BI Presentation - Answers

Hi,
I'm trying to do a filter in BI Answers. I'm using MS SQL database.
I 'd like to filter out rows which contains in the column value '' (nothing).
When I'm preparing query in WINSQL i just put where COLUMN not like '', but what should i put in answers?

The business model uses generic expressions (and not source specific), you can use 'IS NOT NULL' is Answers to filter rows with an empty column out of your result.

Trouble with Quiz settings/LMS status

so here iit is...
I have NEXT buttons on each slide. The buttons are the only
trackable element.
The user must click every slide.
But I have allowed for some flexability. Say there are 8
slides. I set the Pass/Fail options to

Score instead of Precent
Report Complete/Incomplete

so. If a user runs through the entire lesson - the status is
showing as complete.
The wierd thing is I am getting an Completed 88% 00:01:08
but it should be 100%. I clicked on every slide and there are
no other elements to track.
so why am I getting 88%?
I would really LOVE any help on this... its driving me nuts

Report page also displays, number of questions present,
answered and correct. Enable those fields on result page and check
the values. This may give you some hints.

Unresolved column when using presentation variable in Answers filter

Hi all,
I'm using a dashboard prompt that sets a presentation variable - pres_year. I'm using the presentation variable in a request's filter.
In the 'Criteria' tab, in the filter for the request, I set a year column (YEAR) to the presentation variable via Variable Expr and enter the presentation variable name only. End up with:
YEAR is equal to / is in @{pres_year}
When using the dashboard, the prompt and request all work fine. The problem is when I'm in the request in Answers and I click on 'Display Results' button. I get the following error:
'NQSError: 27005 unresolved column pres_year'

I got same error, if i'm using SQL Expression, instead of variable expression in filter section.
make sure that you followed this:
filter on year > Add > Variable > Presentation. Then, give the presentation variable name (which you defined in dashboard prompt) in Variable Expr field , click OK
getting same error when using:
Filter on year column > Add > SQL Expression > presentation variable. This is not right place to give presentation variable.
and, error i got:
*State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 27005]* Unresolved column: "var_Year". (HY000)
so, make sure that you are suing the right one..

Got error(JS alert message) that "Given key was not present in the dictonary". After clearing history error gone. Not getting answer?

I have asp dotnet website and when I am log in into it then I got an js alert message i.e.
"Given key was not present in the dictonary". When I am going to clear clear browser history then it working fine without error. We know it thats why we are clearing history but client don't know and they dont want to clear history. So Is there solution
of this problem. please suggest me.

I'm new to keynotes and I have a lot of powerpoint presentations I'm trying to salvage. I can't get the slides to change on a click plus I can't find the way to change the "transition" time changes within each slide. Where can I find the answer

I'm new to keynotes and I'm trying to salvage several powerpoint presentations. I can't control my slide presentations by clicking to change slides and/or for transitions within the slides. I'm sure there's an answer but I can't find it. Can someone please give me directions.

Show the Inspector; view > show inspector
to run a presentation using manual control:
Inspector > Document: set Presentation to Normal
many transitions set in PowerPoint are not available in Keynote; to set the transition options:
Inspector > Slide > Transition
select the effect you want and either choose auto or manual control

How can I show the correct answers in a quiz on Adobe Presenter 10?

I'm newer on Adobe Presenter.
I've finished all questions on the quiz, but I like to show the correct answer after the user select a wrong answer and submit it.
I've tried many thing and the correct answer isn't displayed.

The correct answers are displayed after the quiz is completed and the user Reviews the quiz. If you want the correct answer to be revealed to the user in the quiz, then you will need to customize the feedback messages to state the correct answer. They are just text boxes on the slides, so you should be able to easily add text to them.

I am having a problem with OBIEE presentation services. I have to connection pools on the repository since I am use tables in different table spaces.
I have check the “Require fully qualified table names” option.
When I click view data or update row count on the Admin tool, its works fine however I get an error when I choose a field from one f the tables in OBIEE Presentation services “Answers”

Presentation services: BI Answers

Please can someone point me in the right direction. I am have created a Presentation layer using the Administration tool. Now I want to Add a subject area for my new layer in the Presentation services tool. I can't find anything explaining this. I have just completed the BISE1DB tutorial and I am very new to this environment. Any advice or help will be highly appreciated.

