BIG IMESSAGE/TEXTING PROBLEMS

After both my sister and I upgraded our iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S to iOS 7, when I text my sister now she receives the text message from my phone number and a separate text from her own phone number. I believe she is also receiving iMessages between me and my other contacts as well.
I have already erased her Apple ID and logged in with my own and also made sure that her number did not appear under Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. We are both on the same phone plan so I'm not sure if that has something to do with it. I called Verizon and their technical support told me to factory reset my phone, but after reading another discussion question in which that didn't solve the issue, I am reluctant to do so.
It should also be noted that I am using her old iPhone 4S. It broke and she purchased an iPhone 4 while waiting for it to be restored.
Is there anything else I can try?

This is typically caused by both devices sharing an Apple ID for iMessage and FaceTime (she's receiving SMS to her phone number, but iMessages to your Apple ID). I would recommend signing out of iMessage on her device. Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, tap your Apple ID, and select Sign Out. Then sign in with her Apple ID.

E6 Big Texting Problem

Can anybody help me out with this problem?
My E6 has developed a texting problem, whenever I send a text none of the text appears in the conversation speech bubble, just the date or time when it was sent and the character "0". Does anyone know why?

Would suggest that you backup E6-00 using Nokia Suite, then reset device to "Out of box" state by keying in *#7370# followed by 12345 (default Nokia lock code unless altered by user). Perhaps restore contacts only and try out texting/conversations before restoring device any further.

I have not seen the problem that you are describing on my iPad Air and, I expect, that this scenario would be thoroughly tested by Apple before release. Weird texting problem

I have a Z1s running 5.0.2 and I'm not a big texter. I'm using the stock apps for texting and contacts. I was trying to send a text to someone I had never texted before. I brought up their contact page and pressed the little text icon and I got a texting screen except that it was covered by a menu that had options like 'add video', 'add picture' and a bunch of others that prevented me from actually being able to text. The options did nothing and the back arrow also did nothing, so I was prevented from composing and sending a text. I sent the text I needed to from my desktop using mighty text. When I received a reply, I was prevented from reading it by the same menu which still did nothing. That was yesterday. Today, the menu was gone and I could read the return text. For a while though, I was prevented from reading any other text I had received. I would press on one and the first one I looked at came up instead. Then that went away after a while and things seemed to have returned to 'normal'. I really don't understand what is going on with my phone. I like the phone and I love the battery life, but this bit of weirdness and the fact that some apps that worked just fine on my N4, don't seem to work at all on the Z1s. I have an app named Move that counts your steps during your day. It worked just fine on my N4, but on the Z1s it's only counting maybe 1-3% of my steps. It says I walked 89 steps yesterday and that is absurd. I assume that the app uses the accellerometer to do its work. I have another app that uses the gps for tracking and it's not registering anything even though the gps seems to be functioning. And the phone doesn't have as good a connection during calls as my N4. I get a lot of static and breaking up during calls that I never got on my N4. 99% of my calls are made and received at my home, so that is what I'm comparing. Anyone have any clues as to what is going on here? The update to lollipop was done through the pc connection. Any additional updates have been done OTA. I haven't rebooted in a while and I think I'll try that first. TIALT

The texting problem has gone away for a while, so I can't take a screen shot. I loaded the suggested messaging and google fit. I don't like changing apps if what I had worked under lollipop on my N4 and now that I have the Z1s also running lollipop they don't. It seems to me that Sony must have something to do with this problem. Either the hardware or the software (os) is significantly different (inferior). The gps tracking app I'm using is called Bubbler. I tested it today and it only registered my location a handful of times instead of the every 5 or 10 minutes like it's supposed to. To me this indicates that the gps is not functioning properly. The phone and the sim card are about a month old and it came as a micro sim. I don't mean to be a whiner, I'm just confused and disappointed that things are not functioning as I expected. And on top of all that, the call quality is less than stellar. SorryLT

How can I disable Notification Centre in IOS5 and go back to getting the big blue text message notifications?

