Binary not present in /run after compiling [solved]

Hello,
I'm comipiling john with CUDA support on x86_64. I have cuda-toolkit installed and after adding -L /usr/lib -lstdc++ to the linker flag it looks like it finished without errors.
According to INSTALL the binary john should be in ../run/ after his but nothing is there. Running it as root did not help. Any clues?

EDIT: Well don't mix up /run with ../run. I should really go to bed.

Yes stupid me forgot that the initial dir also contains a run folder. But after reading run in the INSTALL file I had /run in my mind and was a bit puzzled why one should compile into that directory.

    Captivate 3 shows skin in preview but not when I run after published.  It shows it is included, what's up?

    Is the Skin externalised?  If so, perhaps Flash Global Security is interfering:

    You could also try NOT externalising the skin.

  • I am not able to run after I've installed MF3.6. Now it will not let me uninstall the program.

    Time Warner told me that because I was running 3 browsers I had a "conflict". I had Mozilla, Google Chrome, and Internet Explorer8. We had a poweroutage on cable: both tv and computer (Time Warner's problem). When power came back I could not open my Mozilla Firefox, the other browsers were working. This problem began approximately on Jan 28, 2011. I had the older version of Firefox on Jan. 28th. I was not able to uninstall this from my computer without the help from the tech at Time Warner. We then installed the newer version 3.6. Removed Google Chrome. Again I could not get 3.6 to open. Time Warner told me to contact the manufacturer because "something was afecting my registry".
    I contacted ZT, through the Safe Mode we uninstalled 3.6 and installed 3.6. Again, it does not open . I tried to uninstall the progam again and the same message appears: that it is in the process of uninstalling or changing, but it does not start the process of uninstalling. ZT told me to contact Mozilla Firefox.
    I have been using Mozilla Firefox for years and would like to continue-
    please help me,

    Make sure you take package structure into account.
    If you have say
    package testing.things;
    public class Test
        public static void main(String[] args)
            System.out.println("World Hello");
    }in file Test.java, you compile it with (assuming your current working directory is at the folder in which the source file is located).
    javac -d . Test.javaand run it with
    java testing.things.TestThe -d . option creates the output at the current directory (with a folder structure matching your package structure).

  • Android applications will not open or run after upgrading to BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.3.1

    I have a BlackBerry Q10 when I install 10.2.1 same error now I upgrade then be same problem android apps not working or not run
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi and Welcome to the Community!
    I recommend you reload your OS via AutoLoader, to the most recent version just released Friday:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-10-OS-Device-Software/Upgrading-OS10-devices-using...
    Be sure you take a full backup prior, and perhaps even use Ultimate Backup...sometimes LINK won't restore everything properly, so it depends on how critical your data is that is strictly on the device (e.g., SMS).
    Oh, and btw...OS versions are always 4 octets, not merely 3...and there may be tremendous differences between versions that have the same 3 starting octets.
    Good luck and let us know!

  • Maven problem: class file not added in excecutable after compilation

    Hi,
    I ran into the following issue.
    I created a program, capable of reading an identity card from an electronic card reader. I use maven for dependency management and compilation.
    The libraries used for reading the card reader are not from any maven repository. So I cheated a little bit and added the jar file to the repository myself
    and created a pom file for it too in the repository. I respected the structure groupId - artifactId - version . It is something like
              <dependency>
                   <groupId>be.belgium.eid</groupId>
                   <artifactId>beid35JavaWrapper-win</artifactId>
                   <version>3.5</version>
                   <type>jar</type>
              </dependency>
    The jar file and a pom file are then to be found on that location. When running the program in my development environment, everything runs fine.
    But when I create an executable for this program, the class files for these libs are not added to the created executable.
    questions:
    1/ Do I also need to create the .sha1 file for this. If so: how?
    2/ What are these .sha1 files
    3/ Has anyone written a similar program, but with eid libs from maven? Which ones?
    thanks for any help

    try clearing cache and restarting tomcat. If you post the code that you are using to call the methods it will help to find the issue.

  • Programs wont run after compiling

    not sure what I'm doing wrong here, looked around on the forums for anything, and found nothing regarding this issue.
    I have tried to install a few programs now, AWN, and Cairo-Clock, downloaded the tar files, unpacked them, cd to the directory, and run
    ./configure
    make
    make install
    and then when I try to run the program, i get an error saying the program could not be found, but it is in the menu to run it, what am I doing wrong here?
    Sry for all the noob ?s on the first night with Arch, but this is confusing the hell out of me, I get no errors during configuring, or installing, but the program just will not run. Any help would be appreciated.

