Binding between SP2013 & Office WebApps 2013 failing

Hi everyone,
I'm having a bit of an issue that I'm hoping someone can help me with.
I am currently running a SharePoint 2013 Server farm on Server 2012. I'm trying to get my office web apps server up and running and bind it to my SharePoint server. The OWA server is a Server 2012 server and only has OWA installed on it.
My SP2013 deployment is running with HTTP and when I setup OWA for the first time I set it up with http as well and all worked great. I then removed the web apps and started setting up OWA to run with HTTPS to allow for our new Lync and Exchange setups and
to also allow my users to use Web Apps at home.
I followed the directions laid out by MSFT, purchased a Certificate from a trusted provider and got the Web Apps server running. The setup went fine and when I navigate to the
https://ServerName/hosting/discovery address it brings up the XML as I would expect to see it.
Thinking that everything is ok I then moved over to the SP2013 server. I opened SP2013 Management Shell and entered the following PS:
New-SPWOPIBinding -ServerName <servername.Domain.internal>
The script immediately returned the result:
I then jumped online and started checking possible causes. I found a few posts regarding WOPI Binding, but none seem to fix my issue.
I have:
Restarted both servers
Restarted IIS on the Web Apps Server
Added the site URL to the IIS Binding
I checked the ULS entry logs and found "An operation failed because the following certificate has validation errors:" I then referred back to the certificates on the Web Apps server. The certificate came through from the provider as 4 separate
certs I installed one which completed the original request, added the trustedexternalCARoot cert to the Trusted Root Certification Authorities this leaves me with two certs an SSLCA cert and a UTNAddTrustServer cert which I have not install anywhere, I can
only presume that these are the possible cause for my issue but there doesn't appear to be any documentation that I can find that tells me if they are having an effect or not.
I'd be really grateful for any help or information I can get at the moment, I'm not a certificates person so anything on that side may take me a while to work out.
Many thanks in advance
Neil
Don't forget to mark the answer that resolves your request as 'The Answer' so others may benefit from the resolution.

Hi  Neil,
According to your error message, it says that the Office Web Apps Server did not respond. Have you configured the windows firewall  for office web apps traffic?
In the Inbound Rules area, ensure that the server allows connections on port 80 (HTTP) and port 443 (HTTPS). Add the port for the Office Web Apps inter-farm communication by following these steps:
In the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security window, click Inbound Rules.
In the Actions panel, click New rule…
In the New Inbound Rule Wizard window, select Ports as the Rule Type and clickNext.
Select TCP and enter “809” for the Specific local ports. Click Next.
Click Next. On the Profile screen, uncheck Public and click Next.
On the Name screen, enter “Office Web Apps Inter-Farm Communication” and click
Finish.

  • Microsoft office professional 2013 encountered an error during setup

    Trying to install the 32 bit version of Office 2013.  Planning to keep all my old versions.  I have Access 2002 and 2003 that I need.  Was not installing Outlook 2013 as Outlook 2010 is the only Office app that I care if I have issues with
    and my IT dept controls a a bit more.  Getting the error "microsoft office professional 2013 encountered an error during setup" with no other info.  I have Windows 7, full admin rights, and closed all other Office apps.  I Just did a restart
    which also installed all current Windows patches.  Got the same error.
    Any ideas or where to look for the cause?

    I am having the same problem and am dead in the water.
    Just in case one of the suggestions might have worked, I went through all of those above with no luck.  At first the issue was that the preview version of the OSE was left behind by the uninstall, but I replaced it with the 2010 version, no dice.
    I then uninstalled all office products to get the OSE uninstalled, and setup now gets beyond that hangup, but still fails.  Following is the section of the log with the errors (MS email me for the full log):

  • Office Pro 2013 installing in wrong language

    I started downloading Office Pro 2013 and the screens are in French.  I did not continue the download, but I cannot figure out how to re-start it in English.

    Hi,
    How did you download Office Pro 2013?
    If you are downloading Office from MY account page, you will have an option to choose
    Language and install options to change the language and choose between the 32-bit and 64-bit version of Office:
    https://office.microsoft.com/MyAccount.aspx
    If you are downloading Office using Office Deployment Tool (ODT), you can specify Language ID="en-us" in the Click-To-Run Configuration.xml file. For example:
    <Configuration>
      <Add SourcePath="\\server\share" OfficeClientEdition="32">
       <Product ID="O365ProPlusRetail" >
         <Language ID="en-us" />
       </Product>
      </Add>
    </Configuration>

  • Office pro 2013 download: setup.exe "module could not be found"

