BEx version message ... editing BI Stats query. Whatu0092s the Implication?

Hi,
In executing the query 0TCT_MC22_Q0104 - Long term trends in total runtime I got an message which suggested that I was not getting data because of some conditions in the query.
I selected the icon Change Query(Global Definition) in BEx, in the attempt to edit the query but got this message:
The component was edited with a more recent version of the Editor. You also have to use the more recent version to edit further.
Further processing not possible. Update your front end.

I suspect it want me to use a more recent version of BEx, but what version?
(Is this documented anywhere?)
My current BEx is: Final Release 3.50; Version 3500.6.569

Does it mean that when one installs BI Statistics, all BEx in the environment needs to be updated to this new BEx version?
If so, any effect on the existing queries in the environment?

Hi,
is there a way to establish that? because I may have to make a case for why I need this patch?
Also, with this new patch, if I do go ahead with it, will it affect the other queries once I edit a query with the new version?
i.e. will an edited query in the new BEx (or patch), still be available for developers using the old versions to work on them? Or, it means that they all need to upgrade to the new version?

Query server not responding (SPFEI02) -- SharePoint 2007 version Enterprise Edition.

We noticed that the Intranet Content Incremental Crawl started on 12/8/2014 at 5.00 PM CST is still not completed and currently it is in Hung state waiting for the propagation
to be completed as the QUERY server not responding "SPFEI02”. Following are the quick status currently on Search in Intranet.
There is no Index corruption recorded on the Index server.
There is no Index corruption recorded on both the Query server’s.
Search functionality is working fine in Intranet application.
We tried with restarting the "Office SharePoint server search" service under Services.msc of CPBPSPFEI02 server but didnot help us.
Verified the Search account status,accessibility of the network path from Index server to the WFE (Query server role) and also the permission settings on the index folder present on CPBPSPFEI02 and everything looks good. Last weekend we had Windows Patch
updation process completed on this server.
Could you please help us how to fix this issue with out any index corruption and also in the search functionality disruption on the application.
Environment Details
1) MOSS 2007 SP2 platform with license type Enterprise Edition
2) 2 WFE's,1 APP server and 2 DB servers ( 1 clustered DB server and 1 DB server attached to Farm)

EJB Transaction timeout and Statement Query Timeout

I am looking for some details on how statement query timeout is set when statement execution is part of the session bean transaction. I have done some test in webshere 6.1. and JBoss 5.0 and not getting the desired behavior. My understanding is following
- DB is Oracle 11g
- EJB transaction is set to 5 mins.
- Query time out setting is set to default vaule (not sure what is the default value)
- Session bean is updating say customer record using PreparedStatement
- Prior to calling session bean method I am locking the customer record using external/db tool and holding the lock.
- Call session bean method. Method waits endlessly for the lock to be acquired. No transaction rollback after 5 mins.
- After 10 minutes commit the transaction in the external db tool
- Session bean methods throws transaction rollback.
My understanding was that query timeout is set based on transaction "time to live". Please share out thoughts.

The following configuration seems working:
version: OC4J (9.0.3.0.0) (build 020927.1699)
AM deployment:
- bc4j.xcfg: <jbo.ejb.txntimeout>30000</jbo.ejb.txntimeout>
- orion-ejb-jar.xml: <session-deployment name="..." timeout="0"/>
OC4J config:
- data-source: inactivity-timeout="30000"
This keeps connection open for more than default 30 mins of inactivity (30000 secs configured).
Although, oc4j console prints multiple warnings:
DriverManagerConnectionPoolConnection not closed, check your code!
Looks like this is not an intended usage - but working.
Notice that it was a test, not a production environment.
Also pls see 9033: AM as EJB Session bean: pooled connection lost for new txn

I have PSE13 on my system, Windows 8.1, 64-bit. It was functioning properly after installation and now I get these messages when I go to print: "The saved printer information is not compatible with this version of Photoshop Elements, or the saved printer is no longer available. You need to check your printer settings before printing." and then this statement: "Default printer could not be opened." I have reloaded drivers for both printers and made any upgrades possible. It was working fine before and now all of a sudden, nothing. Would prefer to have old PSE v.12 back, it worked with no problems.

