over the Internet (which gets into network setup, probably secure SSH tunnels, etc). Your Mac would also still need to be on, and allowing this connection, otherwise Aperture wouldn't be notified when someone approved pictures.
To make a short story long, it won't work with .Mac.

  • How to make a tabbed panel in fireworks for a web page?

I know fireworks is not the best place to make a web page. I have to use this because it is a mockup for school. i have the tabs up and each state made in each tab i have the appropriate tab merging with the content area. I also have 3 other states I have created for each tab. first problem i am having is that when I click on state 2,3 and 4 I my content disappears including my master page and all of my other content I don't know how to make it show like it does in state 1. my second problem is I don't want to slice the hotspots to make the tabs. I just want to make the hotspots navigate to each state is that at all possible? or do I just have to slice it? the reason I don't want to slice is because the instructor does not like it when we slice content don't ask me why.

Searched for a solution and I found a video tutorial about this:

  • Input and Publish settings for 8mm film using PreRes422.mov

I'm using Premiere 12 on Windows 8.  I just got a sample from the company that converted 8mm film to 720HD ProRes422.mov onto a DVD.
I loaded into Premiere 12 without problem and can see, edit and publish.
However, what would be the best Input settings?
Also, I plan to burn to play on a BluRay player for my HDTV.  What would be the best Publish settings?
Any other settings or adjustment I should use to improve the image?

Good news. That footage is not AVCHD.avi. What you have is MotionJPEG.avi which is usually not good news for Premiere Elements. But, if you can import it in the first place, let us give it a go.
The video is 1920 x 1080 @ 29.97 frames per second. The GSpot codec program does not tell us if interlaced or progressive. The way to determine that for sure is with the MediaInfo readout.  But, let us try to avoid that with a "try and see" approach.
    1. Open Premiere Elements 12 to its Expert workspace, and import your video into the project with Premiere Elements' Add Media/Files and Folders/Project Assets. From Project
Assets, drag the video to the Timeline. Does it have an orange line over its content? If no, then our project preset stays at
    NTSC
    AVCHD
    Full HD 1080i30
And, we have the correct project preset. What does the playback in the Edit area monitor look like?
If there is an orange line over the Timeline content, we don't have the right project preset. So, close that project, and open a new one.
    2. In the new Premiere Elements 12 project to its Expert workspace, with the File Menu/New/Project route, manually set the project preset for
    NTSC
    DSLR
    1080p
    DSLR 1080p30@ 29.97
Then import the video into the project with Premiere Elements' Add Media/Files and Folders/Project Assets. From Project Assets, drag the video to the Timeline. Does it
have an orange line over its content? If no, then our project preset stays at
    NTSC
    DSLR
    1080p
    DSLR 1080p30@ 29.97
There will be no colored line over the Timeline content if we have the right project preset. What does the playback in the Edit area monitor look like?
At this point, please let us know the results, and we will decide what next.
    Thanks.

  • Best Share Settings for YouTube

Hi, Could someone tell me what the best Imovie HD6 exporting settings are for uploading to YouTube? I'm trying to get the best quality image for my 8 minute video but still be able to upload under 100meg.
I've read on the YouTube site that MPEG-4 at 30fps & 640x480 is the best setting for the best quality results. But when I do that I still end up with a rather pixalated video. I've tried using the standard setting of Web Streaming (12fps, 320x240) but that's also rather pixalated.
    Thanks for any thoughts.

    Hi Steve
I don't often drop into Discussions these days as the resident experts are excellent but in the past I have had disappointing results with mpeg4 to YouTube until I used Matt's own QT setting settings.
I have and use Flash and on Sunday I tried encoding and uploading my YouTube with Flash. I used the suggested settings and it looked awful! Flash likes to encode from uncompressed footage and I have learned your footage has to be shot with Flash in mind. I then uploaded the same item using Matt's settings and it really looked passable. I could play them side by side. I am not a perfectionist and as long as my videos look OK I am happy.
Now YouTube is allowing a larger upload size I push the quality higher than Matt's and I keep the frame rate at exactly half. I use Pal so it is 12 but for NTSC it is 15. You can be pedantic and make it exactly half the NTSC frame rate which number escapes me at the moment as I never use it. This is best.
Remember to deinterlace but you know that.
So here they are - credit and thanks to Matt.
'I have found that if you are using "special effects" on your movies they do not reflect very well on you tube- If you make a clean movie with no effects than that comes out better. I use Imovie to Qtime export to my own settings for "movie" or .mov. the settings are:
    Compression: H.264
Frame Rate: 12 fps(smaller file size)
    Key Frame: AUTO
Quality: Medium ( again, smaller file size)
    Encoding: Best Quality
    Data Rate: AUTO
    Size: 320x240
Sound ACC-48 khz( you can change this , BUT my Videos are mostly MUSIC- so this sounds better, If your is only the true sound of what you have recorded, like people talking etc- then you can change to lower settings, thus giving you a smaller file size)
I have found that the key to you tube is
    1) if you use certain GEE THREE or any other effects, NOT ALL MIND YOU- that your movie will look crapy.
    2) if you use higher settings than i have stated here you file will be large(hopefully under YOUTUBES 100 mb limit), BUT if your file is very large the movie will stutter, or stop during playback- and other viewers on YOUTUBE probably will move on to the next video of choice and thus all your hard work will go unseen.
So i use these settings keep the effects to a minimum and they seem to work fine-hope this helps any one,
    matt
Lastly I do use effects sometimes so I make a clean copy of my iMovie, that is I export it to QT then I import it back into a new iMovie project so it is just one clip. This can fool YouTube. I made a YouTube using a slideshow from iPhoto
and I used random transitions expecting the worst and to my surprise it looked quite good.
If you want to look you can go see DIYTVMovies My Secret Garden
    http://nz.youtube.com/watch?v=mQ_9Hhg-lRk
which is the director's commentary to show how I did it. Now again this is not Hollywood quality but for a beginner it is acceptable. I like the sound quality iMovie gives. The other version for my friends had sound edited on Final Cut which was compressed and not as good.
If anyone has better settings let me know.
    Jane

  • Creating a movie for a web page and making it continuously loop

Hi all! I have a client who wants me to create a slide show with 7 images at a specific size for his web page. He wants it to continuously loop. I don't know much about this. Where can I go to learn how? I can make the movie... but I'm not sure what to export it as... and what the settings should be to enable me to make it the correct size and so that it loops. Thank you!
I'm using iMovie '08 on my iMac.
PS: When I looked up online for help, all I found was how to make a movie loop on one's computer. Not on web pages.

.gif files are supported in all browsers and do not need any special "player". They are very limited in their support of colors and most Web pages rarely use them anymore.
QuickTime .mov files can be set to "loop" (as explained above). Much more colors (millions).
iMovie is the wrong tool to make your file (and it doesn't create .swf format).
QuickTime Player Pro is the tool you need. It can import an "image sequence", set the frame rate (up to ten seconds per frame) and save the file in the .mov container.

  • Best export settings for DNxHD?

    Hey guys,
I'm working with R3D files (4KHD) in CS6 and need to export them for grading/editing in DNxHD at 1080p. Any tips on the best export settings for this?
Also - is it necessary to downconvert the 4KHD in some way to 1080p before the export process? The files I'm ending up with are a noticeably poorer quality than the original; I'm not sure if this is due to an error I've made during the conversion or if its a natural part of using the codec?
