Binary PHP installer with OCI8 supprt for SunOS 5.10

Hello!
Does anybody know if we can get a binary PHP installer with OCI8 supprt for SunOS 5.10 somewhere?
We're trying to configure and compile our own, but there's no end to resolving dependancies, errors, etc...

Nope, just running:
./configure --with-apxs2=/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs
make
make install
Works just fine(with the libphp5.so file being deleted). Problem doesn't arise until I try to add in the --with-ci8=xxx.

I have problemes to compile the php module for aix5.2 full 64bit kernel. The compiler (libtool/gcc) fails to use the pthread lib.
The GCCFLAGS are -maix64 -pthread but did not help.
Any help how to compile?

try replacing all oracle/lib by oracle/lib32 in makefile
and restart make without configure

Please grab the "re-factored" oci8 code from http://pecl.php.net/package/oci8. The version of oci8 distributed with PHP 4 should be avoided. Replace the PHP 4.4 ext/oci8 directory completely with the new package, run buildconf --force and then configure/make etc. Note the configure option for instant client has changed:
--with-oci8=instantclient,/usr/lib/oracle/10.2.0.3/client/lib

Library error when configuring PHP with OCI8

I'm running into a problem running the configure command to include OCI8 in our Linux PHP in order to connect to a remote Oracle database. I've been following the instructions on the page:

We have a CentOS 4.6 server:

* PHP 4.x
I've downloaded the latest PHP we can get for 4.x (4.4.8). I can compile and install the default PHP 4.4.8 without issue. However, trying to configure the OCI8 runs into problems:
I've added the types to the httpd.conf file and installed the rpms:
oracle-instantclient-basic-11.1.0.1-1.i386.rpm
oracle-instantclient-devel-11.1.0.1-1.i386.rpm
I'm unsure if 4.4.8 config.m4 is correct -- but if we try to use the php_oci8c_buildpatch, it fails, so I went with the default config.m4 in PHP 4.4.8.
I try to configure with the command:
./configure with-oci8-instant-client prefix=/usr/local/bin/php with-apxs2 enable-sigchild --with-config-file-path=/etc/httpd/conf
...and get the error it can't find the libraries:

The problem is in PHP. If you open configure script you will see that PHP 4.4.8 does not know instantclient 11g. He just know 10g.
So you have three options:
1. use 10g instant client
2. use PHP5 instead of PHP4 (as PHP4 are deprecated, so no new versions in the future)
"Support for PHP 4 has been discontinued since 2007-12-31. Please consider upgrading to PHP 5.2. The release below is the last PHP 4 release."
3. You can rewrite configure script :-) which is possible but according to option 2 this option is silly.

Php 5.1.2 doesn't seem to recognize the --with-oci8-instant-client option

I just tried configuring php 5.1.2 with the --with-oci8-instant-client option and could never get phpinfo() to show the oci8 section...
Finally went back and tried php 5.1.1 and it worked.
If anyone else could verify this behavior, maybe the PHP folks should be notified??

Discovered the issue:
the configure script changed the format of the config option
in php 5.1.1:
--with-oci8[=DIR] Include Oracle (OCI8) support using an ORACLE_HOME
install. The default DIR is ORACLE_HOME
--with-oci8-instant-client[=DIR]
Include Oracle (OCI8) support using
Oracle Instant Client. DIR is the directory with the
Instant Client libraries. On Linux it will default to
/usr/lib/oracle/<most_recent_version>/client/lib
Other platforms will need to have it explicitly specified
HOWEVER, in php 5.1.2:
--with-oci8[=DIR] Include Oracle (OCI8) support.
The default DIR is ORACLE_HOME.
Use --with-oci8=instantclient,/path/to/oic/lib
to use Oracle Instant Client installation
This explains why the --with-oci8-instant-client option is ignored. The new format is:
--with-oci8=instantclient,/path/to/libs

Latvian Language support for generated PDF's with FPDF module for PHP

I have a problem with Adobe Reader for Android. I am working with online PDF creation with PHP module named FPDF.
With FPDF module for PHP you can create PDF's online.
The problem is that - when generated PDF appears on phone it doesn't show Latvian language ( cp1257 or ISO-8859-13 for example ). For example - "ŗķļņž" and "ŖĶĻŅŽ" is shown with other symbols.
However opening the same file with standart app "Polaris Office" - the text is show as it used to be, without problem.
Strange bug, that i can't fix from PHP ( Tried a lot of decodes and encodes ). Also i have saved PHP file with different encodings - nothing helped.

