Binding breaks with using transitions

I'm rather green to the whole Flex world, so please be
gentle. It's a distinct possibility that I'm overlooking something
very simple.
I have a client that uses a graphical icon to represent its
connectivity to my Java server over an XMLSocket. When the client
reconnects the expected behavior is that this icon will fade away,
and then fade back in.
Here is the image tag:
<mx:Image source="@Embed('assets/loggedin.png')"
visible="{model.loggedIn}" toolTip="Logged In"
showEffect="{fadeIn}" hideEffect="{fadeOut}"/>
Here are the transitions:
<mx:Fade id="fadeOut" duration="600" alphaFrom="1.0"
alphaTo="0.0"/>
<mx:Fade id="fadeIn" duration="600" alphaFrom="0.0"
alphaTo="1.0"/>
Under most circumstances this image behaves as expected: it
fades to visibility when I log in, and fades out when I disconnect.
The problem I run into is when I reconnect (which sets the bound
value to false and then back before the transition has completed,
the image will remain invisible.
My instinct tells me that it's getting set to false which
begins the transition and then being set back to true before the
transition has expired. Rather than queuing up the next transition
it seems to just skip it.
Is there a way to either interrupt the transition if the
binding changes during the transition, or even better, to queue it
up so that when it's done the transition it will then begin the
next transition if the state of the image doesn't accurately
reflect the current bound value?
Thanks!

Couldn't you just create the transition you want in its own movie, export as dv then import the clip and use the paste over function again?

  • Using bind variable with IN clause

    My application runs a limited number of straight up queries (no stored procs) using ODP.NET. For the most part, I'm able to use bind variables to help with query caching, etc... but I'm at a loss as to how to use bind variables with IN clauses. Basically, I'm looking for something like this:
    int objectId = 123;
    string[] listOfValues = { "a", "b", "c"};
    OracleCommand command = new OracleCommand();
    command.Connection = conn;
    command.BindByName = true;
    command.CommandText = @"select blah from mytable where objectId = :objectId and somevalue in (:listOfValues)";
    command.Parameters.Add("objectId", objectId);
    command.Parameters.Add("listOfValues", listOfValues);
    I haven't had much luck yet using an array as a bind variable. Do I need to pass it in as a PL/SQL associative array? Cast the values to a TABLE?

    Why are you using dynamic SQL statements? Why not just use something like this instead in your PL/SQL. I also replaced the leading // in your Xpath with just / since you start from the root node.
    select *
      INTO l_dummy
      from xmltable(XMLNAMESPACES('http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema' AS "XSD", default 'http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/'),
                    '/definitions/types/XSD:schema/XSD:element'
                    passing xmltype(l_xml)
                    columns
                    ab xmltype path '.' ) t;Also, the above returns two rows, which I suspect is not what you want. Here is the pure SQL version for you to debug.
    select *
      from xmltable(XMLNAMESPACES('http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema' AS "XSD", default 'http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/'),

  • XSQL Using bind params with sql LIKE clause

    I am unable to use a bind-param with the LIKE clause in a SELECT statement.
    eg call .../temp.xsql?name=N
    XSQL query is this:
    <xsql:query max-rows="-1" bind-params="name">
    SELECT last_name
    FROM emp
    WHERE last_name LIKE '?%'
    </xsql:query>
    I have tried a few combinations so far with no success eg:
    WHERE last_name LIKE '{@name}%'
    WHERE last_name LIKE ?||%
    Any ideas?

    I highly recommend using XSQL's real bind variable feature wherever you can. You can read about it in the XSQL Online Documentation (Search for the "Using Bind Variables" section).
    Using this feature is more performant and more secure than using textual substitution variables.
    Here's what your page looks like using textual substitution:
    <page connection="UTD4" xmlns:xsql="urn:oracle-xsql">
      <xsql:query null-indicator="yes" >
        SELECT * FROM TC_HL7_SEG WHERE SEGMENT_CODE LIKE '{@code}%'
      </xsql:query>
    </page> .
    And here's what it would look like using real bind variables:
    <page connection="UTD4" xmlns:xsql="urn:oracle-xsql">
      <xsql:query null-indicator="yes" bind-params="code">
        SELECT * FROM TC_HL7_SEG WHERE SEGMENT_CODE LIKE ?||'%'
      </xsql:query>
    </page> .
    Using real bind variables allows the database to avoid reparsing the SQL statement everytime, which improves performance.

