Bind Exception must be thrown but not throwed

opening a seversocket for a second time in the same program must throw bindException or IOException but either of them is not thrown .
Its very Strange i need to know why this is not happening?

Untrue. A BindException is only thrown if you specify a non-zero port number which is already in use by a listening socket anywhere in the same host. It has nothing to do with 'the second time' or 'in the same program'.

  • 'exception thrown but not caught' error on the url iview

    Hi,
    EP6, we have url iview that is working fine for displaying a web application. but the problem is some of the link on the web application throws 'exception thrown but not caught' error. it happens to some of the users though.

    Hi Mokone
    I agree with Raghvendranath statement.
    This is not portal side problem.U just using URL of that application
    Also do this
    Open the URLiView editor and check the Fetch Mode property value.
        Launch the same URL in a new browser window (not in the portal).
        Change the URLiView Fetch Mode property from Server-Side to Client-Side.
        The iView is using the Server-side fetching mode but no proxy is defined for the portal
    Hope this info help you

    Hi Zakir,
    I am not sure but it would be nice if you can do following
    Try search ULS log with correlation id and find exact error and share here. If not able to find do following
    Or in catch block write
    Response.Write(ex.ToString());
    and check what exception its giving.

  • CMC: user must update save but not modify report with webi

    Hi experts,
    I'm on BO platform 4.0SP2 fp10.
    I would like to know if it is possible to enable a user a user to update data in a report, save report but disable it to modify report structure and query.
    In a folder the user must be able to update the report and prompt, then he must save it, but I don't want him to modify report with webi.
    Thanks
    Camillo

    Hi Frederique,
    By not modifying the report with WebI, do you mean that the user shouldn't have access to WebI Rich Client?
    What kind of update would the user have to do on a report once the report is available in a folder?
    Yes I mean user shouldn't ha access to webi rich client. He should just view update rint and updated report.

  • Dbms_job.submit - job is restarting but - not throwing any exceptions

    We have a job that is a simple loop that looks for (wakes up by) looking for messages coming in using DBMS_PIPE.
    The job has been restarting arbitrarily but - we're not seeing messages generated via any of the associated exception handlers.
    No idea why it's restarting when it fails.... currently - I'm just looking for a way to have the dbms_job.submit call NOT automatically restart if it has issues.
    Currently just calling as such:
    DBMS_JOB.submit(jobno, 'pkg_package.listen;');
    Running on 10.2.0.4.0
    Any insight is appreciated.
    Is there a way to prevent it from automatically restarting and - is there something I should be looking for specifically around dbms_job when it comes to the exception handling in the packages/procedures it's running??
    Thanks.

    We generate a log record in a table using an autonomous procedure when an exception is raised.
    Where I'm seeing the log records stating an issue with the job - I'm also seeing the tracefile / alerts being generated.
    When the job starts - we log a record stating it's started....
    In many instances - I'm seeing it log a start but - there's no corresponding trace file (i.e. - it wasn't manually started - it was processing and - then - without exception 'died' - didn't generate an error but - just started up again).
    I've no idea what's going on here. I've validated that everywhere through the underlying package the job is running that the exceptions are being logged. Yet - it's arbitrarily starting up again on some occassions (and - I can't seem to find any general commonality around when this is happening or - what would be causing it).
    So - I'm thinking this is an issue with the DBMS_JOB or - something else funky going on....
    As an FYI - This job is simply a loop that waits to receive a message on DBMS_PIPE that then fires off a package procedure when it receives the message.
    In the interim - to alleviate data issues as a result of it processing the same data twice - I'm trying to prevent it from auto restarting... is there a way to do this?

  • Flex mobile 4.6 app works inside flash builder but not in android emulator

    Originally posted on stackoverflow: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8663892/flex-mobile-4-6-app-works-inside-flash-builder- but-not-in-android-emulator
    I have a basic flex mobile 4.6 app and it works fully fine in the flash builder built-in emulator using an android device profile like aria...
    It also launches fine in the android emulator but one particular view shows blank (and this view works fine in flash builder).
    Before I get in to many details of the view are there any categorical gotchas that can be causing this?
    I can't seem to get the trace statements from the app to show in 'adb logcat'. It seems I need to compile a debug version of the apk but I don't know how to do this. I use the 'Export Release Build' from the Project menu in flash builder and it doesn't seem to have an option for debug=true.
    The problematic/blank view basically uses the stagewebview and iotashan's oauth library to call linkedin rest apis... A different (and working) view can make restful web service calls in the emulator fine, so it doesn't seem to be an internet permission.
    The source code contained in the problematic/blank view is almost identical to the tutorial found at:http://www.riagora.com/2011/01/air-and-linkedin/
    The differences are: a) The root tag is a View b) I use StageWebView instead of HtmlContainer c) I use my own linkedin key and tokens.
    I would appreciate it if someone can provide me with some pointers on how to troubleshoot this situation. Perhaps someone can tell me how to debug the app while running in the emulator (I think I need the correct adt command arguments for this which matches the 'Export Release Build' menu but adds the debug param?)
    Thanks for your help in advance.
    Comment Added:
    I suspect that this has to do with connections to https:// api.linkedin.com and https:// www.linkedin.com. The only reason I can think of that the same code is not having issues inside of Flex Builder but indeed having issues in the Android emulator is something to do with certificates. Any ideas?

