Binary in java
is it possible to declare an int a binary number. and if so, how?
eg.
public static final int BINARY_1 = 1; //1
public static final int BINARY_2 = 10; //2
public static final int BINARY_2 = 11; //3
public static final int BINARY_4 = 100; //4
.....etc
Design an applet for converting numbers between binary, hexadecimal and signed decimal with the following specifications:1.It should allow the user to enter in a number in any of the above number bases and display its equivalent in the other two bases.2.The program should have one user-interface class (i.e. the applet) and one or more other classes modelling the required objects. The user-interface class should only capture user inputs and display results. Other activities should be carried out within the objects created in the applet.3.When displaying a decimal number, it should indicate + sign for positive and - sign for negative values.
When displaying a binary number, it should have at least one leading 0 for positive and one at least leading 1 for negative values.
Decimal numbers should be grouped in three digits, separated by commas (e.g. 1,234,567). Binary/hexadecimal should be grouped in four bits/digits (e.g. 01,0010,1010 and 1,A97D).
Please e-mail to me,thanks.

Coding binary in Java, how is it stored or extracted? Please assist
Hey people i came across the code below in a puzzle game and i dont really understand how binary coding works with java. could some one explain how this code would be store or extracted? Is the code below how it would be stored? please explain
public static final int MASK_X = 0xF0000000;
public static final int MASK_Y = 0x0F000000;
public static final int MASK_PUZZLE_VAL = 0x000000F0;
public static final int MASK_GRID_VAL = 0x0000000F;
public static final int MASK_NOTES = 0x0001FF00;
public static final int MASK_IS_DEFAULT = 0x00100000;
public static final int MASK_IS_EDITABLE = 0x00200000;
public static final int MASK_IS_HINT = 0x00400000;
private static final int HEX1FF = 0x1ff; // what is this line doing?
Cheers!As noted above, this is hexadecimal. So rather than using base 10, this uses base 16 so that the right hand number is simply that number (with A = 10, B = 11, C = 12... F = 15). The next column of number represents the 16 column and is multiplied by 16, the next column represents the 16x16 column... so that:
0x1FF means
1 * 16 * 16 +
15 * 16 +

How to convert a .jsp to a .java/.class file for use in peoplesoft
Hi java/jsp experts,
I want to convert a .jsp to a .java/.class file. is there a tool available, please let me know if you have any pointers....
or can i do it manually:
these are a few lines that the .jsp contains, and i would like to translate this to be in .java/.class format:
<%@ page import="sun.misc.BASE64Encoder, javax.crypto., javax.crypto.spec."%>
<%@ page import="java.util.StringTokenizer" %>
<%@ page import="java.util.Map" %>
<%!
sb.append("<input type=\"hidden\" name=\"orderPage_serialNumber\" value=\"");
sb.append(serialNumber);
sb.append("\">\n");
return sb.toString();
%>
how can i translate the above import statements and html elements from jsp to java, please let me know.
Once i have the .java file created from the .jsp, I will compile .java to create the .class file and invoke the .class in peoplecode by using java apis available in peopletools.
Thanks in advance.Is there a way convert a binary .exe file( compiled by
another compiler) into Java .class/.jar file ? Anyone
know of a free program that can do this?It's not possible. There are many decompilers and disassemblers for Java but nothing will take you from ANY binary to Java source. It would be the end of computing as we know it and the beginning of a new era -:) -
Execute a linux command on java
Hi i'm trying to execute a c binary on java ,
the binary is Tcpreplay tool , i tried with the class Runtime but it didn't work plz can any one help me thanks a lotok these are the details
this is what i tried
import java.io.* ;
public class test1
private static Runtime runtime=Runtime.getRuntime();
private static Process test ;
public static void main (String[] args )
try {
test=runtime.exec("tcpreplay --intf1=eth1 --intf2=eth2 --cachefile=trace-http.cache trace-http.pcap ") ;
catch (IOException ex)
System.out.println("Problem with execution");
another detail is there is no exception reported -
Displaying the output from a java class executed from W/I another class
I have compiled a java class, but I have run into a problem executing the class. I have read the posts and still have not solved the solution. I have tried to get the output of the Process by using "proc.getOutputStream().toString()", however it displays it in binary (ex. java.io.BufferOutputStream@48eb2067). If anyone can provide any assistance I would greatly appreciate it. Or if you could tell me if I'm on the right track or not. Thanks ALL. Here is a code segment:
int truncStart = s.indexOf(".java");
s = s.substring(0,truncStart);
String[] command2 = {"java","c:/"+s};
try
//JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null,"Exec. File "+s, "Exec. File : ",JOptionPane.ERROR_MESSAGE);
proc = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(command2);
JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null,"Output: "+proc.getOutputStream().toString(),"Output"
,JOptionPane.ERROR_MESSAGE);
}You have to read the stream, like:
InputStream stream = proc.getOutputStream();
// now use methods on stream, such as read() to read the characters/lines - or wrap it in another line-friendly stream - see the java.io.* classes - keep reading until you get an end-of-stream indicator, depending on the API you end up using. -
What type should I use ? long Binary ??
Hi everyone:
I want to use MySQL as my Database.But I come across a problem. MySQL have some data types like "long text , long binary , long blob,smallint " I know data type varchar is java String only. What java data type should I use according MySQL? For example : What is long binary in Java ? Is it Blob? ThksAnother thing you can do, is do a query with the fields in question, and then use
Object o = ResultSet.getObject(i)
System.out.println( o.getClass().getName());
to figure out what kind of class you should use. -
Hallo,
I want to read a binary file (DOC, PRD, TIF,...) within a JCO-Server and transfer this file to SAP.
In SAP we want to store the file in DMS.
Next step is to read a file from DMS and store the file external using the JCO-Server.
My questions are:
1. How can I upload/download any binary in JAVA
2. How have I to define the communication tabel between SAP and JCO to transfer the data (string,char, raw) and how long must be a row.
Maybe any code exsamples ?
ThanksWe found the way how to define the tables so we can transfer the data between SAP an Java.

