Bi content objects collection for transport

Hi Experts,
may i know how can i colloect the technical contnet objects for transport?
basically i already transport a  technical content content request to quality, after transporting i got the logs as some of the technical content objects have not been activated in quality, but i thougt i can directly activate the content objects by using the program RSDG_IOBJ_ACTIVATE and remaing programs for cubes, aggregates, data sources and all in quality sytem, but client dont want the mannuall activation in qulaity system, they are askig again i have  to transport the active(which are the objects  not in active version in quality) version from EST to ESQ and then re-import my main transport.
so now again i have to activate the objects in develpment, may i know if i activate the program RSDG_IOBJ_ACTIVATE in se38 and transport the request to quality is it ok (here have to create a new request for this?) here in asingle request can i activate all objects which are not activated (i have to go for activation to info objects, cubes, data sources, update rules, transfer structures) is there any sequence steps to collect this object, please provide me
Many Many thanks
Mrudula

Hi,
Activate all the necessary objects and collect them in a single request and check for any inconsistencies or inactive objects in the requests before transporting it to the QA or PRD in SE03.

  • Objects required for transport operations

    Hello,
I am preparing to upgrade and migrate databases from 10g on AIX to 12c on OEL6. I found a great doc that details the use of Transportable Tablespaces for metadata movement and RMAN for the migration of the datafiles from big endian to little endian.  The doc is 371556.1. The only thing that is unclear to me in that doc is bullet 2 in the Goal section.  It states:
2.- Import objects required for transport operations from the source database into the destination database.
I'm not quite sure to which objects this is referring.  It sounds like there are objects that are dependencies for transport operations, but again, not sure what those objects might be or what the operations are (e.g. using exp or data pump in tablespace mode?)
Or perhaps it's referring to objects that aren't typically transportable/exported in tablespace mode, such as synonyms?
With the exception of that one bullet point, the doc makes perfect sense.  If anyone has any clarification on this, it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Jon

It looks like the link in my original post isn't working.  The document is on MOS and is titled "How to Migrate to different Endian Platform Using Transportable Tablespaces With RMAN (Doc ID 371556.1)"

  • Issue in BI Objects collection into Transport Request

    Hi Experts
I am experincing a Issue in collecting Infocube and related objects into a transport requests using transport connection.
My Scenario is as explained below
    1.Migrated 3.x Dataflow into BI 7.0 Dataflow
2.Dataflow consists Infocube -->DSO (two separate DSO) --> Infosource (only 1) --> Datasource (from 2 different Source systems)
I have manually captured all my objects into a transport requests. i.e while activation.
The issue is when I try to use transport connection on this infocube with "Dataflow before" & Automatic collection options.
I am getting the below mentioned error.
Object '4C3C4WGBCRK9UWKNDGGYNKDNA' (ROUT) of type 'Routine' is not available in version 'A'
    Message no. RSO252
    Diagnosis
You wanted to generate an object with the name '4C3C4WGBCRK9UWKNDGGYNKDNA' (in transport request ROUT) of type 'Routine' (TLOGO). This is, however, not available in the BW Repository database. It does not exist in the requested version A. If the version is 'D' then it is possible that an error arose during the delivery or installation. If the version is 'A' then the Object was either not created or not activated.
    System Response
The object was not taken into account in the next stage of processing.
I am sure that all my objects are collected into transport requests & I checked the object entry of all the dataflow objects..
Appreciate your valuable inputs on this.
    Thank you in advance
    PKC

In that case, pls ignore my prevoius post...
The issue is when I try to use transport connection on this infocube with "Dataflow before" & Automatic collection options.
With this option, system should have collected the related routines. Did u expand routine node, and check (ON) the check box for that routine ???
(Once all objects got collected,  now from the right most window, expand each node (application, infoarea, routines etc) and put checkbox 'ON' (checked) to ONLY the objects (routine 4C3C4WGBCRK9UWKNDGGYNKDNA' ) u want to transport. Once u r done with that, click on Transport (truck Icon) and enter package name, if system prompts.)

  • How to get objects necessary for transporting Business Content?

    Hi Experts,
    Small ques for u:
I have installed 0FIAA_C11, 0FIAA_C12, 0FIAA_C13 for Asset Accounting in Dev system. Already the previous content 0FIAA_C04 was installed and transported to Quality system.
Now I want to transport new content (0FIAA_C11, 0FIAA_C12, 0FIAA_C13) to Quality. But I guess since already some infoobjects were transported to quality, transport connection wud nt show me all necesary objects.
<b>So how to get a list of all objects necessary</b> so that my req does nt fail while moving to production from quality.(I think req might not fail while goin from Dev ->quality).
    Thanks in advance!!
    Sorabh

    Hi Srini,
I have already applied "Before setting". But the problem is I dont want to transport objects which are not relevant to me, but only those which are necessary for content described in previous mail.
If we check the link provide by you " For activating an InfoSource, InfoObjects may also be necessary which are not contained in the InfoCube and have therefore not yet been collected. However, for these additional objects, the objects that come before them in the data flow are not collected.
"  I am worried by about these. Some objects will be missing and some are in addition which are not all required, and we shud nt transport them. How to be sure tht transport will not fail and it is consistent as well?
    Thanks for replying!!

  • Portal Content Objects - Dropdown for "ID Prefix".

