    What is the best way to remove crayon writing from my Ipad?

    All Apple recommends is a damp cloth.
    Depending on how much and thick it is, I'd use a dry papertowel or your fingernail to scrape the bulk of it off (I suggest fingernail so that you use something that can't really scratch the iPad)
    Once you get most of it, then use a damp, not wet, cloth, maybe one that you moistened with warm water to help cut through the waxy nature of the crayon.
    What you don't want to do is use chemicals or anything like a scrubby pad because you don't want to scratch the surface in your efforts to clean it.

    Depending on how long the site has been active, it may be
    already
    spidered by search engines and cached. However, for the most
    part, I
    usually use my FTP program OR even Dreamweaver itself (now
    that I can)
    to delete files on the server just as I do locally. Hit the
    delete and

  • What is the best way to remove personal data from the hard drive in preparation for selling my old Mac?

    I am going to sell or perhaps donate my old Power Mac G5.  Is there an easier, yet comprehensive way to remove my data from the hard-drive?  My best approach is dumping anything I do not want found into the trash.
    I am running Mac OS 10.5.8 on the powermac G5

    For better security than the simple Erase (which does not actually over-write the data blocks, only clears the directory), choose Security Options, and Zero all data, one pass.
    After a Zero all data, the only way to recover the data is to dis-assemble the drive in a clean room and use expensive test gear to recover a little of the data. That is good for all but Military Secrets.
    If you really trust no one under any circumstances, remove the drive and beat it to death with a hammer.

  • Best way to remove unwanted signs from string

    Which is the best way to purify a string from possible dangerous signs? I want to remove all characters that is not a-z or 0-9? how would I go about?

    read the string character by character, and check to
    see if they're characters you want to remove or not,
    by comparing them to the ascii values of characters
    you permit. I've used this before, but I can't
    remember what exactly it permits, and I'm too lazy to
    look up the ascii table :) But this sort of thing
    works.
    int c = in.read();
    while(c!=-1){
    if((c<33)||(c<58&&c>44)){
         out.write(c);
    I thought about that too. But the values in the ASCII table... arn't they a little volatile to use? I mean, will my application work on other systems or systems with other languages?

  • Best way to remove old data from db?

    Hi,
    I am looking some ways to keep my database small and remove old data from database and archive it somewhere else. the data may need to be put back to the database in the future. One of the things I am conserned is how to enforce constraints? In other words, when I remove data, all the related pk/fk data should be removed together. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    hope this may help u
    concept is : exp/imp & truncate will reclaim the space
    method1
    do an export and secure the dump(say dump1) for future purpose.
    delete the unwanted data.
    commit.
    now again export the tables ( say dump2).
    now do the import(dump2).
    /*now this import will reclaim the the unused space.*/
    method 2
    /* depennded on volume of data */
    -- create backup of existing table for future
    create table backup_table nologging as select * from original_table;
    -- create copy1 of existing table
    create table copy_table nologging as select * from original_table;
    -- truncate the original table, so that highwater mark is reset.
    truncate table original_table;
    -- insert data from copy_table into original table
    insert /*+ APPEND */ into original_table select * copy_table where(ur conditions for data);
    commit all the work.
    /* now u have 3 tables
    backup_table - with all the data - for future reload
    original_table - with unwanted data deleted and space reclaimed.
    copy_table - copy of original table.
    now u drop the copy_table
    drop table copy_table;

  • Best way to remove the sky from a city night skyline photo

    Hello everyone,
    I am new to Photoshop CS5 and I am trying to remove the sky from a Chicago night skyline photo of the city and the buildings, so then I could add a more dramatic sky. I've tried the quick select tool but it just didn't work very good to cut out the sky from the outline of the buildings. I've thought about just doing it the old fashioned way by just manually erasing the background, but I thought there must be a quicker better way in CS5. Anyone have any suggestions for me? I can upload a sample of the image that I am working with if that would help. Thanks for any help, Bob

    That makes life easier. Most of your buildings will have straight lines, with some curves here and there. The Pen Tool and Paths makes following those curves easy, and those straight lines, even if on a angle, easier still. Once you get the hang of it, it will fly.
    I start out with a rough Path, and then zoom way in, and adjust my Points, as is necessary. Sometimes I need to change a Point, and possibly add some more, when the subject gets intricate. I always do a Save Work Path, for my "rough" just in case I sneeze and drag a Point to where it goes all "wonky."
    Good luck, and remember - just be patient. You will be rewarded with the result.

    What steps need to be taken to remove Adobe Elements 10 from one pc and install it on another?