I have Iphone 4S on iOS 5
I flicked the button in settings to set up Notification Centre, but now I want to disable Notification Centre as the text notification is nowhere near as good as the old 'big blue' text received box.
1- where do I find button to DISABLE Notification Centre? (I can't find one)
2- how do I revert back to the old big blue box text notification?

I've tried literally every option available in "Notifications" to get back the big blue box, but it seems that every option I choose nothing really changes.
The messages continue to come up with the small box, green Message icon, and the name and Text Message beneath.
Is there no other way, or some sort of trick, to get the blue box back?

Not receiving group iMessages/texts

First off - i know there have been lots of threads similar to this. I've looked through those and tried the suggestions, but to no avail. I'm still left with the same issue.
I've switched back and forth between my iPhone and Android phones for a couple of years or so and never had any issues with iMessage - until iOS 7.0.3.
Since 7.0.3 i have not been able to receive any iMessages/Texts from friends while in a group chat on my Android device. I can send them and my friends receive them, but i cannot receive from them. I get individual texts/iMessages fine, just not group and only when it's from an iPhone. I am able to receive group messages from Blackberry, Android and Windows devices.
The catch. I gave up on iPhone and officially jumped ship to the Moto X before 7.0.3 was released and i COULD get group texts before 7.0.3.
Here is what has been done. BEFORE switching to the Moto X, i deactivated iMessage on my iPhone AND on both of my iPad's. I made sure to also uncheck the phone number and my email addresses BEFORE deactiviating iMessage. Also did the same with Facetime (not sure if that matters or not).
I have unregistered the iPhone from my Apple profile/support account.
I have deleted all iPhone numbers from my iCloud contacts.
I have tried 4 different Android messaging applications.
I have the correct settings in Android.
I have called Apple and had them remove my phone number from iMessage.
I have made sure that my friends (one is actually my wife so i even did it myself on her phone) have it set to send SMS if iMessage is not available.
I have deleted my contact from my wife's phone, my wife's iPad and my wife's iCloud and then set it up again (as a mobile and not as an iPhone).
I've even called Verizon and Motorola both who believe, as do i, that this is an Apple issue since it only started when my friends installed 7.0.3.
I've ran out of ideas, and ran out of places to go since Apple's support only had the one suggestion which was for them to remove the phone number from iMessage.
I'm open to anything (except going back to iPhone since that would mean i need to splash out on a new phone again). However, i do have an iPhone 4 in my house that i could use if need to TEMPORARILY activate to do something else.

I left words out while i was typing in a hurry.
I was saying that the friends of mine who are using the iPhone, have told me that other Android users that they group chat with, are also unable to receive group messages from them.
I think i have been able to narrow the issue down, after spending more time with Apple and with Verizon. Verizon had me text STOP to an Apple Short Code, which resulted in about 40 texts from my wife being delivered via the open group chat that we have with our friends.
To test that this resolved my issue, Verizon initiated a group chat from two test iPhones, which also resulted in success. I was also able to successfully group chat with 6 other groups of friends all with iPhones. I did the same test with a mix of Android and iPhone users too, with success.
Where it failed, was with the original couple. I am still unable to receive group chats from them, while my wife, who is in the same chat, does receive them. I do however, get the texts from my wife in that group chat. Very strange. So i am thinking it is something with their devices and not the fact that i switched from Apple to Android.
The progress today, after a few weeks of frustration is that i can now receive group chats from everybody i would regularly text with (android or iphone users), except this two people, who happen to be the one's i group chat with the most. They are iPhone 4s users on Sprint.

Lines around type and other type/text problems in Dreamweaver CS3

First the good news…
My thanks to a forum member by the name of Mylenium. With Mylenium's advice I have improved my halo problem by including a black background when I save type in Illustrator CS3 as part of importing it into Dreamweaver CS3.
However, the bad news, is that I’m still having type and text problems.
Problem area 1
Now, in Dreamweaver, I’m getting lines appearing around the type.
I am dragging and dropping the .gif type file into a Dreamweaver Div Tag.
How do I get rid of the lines around the type so that they do not show up in the Safari browser?

