Problem with NW04s SR2 installation with MS SQL Server 2000 SP4
Im struggling with the NW04s installation with MS SQL Server 2000.
The installation stops at the step Create/modify database schema SAPJ2EDB.

Hi All,
I was not able to solve the problem with MS SQL 2000, but I was able to resolve the issue with MS SQL 2005.
You have to chhose the following settings while instalation,
Service Account - Select one of the following options:
1) Use the built-in System account for each service and choose Local system or Network Service.
2) Use a domain user account, and enter the user name and password.
Under Start services at the end of setup make sure that SQL Server and SQL Server Agent are selected.
Authentication Mode
1) Select Mixed Mode (Windows Authentication and SQL Server Authentication).
This mode is required for a Java or ABAP+Java system.
If you choose this mode, you have to set the password for the sa login.
Note: The password for the sa login must comply with the Windows password policy.
Collation Settings
1) Select SQL collations (used for compatibility with previous versions of SQL Server).
2) From the drop-down list select Binary order based on code point comparison, for use with the 850 (Multilingual) Character Set.

I am usign my windows authentication usrname and password .
I has tried it with user "sa" but still same exception .
Could someone help me in this regard ?You need to switch SQL server to just use SQL Server authentication or both. The problem is that it is looking for a Windows NT account for nakhter with the password java. We get this all the time on new SQL Server installs if you just take the defaults.

I have a problem when using teststand database function with Microsoft sql server 2000. the error(seen in attached screenshot3.jpg) is:

The database function is OK now after I changed imported tables in SQL Sever.
Actually, I once tried anothor method that you refered by using the scripts
located at: <TestStand>\Components\NI\Models\TestStandModels\Database\SQL Server Create Generic Recordset Result Tables.sql. Attached is the error screenshots, please help me on this.

Problem of loading the Driver of MS SQL Server 2000
Is there anyone in the Sun Forum who will help me?
I have already tried to give the full class path of .jar files to the System and User Variables but received the same error. I am doing BCA and developing my very first Project on Java.
Please, tell me one thing. When I had installed MS SQL Server 2000 at my system first time then the 3 JAR files were present in the lib folder and all my codings of connectivity were working properly. Then due to some reasons, I had to format C drive and installed the MS SQL Server 2000 again then in the lib folder the 3 JAR files were not there. How it has happened? Then, I installed the downloaded driver of MS SQL Server 2000 for JDBC 1.4 then the JAR files were installed in the related downloaded driver folder. I manually copied them to the lib folder of MS SQL Server and gave that path to the Classpath of System and User Variables, but it didn't work.
I am not understanding the reason that The Software which worked previously is not working correctly in second time of installing.
I am using command line to develop my stand-alone project. Please help me.I have really no idea what in earth "the same error" is which you're talking about. Be specific. Post the exception type, message and stacktrace.

"Table Not Found" Error is coming.Later I Found that In stored procedure for certain conditions only this error comes.But I cant resolve it.

1. Rename the keydb.xml. For exmaple rename to keydb.xml_bak.
2. You can see the keydb.1.xml, keydb.2.xml, keydb.3.xml, keydb.4.xml, etc. in the same folder.
3. You choose the biggest or latest .xml file. For example, you choose the keydb.3.xml.
4. The choosen file, keydb.3.xml, rename keydb.xml
5. You can reinstall.

APPMSGARCH- Peopletools 8.44 SQL Server 2000 SP4
We are starting testing with the delivered application engine on our tools release 8.44.06 for FSCM. We have App Message data going back to Go Live which we manually deleted so that now we have just 4 months of Application Messages in our Test system.
We have run several tests using APPMSGARCH. Running just Cancelled messages which runs fairly fast, and the other with processes 'DONE' messages. DONE messages runs forever and with SQL Profiler open you don't see any statements running on the active SPID. We have inplemented the one fix GSC mentions but not much change.
Has anyone found this similar behaviour? We are going to try another run with tracing initiated, but it seems like something is either processing very slow or something is looping. Either way its running very inefficiently.
Appreciate insight160,000 messages to be archived is a lot. And it could run forever.
I have sometimes use some "workaround" to process a huge number number of messages.
What you could do is :
1. create a clone table of your message table
2. move the done messages into that table
3. insert into the real message table from the temp table by rows set of n rows (n = a reasonnable number, i.e. 2,000)
4. run the archivemsg process for these messages

SathiI don't know any betterer option, than to copy the database tabels redefining the Chinese data fields as nvarchar.
To be frank I had also problems writing to a html file Chinese text stored in MS SQLServer 2000 nvarchar fields.