    Use back up and restore from the Organizer menu. You are permitted two activations so no real need to deactivate the old copy unless you have installed it previously on another machine.
    See these instructions for PSE6 and above.

  • What is the best way to remove unwanted software from my mac

    I was told that I have unwanted software on my MacBook. The software cannot be seen in the Applications folder, but it is there and it needs to be removed or files and network connections will be damaged. I know there are free downloads to help resolve the situation, like AppZapper. I am wondering what is the best free download available.

    Who told you that you have unwanted software on your Mac?
    How did they find out that this was the case?
    Did you allow someone to remotely connect to your Mac?
    What is the name of this software?
    Only after we know the validity of this information will it be time to do something about it.
    At the present time I would not load any crapware on your Mac such as AppZapper. It is never needed for any reason on a Mac.

  • Best way to remove/add server from farm during LB testing

    Hi All,
    I've been tasked to assist dev team perform load balancing test.  There will be two servers in the server farm. What is the CLI command to toggle a server out of a server farm during the test?  Also what is the show command for verifying which server in the pool have the sessions?
    This is the test plan:
    •1.       Open sessions to each of the Test servers to verify that they are working
    •2.       Open session to the VIP for the Test environment, and identify which server has the VIP connection
    •3.       Take down server #1 (assumed) of the Test environment
    •4.       Verify that #1 server is down, and that the VIP session switched over to #2 server with minimal interruption
    •5.       (consider interfaces to other systems)
    •6.       Start new session and verify that it goes to #2 server
    •7.       Bring up #1 server and take down #2 server
    •8.       Verify that #2 session down, and both VIP sessions switched back to #1 server
    •9.       (consider interfaces to other systems)
    •10.   Bring up #2 server
    Thanks in advance,
    Adil

    Hi Adil,
    To get the server out of loadbalancing equation, you can simply go to serverfarm and do "no inservice" for the server you intend to take out or you can make the probe to fail or you can simply take the server out of serverfarm by doing "no rserver .
    Also, regarding your testing, if you have two servers to which traffic will be loadbalanced, connection failover will not happen. Existing connections would be dropped or RST(depending upon what you configure) and new connections would be sent to server 2.  Once the server 1 comes back up, the connections would again start getting loadbalanced to both servers. You cannot have failover of connections from 1 server to another in same serverfarm.
    Let me know if you have any questions.

    Kanwal

  • What is the best way to remove footage from the middle of a clip?

    What is the best way to remove unwanted footage from the middle of a clip? I have a clip that I've trimmed from the start and finsih, but I need to remove "boring" footage from inbetween.

    Thank you for your replies. I tried the blade tool followed by select and delete but it did not seem very precise. I had better success with this aproach at the ends rather than in the middle. I watched a tutorial video on using the precision editor, but the video was small so I had a difficult time following where the person clicked, etc. Any info on using the precision editor would be greatly appreciated. I need to make precise cuts to avoid creating unatural motion for the subject. So far, close but no cigar.

    Michael

  • What's the best way to removed unwanted files?

    I have an iMac G4 running OS X 10.4.11 with 1GB of DDR SDRAM. I'm wondering what's the best way to remove unwanted files from the RAM, if it's even possible. There are apps and other files I no longer need. If I can dump the unused files will it help the computer run a little faster? Can I eliminate the unwanted files some how by myself or do I need a program that does it? Thanks

    Applications are stored perminately on the harddrive [ Macintosh HD ]. When applications are running that is when they appear in a window, they take up RAM. You see your running applications by using activity monitor:
    Macintosh-HD -> Applications -> Utilities -> Activity Monitor
    Application when they are not running, they do not take up RAM.  You will not see any performance improvement when you delete an application from your Harddrive.  [ unless you have filled up your harddrive ]
    Best to have greater than 2gig of free space on your Harddrive.  Many posters to these forums state that you need much more free space: 5 gig to 10 gig or 10 percent of you hd size.
    Most applications do not take up much space on the Harddrive.  I copy my unused application to a folder named additional applications.

    Be careful when deleting files. A lot of people have trashed their system when deleting things. Place things in trash. Reboot & run your applications. Empty trash.
    Go after large files that you have created & know what they are.  Do not delete small files that are in a folder you do not know what the folder is for. Anything that is less than a megabyte is a small file these days.

    OmniDiskSweeper is now free!

    This will give you a list of files and folders sorted by size. Go after things you know that are big.

    This will save you a gig of space.
    Monolingual is a program for removing unnecessary language resources from Mac OS X,in order to reclaim several hundred megabytes of disk space. It requires at least Mac OS X 10.3.9 (Panther) and also works on Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger). It worked for me on 10.4
