Best way to Pass a Date with Time to a Page

Has anyone come up with a simple and reliable way to pass a Date with Time "06/13/1992 10:50 PM" to a page.

Hi Scott:
On Page 1:
Summary Report
LINK  Window   Item Count      Start Date                   End Date
  X       1            7         8/2/2007 03:15:20   8/2/2007 03:18:22
  X       2          12         8/2/2007 04:01:01   8/2/2007 04:07:42When the LINK is clicked
On Page 2:
[:P2_S_DATE] 8/2/2007 03:15:20 [:P2_E_DATE] 8/2/2007 03:18:23 [:P2_GO]
Detail Report
Window   Item Number      Item Date
    1                1                8/2/2007 03:15:24
    1                2                8/2/2007 03:17:04
   ...              ...                        ...I then need to allow the users to adjust the dates and click the P2_GO and have it return the new result set.

  • What is the best way to captue current date and time?

    I got a field in table to capute current date and time...i am
    using SQL Server.
    field name datatype length
    enter_datetime datetime 8
    What is the best way to get current date and time and insert
    to table?.
    Is this way?.
    <cfset curtime = 'dateformat(#now()#,'mm/dd/yyyy')&"
    "&timeformat(#now()#,'hh:mm:ss')'>
    This way looks like time is not entered correctly.
    or any other better way?.

    > get current date and time and insert to table?
    You can use cfqueryparam
    <cfqueryparam value="#now()#"
    cfsqltype="cf_sql_timestamp">
    Or as was suggested, set the default for your table column to
    getdate(). Then you won't have to insert anything. Sql server will
    do it automatically when a new record is created.

  • Best way to pass back data from hierarchical table view?

    Hi,
    I have a view hierarchy using a navigation controller that's working pretty well. One of the bottom level views is a table view where the user selects an item from the list. This bottom view checks the list item, saves the selected item in a property, and then pops the view off the stack.
    What's the best way to alert the parent view that the child view has been popped off so it can retrieve the value in the property? The calling push returns immediately, so it doesn't appear to be a modal call. I want to be able to use the same controller from other parent forms, so I need to be able to do this without referencing the parent in the child form ideally.
    Thanks
    Ray

    Hi, well let me try to explain it a bit more
    - Add a "delegate" property to your child-viewcontroller-class
    - Define a protocoll within each chil-viewController-class
    In this example let us name it "didSelectValue:(NSString *)value"
    - In the parent-viewcontroller before pushing a child-viewcontroller set it's delegate property to "self" (parent-viewcontroller)
    - In the parent-viewcontroller implement to protocoll-method "didSelectValue:(NSTring *)value"
    - In the child view-controller in (assuming it is a tableViewcontroller) add some code in didSelectRowAtIndexPath that checks if the delegate is set and check if it responds to selector "didSelectValue:(NSString *)value". If so, call it with the selected value.

  • Best way to replace hard drive with Time Machine

    Hello, I searched dozens of threads before posting but I didn't find my specific topic.
    I have a G5 (single CPU) with two internal hard drives plus one external drive. The original hard drive is only 80gb and it has been quite full for several years now. I purchased a second internal drive (150gb) about 3 or 4 years ago and have been storing all my files video and data files on the second drive. This created some additional space on the primary drive, but not much. I started off with OX 10.1 back in 2003 and have purchased the upgrades all the way to OX 10.5.4. I also have about 14000 photos in iPhoto that are stored on the primary drive because I can't figure out how to move my library to the second drive (where there is more space).
    About a year ago, I purchased an iomega 500gb external drive (USB 2.0) that runs Time Machine.
    I have not had any issues with any of the drives except for running out of space on the main drive. I accidentally deleted some of my wife's files once and used Time Machine as advertised.
    My main drive has 4.7gb free
    My second drive has 87gb free
    My Time Machine drive has 205gb free.
    I purchased a new 500gb internal drive.
    I think my G5 will only take 2 internal drives total, so the original 80gb drive needs to go. How do I accomplish this? Should I make my 150gb the main drive, since it will be the smallest and therefore maybe the fastest for running the OS? If size of the drive doesn't matter, then should I just remove the 80gb drive, install the new 500gb in it's place and then boot using the OS X10.5 disk?
    I suppose I could just let Time Machine restore the system, but do I really want OS X10.1 with a bunch of upgrades? It looks like my OS X 10.5 disk is a full version (it doesn't say 'upgrade only') on the box... Wouldn't my computer run better with a fresh OS X install and if so, is there a way to let Time Machine re-install my apps and user settings? I think I am running iLife 06 (which ever one has iMovieHD...) I also have Final Cut Express HD, CorelDraw suite and NeoOffice. Everything else is how the computer came back in 2003. I've never had any issues, so I am more than a little concerned that I am going to mess something up. You know that saying...."If it ain't broke....'
    Any advice?
    Regards

