Better resale value att or verizon

Which one is better resale value ATT or Verizon for Ipad 2 if i want to sell it in future ?
Say wi fi, 3G, 64GB and ATT or verizon..
Or doesnt matter ??
Thanks!
Jake

I guess it depends if the purchaser wanted a CDMA or GSM iPad. The GSM model would not be worth anything to a Verizon customer and the CDMA model would not be worth anything to an AT&T customer.

I'm wondering the same, since the developer forums have been down since the release.

  • ATT or Verizon (USA)?

If one doesn't care about surfing while conversing, is there any consensus about which service is better for a new iPhone subscriber?  I guess better means better phone reception in more places, effective speed, and reliability.

Do you have cell phone service now? If so, I guess it is safe to assume it is not with ATT or Verizon.
You can check the coverage maps for each carrier where you live and make some new friends by asking someone you see with an iPhone which carrier they are with and if they are happy with it.
You can return an iPhone for payment credit within 30 days of the purchase date less a 10% restocking fee and cancel the ATT contract within the same 30 day period or at the same time the iPhone is returned for payment credit.
I assume the same is available with Verizon.

  • Switching iPhone 4s from ATT to Verizon in Santa Fe, NM

    Hi All,
From the subject line: I am currently living in Washington DC and ATT service is reasonably good.  In Santa Fe, NM where I am moving, ATT has awful service and Verizon has a much better reputation.  I am considering switching upon my move.  What are the significant differences between ATT and Verizon on the iPhone?  I understand that data network access and phone calls cannot happen simultaneously. Not a situation I usually encounter.   Are there any other significant differences that I should know about?
    Thanks.....

At some point will I be asked to set up the phone as a Verizon device (I am porting my number from AT&T)? Or does iTunes/Apple read the serial number of my phone and "know" it is a Verizon unit tied to my specific number? How exactly does this step work?
The phone will come with activation instructions. The activation servers will "know" what carrier the phone belongs to. You will probably have to call an 800 number to finish accepting the contract.
Did you specify in the ordering process that you wanted to port over your AT&T number? If yes, the phone will be activated with your number. The port process usually takes about 5-30 minutes. During that time, you can make outgoing calls from either phone but only your AT&T phone will ring. Once the port process is complete, you'll get a text on your Verizon phone. At that point, the AT&T phone will no longer be connected to your number.
If you didn't request the port, you'll need to call customer service.
Yes, you MUST leave your AT&T account active until the port process is complete or you will lose your number.
    Best of luck.

  • Can an Ipad 2 3G bought in US be used in Spain with a local phone company contract or is it locked to ATT or Verizon? I am buying it here in the US but will be using it primarily in Spain. Thanks

ATT should be okay, but not Verizon.  Look at the right panel, under "More like this", other users have asked similar questions.

which ipad is good for Panama att or verizon ?

    AT&T by far.
GSM dominates the overall worldwide market by a significant margin.
Check AT&T's website for how many GSM network "partners" they have throughout the world compared to Verizon.
    Copied from AT&T's website.
Stay connected while traveling to more than 220 countries and on more than 140 cruise ships, and access email and the Internet in more than 195 countries.
I believe Verizon has 35 countries.

  • CSpire iPhone in comparison to ATT and Verizon iPhones

What is the technology of the CSpire iPhone in comparison to the ATT and Verizon iPhones?

It's a CDMA iPhone. Just like any other CDMA iPhone. It is locked to CSpire and can not be unlocked.
What "technology" are you talking about?

No. The radio hardware is incompatible.

  • ATT or Verizon

Not sure if I can ask this question here...
In your opinion/experience, which carrier offers the best over all LTE? Verizon or ATT.
I currently have Verizon for my current iPad, and I'm generally happy with it. But I've been hearing good things about ATT. I'm going to get a new iPad and am trying to decide if I should stick to Verizon or get the new iPad with ATT.
    What are your thoughts/recommendations?

  • 3G with ATT verses Verizon...

I've read that the IP4 S is faster downloading in 3G with ATT verses Verizon under ideal conditions.  Is the same thing true with the iPad 2 with ATT verses Verizon?

Network speed is network speed, so they would be the same.  But verizon vs att is really dependant on exactly where you plan to use the device.  Each of the carriers has places where they do good, and places where they do not.  If you can, run your own test in a place where you will be using the network, doing the kind of things you would plan to do.   In theory, att network is slightly faster.  But that does not always play out in real life.

  • Being a a valued customer at Verizon?

Verizon does not value their customer...it's time for some change!   Paid from Feb. 2006 (customer since 2001 but did not go back this far) to Feb. 2015, a total of $17381.45.  Never called me or emailed me of any type of promotion, the phone upgrades they offered where not really anything because you get hooked with another two year contract. When I switched provider, still charged me with a $170.00 cancellation fee and since I didn't canceled  a tablet they charged me $ 80.00 per month for a 4 GB line.  When i asked if they could do something about this so maybe I come back to Verizon in the future, I just got hung up on.  This is what paying more than $ 17381.45 get you.  Great Customer Service.   Seems like Verizon really doesn't care because still has enough costumer to take from.  cbinsner

