Bind radio group to table with ADF

Hi,
I've managed to bind a drop down list to a table as follows :
<label for="cardtype">Card Type:*</label>
<select name="cardtype" class="input-box">
<c:forEach var="Row" items="${bindings.cardtype1.rangeSet}" >
<option value="<c:out value='${Row.RvMeaning}'/>">
<c:out value="${Row.RvMeaning}"/>
</option>
</c:forEach>
</select>
The binding is solely for display purposes as the user selection is not stored in the database.
I am unable to do a similar bind for a radio group(display purposes only)
Can anyone help ?

No idea if anyone ever will read this reply, but I'm a dummy and I did spend a day to implement a radio group (radiogroup) with ADF and a common JSP. UIX of course offer more flexibility and possibilities!
I did create a View Object secting values that could be displayed in a LOV. Test this first in order to test the data binding beteen the View Object and the attribuut (here gender) Then remove the LOV and drop the attribuut in your Form as radio group. The iterator created a radio 'box' for each record in the list, here M(ale)/F(emale)/B(oth). The radio group will be used to select the gender that should be searched on a dating site, displaying the gender in multiple languages! That's why fmt:message instead of bean:message was used. Value 'label.gender.${rv.prompt}' will be transformed into:
label.gender.M OR label.gender.F OR label.gender.B
The properties contain the labels in English, Dutch etc.... It should be possible to use a Static list as wel to store the domain values related to your radio group.
<td>
<c:out value="${bindings['Gender2'].label}"/>
</td>
<td>
<c:forEach var="rv" items="${bindings.DCLOVList.displayData}">
<html:radio idName="rv" property="DCLOVList" value="index"/>
<fmt:setBundle basename="view.ApplicationResources"/>
<fmt:message key="label.gender.${rv.prompt}"/>
</c:forEach>
</td>

  • Can we bind a single external table with multiple files in OWB 11g?

    Hi,
    I wanted to ask if it is possible to bind an external table with multiple source files at same or different locations? Or an external table has to be bound to a single source file and a single location.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ann.

    Hi Ann,
    Can you please help me out by telling me the steps to accomplish this. Right click on the external table in project tree, from the menu choose Configure,
    then in opened Configuration Properties dialog window right clock on Data Files node and choose from menu Create -
    you will get new record for file - specify Data File Name property

  • How to create dynamic data tables with ADF 10g

    Hi,
    Can anyone provide sample code for creating dynamic data table in adf where column & row will be added dynamically according to the data coming from the Array List of data.

  • JDEV 10.1.3: Using "Create" binding on BC view object with ADF Faces Table

    Hello,
    I am trying to get this to work, but to no avail:
    I've got a very simple page (ADF Faces - JSPX) created by dragging an iterator from the data control pallete on to my page and picking "ADF Table..." as my chose to create. This creates a table on my page that allows me to edit each row in place. Very nice.
    Now, I dragged the create operation for that iterator on to the page. What I had hoped to see is that when I click "Create," a new blank row appears in my table (well, at least a row that is blank except for any default values specified in the EO/VO and my overriden create() method).
    However, this doesn't happen. The page submits and refreshes, but no blank row shows up. I initially tried setting the Create button to do partial submit and setting the partialtriggers for the table to include the Create button, to no avail. I also tried it without the partial submit with the same results.
    So:
    1). Should this work, or is this behavior a bug.?
    2). If not, is there a different/better way of doing it?
    Regards,
    John

