BH-903 is a bad product

Hi,
BH-903 is a well designed headsed with great features but I am too disappointed with it.
I bought it on january last year and received a non functional headset ( left and right keys were not working). I had to send it back to Nokia and received a new one. 10 months after, stop and play/pause keys. I received a new one and now just 1 month after the end of the guarantee, I  have the same problem.
The design may be great but in the end the product is **bleep**.

The reason for this post, is to make sure anyone who does the research is aware that this product is a PC keyboard which has numerous differences from the mac keyboard. The obvious one that anyone learning keyboard shortcuts would notice in the first 5 seconds is the layout of the COMMAND and CTRL keys, which can be remapped, but still has considerable differences in spacial relationship. Logic is a music making program. Many users are musicians. Many musicians know the importance of spacial relationship. Drummers arrange their drums a particular way. Guitarists get familiar with the pick up configuration on their guitars, Vocalists practice proximity relationships. Therefore, in respect to THIS PARTICULAR PROGRAM, LOGIC, I strongly suggest users consider sticking with a MAC keyboard layout. If you can afford a MAC, and you can afford LOGIC and all the other stuff that comes with making music, then you can aford a MAC keyboard. besides, this editors key keyboard is MORE expensive than a mac keyboard. Obviously someone didn't do their research before commenting.
For Logic, I suggest the stickers on a mac keyboard.
If you are a PC user switching to MAC, then maybe a PC keyboard wont bother you. It's just important that people should know what they are buying before they buy it.
I am lightening fast on a mac computer. I know all the keyboard shortcuts for the OS, and many other programs like Excel, Outlook, Pro-Tools, and more. When people see me juggle between applications and perform tasks, their head spins. For someone who is like me, or aspires to learn to be efficient on a computer, a consistent keybaord is a must. A person could learn to switch between a PC and MAC keyboard just like someone can switch between a guitar and a bass, but why spend that time if you don't have to.

  • MEGA 180: A story of stupidity mixed up with bad product design

This is more for a word of caution to Mega180 users and future owners.
A bit angry as I managed to burn ( physically ) 2 harddrives  because of carefulness about 10 mins.
Spend quite some time looking for a SATA to ATI power converter while looking for a solution to CPU temp problem. Could not find one ( and  I don't know if any one does it )
As my old HD did not start the OS on Mega180 for some data transfer I was not able to use my USB external HD. So I decided to connect old HD as slave and do a HD to HD transfer. Here comes the bad design, the HD connection cable specifies a slot for a slave HD however there is only one power connector (ATI) for supported IDE HD. and there is a useless SATA power connector,it is useless as MEGA 180 does not support SATA.
Here comes the stupidity, for a min I came up with the bright idea of using the CD drives power connector ( I now remember that I ruled this option earlier, I wish I remembered it all along) As there is always a current on this cable (when there is a power connection - for the HIFI mode to work ) I guess some static electricity effected my HD. Not having realised the HD is already affected, I swapped the cables as the HD connection cable is not long enough to keep 2 HDs in a steady state.
As a result both my HDs are now not working, when I tried the original master HD I was horrified to see a spark and some fume
I wish I never tried to use my old graphics card - which I wanted only for the DVI support. This led to CPU temperatures of average 70 degree celcius and when I ever I tried to use the PC properly I was had to turn it off due to extreme temperatures over 75 degree celcius.
All I was after is a troublefree smooth working nice looking PC, yet I am stuck now... I am both upset for the data I lost as well as hours I spend in trying to put this thing together. I will decide in the morning to return or keep the product. If I keep it the next challenge will be getting my external HD to run an OS as I need to save up again to buy a new HD, I was hoping my next HD would be a SATA one :(
This is definately a bitter lesson. Such a pity that with just a little more effort MSI could have really improved the profuct most are listed here but I want to summarise:
    1. before getting the new product out try fitting a new graphics card and a TV card and operate both for 2 hours... That is if you could fit them both in the first reason why you could not is the cables from power supply is unnecessarily long for supplying power to the board and unsuitably located. the best you could do is place them all infront of the cpu fan.
    2. It is really great to have detachable ODD and HD yet Floppy drive ( card reader ) bay is static
    3. a better location for CPU or card slots would have contributed to airflow far more.
Better close here... I am still not sure if positives of the product companates all the negatives.