I cannot drag and drop text from a Word .doc file into a Dreamweaver div tag.
I also cannot copy and paste Word .doc text into a div tag.
How do I include text on my webpage without having to manually type it in?

From within Dreamweaver CS3, how do I place text? Dragging and droppign the file does not work.

I get lines around type.........not usually a good thing.........How do I fix it?
The way I created the portfolio type in IllustratorCS3 using the File > Save for Web and Devices. I then imported the resulting .gif file so that it was within my root folder within the Files panel within Dreamweaver CS3.
Am I doing this right?

The problems you are experiencing with the image text, (why are you using image text, these days?) is probably cause by the image having a border when created in illustrator, or the image size being set incorrectly.

On the mac it is a little more complex, save your word doc as html, then apply the 'clean up word html files', (see - http://livedocs.adobe.com/en_US/Dreamweaver/9.0/help.html?content=WSc78c5058ca073340dcda91 10b1f693f21-7ef5.html) copy the relevant text and mark-up from the word html file, and paste into your html document in the required position.

Workaround for the Fade/Appear blocky text problem in IE

Just wanted to share with folks a workaround for the IE
"blocky text" problem that you see when using Fade effects like the
one used in this example:

It turns out if you set the 'background' CSS property on the
element you are fading, that IE properly renders the text. So to
fix the effects sample above, all you would have to do is modify
this CSS rule in the file to place a background color on the
description region to get things to look good in IE:

background: white;
So if folks have been avoiding the use of effects because it
makes things look terrible in IE, you now have a workaround.

I was using spry's AppearFade effect to transition between
"slides" in what equates to a viewstack that I created.
Then I noticed that it would take bold text in IE and make it
look all smudgy or blurry.
Well, after working on it for a while, I got to thinking,

browser"... "Hmmm, I wonder".

Lo and behold, feed the stupid MS browser an MS font and it

I'm referring to a log that shows the incoming and outgoing numbers of the imessages. Like a phone bill shows for regular text messages. Didn't know if one is available to track messages. Especially ones that have been deleted.

Fingers to big to text!

I like my new iPhone but man my fingers are to big to text fast like I am used to doing. Someone on FB mentioned that I use something called Swype but I think that is on Android phones only. Anything similar to that on the iPhone? Now I will say that in some cases I have used SIRI to text something for me! LOL!

On the keyboard for a text, select the microphone icon to the left of the space bar to speak your text.

Nokia C3-00 texting problem.

Hello everyone, this is my frist post on here. So i bought the nokia c3 and unlocked it from the vodafone network. I use my 02 sim now. I just discovered something that annoys me and need help getting rid of it.
My problem is that after every text send the phone virbates letting me know that i have sent the text and my balance comes up. how do i change the settings so that this doesn't come up. Really annoying as i've just got a new number and sent out a mass text to everyone. The phone vibrated for like 2 minutes straight!!
Any help greatly appreciated. Thank you.

At the phone store where I bought the Nokia C3 they removed the Vodaphone presets ( since I have another provider ) and they also updated my phone with the latest software available ( see below ).
But now I have a serious texting problem!
If you type the Q you get an A , a=q , z=w and w=z .
Also after you typed something and you delete the text and reopen the textbox again this word will reappear on a blue underscore?? Anyone any idea what's happened or had the same problem??

Text Problems in Safari 4

Just this morning I started to experience bad text rendering problems in Safari 4. I am seeing text that overlaps on other text, text that leaves a button and crosses over into the space next to it, text that is truncated on buttons, image alignment problems, and more. Typing in text boxes is a problem, too -- the cursor doesn't display at the point where text is actually being inserted, but several characters off.
It doesn't affect every site -- Google and Netflix look OK, while Apple and Facebook are strongly affected to the point of being almost unusable. Firefox and Chrome on the same laptop are working fine. Other programs on the system, like TextEdit, are fine, too. I have tried changing the default font preferences in Safari, but while the text size changes on certain pages, the overlapping text problem isn't helped.
I have screenshots of the issue -- how do I post them?
Does anyone else see this issue? Many thanks for your opinions and advice?