Volume Correction Factor Procedure for Installs With Gauge Corrected Meters

I am trying to set-up a VCF for installations meters that self correct for guage pressure. However, the installations do not correct for altitude/air pressure, i.e. they are not absolute pressure corrected.
Therefore, I need a procedure that converts for air pressure but not guage/absolute pressure.
An example would be that the installations air pressure is 1.000 Bar, with the Gauge Pressure being 0.50 Bar. Therefore, the total pressure correction factor should 1/1.0135, NOT 1.5/1.0135.
Can anyone tell me what the VCF set-up should be?
Note I realise there's also temperature and super compressiblity involved in the VCF, however this is immaterial for my question.

We have a solution.
For the Volume Correction Factor Procedure to be used for gauge corrected meters, we've ticked Air Pressure Correction.
And then for the gauge corrected meters, we've populated the Air Pressure Correction value as being the negative value of the gauge pressure.
So, therefore for the relevant installation at say 0.6 Bar gauge pressure at an air pressure area that is 1 Bar, the pressure calcuation becomes
= (Air Pressure + Gauge Pressure + Air Pressure Correction)/(Standard Air Pressure)
= (1 + 0.6 + -0.6)/1.01325
= (1)/1.01325
= 0.9878
The number of gauge corrected meters we have is very small (<100), therefore using the Air Pressure Correction as a way of stoppping gauge pressure being double applied (once by the meter, and then by SAP) is a suitable solution.

i am using
1) Linux 3.0 (A.S)
2)Oracle (10g)
3)Apache2
for php as front end.
the problem is when i am installing php with oci8 it is not giving any errors that command i have given is

it is not giving any errors it is installing very perfectly
then i have written one page

The $ORACLE_HOME has oci.h ?
What does find $ORACLE_HOME -name 'oci.h' ? If you don't have oci.h download the oci headers from OTN or copy them from another installation.

Is there a easy proven method of getting php working with oracle?

I am trying to get php 4.3.11 working oracle instant client + suse9.2 + apache2 to connect to a remote oracle db. Recompling php and apache2 from source with oci8 in mind.
Facing a lot of Recompling errors. Is there any rpm with all libs.
What is the best combinations? (dont mind starting from scratch)
Any hints or help will be greatly appreciated.

I was not able to solve the problem with MS SQL 2000, but I was able to resolve the issue with MS SQL 2005.
You have to chhose the following settings while instalation,
Service Account - Select one of the following options:
1) Use the built-in System account for each service and choose Local system or Network Service.
2) Use a domain user account, and enter the user name and password.
Under Start services at the end of setup make sure that SQL Server and SQL Server Agent are selected.
Authentication Mode
1) Select Mixed Mode (Windows Authentication and SQL Server Authentication).
This mode is required for a Java or ABAP+Java system.
If you choose this mode, you have to set the password for the sa login.
Note: The password for the sa login must comply with the Windows password policy.
Collation Settings
1) Select SQL collations (used for compatibility with previous versions of SQL Server).
2) From the drop-down list select Binary order based on code point comparison, for use with the 850 (Multilingual) Character Set.

PHP5.2.4 with oci8 Compiling issues

Hi I had installed apache .2.0.54 rpm and installed oracle-instantclient-basic and oracle-instantclient-devel and compliled php-5.2.4 with the follwoing options
sudo ./configure with-oci8=instantclient,/usr/lib/oracle/10.2.0.3/client/lib/ prefix=/opt/php with-apxs2=/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs enable-sigchild --with-config-file-path=/etc/httpd/conf
Make gives a error
/usr/bin/ld: skipping incompatible /usr/lib/oracle/10.2.0.3/client/lib//libclntsh.so when searching for -lclntsh
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lclntsh
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