    Have downloaded Microsoft Office Professional 2013 4 times. Takes about 7 minutes. Then when I click on setup.exe, the computer (windows 8.1) asks if I want to let Microsoft make changes to my computer (this is normal for a software download). I say yes
    and I get a popup that says "the specified module could not be found". You have other threads with this same notation but none seem to be with a software download so I am starting a new thread.
    This was downloaded from Microsoft Volume Licensing.  There was a note that I would need to download the Microsoft webapps something or other and I tried downloading that as well, but the download name was the same as the other download, and the
    outcome and resulting error message also were the same.
    Concerned because no where was I asked for any license key or setup key or anything else.
    Any advice would be greatl welcomed.
    Thank you

    Hi,
    A similar issue is addressed here, you can follow SpeakPeace’s reply to check if helpful.
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2013_release-office_install/the-specified-module-could-not-be-found/92971d00-b54a-435d-829c-8b8d651f70c4
    When you download Office 2013 from the Volume License Service Center, it comes down as .ISO files.
    .ISO is not a file format that Windows can open natively.
    There are several possible options you can use to install the software:
    Use .ISO image file software to download and save the .ISO image file to a CD-R or a DVD-R.
    Virtually mount and access ISO files as a virtual device.
    Extract the .ISO files to your hard drive.
    For more detail reference:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/odsupport/archive/2011/04/19/how-to-extract-the-contents-from-an-iso-file-without-burning-the-iso-to-disc.aspx
    You can run setup.exe as administrator then try the install.
    Feel free to post back.

  • Differences between SharePoint 2007 and 2013 security options?

    Hi,
    We just did a test upgrade from Sharepoint 2007 to Sharepoint 2013 by copying over the content database. One thing we are noticing is that users who had permissions to upload to a document library no longer have that option in 2013. Is there a difference
    between the 2007 and 2013 "contribute" permission?
    What can I do to fix this issue?
    thanks,

    their is no difference between 2007 & 2013 for Contribute premission.
    Contribute having the same rights in 2007 and 2010.

  • Office Professional 2013 on Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials

    I installed Office Professional 2013 using emailed key - AAA-02768  * KEY ONLY EMAIL * Any attempt to run the installed software reports "
    Must have Volume Licence edition of Office"  I downloaded volume licence pack and get told my OS is not a VL edition.  What do I need to get Office 2013 running on this server?  One person will remote desktop into it, I purchased 5 RD licence
    as I was told this was essential.  I tried one solution downloading a trial, install from Install Application on Remote Desktop but that reported invalid key.  Can it run?  I know it is mainly a server, not a workstation, but surely Office can
    run on it.

    Hi Michelle,
    Where did you download the volume license edition of Office 2013? At what exactly point did you get the "OS is not a VL edition" message?
    Generally, to install Office 2013 on a server with RDS, you must have a volume license and you must use Office Professional Plus 2013 from the
    Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC).
    For more information about the volume licensing for your situation, you should contact your local reseller or Microsoft partner.

    It's recommended to download and install
    Configuration Analyzer Tool (OffCAT), which is developed by Microsoft Support teams. Once the tool is installed, you can run it at any time to scan for hundreds of known issues in Office

    I am going to buy either a Mac Air or Mac Pro Retina 8GB RAM and 256GB. And as I have to still run Windows programs I will install Parallels 9. As the Mac are both 64bit machines does that mean I need to install Windows 7 64bit or just install 32 bit? (Going with Win7 as I hate Win8). And I will install Office Pro 2013 64 bit too or 32 bit or is that automatically selected by the underlying OS (I use Word, Excel and Access mainly for a membership database of a local club) ? I am not a power user so would appreciate advice on way to go

    Again thank you.  If I only use word, excel and access in the Win environment and Mac OS for email and safari for internet do I need anti virus software . Ie my connection to the world is mac only and I use office pro only to ruin the club, newsletters, membership database etc. and of course anything I do there can drag/drop to the mac environ to email.  That's my understanding anyway.  Next will my existing .pst file copy directly into mac mail or do I have to runs translator  as I recall reading something about that ages ago when I started thinking Mac

  • How to make sure Office 365 (2013) Pro Plus click to run updates after it is installed on a computer

    We are getting ready to move from Office 2010 MSI to Office 365 (2013) click to run ProPlus.  Everything is ready to uninstall and install the new product.
    My question is if the Updates Enabled="TRUE" is not in the configuration.xml file will machines with the click to run office 365 pull updates from the cloud?  I had been told that the Enabled=TRUE is not needed in the configuration file as
    it is a default setting.  We want our machines to pull down updates from the cloud in place of providing a manual update location on our network.
    Our configuration.xml file looks like this:
    <Configuration>
        <Add SourcePath="\\Server\Share" OfficeClientEdition="32" ForceDowngrade="TRUE" >
        <Product ID="O365ProPlusRetail">