    My guess you're installing in a prefix which is not in your path (maybe /usr/local ?).  Either add it to your path, or change the prefix when running configure like
    ./configure --prefix=/usr
    On a side note, why don't you use the packages provided in the AUR. If you use those they will get managed by pacman as a bonus

  • AUR package not present in packer, why? [SOLVED]

    Dear all,
    first: I'm not really sure this topic should be here or in "pacman" section, please be patient.
    I have a quick and simple question: I have been using packer for years, and never happened to me that I couldn't install a AUR package with it. The problem is that I would like to install modipy-git:
    https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/mopidy-git/
    but a search for "modipy" returns no results.
    I'm puzzled.. what's wrong?
    Thanks in advance for any help (actually is just curiosity, I can "fix" this downloading the package, but I would like to stick with packer).
    MJ
    solution: you can't find something that does not exist!
    Last edited by MajinJoko (2013-05-08 09:52:53)

    Perhaps it's because the package is named "mopidy-git" (check your spelling)
    All the best,

    In that case you should probably check that no other packages are missing files with
    pacman -Qkk 2>&1 | grep "No such file or directory"
    Any packages that report that they're missing files, you should reinstall.

  • [SOLVED!] KDE 4.11 - Window Manager seems not to be running?

    Greetings,
    I still seem unable to fix the fact that systemsettings will run. However it will run if you do kdesu systemsettings.
    Doing so I started checking around in it and thought I'd look at the desktop effects, when I was greeted with this:
    So, I am guessing that the window borders and buttons are a figment of my imagination....
    This is after me pretty much starting over with KDE, removing the .kde and .kde4 folders.
    Help?
    Edit: That pic seems to not link right. Yay. Basically it says that effects can not be activated or whatever because a window manager seems not to be running. The irony of it is you can see the fact that there are window borders and buttons and such, evidence of a WM...
    I wonder if there is something here that is related to me not being able to run systemsettings... yet systemsettings will run fine in any other environment - including Gnome Shell.
    Another thing, KDE 4.11 ran great in testing and kde_unstable. Once it went to extra, things happened. I find that odd. Maybe something is missing on my end that most archers already have?
    Edit2: fixed image link

    No omeringen, Nvidia user.
    I can try again Thaodan since I've had some updates come through (and weeded out some dot files). Last time I tried I saw OpenGL 2 selected. Trying to change to 3 or anything else also got the screenshot in my OP.
    I'll log into KDE and see if it still does the same, after a brief check for last minute updates.
    EDIT: OK, so I can mark this as solved. I found an odd dot file, who's name excapes me but deals with kde sessions, just sitting around in the home folder. Once I deleted it and restarted, I found that not only System Settings finally ran again as a user, but I could also change and apply desktop effects. Peculiar. I thought that maybe it was a dot file that was causing the problem, that wasn't in the .kde or .kde4 folder. It just took finding it and removing it.
    I wish I knew more to tell, but this at least solves my issue, and the issue with the non-running-as-user system settings I had posted in another thread (thinking that they were separate events. Thanks again for all your help guys!

  • OC4J not running after creating workspace and projects.

    Created one workspace and added six projects. Added PostGes jar to library manager. Before doing this, the OC4J would run a test application successfully. After creating the workspace and project, I created another simple workspace with two JSP, on linked to the other. When trying to run this project get the following:

    Remove the posgres jar from the library manager and still not able to run simple two page applications.
    All the projects in the other workspace compile fine. The prolblem is that now I am not able to use the internal OC4J. I remove the workspace with the five projects, and the JARs and the two page app will not run.
    The OC4J is running when launched from the IDE, ti just can find the pages.
    New install of JDEV and the two page app will run fine. Add two user two user libraries and the app will not run.
    Thank you,
    Ben Carter

    Do you have a database connection to postgress defined in JDeveloper?
    JDev might be picking this up and trying to add a datasource for it to the embedded OC4J - so try removing it, or alternatively add the postgress JDBC driver jar files to the libraries node under tools->embedded OC4J preferences.

  • How do I enlarge the "presenter notes" window when running my presentation on an external display?

    In the latest version of Keynote, the "Presenter Notes" window is a small horizontal field at the bottom of the presenter's computer screen.  Only 3-4 lines of text can be seen.  This means that when you have a few paragrahs of notes, you have to scroll through them as you are presenting.  This is very cumbersome.  In the previous version of Keynote you could change the relative size of the slides versus the "presenter's notes" boxes when running a presentation on an external display, but in the new version, I can't find a way of enlarging the "presenter's notes" field.
    Also, in the new version, the preview slide doesn't show the initial text on the next slide if that text emerges as a "dissolve in" build when you advance forward through your slides.  I always have the initial text on my slides automatically "dissolve in" after each slide transtion.  But in the new version of Keynote, when in presenter mode, I can't see any of the text on the "next slide."  This makes it difficult to anticipate what slide comes next . . . without going to the Navigator.  Does any one have a solution for this?
    Thank you.

    I figured it out with the help of a post from a few days ago.  Although posted for a different problem, I followed these steps from Cornelia-I and it worked like a charm:
    You can change the link of LR to the images from the network drive to your local drive, best done on parent folder level: right-click the highest folder in library left panel, and choose update storage location. In the opening dialog window point it to your internal folder.

    1st problem see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firewalls
    2nd problem, to close Firefox properly use File > Exit
    :not with the [x] in upper right corner which close window
    :see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_hangs#Hang_at_exit
    :if restarting use "Restartless Restart" extension as mentioned there.