Hi Dino,
the presentation catalogs in the rpd are displayed as subject areas in Answers.
If you follow the steps to load your rpd in the NQSconfig.ini file and then start your presentation services, go to Answers you should see the subject area.

This morning I sent them a new .ibook file completely, minus videos, and yet when the client opened the book, the answers to end of chapter Review app questions, yellow highlights, and even Notes taken in ANOTHER .ibook file, a previous version are presenting in the latest edition.
Is there a way to clear this kind of data out on an iPad so that if Class 1 answers the questions and the iPads are given to Class 2, the anwers already provided don't present themselves?
Is the answer in the Reset All Settings or Erase All Content and Settings features under General > Reset or is this going to wipe out more than what is bargained for?

Presenter short answer quiz problems with answer

Hi everyone,
it's my first time using adobe presenter. I started to make a short answer quiz and put a word i.e. "car" in the answer field. As I read the manual the question will be correct, if the user is typing the word as answer. After testing the quiz I wonder because the will be only a right answer if the word car will be type alone. When typing a sentence i.e. I have a car this means a wrong answer for the program.
Is there a way to tell the quiz just look out for the right word or means short answer just exactly the word in the answer cell? If I read the manual correct a complete sentence with the word must be a right answer. What's wrong?

To take Leo's and Jorma's comments one step further, any time a client (or even one of our Instructional Designers) requests that kind of question type, one of the first things we do immediately is to set the question to ONE ATTEMPT and then set both the correct and incorrect feedback responses with the same identical content...so regardless of whether you got it right or wrong, the same feedback will display.
So what this means is that the resulting feedback might say something like: "Did your answer include the following?....." and then include the correct information.
I know that seems counter-intuitive, but one of the most difficult aspects of using the Short Answer question type is in terms of how a learner might respond. It can be a very difficult animal to control...and although you could use the retry feedback prompt to help the learner with hints for a correct response, we've found that it's just too cumbersome to worry about.
Additionally, any time we use Short Answer question types, we usually set it to 0 points and totally disable the the Report Answers option, so even as the learner answers this type of question, no reporting whatsoever is triggered back on the LMS, for the reasons that Leo and Jorma outlined above.

Yes the Mac can read that drive but you would need to Copy the data off of it to the Mac as apposed to Move, which implies Deleting them from the drive as they were transferred from the external to the Mac. Since the Mac can Not Write to NTFS drives it can't Delete anything as that is really a Write operation, IE Making changes to the NTFS formatted drive.
Once you have that Data on Both your New Mac and you Older Windows PC you can format that drive to work on both system.
If you want to and plan on doing that post back and I'll explane how, it is simple but should be done on a Windows PC.
If you only plan on using it on the Mac from now on that is fairly simple also and is done on the Mac, Once you have the files from it stored on the Mac.
Yes you could burn those photos to DVD but that is just a waste of DVDs, you don't need to.

Answer Request and Presentation Catalog

Hi,
Is it possible to get the list of answer requests associated with a specific presentation catalog. There are lots of request created in the shared folder (based on different presentation catalog) for dashboards and common queries.
If it is possible to get the list of requests associated with a specific presentation catalog, it will be helpful to understand the capability of the data mart (the kind of information that we can get from a presentation catalog).

Yes. Using Catalog Manager tool.
Open Catalog->Tools->Create Catalog Report
Select required columns and save it as .csv file

Empty Presentation Catalog's Model in Answers

I have just installed Windows Server 2003 and installed OBIEE after.
I can open the paint.rpd file using the Administration tool.
I can see the model in the presentation layer.
However I cannot see the model in the presentation catalog in Answers.

Thank you so much for your answer.
But I just did solve the problem. It turned out that Internet Explorer in Windows Server 2003 has something called enhanced security which caused the problem.
I figured that out after trying Firefox and the problem was gone.
So the answer is to use Firefox or remove the Internet Explorer Enhanced Security from Windows components
