Bex Query report error in cal month /year column

Hi Experts,
We have a bex query on virtual provider with only one column in it i.e 'cal year / month'( This virtual provider ahs been created from planning area). I'm having the problem with this column.
In the excel output of this report the cal year /month is displaying as follows.
01/0000 02/0000 03/0000 04/0000 05/0000 06/0000 07/0000 08/0000 09/0000 08/2008 09/2008 10/2008 11/2008 12/2008 01/2009 02/2009 03/2009 04/2009 05/2009 03/2010 04/2010 05/2010 06/2010 07/2010 08/2010 09/2010 10/2010 11/2010 12/2010 01/2011 02/2011 03/2011 04/2011 05/2011 06/2011 07/2011 08/2011 09/2011 10/2011 11/2011 12/2011 01/2012 02/2012 03/2012 04/2012 05/2012 06/2012 07/2012 08/2012
I'm not getting why the first 9 columns its displaying as 01/0000 02/0000 03/0000 04/0000 05/0000 06/0000 07/0000 08/0000 09/0000 .
It should display as
08/2008 09/2008 10/2008 11/2008 12/2008 01/2009 02/2009 03/2009 04/2009 05/2009
06/2009 07/2009 08/2009 09/2009 10/2009 11/2009 12/2009 01/2010 02/2010 03/2010 04/2010 05/2010 06/2010 07/2010 08/2010 09/2010 10/2010 11/2010 12/2010 01/2011 02/2011 03/2011 04/2011 05/2011 06/2011 07/2011 08/2011 09/2011 10/2011 11/2011 12/2011 01/2012 02/2012 03/2012 04/2012 05/2012 06/2012 07/2012 08/2012
My data source is fetching the correct data including this cal year/ month.

I assume you are running Crystal for enterprise 4.0 SP02 Patch 08 !!
According to OSS note 1651521 , This issue has been fixed in FP3 which is planned to be released in first quarter of 2012 !!!!!! ouch !!!!!
I am facing same issue , Pls let me know if you already solved it.

BEX Query: by selection of actual month/year also shows month/year-1

Hi
When I set the selection value 11.2010 or also 11/2010, as result of the Query I get the values for 11.2010 but I also receive 11.2009.
This also when I use the selection with 11/2010, I get also 11/2009 too.
Can someone tell me how I can set the query, that it will stick with my values and not add the previous year?

Check whether the variable created for month year is a customer exit Variable.
In a customer exit variable the code can be written such as to bring the data from current year current month to the last year current month.

Column chart from Bex query with 2 characteristics in rows and column

Hi,
We're trying to represent the following column chart in Dashboard Design:
Material/Month
January
February
March
Material 1

Material 2

Material 3

The BEX query has:
Result objects: Material, Month/year; amount
The problem is when i paste the Material dimension in the Excel, i'm getting the following result:
Material/Month
January
February
March
Material 1
100
200
300
Material 1
400
500
600
Material 1
700
800
900
So, when i display the column chart, the material tag is incorrect:
as the image attached shows.

Happy to hear that its working now.
Answering your question, again its upto the connection and report format you are using. Based on your question i hope you your report output should be like this.
You cannot map to two labels for the series, again this report format is possible only in cross tab through Webi. I would suggest you to concatenate the material and month in a dimension in webi like below.
I have done the concatenation in excel level, i would suggest you to do that in webi. Try to reduce the formula as much in excel.
or
If you are using Query browser connection, then i would suggest you to create a separate report which will display the actual vs plan material wise, here you need to pass the material as a prompt.

Publishing a BEx Query reports from BI Portal to Main portal

We have 2 portals in out landscape.
BI system has its own portal and the main portal for the commercial users.
I have a requirement to bring BEx query Reports to Main portal.
I am wondering, how this can be done.

1. You can connect BW/BI system with your portal.
2. Create BEx iview (7.0) from iview templates.
3. Then display report on portal.

Bex Query Variable error in Webi and Crystal for Enterprise

We just upgrade to BOBJ 4.1 SP2 and BW7.4 SP5
I am creating a webi report based on a BEx query. There is Variable on Period/Fiscal Year from BEX side(Mandatory prompt) when I try to create a Webi or Cyrstal for Enterprise report the below error pops up. Other Bex queries work correctly. Can it be the values in the variable the following values exist when execute from Bex i.e. 001.2012; Period 2013
Is the SAP Note : 1611185 relevant for 4.1 SP2
Error:
com.businessobjects.sdk.core.server.CommunicationException$UnexpectedServerException: Termination message sent
ABEND DBMAN (257): SQL Error: INTERNAL_ERROR
MSGV1: INTERNAL_ERROR
Is this True for BOBj4.1 SP2?

Selection range variables are not fully supported in Crystal Reports for Enterprise.

It is not possible to set Authorization variables as mandatory. They are set to "optional" and cannot be changed (BEx limitation).

I need to create the report which will show employee wise count of tickets in a day,week,month and year.
Day: count(tickets) for current date
Week: count(tickets) for current week
Month: count(tickets) for current month
Year: count(tickets) for current year
I need to show all these four columns in a horizantal table. I am using crystal reports2008. Please help me. ur help would be appreciated.

create 4 formulas for day, week, Month and year
for ex, in Day formula
IF Date Field = CurrentDate then 1 else 0... similarly for other ranges. Create a Group based on employee, and insert a SUM summary field of these formulas in Group header.