    G'day John
    I think I can give you a hint of what is occuring... I'm still trying to work out what is happening exactly.
    In JDev 10.1.2 UIX, when the user invoked the create action, they would see the blank record added to the underlying table. Under 10.1.3 Faces the functionality is somewhat different.
    When you the user clicks on the create action a blank record is created but not shown in the table control. To prove the blank record is there try this:
    1) Build an ADF Input Form based on the same VO iterator
    2) In your JSF navigation, create a navigation case between the existing page and the new page, and another back again,
    3) In the existing page, map the Create button's action attribute to navigate to the ADF Input Form
    4) In the ADF Input Form, map the Submit button's action attribute to navigate to the ADF Table page.
    Now when you run your app, notice when you create a new record in the ADF Table which automatically takes you to the ADF Input Form, note the blank record, and the details you enter into the record here and submit, are then visible in the ADF Table on the return.
    This is a long way of proving that the new record is in the table. It's just you can't see it.
    I have a theory which I'm trawling through the newly updated documentation to verify. This issues goes back to the VO createRow vs insertRow method calls that have been documented by Steve Muench a couple of times. I'm guessing the table control is now smarter and doesn't show createRow records, only insertRow records.
    Read one of Steve's posts here regards the createRow vs insertRow method calls:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/tips/muench/blankrow/index.html
    If I find anymore info I'll endeavour to post it.
    Meanwhile this of course doesn't help you if you actually want to show the blank row in the ADF Table editable control, but I'd thought I'd give you an idea of what's happening behind the scenes.
    Hope this helps.

  • Binding Checkbox Group to Context with Dictionary Enum (WD for Java)

    Hello,
    I see no examples in the documentation of binding a Checkbox Group to a context attribute that references a dictionary type with an enumeration. When I do so in NDS, it shows the checkboxes in the layout together with the values defined in the type's enumeration. However, when running the application, nothing comes up.
    Any ideas or examples would be most welcome.
    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hi Armin,
    Thanks for the reply. I see now that I based my question on an incorrect assumption: I thought at runtime that the WebDynpro runtime populates the node with attribute nodes representing the values in an enumeration, if the attribute references a dictionary enumeration I see now that this is not the case.
    (My theory was that if these elements are there, a selection of checkboxes should be obtainable by querying the relevant node in the context).
    However, I still think there is a need for a checkbox group UI element that you can map to an attribute which in turn references a dictionary element with an enumeration, on the one hand to be consistent with the design of the other UI elements in WebDynpro, and also to make it easier for developers to produce such components, so that checkbox options don't have to be coded in a checkbox group.
    What I'm proposing is that a UI element is needed representing a checkbox group, in which you can reference a dictionary type with enumeration, such that either:
    1. The runtime populates attribute nodes in a node in the context with all the available values in the enumeration, and the selected values can be queried at runtime.
    OR
    2. Depending on the selection, attribute nodes are created inside the node in the context, one for each selected value.
    Just to clear up any confusion: I'm not trying to make the existing CheckBoxGroup element do this. I understand this is not possible. That is why I'm saying a new element is needed that can provide this functionality.
    Does this make sense?
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Dynamic action on radio group in tabular form

    Hi,
    I'm very new to APEX and I've tried searching the web, but I can't seem to find a good answer for my problem. I have a page in APEX with a tabular form with 6 columns. The last column is supposed to show/hide a button for each row based on the value of a radio group (static LOV) with 2 options in column 5. I want to do this with a dynamic action on the radio group, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to do this. Since the radio group is in a tabular form it's not an item and so I can't just select it in the dynamic action wizard. I figure I have to use a JQuery selector here, but my knowledge of this is very limited.
    I've created the button in the select statement for the tabular form like this:
    select
    "ROWID",
    "DATA_COLLECTION_ID",
    "ID",
    "VARIABLE_NO",
    "VARIABLE_NAME",
    "DATA_TYPE",
    '<a href="javascript:epf.dialog.open(''f?p=&APP_ID.:18:&SESSION.::::P18_ROWID,P18_ID:'||ROWID||','||ID||''',800,700);" id="Category" class="epf-button"><span class="epf-tooltip" data-epf-tooltip="Definer kategorier for denne variabelen"></span>Definer Kategori</a>' category
    from "MATH_USER"."STA_VARIABLES"
    where "DATA_COLLECTION_ID" = :P17_IDAny help would be greatly appreciated.