They also do not assign background-color to "every" css element. Why would you (to bloat CSS)? So, there is exactly "one" error which is well documented and is supported in CSS2.1 when released.

IMessage Text Messaging Problem

A few months ago my sister decided to change phones from an iPhone to another phone, she called Apple Support to remove iMessage registration which she did successfully. The thing is iMessage on my Mac Mini and on my Macbook Pro still shows her number as registered to iMessage. In the drop down, it shows her email address which is registered to iMessage since she has a Macbook Pro, and her phone number which on rare occasion, it actually shows "123-456-7890 Text Message" next to it...But mostly it still says "123-456-7890 iMessage". I do have an iPhone 6+ and Text Message Forwarding on.
Like when it works, and I am texting her on the MacMini and I would need to restart the mac for w/e reason, when I try to text her again it will for some reason switch to iMessage and then I get an undeliverable message.
I then completely reset iMessage by deleting all the plists relative to iMessage and all the history for her and I deleted her contact info and my messages on both my macs and my iPhone.
Is there anything I am missing? This is extremely frustrating. Does anyone have any ideas?

Even before Yosemite and iOS 8 and the Text Forwarding function Messages has always shown any number as a potential iMessages contact.
It shows my land line as and iMessages contact but without the Blue "previous contact" indicator.
I do not have any other numbers to check the "number Text Message" indicator with at the moment.
I have seen several other threads where SMS started on the iPhone and then continued on the Mac works but trying to Start one on the Mac does not.
There is now no setting in the File Menu to start a specific type of Chat.
Deleting all the .plists for the Messages app is now extensive as it involves all the ones with iChat in the titles and some with iMessages in the tiles plus several that don't.
It also involves some in the ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.iChat sub folders and some in the com.apple.soagent folder as well.
Some will achieve nothing.
com.apple.iChat.SubNet.plist refers only to Bonjour
com.apple.iChat.StatusMessages.plist only holds the Saved Status messages in Buddy Lists and is actually nothing to do with iMessages
com.apple.iChat.LSSharedFileList.plist only stores the Recent Chats list which the Messages app In Yosemite does not display.
com.apple.ids.service.com.apple.madrid.plist is the one that holds the Apple ID and the iPhone Numbers and any other aliases you have linked to your account.
As you can see it does not mention iChat or iMessages. It holds nothing about how it connects to specific contacts.
The com.apple.ids.service.com.apple.ess.plist seems to contain the same info (but always has an older Modified date and never "today" to say it is in use.
com.apple.imessage.bag.plist only lists the Server you are connected to for iMessages.
Most likely it is going to be one of these
These are some of the ones relating to the SOAgent support app.
As you can see by the Path Bar across the bottom these are deep in the Containers folder which is used by the Sandbox protection process.
Some of the .plist items are Aliases to the originals in ~/Library/Preferences but the ones highlighted are actual .plists.
A quick look at them in Xcode does not reveal anything.
com.apple.messageshelper.AccountInfoController.plist looks promising but might only be linked to Buddy Lists rather than the iMessages account.
I don't think you are missing any Setting in Messages app or the iMessages account itself (or menu items that only refer to that part of the app.).
However with a lack of testing here on this side I also have no suggestions.

Imessage or text problem

I gave my iPhone 4S to a relative when i upgraded to 5S. I deleted contacts, previous messages, icloud etc and she installed new SIM and phone number. But when she sends me a text message, sometimes it appears in our message string as an outgoing message from me to me and worse, some messages she has sent appear in my phone as a message from me to one of my contacts?
She is using IOs7 but not sure which version
I am also on IOS7 v4
Can someone help to stop this ?

Sounds as if you left your Apple ID on the device. As such, it is showing in her message data. You should have wiped the phone clean. If you log into iCloud, do you still see that device? If that is the case, you need to get the phone and follow the steps in this support document. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5661