Hyperlinks Not Working After First Click AND Message Editable in Inbox

Recently, we have noticed some marketing emails we'd sent out are acting weird when we receive them in Apple Mail.
We are using a reputable email marketing company to send the messages so I assume the formatting should be OK but occasionally the emails we send out:
1.) Will allow clicking a hyperlink once but not again. By this, I mean you can click on the link and launch the default browser and visit the link but, if you go back to the message and hover over the link, the cursor is an I beam instead of the link cursor.
2.) The message, while still in the Inbox, is actually editable! This might be the crux of the link issue since, if Mail is authoring a message, it won't allow you to click on a link (but will once the message has been sent and is in the Sent folder.
Other details:
a.) The hyperlink cursor will actually fail any time you have clicked inside the message body. So clicking the link the first time counts as clicking inside the message body.
b.) Closing and reopening the offending message will reset the message so you can click successfully once again.
c.) If you close the message that is "edited" it will not be saved.
This is happening on several OS and Mail combinations. (OS 10.5.8 and Mail 3.6, 10.6.4 and Mail 4.3 and 10.6.6 Mail 4.4)
We've only noticed this on emails that emanate from our email marketing company but it could be happening with others. We were wondering if there is some formatting they use that could cause this or if it's an Apple Mail bug.
Very hard to diagnose. Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. Let me clarify: not sure how it could be an Apple Mail preference thing since the problem seems to track certain messages more than anything and the problem appears in at least 3 Mail apps versions on 3 different computers across 3 different operating systems. That would be a pretty coincidental preference anomaly!
And yes, I said it could be happening with others; the operative word is "could". I didn't mean to imply by "could" that it indeed was. Just didn't want to rule out that possibility.

error messages--- had to give up trying to convert---I copied all our pictures to our windows 7 laptop and I installed adobe photoshop elements 12 (my bought program)
I wanted to try to convert there first. also I copied our catalog to this computer also. Everything was working fine I could see the collections just as they where on the XP computer.
then I tried to convert on the laptop. I believe the error said something about corrupt file, so I gave up that day. Next day I tried to open ADOBE STARTER EDITION 3.2 and it wanted an unlock code, no such code exists. and my copy of Elements 12 turned into a trial version which has expired. So I am a little hesitant to try to convert on the XP computer and mess up the existing catalog,
unless there is a fool proof way. I have tried manually making collections/ albums on Windows 8.1 and PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS 12 and coping pictures into the new albums. sloooow!!
I probably have about 4500 pictures and 150 collections/ albums to go. So any suggestions would be appreciated.

Messages in Ready state are not dequeuing.

Messages are being left in a "Ready" state. Everything was working fine in 10g. However there was an upgrade to 11g and now queues have stop working. It is a multiconsumer queue with one subscriber. I can manually dequeue messages but the subscriber call back does not seem to function.

Message in scheduled state

Hi Experts,
In our production system, messages are frequently going to 'scheduled for outbound processing" state. After the manual retry the messages are going through. We are planning to setup RSQIWKEX, RSARFCEX and RSXMB_RESTART_MESSAGES for automatic restart of the messages.
However, my question here is, why the message is going into scheduled status? When i compare a message which is in scheduled state, i find the below message in the trace.

Please allow me to ask few more questions.
1. How does the RSQIWKEX work? The purpose of the report is to reset the queue. If the queue is reset what will happen to the messages which are struck?
2. What is the difference between resetting the queue and restarting the messages?
3. If the message in the queue is failed due to genuine reason, if the report reset or restart the message, will it again block the queue, since the message will fail again? How this scenario will be handled by report?
4. Probably a very basic question, if a queue is retrying for a message or closed saying SYSFAIL, Will not PI automatically use another queue to process the rest of the messages since the QoS is EO? Why the messages are getting pilled up in the same queue?

Cash flow statement Query

Hi,
I had used the RSZC transaction to migrate query 0FIGL_VC1_Q0002 - Cash flow statement, based on 0FIGL_VC1 to a custom virtual cube which extracts data from a cube containing general ledger accounting (New) data. on execution of the query, no data is displayed.
In a similar fashion the query 0FIGL_V10_Q0001, which is based on virtual cube 0FIGL_V10 was migrated to the same custom virtual cube and was found to be executing.
has anyone faced similar issue with cash flow statement query?

Displaying BEx Error Messages in WebI

Hi
Is it possible to have the BEx error messages displayed in a WebI Report?
We have various scenarios where an error message is returned from customer exit variables, which is displayed nicely in the browser if the BEx query is executed, but is not shown at all when the same query is run in a WebI document.
Is there a way to get this done?

Hi Andrew,
a very good suggestion of course, but sadly missing from the XI3.1 integration scenario.
My understanding is that the BW OLAP BAPI (as used externally by WebI, via MDX universes) does not surface these error messages natively .. so this warning isn't sent to the front-end
To some extent, this problem also remains in BI4.0 where the JCo error-handling still isn't fully captured between APS DSL Bridge and the BW BICS API . (unless low level tracing is enabled)
would be interesting to know what tips might be out there in the ecosystem, but i haven't seen any match winners to date.
