How to show an error Page in Weblogic when the server is down
Hi ,
I heard that every container has the facility to show an error page when the server is down and (when the request has arrived at that time ).
Please tell me how to configure this in BEA weblogic ??
Thanks .Hi,
From my understanding weblogic dose not provide the thing which you are asking for, reason is given below.
- An application is deployed only on managed server one (MS-1)
- Now if the request comes to the server (MS-1) when it was running and then for some reason MS-1 goes down then weblogic server would be able to send any response back to the client as its down.
- Hence nothing can be done as the request object is been lost when the server goes down or even cant redirect to an error page as for doing that too the server has to be up and running.
However there are other way round which can help you overcome this issue as shown below
- Use Clusters with few managed servers in it which gives you high availability and load-balancing.
- Use any web servers like Apache in front of weblogic servers.
Using the above things you can also use customized HTTP Error Responses with error-page element in web.xml and create your own error pages which can be re-directed for the web server side also. For more information go through the below links

.Hi Krishan,
If you want to check if local cache service is running, you can do something like this:
NamedCache cache = CacheFactory.getCache(sCacheName);
boolean isRunning = cache.getCacheService().isRunning();If you want to check if any storage enabled nodes (cache servers) are available in the cluster:
NamedCache cache = CacheFactory.getCache(sCacheName);
DistributedCacheService service = (DistributedCacheService) cache.getCacheService();
Set storageEnabledMembers = service.getStorageEnabledMembers();
if(storageEnabledMembers.isEmpty())
// no cache servers available ...

Activation server shut down for Creative Suite 2, Acrobat 7, and Macromedia products
Effective December 13, Adobe disabled the activation server for CS2 products and Acrobat 7 because of a technical glitch. These products were released over 7 years ago and do not run on many modern operating systems. But to ensure that any customers activating those old versions can continue to use their software, we issued a serial number directly to those customers. While this might be interpreted as Adobe giving away software for free, we did it to help our customers.
If your software is affected by the activation server shut down then you will receive an error that the Activation server is unavailable. The specific affected products are as follows:
Acrobat 7.0 - Windows
After Effects 7.0
Audition 3.0
Captivate 1.0
Contribute 2.0
Contribute 3.0
Creative Suite 2.0
Director MX 2004
Dreamweaver MX 2004
Fireworks MX 2004
Flash Paper 2.0
Freehand MX
GoLive CS2
GoLive 9.0
Illustrator CS2
InCopy CS2
InDesign CS2
Macromedia Studo MX 2004
Photoshop CS
Photoshop CS2
Photoshop Elements 4.0
Photoshop Elements 5.0
Premiere Pro 7.0
Production Studio Premium
The activation server being shut down will not affect currently installed and activated Adobe software. You will only face this difficulty if you need to reactivate the software.
To remedy this difficulty we have made available a version of these software titles that does not require activation for Users who have previously purchase the affected software. For additional details and specific links to the software please see:
Error: Activation Server Unavailable | CS2 products, Acrobat 7 - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/creative-suite-2-activation-end-life.html
Error: Activation Server Unavailable | Macromedia branded products - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/macromedia-legacy-activation-error.html
If the software title you have purchased is affected by the activation server being shut down, but is not available for download in the previously referenced pages, then please contact our support team at http://www.adobe.com/support/chat/ivrchat.html. Please be aware our support team will not be able to provide assistance for downloading or installing the Creative Suite 2 software.
System requirements
Creative Suite 2 software was only designed to run in the following operating environments:
Mac OS X v.10.2.8–v.10.3.8. PowerPC® G4 or G5 processor
Microsoft® Windows® 2000/Windows XP. Intel® Pentium® III or 4 processor
Extraction instructions
If you are receiving a message to insert disc two please see the following extraction instructions:
In the English version of the software the file CreativeSuiteCS2Disc2 extracts to C:\Creative Suite\Adobe Creative Suite 2.0\. CreativeSuiteCS2Disc1 and CreativeSuiteCS2Disc3 both extract to C:\Creative Suite CS2\Adobe Creative Suite 2.0\.
Please copy the contents of the C:\Creative Suite\Adobe Creative Suite 2.0\ folder to the C:\Creative Suite CS2\Adobe Creative Suite 2.0\ folder and you will no longer be prompted to insert disc two.
Additional information
Some Users have reported success getting Creative Suite 2 to install under Windows 7 64-bit. Please see http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_programs/windows-7-is-n ot-compatible-with-adobe-photoshop/6f1b4955-7166-4b8f-ad9b-5d19150f803f for more information.
Still facing installation difficulties?
If you are experiencing an installation issue with the software currently available I would recommend creating a new thread in the Downloading, Installing, and Setting up forum - http://forums.adobe.com/community/download_install_setup. If you can please make sure to include the following:
• What software are you trying to install?
• Which operating system are you using?
• Was the software previously installed prior to downloading the non-activating version currently available?
• What specific error messages are you receiving when trying to install?
Please also see the original discussion on this topic at http://forums.adobe.com/message/4919014#4919014.Hello Jeff.
EN version is not so eaqual in all with CZ version, I have PREMIUM one, not Standard.
So I download these EN versions and Acrobat 7Pro separately.
It look that it works, I have it installed on my presentation laptop. I ussualy work on PC and laptop is for bussines trips mostly.
When I was working on my PC I found in menu one interesting option. I have installed CS2 in 2010 so it works OK, still in CZ. What I found in menu is called "Licence Transfer".
I didnt try it because I dont want to loose my activation on PC, but could you please say to me what does this option means?
Is it possible to copy licence on flash disk and use it on laptop, but it still be in PC also? Or it is only for deactivation, so you will loose it, and after this you can do new activation (which is impossible by server shut down)?
And one question to the end, if I buy some later version like CS4 or CS5 (from some graphic studio which have one licence to sell-transfer) so do Adobe plan to shut down server too, for CS4, CS5 or after this non user/customer friendly solution (I mean for CS2) will Adobe do some application which we can install on our local PC and this app will say to CSxx "Your licence is OK, just continue in work" ?? --- this would be much better, I think if Adobe do this so it will be the same like no-activation versions in EN only but without so many complains and impacts on your customers.
Thank you for reply me -