Symptom
When running STM (SAP Tools for SQL Server) on the target server I get the following error:
- Errors when executing sql command: (Microsoft)(ODBC SQL Server Driver)(SQL Server)Could not find stored procedure u2018sap_use_var_MAXu2019.
Further Analysis
I'm able to start the SAP system.
Tx SICK returns the following:
- Wrong long datatypes. Perform SQL Server after upgrade steps. Please see note 126973
Troubleshooting

Solution:
Proceed as described in Note 1291861
Note 1291861 - SICK message: Wrong long datatypes
2. If the problem occurred following a system copy from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005 or later then execute the following statements:

Where 'sid' is the SAPSID of your system in lower case.

Msg 2812, Level 16, State 62, Line 2
Could not find stored procedure 'sap_use_var_MAX'.

I'm thinking if any one of you is able to access an SAP system on SQL Server (2005 or other) with the above mentioned stored procedure present you could scipt it to a txt file and post it here in order for me to create it manually on my system.
I've checked several SAP Notes on this subject and none of them explains how to create this store procedure from scratch, they all just assume it's already there and tell you to execute it.

- A friend of mine scripted it to a file which I then used to create the sap_use_var_MAX on the target database.

Mind you, you'll have to change <SID> and <sid> acoordingly, considering also if your db is dbo schema or sid schema owned!

SS2K_SYSLOGINS ORA-01401 using WB for SQL server 2000

I've read some threads on this issue on this forum but no solution to be found.
I noticed that the NAME field on the table SS2K_SYSLOGINS has been declared as varchar2(30) and is reading the SYSLOGINS views column NAME ( as declared sysname 128 ) on SQL server 2000.
This view (based on tabel sysxtypes) is not only containing SQL-logins but also domain users and domain groups ( like "domainxxx.com\SL-DAFEHV-DB-TorqueSupervisor-Admin"
These domain name sometimes are far over 30 characters in length !!!
I download the Migration Workbench ( 10.1.0.4.0 ) and some pluging today ( from http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/migration/workbench/index.html )and I'm running WB 10 and Ora 9.2 both on the same server.
How to solve this problem.
Please help me out.

I had to alter the SS2K_SYSINDEXES as well and had to set the columns FIRST, ROOT, and FIRTSIAM to allow 'null' !!!That is not logged either, which surprises me.
There was an assessment tool to give you an idea of the complexity of the migration that was used internally.

A) Within SQL server there are other pre-reserved words as within Oracle.I am not clear what you mean, is the parser failing on not handled reserved words like for example XML features?
B) It cannot handle hops to other databases within/on the same server ( almost the same as using other schema's within Oracle )Consolidation is one of the proposed features of the next release.
C) It cannot deal with the different authentication setup within SQL server 2000 ( databaselink.database.owner.objectname )Will note for future reference.
C2 ) Is it possible to capture related objects from different databases ( ora schema's ) when encoutering them during capture ( the master database has been queried during the capturing as well. . . ) ?You just choose which databases you want to capture the workbench does not work out what parts of database b are called by database a. temptablesTemptables in stored procedures are mapped to oracle temporary tables, whos structure is permanent but the data can be temporary: for example tied to the session. Unhandled temptables in particular situations are a bug.

I am using Crysta; Reports 8.5 with Visual Basic 6.0 and Sql Server 2000.
Report viewer is showing an error "Physical Database not found" when running at user's machine.
If i install the crystal reports, the reports shows perfect.
which are the files to be included for the deployment setup.
does anybody know how to solve this problem.