    You do indeed have only two internal drive slots in your G5. To avoid having to try restoring everything from your TM backup what you could do is to be sure you force a final TM backup of the 80 GB drive before removing it. Install the new drive. Prepare the new drive - I suggest the following:
    Extended Hard Drive Preparation
    1. Boot from your Leopard Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
    2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Set the number of partitions from the dropdown menu (use 1 partition unless you wish to make more.) Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID (only required for Intel Macs) then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the volume(s) mount on the Desktop.
    4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
    5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
    6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
    Upon completion of formatting quit DU and return to the installer. Now complete your installation of OS X. During this process you will be asked if you want to do a full restore from a TM backup. Skip this option. Once the installation has completed the computer will restart. After restarting you will see the Setup Assistant. When you've completed the Setup Assistant you will be given the option to migrate from a connected TM backup drive. Select this option. You can then migrate your Home folder, applications, and preferences. There is only one important caveat to this. When completing the setup you are asked to provide a username and password for the startup admin account. Do not use the same username as the Home folder you will migrate. Select a different username (short name is what it is also called.)
    Once the migration has completed you can log out of the startup admin account and log into the migrated account. You can then delete the startup account unless you choose to keep it around for test purposes.
    This process will not restore anything else from your backup except the Home folder, applications, and preferences. If there are items in your Home folder you would prefer not to migrate, then move them to the other hard drive.

  • Best way to pass secure data between servers

    Hello,
    In the not to distant future my company wants to expand our
    site to include a single sign-on, this will be made possible with
    the 3rd party group that handles our customer info. Can someone
    enlighten me as the most secure method of transferring user data
    between these locations?
    What has been proposed is to pass the login from our site to
    the 3rd party, if successful pass back certain data, display and
    possibly update on our site and then pass this back to the 3rd
    party server.
    Is CFLogin the most powerful method for login? I've used
    query checks in the past, is that adequate or is CFLogin much
    better? Any pointers are appreciated.

    "Is CFLogin the most powerful method for login? I've used
    query checks
    in the past, is that adequate or is CFLogin much better?"
    Neither, CFLogin is really just a specific purpose IF block.
    Code
    within the opening and closing <cflogin...> tags is run
    when a user is
    not logged in with the <cfloginuser...> tag. Inside
    this block one
    still needs to validate the credentials provided by the user,
    often with
    a query check.
    The <cflogin...><cfloginuser...> combination
    provides an easy to
    interpret and use mechanism to run conditional code and
    persist a user
    login state from request to request. It is basically
    equivalent to ones
    own <cfif...> logic combined with session data for the
    user state.
    Under the hood it is using the same mechanisms.
    I usually prefer to roll my own solution because I often want
    to store
    more state data about a user then is allowed with the
    <cfloginuser...>
    tag and the related getAuthUser() and isUserInRole()
    functions.

  • Best way to pass data sets to another program

    Hey
    I want to connect another (maths) program with my java application. Therefore I need to paste data (some kind of tab separated table) to this program.
    I try now to save these data in a separate newly generated file and to pass a command with Java's Runtime.exec() method to this program to read these data. Is this a good idea or might there be better ways?
    If I do so, is there a way in Java to generate some kind of a "temporary" file which will be deleted automatically after usage or is this nothing else than to save it in a common file and delete it afterwards. What's the best way to pass data generally?

    Well, the connection will not be over a network, so I'd rather think it's not a Socket or RMI problem (unless someone convinces me).
    Yes it's very external, it's a C or C++ written program, I don't have any source codes. So far I generated a file for Input command and data, I passed that on to the maths program and returned the output into another file.
    Now I would like to separate the output and like to obtain some tables and graphical things like charts at the output. Do I have to generate three different types of outputfiles? How to store some graphics e.g. some distributions. I thought even of generating a database. I never thought about XML, I don't know if this works for that kind of problem?!

  • How to pass system date and time with tabular from in Update only Mode.

    Dear Friends,
    i have created tabular form with UPDATE Only .here i am assigning work to another multiple users.i want to insert system date and time when i assign work to multiple users.
    How can i insert system date and time into table using tabular form in Update Only Mode.
    beacuse i have pass in default system date it's working only with add row button.
    How can i pass system date and time in update mode in tabular form.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    You just create a trigger on the table on which you build your tabular form:
    e.g:
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER  "AUDITING"
    before insert or update on "MYTABLE"
    for each row
    begin
        if inserting then
            :new.created_on := localtimestamp;
            :new.created_by := nvl(v('APP_USER'),user);
        elsif updating then
            :new.updated_on := localtimestamp;
            :new.updated_by := nvl(v('APP_USER'),user);
        end if;
    end;Regards,

  • Best way to fill a datagird with A LOT of data?

    What's the best way to fill a datagrid with A LOT of data.
    I'm talking about something like 10,000 rows. Can the datagrid
    handle it? No screen is large enough to show 10,000 records..... is
    there a way to load 50, and then when a user scrolls down it loads
    the next 50 etc...?

    Right. It's not recommended that you load 10,000 rows into
    the datagrid at once. Using the data management service with paging
    enabled is a much better solution. See the Configuring the Data
    Management Service chapter in the Flex2 Developer's Guide for more
    info.