Help with binary to decimal, binary to hex, and hex to ascii or ascii to hex program
I decided to do a program that will do binary to decimal, binary to hex, and hex to ascii for a project related to a java programming course, which only needs to perform features from chapters 1-6 and 8 of Tony Gaddis's book. The functions work fine as their own main programs out side of this combined effort, so can anyone help me determine why I get the following 41 errrors saying: class, interface, or enum expected as well as any other errors that may show up afterwards because I'm stumped. My flowcharts, which have to be revised after discovering that my previous function were logically incorrect after running them in their own main are attached below as the spec sheet.
My code is as follows and I hope you don't mind the commented lines of unused code because I'm not sure where I want things and what I want at the moment:
import java.util.Scanner;

Yes - YOU CAN!
My code is as follows and I hope you don't mind the commented lines of unused code because I'm not sure where I want things and what I want at the moment:
Excellent! Commenting out code is EXACTLY how you troubleshoot problems like yours.
Comment out sections of code until the problem goes away. Then start adding back ONE SECTION of code at a time until the problem occurs. When it does you have just FOUND the problem.
If you do that you wind up with code that looks like this:
import java.util.Scanner;
import java.io.*;
import java.lang.*;
public class BintoDectoHextoAscii {
public static void main(String[] args)throws IOException {
Scanner input = new Scanner(System.in);
System.out.println("Enter a binary number: ");
String binary = input.nextLine(); // store input from user
public static String BinaryToHexadecimal(String hex) { } // end function
Notice ANYTHING UNUSUAL?
You have a complete CLASS definition followed by a method definition.
Methods have to be INSIDE the class - you can NOT define methods on their own.
Write modular code.
Write EMPTY methods - just the method signature and maybe a RETURN NULL if you need to return something.
Then add calls to those empty methods.
When everything compiles and runs find you can start adding code to the methods ONE METHOD AT A TIME.
Test compile and run after you add the code for each method. -
Capturing the errro message written to stderr by a 'C' binary ..
Hi Fello Developers,
I've tried using Runtime.exec to execute a 'C' binary from Java.
I am getting the normal output written by the 'C' binary to STDOUT.
I am using process.getInputStream(); to read the output returned by the 'C' binary.
But when the 'C' binary is written the error messages to stderr, I am unable to capture them through process.getInputStream();
Can some one help in this regard ?
Thanks and regards,
- mailtorkIt just working fine.good.
Thank you once again.You're welcome of course; have a good Weekend yourself too and,
kind regards,

Process TIFF file from FTP server using File/FTP adapter
Hi,
I have a requirement to process a scanned document TIFF file from a directory on an FTP server using the File/FTP adapter and process through XI into a Web Service via a receiver SOAP adapter.
My question is can the file/FTP adapter be used to process the TIFF file into XI from an FTP server ? Also, what settings need to be made on the file adapter to allow this file to be processed into XI ?
Thanks in advance
Colinhi colin,
TIFF is type of image file, it can be converted to binary using java mapping

Debug level Hibernate log excerpt:
Included in the above description.That's not the right mapping for the 1:m relationship in Hibernate.
First of all, I believe the recommendation is to have a separate .hbm.xml file for each class, so you should have one for Parent and Child.
Second, you'll find the proper syntax for a one-to-many relationship here:
http://www.hibernate.org/hib_docs/v3/reference/en/html/tutorial.html#tutorial-associations
See if those help.
The tutorial docs for Hibernate are quite good. I'd recommend going through them carefully.

Android: How to upload a file to OneDrive?
Iam trying to upload a file using the OneDrive Saver sample app. Instead of creating a text file, I would like to select a file from the gallery and then upload it to OneDrive. I have edited the sample app but the file cannot be uploaded. I don't have
any errors.
Sample app available on GitHub (https://github.com/OneDrive/onedrive-picker-android/tree/master/SaverSample).