Simply, be aware that the power cable for the CDRom is live most all the time that your backpanel power cord is plugged in. Its for the support of CD/MP3 in HI-Fi mode. If you shut down your system, and not unplug the power, and you try to connect or disconnect anything to the IDE cable, and you are using the power cable for the CD, you can cause static/surging on the component you are hooking up....
If you must hookup an alternate drive [slave] for data dumping/imaging etc. use a Y cable from the HDD power cable. It only activates when the PC power switch is utilized....

  • Dissappointing Service and Bad Product

This message is written by an highly dissappointed customer to toshiba forums so people in Toshiba would understand and react towards customer benefits and customer service.
I got a new toshiba laptop back in November 2010 and it was working fine until one day it just says i wont start. It doesnt start and goes to blue screen. The first time i call in they say sir you need to recover the Laptop which i did and the process stopped while the call got disconnected too and i called in again they asked me to do it all over again which i did, ok which didnt work by the way and they told me i need to order new disk to fix this issue which is due to something which i dont even know. Toshiba doesnt give recovery disk with their laptops when you first buy them and than i said alright lets get the disk to get the problem solved guess what i paid some money and got the disk i was sure it wasnt going to work but i tried as per their request and it didnt so they said i need to send in the product. My badluck i was out of the country than as i have to travel in and out a lot for work, i spent a $125 for shipping from Cayman Islands to their service center, they worked on it for 7 to 10 days and sent it back to me saying its working, i told them to ship it to my US address which i went after 2 months and checked my latop which turned to be exactly the same as i sent them so i called the service center and they said we are very sorry but we fixed all the issues i am unsure why its not working (I still see the blue screen before rebot). So i go through a big set of trouble shoting as now the technicians are zapped how can this happen even when the system is sent to service center its not working so i tried receovery again no results. So i have to send the laptop back again luckily i was in the US at that time, so they take 10 to 12 days again to fix this thing and send the laptop back to me at the US Address so i am super excited that it is fixed and i tell my friend to ship it back to me in cayman islands from NJ and he spends another $125 and i get the laptop works killer for 2 days and than boop the Wireless is gone bad.. I am sick at this movement and i dont want to call Toshiba again so i am like let me restore it will work.. guess what it did but than in 2 more hours boop wireless gone again.
So i get really pissed and call their customer service department and they asked me what happened bla bla and i explained them they transfered me to a Case Manager or Case Relation Manager her name was Kim. I said Kim i sent my laptop in several times to get it fixed the cost of the laptop is $500 and i spend $350 already ont he shipping and recorvery disk if i send the laptop again i will spend more money than its worth and i am still not sure if you guys will have a solution.
I told her there is something wrong with the Product and not your Customer Support, Technical Team or Repair Center. You clearly see these problems you laptop is defective i am asking for an exchange, she bluntly says no its not the product which really means she doesnt trust the customer and she doesnt even care what we are facing as a problem.
At the end i said " I spent $1000 to buy this laptop 12 months back paid $350 on top of it to fix the laptop and used it only for 45 to 60 days and i am very dissapointed by Toshiba as my $1350 is going in the waste basket. She says sorry sir i will write your complain down and thanks for choosing toshiba.....
I am dissappointed and i need every **bleep** toshibian to know that let it be the customers or the managers or the employees this is not good product and not good support.
I will tell you for sure you lost me as your customer and i am extremely dissappointed with what has happened to me and i am sure if you think it your self you would feel this is wrong...
If i paid $X for a product i expect it to deliver something to me.
    Jay

Hi ! Sorry your having problems. This forum has very little contact with the repair department. We are all volunteers that try to assist Toshiba owners with problems. Sense you only posted here to complain; we can listen, but do not know what problems you were having so would be impossible to speculate. There may be more replies later. Week ends are rather slow here on the forum as we also have our lives to live and do not log on 24/7. What do you use for anti-virus protection??