    Thanks er453r,
    I have created a project that clearly reproduces the bug.  Here are the steps:
    1) Create a UrlLoader and point it to https://www.google.com (HTTPS is important because http works but HTTPS does not)
    2) Load it
    3) Run in Flash Builder 4.6/Air 3.1 and then run in Android emulator.  The former works with an http status 200.  The latter gives you an ioerror 2032.  I am assuming what works in Flash Builder is supposed to work in the Android Emulator and what what works in the emulator is supposed to work in a physical device (plus or minus boundary conditions).
    I see a certificate exception in adb logcat but not sure if it's related...
    Here is the self contained View code which works with a TabbedViewNavigatorApplication:

  • Exception logged but not thrown on invocation of webservice (BEA-000905)

    Using webservices.jar that comes with Weblogic SP3 and ant task clientgen to build the client, I got this warning on console:
    <14/Abr/2005 16H00m BST> <Warning> <Net> <BEA-000905> <Could not open connection with host: localhost and port: 7777.>
    Of course, weblogic is right, localhost:7777 is not listening, but the problem is that the application does not know this, since no exception is thrown. I'm catching for a Throwable and I get nothing. This is severe because I'm changing the state of some records in a DB table if the invocation of the webservice is OK, i.e., if no exception is thrown. But there really is a connection exception...
    Can anyone help?

    Just to clarify: the warning is logged when invoking a webservice and the target machine is down. I'm sniffing the communication through localhost:7777 (so this is the target machine for the invocation), and then it redirects the request to the machine where the webservice is hosted.
    I was expecting to catch an exception like IOException or RemoteException, or even a custom exception that I defined in the throws clause of the webservice method.

    Hi,
    are you using JPA or TopLink ? Check if there is another exception thrown that produces the error. You can try and catch (Exception ex), which will catch them all. if this works the obviously you don't catch the right exception
    I found a post saying that: "If you trying commit directly after persist w/o doing an explicit
    flush then OptimisticLocking Exception maybe nested inside
    RollBackException. What is the top most error on stack? You can catch
    javax.persistence.PersistenceException and try to do this kind of
    error translation
    public static void getThrowable(javax.persistence.PersistenceException
    perex, int code) {
    boolean updateError = false ;
    boolean deleteError = false ;
    KentException kentex = null ;
    Throwable th = null ;
    if( perex instanceof org.apache.openjpa.persistence.RollbackException) {
    th = perex.getCause();
    if(th instanceof OptimisticLockException) {
    updateError = true ;
    if(perex instanceof OptimisticLockException ){
    updateError = true ;
    th = perex ;
    if(perex instanceof org.apache.openjpa.persistence.EntityNotFoundException) {
    deleteError = true ;

  • Mutating table exception on trigger with After Insert but not with before

    Hi
    I need to maintain some constraint on the table to have only one row for values of the columns but not by primary key constraint.
    Because in case of primary key the insert would fail and the rest of the operation would be discontinued, I cannot change in the somponent that inserts the row so I have to prevent that on the table I have.
    I created a before insert trigger on the table which checks if any row exists in the table with same column values as the one being inserted. if found I delete the rows and let the insert happen (w/o raising any error). if the rows do not exist then the insert shall be continued.
    I read at place that modifying the dame table in the trigger body shall raise a mutating table exception, but I donot get the exception when the trigger is fired.
    Just when I change the trigger to after insert trigger then the nutating table exception is thrown.
    Is it the right behavior i.e. the Before insert trigger does not raise the exception and only after insert does that, since I could not find the example for before insert triggers throwing such exception so I think it is better to confirm it before finalizing the implementation.
    Thanks
    Sapan

    sapan wrote:
    Hi Tubby
    I cannot user unique constraint because that would raise an exception upon violation and the third party component that is inserting in the table would fail.
    That component does some other tasks as well after this insert and if an exception is raised then those tasks would not be performed.
    Also I cannot change the component to ignore this exception.Well then, you're in a bit of a pickle.
    I'm guessing the trigger you have been working on isn't "safe". By that i mean that it doesn't account for multi-user scenarios. You'll need to serialize access to the data elements in question and implement some sort of locking mechanism to ensure that only 1 session can work with those values.
    After you work out how to do that it sounds as though you would be better served using an INSTEAD OF trigger (you'd need to implement this on a view which is made off of your base table).
    Here's one way you can work on serializing access to your table on a relatively fine grained level (as opposed to locking the entire table).
    Re: possible to lock stored procedure so only one session may run it at a time?