      <Logging Name="OfficeSetup.txt" Path="C:\temp" />
      <Property Name="AUTOACTIVATE" Value="0" FORCEAPPSHUTDOWN="TRUE" />
    </Configuration>
    Thanks,
    Brit

    I am trying more to control the process via GPO with a start-up script and have created a batch file which executes the below command. It works and installs which ever version you define in your .xml file, the only issue i am facing is that re-runs the setup
    at each reboot which isn't ideal. I am currently working on below script which could check the version of the office upon boot-up and only run if the specific version is not available. I have pasted the script right at the bottom of the page and if anyone
    could shed some light in making it to read the version value
    "\\server\c2r\Office365 update\setup.exe" /configure "\\server\c2r\Office365 update\Customconfign.xml" (this is the batch-file used as a startup script)
    PLEASE NOTE: There are three <Add SourcePath in my Cutomconfig.xml and not all three are required I use the one i need by taking the <!-- and --> from the beginning and the end  of each line
    <Configuration>
    <!-- <Add SourcePath="\\Server\Share\" OfficeClientEdition="32" > --> Can only be used to download latest version of ofice365 (specify sourcepath)

    If the problem would be gone when you disable all add-ins, we can try to enable the add-ins one by one until we find the problematic add-ins.

  • How can I set the data binding between Web Dynpro & Database table

    Dear friend,
    I am a beginner of Web Dynpro. I want to develop my simple project like these:
    1. Create my own database table via Dictionary Project such as TAB_USER and have 3 fields: USER_ID, USER_NAME, USER_POSITION and I have already deployed & archived it.
    2. Create my own Web Dynpro Project, and create the input fields as User ID, User name, User position and icon 'Save' on the selection screen and I have deployed it already.
    For the process, I want to input data at the screen and save the data in the table, please give me the guide line like these:
    1. How can I set the data binding between Web Dynpro and Database table ?
    2.  Are there any nescessary steps that I will concern for this case?
    Sorry if my question is simple, I had try  to find solution myself, but it not found
    Thanks in advances,
    SeMs

    Hi,
    You can write your own connection class for establishing the connection with DB.
    Ex:
    public class  ConnectionClass {
    static Connection con = null;
    public static Connection getConnection() {
    try{
    Context ctx = new InitialContext();
    DataSource ds = (DataSource) ctx.lookup("jdbc/TSPAGE");
    con = ds.getConnection();
    return con;
    }catch(Exception e){
    return null;
    You can place the above class file in src folder and you can use this class in webdynpro.
    You can have another UserInfo class for reading and writing the data into the DB .

  • Is Adobe Acrobat 9.5.5 Incompatible With Microsoft Office Pro 2013?

    I have Adobe Acrobat 9.5.5 and recently upgraded from Microsoft Office Pro 2007 to 2013. I no longer have the option to save e-mails to PDF format. When I go into Outlook> File> Options> Add-Ins> Manage COM Add-Ins and place a check mark next to PDFM Outlook, I get "Load Behavior: Not loaded. A run time error occurred during the loading of the COM add-in." Does this indicate that Acrobat 9.5.5 is not compatible with Office Pro 2013?

    Hi there p-eleven,
    Support for Office 2013 was first added with the Acrobat 11.0.1 update. Please see http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/compatible-web-browsers-pdfmaker-applications.html

  • Unable to completely install Office Pro 2013 in Windows 8.1

    I had Windows 8 on my computer and purchased Office Pro 2013 and tried to install it. It completed part way and then it kept asking me for a password. Then it displayed the Letters and numbers I was to retype and tried that 4 times with no avail. To make
    a long story short I never was able to install Office completely. I have none of the programs such as Word, etc. What should I do?

    Hi
    What did you mean by asking for password? Were you saying the product key code?
    Multiple versions of Office installed in one computer can cause unexpected problems, we recommend you completely remove your old suites in your machine:

  • I've uninstalled Office Student 2013, but how do re-install it?

    I had gotten Office Student 2013 the same day I got a new laptop. With excitement and hopes of enjoying my new device to the fullest, I installed Office to later find out I was really disappointed and let down by the performance of this new laptop. Before
    going to the store, I uninstalled Office with the mind set of re-installing it to the laptop I wanted. Now that I am officially satisfied with a laptop, I am unsatisfied with Office. It will not let me re-install Office Student. I had thought that if Office
    was under my account, it would have been okay to sign in to another laptop and install it there, but that's not the case. I would really like to know if there's anyway to get Office back to my laptop, or if I have to go out and spend another 100 bucks for
    a product I've already paid. (The Office I bought came in a card, were you put the number from the back of the card to the wizard installing office).

    Hi,
    if you're unable to "transfer" your Office installation/license onto your new PC, by using your MS account,
    www.office.com/myaccount
    this article may help (you may need to use telephone activation, and may need to speak to MS Customer Service & Support)