  • Bad product

I purchased a Pravilion dv7 in 2/11. The mother board is already bad. This is going to cost me a couple of  hundred dollars besides not being able to use my computer for my business for several days. When speaking to the technitian I was told that I can spend 250 dollars and sent my computer in to hp. This will take several weeks. I have never heard of a mother board going out in less then 3 years. I believe the product is defective but of course I did not purchase the extended warranty because I have never had my computer go out in less that 3 years and I thought HP products were dependable. I was wrong. You can pay several hundered dollars for an extended warranty or pay several hundred dollars to fix your computer. I will not be buying another product from HP. I expect better service and dependablity from a product I spend 1000 dollars on.  I have a Dell that I bought in 2003. The mother board just went out and it is the first time I have had a problem with this product.

I have raised this post to the appropriate team for review.  Someone should contact you via private message in these forums.  It may take up to two days for someone to contact you.  Private messages can be checked by signing in and clicking on the envelope icon at the top of the page.

It started having problems from the keyboard to the system shutting down randomly andc now the battery wont even hold a charge for mre then an hour. I have followed their suggestion on taking care of the battery. /i think this is the worst laptop i have ever owned and I think they engineer them so the fall a part after the warranty is over. And I camt even contactg HP , i cant find an email or anything to send them a message to.

  • Bad product warning to Mac users

Avoid the Promise Smartstor 2400 if you plan to use a disk array. What a major waste of time. No drivers on their site, no tech support who know a **** thing about Macs, *** backwards USB. This thing is cheap piece of junk. I spent the better part of a day on the phone with these guys and nobody knows nothin' about using this product with a Mac, even though they ADVERTISE Mac compatibility on the box and claim you need Leopard (which I have). Just trying to save you from what I went through.

    Thanks for the heads up.

  • Bad product...no revert from apple..

I am a apple customer, i have purchased an I Pod classic from USA ( sr. 8L 716TYV9M), unfortunately the machine is acting in a way which it should not have. I went to get it repaired from apple authorized service centre in India at ahmedabad Gujarat, but i was told that my I Pod can only be replaced when I pay 50 % of the total cost and on too I will get the same Model. I have no issues in paying the money but then Why am i been forced to use  old technology when new is already in the contemporary market. I had been great Fan of Apple as a brand and was unofficial Brand ambassador  by promoting your product to my peeps, family members and colleagues. But this unsatisfying product support has disheartened me to the core. Once the sale is done 'the customer and seller become unknown to each other' i do not think this is the policy which Apple as a brand knows and i know it for sure from my past experiences and by watching the popularity of the company. I request you to please look into the matter and give me best possible solution for my situation.

Apple couldn't put this information somewhere with the package when you buy it from them
What information? That they can't track your iPod if it's stolen? Does your car company put a note on the dashboard that they can't track your car if it's stolen? Does the manufacturer of your television, blender, etc?
They can't send me a message saying "your Ipod was sync'd to a computer here"
No, they can't. That would be considered by many people to be a major invasion of privacy and people would be up in arms if they learned that this sort of information was being sent to Apple every time an iPod was synched to a computer.
And Apple has no way of knowing that you are still the legal owner of any given iPod, so there's no way they can give any sort of private information such as sync or location, even if they had it, to any individual. They can and will assist a legitimate law enforcement entity if the police request it, but the chances are slim that your local police will have the resources to take the time to contact any manufacturer of a stolen product, and it's limited to searching the service database to see if anyone has brought in that device for service.
Sorry, I really sympathize with your loss, but there's just nothing Apple can legally or technically do.

  • Bad quality laptop + Worst customer support A Series.

My laptop was showing blank screen. I had to send it to their repait center.
Dignosis was that the cable had become loose. It was fixed. So this was a bad product. It does not end there.
I had specifically sent a not with the computer NOT to reset my disk. Still they reset it. I lost all the installed software.
This is a defective product. I had to pay shipping for it. And not only that, I had to reinstall my software.
WHAT A PAIN to deal with the company and the product. Please spread the message around So others are saved from the trouble.

I'm sorry that you had the problem with your laptop. As for the data, that is a regular part of the repair process in most cases. I understand that you included the note, but it's also in the terms to which you agree when you ship your laptop for repairs.

  • Any suggestions for what to look for in a good production monitor?