    System.out.println("This year you " + (birthday.after(today) ?"will be " : "are " ) + age + " years old.");
    System.out.println("This year your birthday " + (today.before(birthday)? "will be": "was") + "on a " + weekdays[birthday.get(birthday.DAY_OF_WEEK)]);
    }

    The compiler error has to do with "Exceptions"
    "Exceptions" are things that might go wrong while the program is running. In this case, the user might type "ABC" when the program is trying to read a number using readInt. If the user does this, then that line of code will "throw" an "InvalidUserInputException".
    Your code must "handle" the exception. There are two ways to do this.
    Note that your code is part of a method, namely, the main method
    public static void main(String args[])
      int day = in.readInt(); // Exception might be thrown here
    }   // end of main methodThe first way to deal with the Exception is to decide that main will throw it. Already, readInt throws the Exception to main, now we will make main in turn throw the exception back to whatever called it.
    This can be done as follows. Note the change to the declaration of main.
    public static void main(String args[]) throws InvalidUserInputException
      int day = in.readInt(); // Exception might be thrown here
    }   // end of main methodThen your code should compile and run. This method is not recommended - if the user types in ABC, the program will crash with a cryptic error message.
    It is much better, if readInt throws the Exception, to have your code catch it. To do this, the code that might throw the exception must be contained in a try block, which must be followed by a catch block.
    public static void main(String args[])
      try {
        int day = in.readInt(); // Exception might be thrown here
      } // end of try block
      catch (InvalidUserInputException iue) {
        ... // code to handle the exception
    }   // end of main methodWhat this means is that java will "try" to perform the code in the try block, and if the user types ABC instead of a number, the InvalidUserInputException thrown by int day=in.readInt() will be "caught", and the code in the catch block will run. The code in the catch block can be anything you like. The most sensible thing to do would be to print some error message informing the user that they typed something wrong. Maybe something like:
       boolean done = false;
       int day,month,year;
       do {
          try {
             System.out.println("Enter your birth date as dd mm yyyy: ");
             day = in.readInt();      // line (1)
             month = in.readInt();    // line (2)
             year = in.readInt();     // line (3)
             done = true;             // line (4)
          catch (InvalidUserInputException iuie) {
             System.out.println("Are you trying to confuse me? I'm only a poor harmless computer! ");       // line (5)
             System.out.println("dd mm and yyyy must be numbers!");
        } while (!done);If an Exception is thrown on lines (1), (2) or (3), then line (4) will not be reached - instead, the program will run from line (5). Since done is still false, the program will loop back to ask for the birthdate again.
    If no exception is thrown, line (4) ensures that the loop will finish, and the catch block is skipped altogether.
    Hope that makes things clearer :-)

  • Application on Win7 64bit throws error -50103, but not on Win XP 32bit host

    LabVIEW application newly installed on Win7 64bit host throws error -50103.
    Same aplication deployed from same installation disk on Win XP 32bit host have been working for 2 years withourt problem.
    I did have a problem with importing the MAX configuration from the Win XP 32bit machine to the  Win 7 64bit machine.
    My solution was to install all the drivers from my most recent Devaloper Suite 2012 DVD.
    After that the executable did run fine, except when the variuos DAq tasks are executed for the second time in a loop it thows error -50103.
    If i click ok on the erro popup, everything else works fine until in the next pass of the loop I get the same error.
    Why would I get error on one host but not on the other one?
    How do I fix this?

  • Exception not throwing to action class in Unix environment

    Hi
    We are using Weblogic Server 9.2.3.0.
    One of our EJB is not throwing exception to calling Action class in Unix environment. Its working fine in Windows.
    Somehow the EJB is swallowing the exception.
    any idea? I suspect it may be environmental issue?
    thank you

    Thanx for your reply.. I just found a solution and would like to share that with you. There are some default request parameters passed by the portal to the action class. "strutsAction" is one of them. If you print this parameters, you will see that it contains the complete url of your action. Now you can use String manipulation to extract the value of the parameters.
    I know its a crude solution. But it works fine.
    Best regards,
    Omer

    After updating to Mavericks 10.9.2, our Canon printer would no longer scan & send to our iMacs & MacBook Pros. We downloaded & installed SMBUp. Still trying to get it to work with MacBookPros, but has been working with iMacs. Today, out of the blue, I got the following error message:
    An exception of class JSONException was not handled. The application must shut down.
    Exception Message: Parse Error: Expecting "{" or "[" at position 1

    Now I get that message every time I try to open SMBUp. Tried to download & reinstall application, but get this message on website:
    Hmm, eduo.info isn't loading right now.
    The servers that run eduo.info are having some trouble. This is usually just a tempoary problem, so you might want to try again in a few minutes.
    (Have gotten that message for the last hour).
    Help?
