Beta doom 3 drivers causing any problems for anyo

I'm tempted to try the creative beta drivers for doom3, but use my computer to play dvds, listen to music, etc., so I don't want to mess up any of the other parts of the driver. The beta description has this warning:
[*]Some Creative applications such as Surround Mixer, THX Console, and Creative MediaSource? may not work properly with this beta driver.</LI>[*]Refer to Readme file for more information.</LI>
Of course, you can't get to the readme unless you install them. Are they working for people out there? Should I try them, or wait for the update?
Can I install the newer driver (from May 2) on top of them, or will I lose the beta driver benefits?

The may 2th driver PACK is nothing more then what it says - a pack of previous drivers. It does not however include the enhancements included in the beta driver, so in essence the beta driver is the newest driver you can get. I have had no problems with the beta driver at all.

Will 'Double NAT' cause any problems for me?

I have just received a Netgear VMDG280 Cable/ DSL modem/wireless router from Virgin Broadband in the UK and I plugged it into my Airport Extreme 802.11n base station. The internet works fine but the amber light remains flashing, warning me of a Double Nat error.
I can easily select for my Airport to 'ignore' this Double NAT error message, but am worried that by ignoring this warning, I might compromise something important in my whole broadband set up. Could it also reduce security etc?
Essentially, Im not doing anything fancy with my wireless network, besides running a Macbook Pro, Iphone, Ipad and friend's laptops etc.
With Double NAT existing on my network, will this affect the service I will receive in any way? Or can I just put it out of my mind?

The Netgear is already configured as the "main" router on your network. It is what we call a "gateway", a combination modem and router on the same chassis. The AirPort Extreme does not include a modem, so if you wanted to make it the "main" router on your network, you would need to purchase a separate stand alone modem and then set up the Netgear as a "bridge". That gets really complicated.
If you are seeing no adverse effects of the Double NAT, you can choose to "ignore" the message and the light will turn green. If you want to do this, open AirPort Utility, click Manual Setup, and then click on the word "Status" on the summary page. Click "ignore" regarding the Double NAT.
Networking rules specify that you should try to avoid the Double NAT situation if possible. On a simple home network this is not usually a serious error, but it can slowdown internet browsing. If you plan to add a gaming console and want to play online games with other people, then the Double NAT will probably prevent you from doing so.
My suggestion to place the AirPort Extreme in bridge mode was just that...a suggestion. If you are happy with the performance of your network now and simply want to get the light to turn green, you can choose to "ignore" the message.

This is considered normal use. I think everybody does this, including myself. It's not something to worry about in the least bit.
Just remember to complete a full charge cycle (allow the phone's battery to discharge to 10%-20%, then charge uninterruped to 100%) once a month and you'll be fine.

You should be able to copy all of your purchases (apps, music, films etc) from your current iPhone to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases. As long as they remain available in the store then apps can be re-downloaded, music can be re-downloaded in some countries, and TV shows and films in fewer (and even where films can be re-downloaded not all film studios have agreed to it) - ringtones and audiobooks can't be re-downloaded.

In terms of the apps content and settings, then if you backup the phone to your computer's iTunes then you should be able to restore that backup onto your new phone : how to backup and restore. Passwords (email, router, website) won't be restored onto a different device so you will need to re-enter them on your new phone.
You can also copy photos off your current phone. Just in case the backup and restore doesn't work (it should but it's best to be safe), you may also want to copy any important documents off your current phone as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc.

It won't cause you any issues or problems....
it is however, suggested you install the same brand RAM that are of the same specs....

Installing different brands with different CL speed might cause issues....
so if you already have a G.Skill RAM installed, then install the same brand.

If I use Explorer, none of these problems exist. This suddenly happened overnight! I have your newest upgrade and I haven't had any problems for the past year or so....this is weird.

Do pop phones cause any problems with the iphone?

I recently started using a pop phone with my iphone. ( it looks like a telephone handset and plug into my iphone). Shortly thereafer I noticed that I am no longer able to get my phone to charge. Has anyone else noticed any problems after using this device?

The phone goes on the charger at night every night and is at 100% when I am up. The only thing that I use it for is calls e-mail and an occasional Text. I don't; use for music or movies or anything like that. I do play solitaire on it but that hasn't been a problem up to now. I went in and googled the iPhone 6 for power save settings and it gave me a way to look at the Activity.
The only thing that was used that day was Solitaire. I turned off Cell access to Solitaire and it seemed to last a little longer. I just turned it back on to see what happens.

There is no theoretical technical problem with multiple Oracle databases on a machine, and I have indeed such an environment on several machines.
Although people have been known to create their own technical problems by not being careful.
You may want to review your knowledge of Oracle architecture, as you MUST have separate ORACLE_HOMEs. The ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID are predefined for XE and it's important to keep things straight.