I'm in the market for a production monitor and I'm looking at B&H's online catalogue now. Any tips on what to look for and if anyone has any recommendations or favorites? Thanks.

it would help if you could determine a budget and then shop for models within or slightly above that budget.
basically, some necessary items are switchable aspect ratio, underscan/overscan and then some sort of blue check for proper chroma and phase calibration. some monitors have a gray scale blue check which i think completely blows. it's better to have a monitor with viewable red, blue and green guns as the blue gun is more accurate for calibration than a grayscale blue check feature. also, there are other diagnostic functions that are viewable by using the red or green guns to view color bars.
some other nice features to have are horizontal/vertical delay, sdi inputs, hd-sdi inputs.
it's been mentioned in the last larry jordan newsletter than the crt monitor is going the way of the dinosaur and now sony and panasonic are marketing lcd products only. i think this is a very sad trend. as a freelance video operator/camera shader, i am of the opinion that lcd monitors are horrible; they hurt my eyes and the color rendition isn't as accurate as a crt. leitch is now manufacturing an lcd scope which is just terrible to behold. the black area of the vectorscope is a huge, amorphous blob of white light that shows no signal detail whatsoever.
i don't know what to make of larry's statement as a quick check of the sony business website reveals only bvm crt's in their product lineup, no more pvm series. i haven't looked at the panasonic product catalog yet.
although the sony pvm L5 that shane mentioned is a quality product, to my eyes, i would get an ikegami monitor but you'll find that the superior imaging of the ikegami also has a superior price point.
one last point, don't buy an used monitor from ebay, you don't know where it's been or how it's been treated. give jvc monitors a fair shake as well, not a bad product for the price, no matter what their reputation is.
    good luck.

  • How to find the BADI for the transaction CRM_IC in CRm 5.0

    Hi all,
    I have a issue:
in CRM 5.0, for the transaction CRM_IC (IC Web tcode), i need to do an enhancement for that tcode.
In crm_ic, we can enter Business partner and product id data, whenever we provide the inputs for BP and Product id and if we press enter then it displays the details like product description, UOM etc.
what i need to do is when we enter product id which is not available in Product Master, develop an enhancement which get those details from Cust / Dist chain and replace the entered value with retrieved value.
For this CRM_IC, I need to find the correct BADI.
Can any one send me out the Exact BADI for this requirement.

    spro> crm > transactions > basic settings > badi's
BAdI: Product Processing at Item Level
In this step, you can create enhancements for product processing at item level in the business transaction The following methods are available to you in the Business Add-In CRM_PRODUCT_I_BADI:

  • Badi:BADI_SD_SALES(SAP says it is for internal use): But i was implemented

    Hi Experts,
Badi:BADI_SD_SALES(SAP says it is for internal use): But i was implemented this badi. It is legal or not.
I was implemented badi: BADI_SD_SALES . But it is for SAP internal use.
For implementing this  i was changed the field u2018internalu2019  in Standard table: SXS_ATTR.
I removed the X in that field.
All these things done for  Creating Return order with reference to invoice. The client requirement is to was external number range instead of internal number rangees.
For this thing I was implement the method t u2018TRANSACTION_INITu2019. I passed the
Our external number in that vbak-vbeln..
It works correctly in development. I am not yet tested in quality and production.
This way is correct one  or not. When I removed the u2018Xu2019(Internal use) in field:
SXS_ATTR. In future it gives any other problems or it is legally correct or not.
    Helpful answers definitely rewarded.

    Pratap.M

    Hello Pratap
Labelling this BAdI as "Internal Use only" SAP can do whatever they want with this BAdI - they may even remove it !!!
Thus, your development relies on something very unreliable.
Perhaps SAP releases this BAdI for general use in the future - or not.
Therefore, I would recommend to use the enhancement framework instead if already available in your SAP system.
Final remark: If you set your implementation of this internal BAdI productive and the customer runs into trouble later on when SAP changes or deletes this BAdI with support packages YOU are liable - and not SAP.
    Regards

  • Is MultiSim a fraudulent product?