FTP Adapter File Polling does not raise error when FTP server is down
Hi All,
Thanks in advance.
I am polling for new files in a FTP Server. However, if the server is down there is no way for me to catch the fault to notify someone. I am using fault-policies but that never gets triggered when polling an unavailable FTP Server.
One option is to have a completely separate scheduled process (SOA or not) that tries to connect to the servers but I am trying not to go that route just to keep things manageable and within the realm of the process.
I am sure that I am not the only one polling for new files in a FTP Server, so I thought to pick your brain to tackle this scenario.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.I was contacted by our DBA team for an exception received while writing a file to a FTP location.
Then i looked at the exception message and asked them to check the whether they are able to contact the ftp server using command prompt then they said the user password got expired.
They reset the password and its working now.
Am i missing something here :(
Exception:
WSIF JCA Execute of operation 'Put' failed due to: Error sending file to FTP Server.
Unable to send file to server.

Trigger aler or send a mail if target ftp server is down
Hi,
I am sending file from source to target using XI.
Here my target is FTP. If the FTP server is down on the target side while placing the file we need to trigger an alert or send an email to the sender.
Thanks & Regards
Sowmya.Once the adapter engine tries for the standard retry time and interval, it will change the message status to System Error.
Create Alert Rule for the Adapter Engine errorrs. SelectAdapter Engine and make the adapter type as All. Rest is same
The specified item was not found.