Prompt in BeX query getting error

I am getting below error when I am creating prompt in BeX query. It working fime if I am using this query in Olap Analysis but in Webi I am getting below error. I am using BO 4.0

Hi,
1) Check product availability matrix (PAM) if everything is on supported version.
2) Upgrade to some latest patch of 4.0
If this does not help then I would recommend, raise it directly to SAP Support team.
Probably you can open connections to your BW system and engineer can directly check the query you are using.

BEx Query Designer Error

Hi All,
I have a problem where I have just updated to SP 18 and now the BEx Query Designer comes up with a problem, I can open the Query Desinger but when I go to open a query from my history the Query Designer shuts down immediatly.
Has anybody got any Ideas?
The SAP Gui and Business Explorer is 710.

Query Report Error ( Call function inside Query report )

Hello every body,
I'v database Oracle 11g R2 and i have Apex 4.1 , when i run my report with a simple query :

I got the following message error :

concatenate schema name with your function
for example
select gydb_wf_id,
gydb_workflow_name,
gydb_work_flow_owner,
ABC.FUNC_GET_NBR_LAST_STEPS ( gydb_workflow_id) NBR // here i have written ABC as schema name
from gybd_workflow ;try and see it is working or not.

Bex Query Transportation Error

While i try to access bex query for transportation using transport connection>queryElements>Query, sap throws Dump Error.
Is any body came across with this pls help me for solution.

Hi,
This happens whenever there is not a sufficient memory available for processing. This can happen with any activity in the system like data loading, deletion, creation of objects etc.
Please ask your basis team to make sure that there is sufficient memory (tablespace) available in the system.
This will solve the issue.

Asset report error in New fiscal year

Dear gurus,
Today my company meet the problem when run asset report is pop up "fiscal year change not yet made for company code 1000". But when i ask my user they told me that they already run the AJRW.
I seacrh to forum how to check whether any tcode that fiscal year change havee benn made or not?
when i run OAAq it show company code 1000 = 2009 It okey?.. any guru please help.. can we run another AJRW?

In OAAQ you see only the closed fiscal year.
In table T093C you can see the current fiscal year. Here you an see if the fiscal year change have been made or not.
Jagdish is right, you can make the fiscal year change multiple times. This is no problem at all.

Problem with a Bex Query Report with Web Intelligence

Hello!
I have a Bex query (with query Bex version 7.0) I'm connecting with Web Intelligence (4.0) but one of the attributes instead of displaying the description shows only the key, and it is strange because other cubes if given by the conversion.
I wonder if there is a solution for this or if it is a problem of version 4.0 of Web Intelligence.

Whereabouts in the application are you seing this problem? (in the query panel conditions, in the prompt list of values, or in the table block? )
also, what do you mean by "and it is strange because other cubes if given by the conversion" ?
it's worth noting that the "key and text display properties" in the Bex Query Designer do not influence webi. WebI consumes the global infoobject property from BW RSH1.

SSRS Matrix report to show or hide year column based on parameter value "Date" selected.

I have a requirement an ssrs matrix report should display columns (year/s) based on parameter value (date/s).
My Dataset fileds are: Product, Year_name, Month_name, Date
Currently my report output looks like this-

My requirement: if I'm selecting Date parameter value as '2013-xx-xx' I should only able to see Year column 'Calender2013' and rest of the years should hide. Similarly If I'm selecting Date parameter value as '2014-xx-xx' I should only able to
see Year column 'Calender2014' .

Hi Afan,
According to your description, you want to only show the selected year on your report, right?
In this case, you need to get the year from the date parameter using the expression below
=Year(Parameters!Date.Value)
And then use the expression below to get the year from Year_Name field.
=Right(Fields!Year_Name.Value,4)
Then add a filter to the dataset to filter the data like below
Expression:=Year(Parameters!Date.Value)
Operator:=
Value:=Right(Fields!Year_Name.Value,4)

Uni on Bex-Query: filter on Structure - Without Keyfigures as column: error

Hi All,
I have a 'Without Key Figure structure' as a column called Version in which (amoung others) the values 'Actual' and 'Last Year' .
Thus
Version
- Actual
- Last Year
Now i want to create a filter in my universe which pre-selects Actual.
When I use the tool for that this is my standard definition of the filter:
<FILTER KEY="@Select(Version\Version)">
<CONDITION OPERATORCONDITION="Equal">
<CONSTANT VALUE="Actual"/>
</CONDITION>
</FILTER>
However it results in error: 'A database error occured. The database error text is: (CS) "Error on BindCol". (WIS 10901)'
Meaning(i guess) that somehow i'm not getting the correct selection-command to the database,
When i use the version-dimension itself in the reports as part of the query filter it works fine and LOV displays both versions for selection.
We are using XI3.1 fp3.1; BW 701-sp5 on oracle 11
I've look through the forum, but couldnt find an answer.
If there is point me into that direction and i'll close this one
Any other information on how filters etc should be specified in an Universe on a BW query is also greatly appreciated.
I already have found some info but any information is welcome.

ADhoc query : reporting error

I am getting an error with Adhoc query.
When ever i open a report in the transaction code S_PH0_48000513,the query is not allowing me to open the report.

Please be sure that you are using right <b>Work Area</b> and <b>User Group</b>.select the query and double click on the infoset name. I hope it will work.