I'm thinking it is.  I'm thinking that way back when there was Electronics Workbench (EWB), a simple simulator that worked, but too simple for it to catch on any where but in schools, as students could afford it, but engineers couldn't use it.  Then, losing money, as graduating students can't use EWB for real engineering, so minimal return customers, the management of EWB decided to revamp things, via MultiSim, grab the schools' guaranteed cash flow on the coattails of EWB, but the original designers were no longer available to do it again as MultiSim.  But, going in the hole on the MultiSim planning, the product was released anyway, knowing it didn't work and was wall to wall bugs.  Now, years and years later, National Instruments has bought into the money pit that is the MultiSim design, once again seeing dollar signs through schools and the potential for persons such as myself to take MultiSim into engineering.  The problem is it still doesn't work enough to do that.  True, it's easier to use, but it doesn't work, so it can't be used.  The real testing and troubleshooting to fix it has not happened, even as of today.  The turnover rate over the years with EWB-MultiSim is high.  Few remain.  Anyone I've worked with is no longer there; I've gone through many names as I've been turning up these MultiSim bugs for all these years.  I look at it all and the "f" word looks more and more appropriate when it comes to MultiSim (and you pick the version, any version.)  They've jacked up the price fourfold on a product that has never worked enough to take it out of a school classroom.  Likewise, this is also why, as I've cruised around this forum, I've found loads of unanswered questions, students asking for help and getting little.  MultiSim works enough for unknowing students to buy what the teacher is selling, but in reality it's just smoke and mirrors full of industry-supplied parts fudged into somewhat working within the MultiSim kluge.  The bugs will keep coming up until MultiSim is actually troubleshot by knowledgeable people and fixed, but they won't remain with the company long enough.  Why?  Because MultiSim Inc can't pay enough for knowledgeable people to remain AND deal with the, no doubt, tons of bureaucracy that must develop from selling a bad product for this long.
But I started this thread to more hear your thoughts.  I'm so disgusted with MultiSim that I thought I'd just actually say what I've been thinking about the product, partially as a catalyst to hear people who know this product defend it.  However, that's not to say that if you tend to agree with my take above that you can't say something also.  As I see it, the worst that could happen is NI (the latest MultiSim owners) will kick me/us out and delete the thread.  But that won't hurt me a bit.  This forum has done me zero good, and, from the looks of it, NI doesn't even know what's said here.  (They may after my last correspondence with them though, but I doubt it.)   So, though it may be forum suicide, I don't fear such a death.  However, I do see some potential good coming in doing this.  Maybe, just maybe, I am right, that there is still a slight bit of hope for MultiSim.

    Hello Euler’s Identity:
I’d like to address some of the frustrations you present in your above post (in addition to the email responses you’ve received from our AEs and myself).  I’m very sorry to hear that you’ve had a negative experience with the software.  As always, our Applications Engineers would be very happy to assist you with any specific technical issues you might be having (I didn’t see any in the original post, and I believe the issue with the LM311 was addressed earlier today.):
I’d like to provide some of the recent history of the Electronics Workbench line of software (Multisim, Ultiboard, Multisim MCU Module).  Electronics Workbench was acquired by National Instruments (NI) in February of 2005 for two primary reasons:
1.)     Provide a World-Class Software and Hardware Solution for Teaching Electronics Education
With NI graphical system design tools such as NI Multisim (industry-standard SPICE simulation) and NI LabVIEW and prototyping environments such as NI Educational Laboratory Virtual Instrumentation Suite (NI ELVIS), it is now possible to design, prototype, and compare the characteristics of simulated circuits with real-world measurements in a single electronics education platform.  This complete integration across the design cycle gives students a deeper understanding of the circuit theory they are studying, and ultimately prepares them for more productive careers as design professionals
2.)     Enhance Professional Electronics Design with Tight Integration of Measurement and Analysis Technology
The Multisim SPICE simulation environment integrates tightly with NI measurement technology such as LabVIEW to provide a seamless transfer of simulation and real-world test data.  Professional engineers can now more easily validate designs using simulation data as a benchmark and even create more accurate simulations using real-world data as stimuli.
Additionally, as part of the acquisition, NI committed to develop Multisim and Ultiboard with the same strict focus on quality as the balance of the NI platform – it is one of the key focus areas for new releases.  Version 10, released in January 2007, was the first edition of the software released fully under NI standard software development practices (post-acquisition) and has received very positive feedback from existing users.  Of course, there is always room for improvement and innovation, and you can expect to see continued quality enhancements with each new release of Multisim and Ultiboard.
The NI Electronics Workbench Group team is passionate about making world-class capture, simulation, and layout products both for education and for professional design.  As always, we welcome your constructive feedback to continue to improve these products over time, and we will do everything we can to ensure that you have a good experience with the product.
    Best regards,
    Nicole McGarry

  • I think I found a bug/bad design - what am i missing?