    You must make the jquery selector based on column name (inspect your column using firebug/chrome and see the name attribute of the column form element, it will in format f0x).
    Look at my original code below and i am controlling a column with name f01

    It still doesn't work for me. From what I understood from the "Incorporating JavaScript into an application" page I should put the code in the JavaScript section. I tried that too, but nothing changed. So now I'm thinking there is something wrong with the code itself?
    YES
    this is my original code
    function test(pThis) {
    //get the curren row index on change
    var currIndex = $('select[name="'+pThis.name+'"]').index(pThis);
    if (pThis.value=='20') {

  • Radio group with URL for image in a table

    I'm trying to display some text and an image for a radio group so the form looks like
    (*) text for item 1 {image for item 1}
    ( ) text for item 2 {image for item 2}
    ( ) text for item 3 {image for item 3}
    I've found these:
    Re: Is it possible to display an image instead of button in a radio group?
    How to show image in radio group ?
    It looks like all I have to do is create a LOV that looks like:
    SELECT {complex stuff that generates the text string, img tag, and URL for image}
      ,DB_PK
    FROM dynamic_view_for_lov -- public synonym
    But, my images are stored in a table.
    I have been able to create an IR using the "Column Format=BLOB" method.
    The SQL for the report looks like:
    select
      db_pk, display_text, image_len, image_clob
    from dynamic_view_for_lov -- public synonym
    And the Number/Date Format for the IMAGE_LEN column is:
    IMAGE:DYNAMIC_VIEW_FOR_LOV:IMAGE_BLOB:DB_PK::::::Inline:Download
    My question:  How do I create the URL for the img tag for the LOV?
    many thanks

    For the person in the future, you have to 'fake create' the Automated Row Fetch process.
    The get_blob_file_src gets all the information from that Process and the column name of the Item Type that is on the same page.
    I forgot where I read about that trick.
    Basically, you create the Automated Row Fetch process, then 'disable' it.
    Same thing with the required Item Type.  Create it as a "File Type", just to tell APEX that it comes from a Database Column,.... then change it to a 'hidden' type.
    You don't have to "fake' it if the application already contains the file upload item and ARF. The assumption is that the application will contain these components in order to maintain the BLOBs and you'll just reference the functional ones.

  • Manual Data binding with ADF table?

    Hi,
    I am making a stored procedure call for fetching data from database on the click of action button. My query has a where clause in it. I am not able to bind my adf table manually with my data control. Can anyone provide me some link for binding my ADF table with data control manually? My requirement is like : - I have one table in which I am displaying data in ADF table. I want to display data in another table on click of some id in the coulmn of first table.

    You basically have two options - you can choose to use ADF Binding - and have your Java class return a collection - then you just right click the class to expose it as an ADF Data control.
    Or if you rather not use ADF Binding, then you'll need to have a managed bean that returns a collection and you can use "regular" JSF binding to bind the table to it.
    The second option is shown in the ADF Faces Components demo: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/adf/adffaces/11/doc/demo/adf_faces_rc_demo.html

  • ADF 11g Row Selection in a Table with radio button

    Hi there,
    I need to select one row with a radio button and then take some action on those rows via command buttons.
    I need to use a Radio Button and not the table property rowSelection provided with the latest features of ADF 11g.
    In ADF 10g you can use tableSelectOne component that missing in 11g. How you can implement that with ADF 11g?
    Regards, Alex

    Well, ADF 11g doesn't have that capability, so you have to build it yourself. If don't want to build it yourself, you could use the Trinidad components instead of ADF 11g. If you don't want either of those options, then sorry :)

  • How to bind ADF table with a collection of elements using backing bean.

    Hi Experts,
    My JDev version is 11.1.1.6.0.
    I need to bind ADF table with a collection of elements using backing bean.
    My backing bean consists of 6 lists of strings, where each list represents a column of table. How can I populate the entries of table with these lists.
    Thanks
    Gopi

    Hi,
    Create an object representing the row (setter/getter). Then have a list of these objects. Drag and drop the table and point its value to the list and the type to the row object

  • Problem with adf table when adding component in table column.

    Hi All,
    i am using jdev version 11.1.1.5.0.
    use case: i have created one adf table which is based on DC VO. now i have added one select one radio group component(which contain 4 radio button approved ,reject,back,None) in adf table.
    table have many rows for example in first row i have select approved and to next row i have select reject now when i get value of radio group in backing bean using component binding i got last selected value.(in that case reject).
    And second is that when i set radio button value for current row using binding like
    rb.setValue("R") then reject option selected for all rows.
    so my question is that-
    how can i get and set value of select one radio group in row level using component binding.