    Hello experts,
It's been a long time since I took TEP10 Academy, but I still remember when doing the exercises at SAP's Trainning Facilities that the ID Prefixes of all PCD Objects were not in an input field as the standard SAP Portal delivery does. Instead it was a drop down list that showed predefined values -com.sap-, so instead of writing the ID Prefix each time, you just select it from the list.
I'm currently doing lots of portal content in my current project and I remebered that functionality that would be particularly useful by now, I want to minimize typos when creating all PCD objects, so here I am asking if anyone know how to accomplish that.
    By that I mean:
-Define / set up several ID Prefixes for PCD Objects.
-Assign those ID Prefixes via a drop down list (combobox).
Or whateaver means via configuration (no developments) to accomplish the previously described objectives.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Business Content objects transport request error

    Hi gurus
We have installed the Business content for CRM in development. Now we have moved the business content objects to Quality, but the issue was all the objects went and they are in the unassigned node. First time the infoarea for the respecitve objects were not selected. In development already the info areas were there, so i didnt select the infoareas for quality. But in quality nothing is existing. So my question is if i select the objects again with thier respective info areas, will i get the objects again aligned in proper order in quality. As already objects are there in unassigned nodes in quality will effect the next transport.
    please help me regards
    vijaykumar

    Hi,
<i>So if i collect the objects again for transport with the respective infoarea, will i get the objects from unassigned nodes to the respctive info areas.</i>
    It will definately works.
    By the by:
And also collect respetive Info object Catelogs also.So that Infoobject sits under proper Info area.Otherwise you will get same problem with IO(what you got with Cubes).

  • Sequence of collecting objects for transport in BI

I am making a display attribute to navigational attribute, kindly let me know the sequence of collecting objects for transport request.
i need to check in infocube as well in multi provider.
    please let me know
    thanks,
    Venkat

    Hi,
Make sure the Infoobjects(in which you are changing it from Display attirube to Nav attribute) and collect the other things in a seperate request (Infoproviders, the deativated transformations and the DTP followed by Queries). Release the request to QA/Prd in a sequence(Infoobject request first and the iinfoprovider request as followed by the successful movement of the first one.
The STMS automatically take cares the sequence of trasnporting the objects one by one to the destination system.

  • Collection of Objects for Transporting to Test Box

    Hi Experts,
I am ready to transport from BW Dev system to Testing system.Actually some of the Objects activated before for diffrent applications like FI-CO,SD and CRM and exported to testing system. Now My turn to export some of the objects to test box.
I am little bit in confusion. How do I collect the objects which I activted with my own request.I am sure I don't need to transport the Objects which already in Test box though my functional application required the same objects. If So how can I find which Objects are in Test box already or not.Is there any particular method to find which objects are not transported from Development to Testing. Please advise me.I need to finish my Transports by the tomorrow.I am running with urgency.
    Thanks,
    Suryam.

    Hi,
Unfortunatelly for you, the best way is to collect through the transport collector in RSA1 all the objects that are needed for your solution.
Normally if you did not change anything on objects that are already transported, the system will not collect them.
But I would say that there is no added value to make a difference between stuff that were already transported and the other objects as in Dev you are aroking with them correctly....
    Hope it helps

  • No object can select when collecting objects for transport

    Hi.Experts:
When I use RSA1 and want to collect objects for transport,I found that no objects can be found for some object type, such as ISTD/TRFN etc, any body who know this situation?
    Best Regards
    Martin Xie

    Hi Martin,
best way to collect objects into transport request is throught RSA1 -> Transport connection.
in Transport connection, you have different options to collect objects into transport request.
    In data flow before...
here you can see objects that are already have transport request, package...

  • Approvals for transporting XI objects

  • How to collect and transport a hierrachy linked to an object ?

    Hi guru,
I am working in BI 7.0  and  linked a Hierarchy to oan object.
When I transported the object to production, the hierarchy is missing in production.
How to collect and transport this hierachy  ?
In case of a user-defined hierarchy, is it possible to transport it or  have I to re-create in prod ?
    Thanks for your support

    hi ,
Yes we can create hierarchy in production .
But if you have some kind of infrastructure build for data laod , that needs to be separately migrated.
The Info-object with the Hierarchy check in maintaineance window of info-object should be migrated to production  in order to naually maintain the hierarchy in Production
    Thanks

  • How to Transport the Business content objects using Transport connections

    Hi BI Guru's,
I have installed the BW statistics cubes in BW Devlopment and i want to Transport the same things to Quality using Transprot connection. Please send steps and tips for Transporting the BW statistics collected objects.

    Hi ,
While installing have you given any package and created request for this activation? If yes go to SE 09 and release your task and then request. And receive this in STMS in BWQ.
If you do not have created request and saved it in $tmp while activation then you have to go to RSA1 > transport connections> select your cube > grouping> only necessary objects> collect automatically> and press transport button this will give you request no > and then release this request> then go to BWQ> stms> select source system> select your request> and press import request button(white truck sign)> do necessary settings > and say OK. Once your request status is green then its successfully received in BWQ.
    Hope this helps.

  • Transport of PCD and Content objects through JDI.

    Hi all,
Pls share the views about the trasport procedure for PCD and Content objects.
Is it possible to transport PCD and Content objects through JDI?
If it is possible, could you pls share how to configure the JDI setup?
    Thanks in advance,
    Kishore.

    Hi Kishroe,
First, there is no supported, out of the box way to handle content objects in the JDI (now NWDI- NetWeaver Development Infrastructure) With that said, since it is a repository you could export your content package. Make it a zip file or something like that and add it to the repository.
Again, I believe this is theoretically possible. I'm sure some of the other SDN members can provide an automated approach to do this.
    Good luck,
    John