    Hi Edwin and the team,
This is my first post as I'm sinking my teeth into the PM Server and Designer. We're considering to use the BPEL technology in the BIG way. And I think it's very cool as the Web Services-based EAI delivers a cost-effective and not proprietary solution!
Let me describe to you what I believe is a bug or a dubious design. In the Designer, File>New>Oracle BPEL Project creates a new project with a file bpel.xml. For example, look at your CreditFlow sample. In that file there is <partnerLinkBinding name="..." <property name=wsdlLocation"> http://<host name of the WSDL host server>/....
when the partner WSDL is hosted on the localhost that <host name> in the line above is the name of my machine instead of 'localhost'. Then, <project name>.bpel validation crashes when you're in the off-line (disconnected) mode or connected via VPN gateway (since obviously you think you don't need a proxy because everything is local). But, even if it works inside the LAN I think it's a bad design; since it's generated automatically by Designer the developer doesn't have a clue what's wrog when he/she needs to debug your code. The Designer should stick there 'localhost' instead of the the name of my computer on the network.
Here how I spotted it. I generated you CreditFlow sample in the Quick Start Tutorial. I went by the book, Compiled the CreditFlow.bpel and it crashed! The book did not say it was supposed to crash. The book said everything should be honky dory. The Validator printed a message: "connection timeout...." Since I'm new to the BPEL it took me awhile to figure out and once I stick 'localhost' in the right place in bpel.xml everything worked. Again, I was running everything on localhost.
If I helped you guys - great or what am I missing here?
The problem is that if my company decides to convert the Biz Analysts into BPEL modelers how could a BA figure out the solution to the problem like this? He/She would just give up and tell the Technologists (us) that this is a bad product.
    Thanks,
    Greg
P.S. What happened to Doron Sherman (CTO) and the old Collaxa folks? He is not listed in the ORCL directory. For those who don't know BPEL Server and Designer were developed by Collaxa and ORCL bought that company last year.

    Hi Gregory,
I think that the problem you are reporting is a proxy configuration error. There are 2 places where you need to configure the proxy: in the obsetenv.bat and in the eclipse>windows>preferences>BPEL Designer.
If the server is up and the proxy configuration is correct, you should not receive a timeout error.
Let me try to explain why it is not possible/desirable to have localhost: the url is generated by the server when it generates a WSIL list of the processes deployed on the server. The server does not know if the client requesting this list is local or remote, this is why he uses the real host name (otherwise remote client would not be able to connect to the service).
One additional note: the tool is not currently targeted at business analyst (unless they have some development background). BPEL entails some inherent complexity: parallel processing, async interactions, exception management, WSDL, XML Schema, transformation. So although we are working hard on continuously simplifying the implementation and increasing the productivity, we are still targeting application developers.
    I hope this helps.

  • Why would apple sell me a returned iPad as a brand new product?

I have been a preacher of the Apple gospel since I spent $4000 on my first Mac 2si and started my career in 1991. I have bought almost every version of Mac and I am running 5 in my office. I have lost $1000s in bad tech and bad products over the years, but I have stayed loyal. Now I find I bought a repackaged product as new. You cannot believe my letdown. To me it's like finding out the pope is a criminal. Apple has deceived myself and others. Best Buy's employee said I was not the first to suggest I bought a returned product repackaged. Apple has become another greedy capitalistic corp who cares nothing of us and only of the money! Or we're they always like this. I have no god anymore. Retribution is entitled!

Here's the model numbers of the various new iPad 2s.
Look on the back of yours to see what model you have.

    iPad2(Wi-Fi/GSM/A-GPS)  A1396 (Verizon)
    iPad2(Wi-Fi/CDMA/A-GPS)  A1397 (AT&T)