How can we handle in flex application if the server is down?
how can we handle in flex application if the server is down?
You and me both.
As ambiguous as the original question was, I think he was just asking how to handle a server exception and I would suggest generally just using a Alert.show("your specific message (eg. The server is currently unavailable)") in the place where you handle the fault return from your service or http call. I'm sure there are more complicated messaging frameworks or approaches, but that seems to be enough for my apps. -

SOA Server getting down frequently
Hi All,
Following are the versions:
WebLogic Version : 10.3.3.0
SOA : 11.1.1.3.0
We are facing frequent server breakdown issues.
But we could not find the root cause for it.
Does anyone faced this scenario ?
What could be the possible reasons regarding this server down issue ??
In the error logs too we could not find any valuable information .
Please add your suggestions.
Regards
SridharIs this when u run certain process or its happening commonly when no process is running.
when its failing doea it give any datasource errors.
Which server shuts down admin or soa server, if its shuts down is it throwing overloaded first and then shut down. -
Functionalities Available if Server Goes Down?
Hello! As a structural question...... I have a web server that holds my web application (includes My Sites), and an application server with CA and all of the other services.
Suppose the web server goes down. Does that mean my users no longer have access to the site, their profile, and their document libraries?
Conversely, if the application server goes down, will my users still have access to the site, but none of the services will work? (IE. Will the site still communicate with the databases to pull documents information from their documents library; I just can't
use search, etc.)?
Thank you!Suppose the web server goes down. Does that mean my users no longer have access to the site, their profile, and their document libraries?
Correct. If the server hosting the Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Web Application Service goes down then you will lose all access to the sites.
Conversely, if the application server goes down, will my users still have access to the site, but none of the services will work? (IE. Will the site still communicate with the databases to pull documents information from their documents library;
I just can't use search, etc.)?
Thank you!
Again correct.
Depending on what exactly you've put on the App tier and on the WFE tier you may still have working sites. If there's a component that is needed to render a page such as the MMS or Excel Services that runs on the App tier then that page will throw an error
but the general document library pages and so on will probably still work for the most part. -
Why Portal server goes down?
Hi All,
We are currently running on EP7, SP9.
Suddenly one day our portal server went down.We checked the logs but could not find the correct information. Can any one of help me as why our server went down at that particular time.
Please reply as soon as possible.
Thanks in Advance.
Regards,
Ramalakshmi.SPortal server goes down for several reasons:
1) Check the portal license. If the trial license expired, it goes down every 30 mins.
2) Check your J2EE settings. If the portal cannot handle the user requests, you should increase the MaxThreadCount and other parameters.
3) Check the trace files at D:\usr\sap\<SID>\JC01\j2ee\cluster\server0\log
Hope this helps.

Hi All,
I am using AS9i, Forms Server 6i, and Database 9i on a single Server Machine (Dell 2950).
I am facing a problem on my server,
Some time ifweb60 process capture the 100 % CPU. and did not release it.
and server goes down .
to recover it I have restarted the server, But its not a proper Solution.
I need help from U people to resolve the problem.
Regards,
RazaYou will need to go through your log files to find out what is happening, I guess.
Also you can use Process Lasso (http://www.bitsum.com/prolasso.shtml) to avoid your server becomes unresponsive if one process takes 100% cpu. -
Hello,
I am running SCOM 2012 R2 and I am trying to setup an alert to let me know when a server goes down. I tried creating a rule that monitored the Management Server's "Operations Manager" Event Log for ID 20022. I also configured
the rule that parameter #2 must have my servers name. I also tried EventDescription conatains my servers name. None of them worked. But I looked in the Event Log of my Management Server and as I looked at all of the 20022 entries, I noticed
the computer I was on was listed as not heartbeating. Two of my other servers that are currently on were listed as not heartbeating. So obviously monitoring this 20022 entry is not reliable. I do not want to setup a monitor for something
like Ping Status. I want to try to avoid using monitors because they could be taxing on the servers, my management server, and my network.Hi
yes event id 20022 is not reliable and never go for windows event id monitor for server shutdown or unavailability on agent , as scom health service will be stopped or connection closed with MS at the time of shutdown on agent.
you need to go for ICMP port monitoring for server availability, as port monitoring run from remote server(watcher node) and can capture server unavailability and ping test.
refer below link for port monitoring
