BI Mobile through SMP

Hi folks,
I am trying to connect the BI Mobile app through SMP (aka sup 2.3sp4). but get the following error "proxy connection http://SUP:8000/MobileBIService..." not found. I will refer to SMP as SUP just to avoid confusion with SAP Mobile in BI.
I know BI is ok because if I connect direct to BI using connection type sap businessobjects bi platform ... I can see the sample reports.
I have followed the documentation on setting up SMP and believe it is done correctly.
A few connections ...
1) connection type SMP BOE Connection is for SMP: aka SUP .. correct?
2) if that connection type is correct, what goes in the proxy name fields... I have tried various flavours like http://<SUP Host>:8000/MobileBIService etc
I know the MobileBIService is working correct as I can go direct to Bi server with GetVersion and get details back.
Also in SUP I can see the connection trying but is labelled as offline.

Can you please give me some more details are you doing a BOE-Legacy connection with 2.3 SP04 or is it a BOE-REST Connection??
Few other quick Questions(below should help if its BOE Legacy):
1. Is the SUP.properties file updated?
2. Is the tomcat server port opened to make communications to via port 5001?
3. What kind of Authentication are you using? WinAD or Enterprise AD? Ensure the autorhizations are maintained in CMS for the users.
4. During the Application Creation, did you use REST API? if not please try this it should work.

5. Is there any error which you get on the BI App while testing?
The last version of the admin guide which was released can be found in the following link. However The Step 4 is not described in the document. Please see if this solves the issue.

What you can do is send a specially formatted e-mail (specific recipient/subject) to a mail server, where this mail server has special code/plug-ins/processes that can reformat the e-mail as a SMS and then forward it to a SMS gateway server that can pass it to the cellular provider's network for processing and delivery.
Do you have such a mail server? Does it interface with a SMS Gateway (or similar) server?

You can't. iPhone does not have this feature.
Some iOS apps will allow you to connect to other iOS devices for peer-to-peer games, or sending photos, but not to other makes of phone.

You need a service provider to get the sms to the telecom companies. If you have a deal with a telco they will tell you how to send an sms via them.
If you are not sending too many sms messages, you can connect your smartphone to your PC and use the phone's sms service. This can be costly if you want to send many messages. There is standard software for that, e.g.

Though the problem is not very clear.. it seems you are not getting the GPS Fix and hence unable to see your location ..With only Integrated GPS Positioning method enabled, you must go to an area open to sky.. launch the application and wait may be in excess of 30 minutes to get your location...

You'll need to find some sort of online SMS gateway that will inject a SMS message into the mobile phone network for you. I have no experience of these. The mobile phone network is not the internet: you can't access it directly.
Such a service may or may not be free, and may only support specific telecom networks.
Try searching for "web service to send sms" using your favourite search engine. When I tried this it came up with several companies offering this service, using a "web service" API (i.e. XML over HTTP).
You can certainly access web services using Java; there are APIs designed for this purpose. Some are listsed at

NetWeaver Mobile has been around for a long time and targets old Windows Mobile clients (6.0 / 5.0 / 2003 SE) & Windows Desktop OS's (Xp / Vista / 7 / 8)
I don't think NetWeaver Mobile is being actively developed by SAP anymore.

Problem connecting OData Service through SMP APP in Android App

Hi,
I'd like to develope an Android sample app with SMP and OData. Therefore I use the SMP Developer Version in the HANA Cloud and the Netweaver Service Gateway Demo System as OData Endpoint. I configured the app in the SMP as described in the openSAP Course "Introduction to Mobile Solution Development".
I successfully managed to integrate the MAFLogon component from the SMP SDK 3.0. The registration in the app to the SMP works fine. Then I tried to download the service document as described in the SMP SDK 3.0 Help Documentation (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_smp303sdk/helpdata/en/7c/09250170061014bb05d2c9cd16418c/content.htm?frameset=/en/7c/09404b70061014b89ba1222a327094/frameset.htm&current_toc=/en/7c/01cda6700610149b10c2f2a86d335b/plain.htm&node_id=3583&show_children=true#jump3577).
But when I'm trying to download the service document, I get a 403 response and in the SMP the log says "Application connection id is not provided". So I added the APPCID in Requestheaders. Then the download works and in the onsuccess method of the INetListener I'll get a 200 response. But in the SMP Logs I get a 401 response which says that I should supply the Authorization Headers. So I added them in the next try and I get a 500 response.
So I don't know what to. Can anybody provide me some advice?

Can you download the app from this tutorial and try, SMP 3 - Android Native App Development
The tutorial is based on the SMP 3 on premise version not on the SMP HANA cloud, but still it works. Only change you have to do is replacing the code clientConnection.setConnectionProfile(true, "66.175.100.29", "8080", null, null); with clientConnection.setConnectionProfile("https://smpxxxtrial.hanatrial.ondemand.com");
And it is not using MAFLogon component. You can use it if needed.

Authentication through SMP to Gateway

I am trying to set up SMP to allow me to register with credentials which will then be used to access my back-end Gateway server.
I have configured the authorization profile to accept these registration details.
When I un-tick the box "Allow anonymous access", and remove the anonymous credentials, the Kapsel app breaks upon registration, and returns the message "check your connection data".
But when I tick the box "allow anonymous access" and enter the exact same credentials, it all works fine.
How do I set up SMP to accept credentials and then use these same ones to speak to my Gateway server? I need users to be able to uniquely identified in Gateway, so anonymous access will not be allowed.
i.e. I want to login to SMP as LSTANGER with a password (for example) and then I want SMP to make all connections to Gateway using this username and password, so that within Gateway I can uniquely identify a user, and restrict their data access accordingly.

Use HTTP/HTTPS authentication and provide the gateway end point URL for the app created in cockpit. No need to check the option "allow anonymous connections" and try.

If you want to access your friend's files, he should enable File Sharing on his machine and you should choose Finder > Go > Connect to Server... His machine should show up in the Connect to Server dialog box. This should work with ethernet; AFAIK USB will not work.
From Mac Help:
"You can use an Ethernet cable to connect two Macintosh computers and share files or play network games.
1. Connect an Ethernet cable from the Ethernet port of one computer to the Ethernet port on the other.
2. Open Sharing preferences on both computers and turn on Personal File Sharing. Note the Computer Name for the computers.
3. On one of the computers, choose Go > Connect To Server and then click Browse.
4. Double-click the other computer in the window and enter your password, if necessary.
If you manually configured the TCP/IP settings for the built-in Ethernet configuration on the computer you are connecting to, you may need to enter that computer's TCP/IP address in the Connect To Server dialog.
To see or set the TCP/IP address, open Network preferences and choose your Ethernet port configuration from the Show pop-up menu (named Built-in Ethernet unless you gave it another name)."

How do I download images from Lightroom Mobile through the web interface?

I am new to Lightroom Mobile. I would like to access the collections I've synced to the cloud and download individual images from my collections via the web interface. I see there is an option to copy the image via the iPad app but I don't see a copy image option via the web interface. I realize you can share entire collections of photos in the web interface but I would like to be able to simply download select photos via the Lightroom mobile web application. When I right click on the image there is no "save as..." option even - only an option to download the entire webpage.

I was looking to do the same thing and spoke to an Adobe online chat staffer. It was a very confusing conversation. I think I eventually got him to understand what I wanted to do, and he seemed to think the answer was "not possible". Not very impressed with the technical support though.