Itunes update causing weird problem for apple tv streaming songs

In itunes 10.5 when I choose apple tv as the external speaker and send songs through it plays the song and displays the cover of the album, title, song, name, and artist on the tv screen. When I updated to 10.5.1 it does the same except that after the first song the cd cover is one behind what is playing. For the sake of clarity, say I start the streaming songs on random play. The first three songs might be "Misty" by Kate Bush, "Rolling Along" by Lucinda Williams, and then "The Foggy Foggy Dew" by Greg Brown. When the first song plays it will be correct. "Misty" will be playing, Kate Bush will be displayed as the artist and the cover of the Kate Bush album will be showing. But when the next song comes on it will be playing "Rolling Along", Lucinda Williams will be displayed as the artist but the Kate Bush album cover will be displayed. Then the next song comes on "The Foggy Foggy Dew" will be playing, Greg Brown will be displayed as the artist but the Lucinda Wililams cover will be displayed. And so on.
I've experimented with it and feel certain it is the itunes update. I still have version 10.5 on my laptop and that is working normally. It is only the computer that I updated to 10.5.1 on that his having this weird thing occur.
Any ideas?

Mac os x 10.4.11 update -- causes printing problems for Lexmark X1150

What can I do to get back up printing? Lexmark.com doesn't have a driver to support. Apple Care doesn't have answers...
The computer recognizes the printer, and still scans... but no printing...
Any ideas would be most appreciated.....

I experienced exactly the same problems with my Epson CX6600 after upgrading to 10.4.11: the installed USB driver no longer worked ("Communication Error"), and after removing it, the device was not recognized. I tried all of the usual avenues: repaired disk permissions, ran Printer Setup Repair, downloaded new drivers, restarted numerous times, etc. All to no avail.
However, I did succeed in resolving the problem, after following a clue from Console's system.log. The following error message appeared each time the system was booted:
Feb 16 11:43:28 my-computer kextd: can't find extension with id com.apple.iokit.IOUSBUserClient
Running kextstat revealed that, accordingly, this kernel extension was not being installed on startup as it should be. I resolved the problem by replacing this kext, by deleting the entire /System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBFamily.kext tree and replacing it with a vanilla copy from the 10.4.11 combo updater package. This was done using the excellent Pacifist:

GeForce FX 5900 drivers causing mouse problems

This is a very strange problem, sometimes my mouse cursor seems to stop moving, but I can still move the mouse aorund and click on things if when I see where it highlights them. This happens with 3 different mice all the same result 2 the same manufacturer and 1 different it also doens't matter what drivers I use for both mouse and vid card. I've tried MSI, Nvidia, and Omeaga drivers for the vid card, and tried stock windows, microsoft, and logitech drivers for the corresponding mice. Now if I let it sit long enough like that it gives me a BSOD that states the problem resides in nv4_mini.sys. does anyone know anyway around this or should I contact Nvidia directly? It seems the OSFM player streaming causes init problems for Flash Player in Linux

I've been running a number of tests with the MediaPlayerSprite. When the video is to be streamed via RTMP FlashPlayer10 Linux debugger hangs for quite a while before drawing anything to the stage. The problem lies in the OSFMplayer/FlashPlayer because if you do not add the player to the stage via addChild you can hear the video almost instantaneously. However once you addChild the Flash Player goes dead for about 15 secs at least before the stage items appear.
In addition if you set the MPS autoplay to false all your onstage assets appear, however once you click a the play button things freeze up before they stream. The workaround here is to wait about 15 secs before clicking the play button then streaming is instant ( on most occasions ). With non streamed media assets appear once the compile is done.

This sounds like a Flash Player (Linux) bug, as the addChild call wouldn't go through any OSMF code.
I did a quick search in the Flash Player bug database, and the only issue that looks similar is this one:

Why is previewing songs in the iTunes Store causing a problem for me?

I don't have a problem playing music in my iTunes library or navigating around it, my problem is in the iTunes Store. If I select 'See All >' after searching for something in particlar then select a song and start scrolling down the page it becomes unresponsive. The 'time elapsed' freezes but the music keeps playing and I can move my cursor around the page but the page itself is at best unbelievably slow to respond and at worst completely unusable until the preview ends. The CPU usage rises to around 30% and stays at about that, fluctuating slightly, until the music stops. I've tried uninstalling iTunes and the programs that come with it and reinstalling them all but that was a waste of time.

Is there any problem for the board running HTT@1100mhz?

Well, I'm running my system 275x4=1100HTT, can I keep this if it's stable or is it risky? I think I've read somewhere that HTT shouldn't go beyond 1000mhz, could someone elucidate me?

I used 1100(2200) for a while and it was stable, but any thing above that appeared unstable. This was at default voltage with winchester 3500+ processor. Maybe under upped mobo voltage things look different.. ;-)