Thx As you told i followed the steps and Compiling issues is resolved and i had some other issue like oci8 extns was not visible in phpinfo.php and after Trial and error its started working.
The reason for oci8 not visible is i httpd-devel was not installed , after installing httpd-devel and recompiling with the following options oci8 was enabled.
./configure \
--with-oci8=instantclient,/opt/instantclient_10_2 \
prefix=/opt/php with-apxs2=/usr/sbin/apxs \
enable-sigchild with-config-file-path=/etc/httpd/conf

Dreamweaver CS6 PhoneGap build with Camera support for Android Device

I am trying to build a simple app that triggers the camera in my Samsung N7000 device.
I have built the app using Dreamweaver CS6 using the builting phonegap build support.
I am using the Windows version of Dreamweaver CS6.
When the app is built it shows no errors but when the app is installed on the device it does not trigger the camera.
I can not seem to get this very basic app to trigger the camera.
Any suggestions will be very much appreciated.

Cleaning wonky PHP installation

Hi!
i seem to have a problem with the PHP installation on my MacMini server running Tiger 10.4.11... I bought the mini about two years ago, and it came with the then standard php 4.4.9 within Apache 1.3.41. Some time after than I "upgraded" php to a 5.2.2 from entropy, but then I might have been careless and didn't properly uninstall the former version -- assumed it would be simply replaced...
Now, I've got these two parallel versions, and I get the feeling there might be some conflicts in what libraries are loaded. I've got a PHP script running flawlessly on a MacBook running Leopard 10.5.6 with php 5.2.6 and Apache 2.2.9. When I try to run it on the MacMini server, some things simply stop working, like e.g.:
- $argc and $argv are not set for scripts called within apache (registerargcargv is enabled in php.ini, and $_SERVER[ "argc" ] and $_SERVER[ "argv" ] are set, but on the MacBook both variables are set "autonomously")
- the regex expression "(*ANYCRLF)" (match any kind of newline character in a regex) isn't recognized, for a regex like /(*ANYCRLF)[\\r\\n]/ (needed to clean files that may contain mixes of CR, LF and CRLF) I get an error:
preg_replace(): Compilation failed: nothing to repeat at offset 1 in ....
I assume these have not been changed between php 5.2.2 and 5.2.6, so I can only assume there's another incompatibility somewhere.
I know the "right" (= 5.2.2) version of php is used by the Apache server -- phpinfo() reports the right configuration, and file +entropy-php.conf is included by httpd.conf and sets the right php5 module (/usr/local/php5/libphp5.so). Besides, I've tried to "clean" the installation by replacing the former php paths with links to the newer php installation directory (/usr/local/php5/), i.e.
/usr/bin/php -> /usr/local/php5/bin/php
/usr/include/php/ -> /usr/local/php5/include/php/
/usr/lib/php/ -> /usr/local/php5/lib/php/
although of course these shouldn't be needed at all. And still it doesn't work...
Does anyone have any idea what else I have to change in order for PHP to work properly? Or am I mistaken in thinking it's a conflict?
Can I actually run php5 in an Apache 1 server, or do I also have to update to Apache 2?
Would it be muuuuuuuuch easier to simply upgrade my server to Leopard, which includes newer versions of Apache and php as standards?

Need some suggestuon on Oracle 10g R2 installation with ASM and RAC option.
We have found many documents on the Oracle, HP, HP-Oracle CTC and third party web sites, but nothing that is specific to this particular combination of separate
ORACLE_HOMEs, ASM and 10g RAC CRS. It is unclear for me from the documentation how this combination of ASM and 10.2g RAC may best be installed.
The high level steps i got after reading lot of docs as follows - but i am not sure whether these are correct or not. if they are correct, can any one share their experience/notes please?
1) Install CRS
2) Install RDBMS for ASM HOME - create separater oracle home for ASM instance using OUI
3) Install RDBMS for RAC Database Home - create separater oracle home for RAC database using OUI
4) Create ASM database using DBCA -
5) Use dbca to create database.

Oracle provides 'paint by numbers' tutorials called 'Oracle By Example'. (Go to OTN, check under the Training tab)
They have one for a Windows based ASM/RAC that you might want to review. Not your specific environment, but the steps will be dag-nabbed close.