  • Best Way to port the data from one DB to another DB using Biztalk

    Hi,
    please suggest best way to move the data from one db to another DB using biztalk.
    Currently I am doing like that, for each transaction(getting from different source tables) through receive port, and do some mapping (some custom logic for data mapping), then insert to target normalized tables(multiple tables) and back to update the status
    of transaction in source table in sourceDB. It is processing one by one.
    How/best we we can do it using  bulk transfer and update the status. Since it has more than 10000 transaction per call.
    Thanks,
    Vinoth

    Hi Vinoth,
    For SQL Bulk inserts you can always use SQL Bulk Load
    adapter.
    http://www.biztalkgurus.com/biztalk_server/biztalk_blogs/b/biztalksyn/archive/2005/10/23/processing-a-large-flat-file-message-with-biztalk-and-the-sqlbulkinsert-adapter.aspx
    However, even though a SQL Bulk Load adapter can efficiently insert a large amount of data into SQL you are still stuck with the issues of transmitting the
    MessageBox database and the memory issues of dealing with really large messages.
    I would personally suggest you to use SSIS, as you have mentioned that records have to be processed in specific time of day as opposed to when the
    records are available.
    Please refer to this link to get more information about SSIS: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms141026.aspx
    If you have any more questions related to SSIS, please ask it in
    SSIS
    forum and you will get specific support.

  • I am giving away a computer, what is the best way to wipe out data prior to depature

    i am giving away a computer, what is the best way to wipe out data prior to depature

    Did the Mac come with two grey disks when new? If so, use disk one to erase the drive using Disk Utility and then re-install the OS from the same disk. Once installed, quit and when the new owner boots they can set it up as a new out-of-the-box Mac when they boot it up. The grey disks need to be passed on with the computer.
    If you need detailed instructions on how to erase and re-install please post back.
    If the Mac came with Lion or Mountain Lion installed the above process can be done using the Recovery HD as since Lion no restore disks are supplied with the Mac.

  • Best way to store historical data

    Hello:
    I'm currently developing an application that monitors some phisycal
    variables such as temperature and differential pressure in different
    locations. I also must do historical datalogging of the values read so
    the user can generate reports of the historical data. What is the best
    way to save the data? I was thinking about using and SQL-based database
    and use a table for each variable, an make some maintenance on the
    database after certain time to avoid it getting too big, but I'm opened
    to any suggestions
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello:
    I've been looking for a way to install just Citadel with no success.
    I've read that it only ships with Lookout and DSC, so I guess it can't
    be installed without one of them. Si, if this is true, Do U know
    another option for doing datalogging?
    Thanks in advance

  • Please Suggest best way to pass Strings in a pipeline

    I'm working in a project in which a line passes in a pipeline kind of situation.
    The String is passed between different modules and each module adds some more data to it (or may even remove some of it).
    Which is the best way to pass the String? I think java.lang.String might not be an efficient method because the String i'll be passing will be modified many times.
    Thanx

    Yes. StringBuffer or StringBuilder you can use.
    String string = "test";
    StringBuffer sb = new StringBuffer(string);later you will add some more strings to the StringBuffer
    sb.append("Hello World");No additiional String object will be created.

  • What is the best way to pass a constant to a cin expecting a pointer to a value?

    I have a cin which has a leg that is expecting a pointer to a value. On the diagram, what is the best way to connect a constant widget to this leg of the cin? Connecting it directly crashes labview as it treats the constant as a pointer to memory.
    Thanks

    I am not sure that I understand your issue. CIN variables can be Input-Output or Output only. Either way, they are being passed in as a pointer to a value. You can see this very easily by placing down a CIN and wiring a constant integer to it. Next, right-click on the CIN and create the C file. You will see that the parameter list has an int* in it.
    If you are still having problems, do you have to create a CIN or can you create a DLL instead? The DLL will give you a few more ways to pass the data than a CIN does with no real performance decrease.
    Also, have you read the "Using External Code in LabVIEW" manual? This hsould answer some questions as well.

  • What is the best way to mimic the data from production to other server?

    Hi,
    here we user streams and advanced replication to send the data for 90% of tables from production to another production database server. if one goes down can use another one. is there any other best option rather using the streams and replication? we are having lot of problems with streams these days they keep break and get calls.
    I heard about data guard but dont know what is use of it? please advice the best way to replicate the data.
    Thanks a lot.....

    RAC, Data Guard. The first one is active-active, that is, you have two or more nodes accessing the same database on shared storage and you get both HA and load balancing. The second is active-passive (unless you're on 11.2 with Active Standby or Snapshot Standby), that is one database is primary and the other is standby, which you normally cannot query or modify, but to which you can quickly switch in case primary fails. There's also Logical Standby - it's based on Streams and generally looks like what you seem to be using now (sort of.) But it definitely has issues. You can also take a look at GoldenGate or SharePlex.