You were charged a $170 fee likely because you were still in contract. I don't care what provider you're with...if you're under contract and you don't finish it out then you will owe them money.
You chose not to cancel the tablet so yes, you were charged every month for it. Unless you failed to give some other info about this part then yes, you were supposed to be charged.
You wanted to upgrade and the stipulation for doing so at the time with a subsidized phone price was to sign a 2 year contract. Would have happened with any other provider so....Verizon isn't the big bad wolf on this.
As for how much you paid over the years...every plan you had you agreed to. Every month you had service you owed that money. Every month Verizon did their part by providing the service you and the company agreed to. In no way were you owed anything above that so going out of your way to put the dollar amount you've paid through the years doesn't make VZW look like the devil that didn't love you enough. It looks like you as a customer enjoyed their service enough to continue the relationship. Each time your contract ended you could have made the decision to move on to a better company. There is a reason you didn't do that. There is a reason I have done that (I've been a customer a little longer than the years you posted and have paid substantially more than you have over the years). VZW doesn't owe me or any of us anything more than the services we agreed upon for the price we agreed upon. If they failed to provide you with those outlined things then yes, you have a right to be mad. Them not giving you loyalty perks...that's not owed to you. Those are things that no company is required to do. If that is important to you then hopefully you are now with a company that will give you those things.

  • In my area StraightTalk uses both ATT and Verizon cell towers.

How do I know which model iPhone to choose to get Verizon's towers? I would like to purchase an iPhone 5 used. I live about 120 miles direcly SE of Wash DC that gets poor coverage from BOTH.
I already have an iPhone 4 on ATT using an antenna on the roof with a booster in the house.  Visitors using Verizon seem to get about a 10% better signal, but that 10% means a lot.  Thanks.
    Jim/Maryland

Steve... if you had truly marginal service from ATT ..and know people who had less-marginal service from Verizon, then you'd want to switch for a bird-in-the-hand - today.  I would expect in three years, a whiole 'nother service may be available...
I keep a wonderfuly cheap Net10, flip phone in my truck..as a handy 'pay phone'. I have 8,500 minutes accumulated.  (a new iP5 and the current iP4 is used by my wife)
... I must add, that I so much hate Verizon because of their crappy service as the former monolopy carrier to both my home and business that I cut the hardwire at both places and would refuse to enter a direct contract with them ever again.
I have Dish Network for Sat. connections for my Macs at home.. an ATT data plan for an iPad ..and Comcast phone and internet at my business.   ..but, Verizon's cell tower seems a little closer (or stronger signal) to my home.

  • Is there a better way to deal with Verizon and my DSL issues?

My family and I have been with Verizon for as long as we've had broadband internet. For the past 5 years or so the internet has been shaky at best. For the most part it works, but a coupe times a year it stops working all together or becomes VERY intermittent (and is usually working by the time I get finished sitting on hold and the test the technician runs shows no problems). Every time I have to wrestle with the "tech support" on the phone and listen to a recording tell me the same things over and over again that never fix my problems.
Every time my internet gets to this point, it requires a visit from a Verizon technician. Usually they go out into the neighborhood and find a length of cable and replace it. Usually that fixes my issues for a while, but I know it will happen again. It always happens again.  It seems to me that the entire length of line that my internet runs through is old, and needs to be replaced. Instead of fixing the problem before it actually becomes a problem, Verizon continues to leave me and my family without service for periods of time.
Last week was the most recent time we dealt with this situation, which was fortunately short lived (Only all day Sunday, into Monday when the technician arrived). It's getting VERY tiring dealing with this situation over and over again, and it's getting offensive honestly. To hear the tech support person tell me that I will be charged $91 if the problem is found and is inside my house is ridiculous. I would understand if this was the first time this situation had occurred, or if I frequently reported non-issues. But no, I'm simply reporting the same issue that Verizon has failed to fix MANY times before.
Perhaps the most frustrating part of this, is that we've never been compensated for our lost service. Last year we lost service for an entire week. That's an entire week with no internet service at all. After we finally got it back, we spoke with the billing department and they told us that we would be credited for the week we lost service. At this point, we are yet to see any credit for the time we have been without the service we pay for. Perhaps we would have tried dealing with Verizon again to get our weeks credit, but attempting to contact someone in Verizon seems futile. Unless you're calling sales you end up sitting on hold for extended periods of time, only to be bounced from person to person until you get to someone that has no excuse not to pretend to help you.
Unless something changes, this is Verizon's last opportunity to keep our service. We have dealt with the loss of service followed by the insult of attempting to deal with Verizon's customer support for the last time. Next time it happens (and I'm sure there will be a next time) unless Verizon shows us that they are actually going to correct the problem, we will cancel our service and give our business to the competitor. This post is being written for a few reasons. I'm hoping that perhaps Verizon can give me a better way to contact someone locally when we have a problem (I would LOVE to speak with a regional manager, or even a local manager of some sort), or at least recognize that there is a problem that will end up costing them money.
    Thank you,
    A long time customer.

I've decided to give up the fight and go to another provider.  I have work to do and having to wait at speeds slower than dial up is insane.  At least with dial up I'd have some stability.  I can't even run speedtest because it won't connect.  At hotels, wi-fi, and hanging by blackberry the laptop works fine but to actually use dsl, nope.  Multiple machines and multiple browsers - it's all the same worthless bandwidth.
If they won't give you fios then there is no reason to stay.  They've been promising me the service is coming for the last 6 years.  They could have run it here by now for the postage they've spent trying to get me to switch to it even though it isn't available.  Waste, waste, waste ....