    Hi,
    I don't see a reason for not using a transient attribute for the radioGroup in your previous reply.
    Here is the example i tried.
                            <af:selectOneRadio label="#{bindings.DeptView1.hints.DeptnoRadio.label}" id="sor1"
                                    value="#{row.bindings.DeptnoRadio.inputValue}">
                                <af:selectItem label="A" value="A" id="si1"/>
                                <af:selectItem label="B" value="B" id="si2"/>
                                <af:selectItem label="C" value="C" id="si3"/>
                                <af:selectItem label="D" value="D" id="si4"/>
                                <af:selectItem label="E" value="E" id="si5" disabled="#{row.bindings.EnableDisable.inputValue}"/>
                            </af:selectOneRadio>Where DeptnoRadio is the transient attribute i've created (which will have some random values between A and E), and EnableDisable is another transient variable of boolean type which would return true or false based on some condition.
    Now, for every row, the value is different (and corresponding radio button is selected) and for a row, which matches the condition, the option E is disabled.

  • Issues with the Radio Group and interactive report

    Hi,
    I have an interactive report that shows customer names and associated revenues... I want my users to be able to filter customer list by Province and by City in a way that when the user select a province then only associated cities show up (driven by a table)... for the filtration I am using 2 Radio Group items (one for Provinces and the other one for Cities)
    Everything is working fine, except for the fact that when I select a province (let's say Prov A) and then select a city (let's say City A1) and again when I select another Province (let's say Prov B) I get the list of all cities associated to Prov B + city A1... Not sure why my previous selection of City is showing up with the list of new cities when I change the province... I SHOULD BE ABLE TO REST ALL CITIES WHEN A NEW PROVINCE IS SELECTED
    here is the code
    For interactive report
    select     CUSTOMER_NAME,
         SUM(YTD) AS YTD
    from     T_TABLEA
    where
    (PROVINCE=
    CASE
    when :P2_PROV = 'All' THEN PROVINCE
    ELSE :P2_PROV
    END
    and
    (CITY=
    CASE
    when :P2_CITY = 'All' THEN CITY
    ELSE :P2_CITY
    END
    GROUP BY CUSTOMER_NAME
    For Province Radio Group I am using a static list:
    STATIC2:All;All,Alberta;AB,Ontario;ON,Quebec;PQ,British Columbia;BC
    For City, I am using a dynamic list using following code:
    select 'All', 'All' return from dual
    union
    select distinct INITCAP(CITY) display_value, CITY return_value
    from T_TABLEA
    where
    Province = :P2_PROV
    order by 1
    Thanks

    Check the session state of items P2_PROV and *:P2_CITY* when the issue occurs and run the LOV query separately with the session state values.
    If that too fetches it wrongly, then you would need to change your query.

  • Dynamic region table with binding problem

    Hi. I'm using jdev 11.1.1.3 and ADF full stack.
    My app uses single page approach with ADF libraries and a dynamic region to show content. Main page includes a menu bar which is created on session startup and is used to load task flows from libraries.
    I have a class to provide some table functionality like CRUD, multi-row delete, etc and I need to reuse with every table included in libraries.
    To do this, in main web app I have a managed bean to hold table binding and to provide this common functions to all fragments if needed.
    I think it must be in request scope as fragment changes.
    Here's the problem: when I navigate to a fragment which contains a table with binding, first time goes well,
    but next time table, when fragment changes,new table displays without header or without data.
    If I go to another fragment without binding and return to a fragment with problem, it displays well. With fragments without table binding, it works OK.
    I've tried changing scope of this 'general' managed bean, but same thing. If I put a bean for each fragment, it works OK.
    So, how can I 'share' this managed bean through every table? Any suggestions? is it possible?
    Please, help me ....
    Thanks,
    DEMR.

    I am seeing a similar problem in my app. I have a main menu that drives a dynamic region. If the task flow that gets displayed in the dynamic region also contains a dynamic region, when the inner dynamic region is refreshed to point to a second task flow, the page does not render correctly. The errors we have seen include data in tables not being displayed in some cases, and PPR errors in other cases. In both cases, if the inner dynamic region is replaced (by a single bounded task flow with navigation logic in a template, for example) the errors go away.