  • Using collections / Bind variables with a PL/SQL functio returning a query

    I have this code, which is supposed to assign collection variables as column names
    FOR i in 1 .. Collection_count -1
    LOOP
    SELECT c002 into :P341_M1 FROM APEX_collections WHERE collection_name = 'MA_SKILLS' AND seq_id=i;
    SELECT c002 into varholder FROM APEX_collections WHERE collection_name = 'MA_SKILLS' AND seq_id=i;
    vQuery:= vQuery || 'SUM(decode(label, ''Aware'', product_'|| i || ', ''Expert'', product_' || i || ', ''Proficient'', product_' || i || ', ''Advanced(Demo)'', product_' || i || ' )) as ';
    vQuery:=vQuery || varholder || ', ' ;
    END LOOP;
    I've tried &P341_M1. , :P341_M1, ':P341_M1', varholder
    When I try '&P341_M1' it returns the whole SUM(decode... line as the label
    Basically Im having a hard time using bind variables with the PL/SQL returning a query...anybody?

    Ok so working through this problem more I have realized that the problem is using the for loop i as an index value
    This will get a value:
    SELECT c002 into :P341_M1 FROM APEX_collections WHERE collection_name = 'MA_SKILLS' AND seq_id=2;
    But this won't
    SELECT c002 into :P341_M1 FROM APEX_collections WHERE collection_name = 'MA_SKILLS' AND seq_id=i;
    I'm in the for loop, and use the i variable in other places within this loop...Is there a reason why I can't compare seq_id to i?
    My new code as follows:
    FOR i in 1 .. Collection_count -1 --apex_application.g_f01.COUNT - 1
    LOOP
    varholder:=i;
    SELECT c002 into :P341_M1 FROM APEX_collections WHERE collection_name = 'MA_SKILLS' AND seq_id=2;
    SELECT c002 into varholder FROM APEX_collections WHERE collection_name = 'MA_SKILLS' AND seq_id=4;
    vQuery:= vQuery || 'SUM(decode(label, ''Aware'', product_'|| i || ', ''Expert'', product_' || i || ', ''Proficient'', product_' || i || ', ''Advanced(Demo)'', product_' || i || ' )) as f';
    vQuery:=vQuery || :P341_M1 ||i||', ' ;
    END LOOP;

  • Use of Bind , Connect with IP Multicasting

    i'm trying to get a clear picture of the semantics of using bind, connect with IP multicasting.
    ipv4 & ipv6 both are relavent.
    it is my understanding -- you must multicast join on each interface you want to receive on.
    in my view of the world, ideal semantics would provide :
    bind-ing a socket to a specific local IP address, port - that has joined multiple IP multicast addresses
    on multiple interfaces would allow multicasts to still be received - but would limit them to
    interfaces which matched the bound IP address, and further if more than 1 interface supported
    the same IP address, would allow receipt for all the joined interfaces that match the bound
    IP address.
    this does not appear to be the case; it appears that binding to a local IP address causes
    multicast receipt to terminate. binding to 1 of the joined multicast address limits receipt
    to the bound multicast address. the semantics seem confusing.
    regarding connect :,
    imagine multiple sources of a specific IP multicast address; your socket is doing receiving only,
    no transmiting. it seems that ideally connect would allow you to limit the receipt of IP multicast
    to the source that you connect to; i imagine connecting to the foreign IP address,
    not the IP multicast address being transmitted. if semantically i could connect to the IP multicast address
    i would still be receiving from all the sources - so no filtering benefit.
    my understanding is you can connect to a IP multicast address; but this seems redundant to bind with
    the only advandage that you can use send instead of sendto. and further if multiple sources are
    transmitting the same IP multicast address you dont get filtering
    when i tried using multiple sources transmitting 2048 different IP multicast address, with a receiver
    who had multicast joined the same 2048 IP multicast address -- as soon as connect to 1 of the
    sources ( foreign IP address) of the IP multicasts i stop receving packets all together. i had hoped
    to limit the receipt of the multicasts to just that single source.

    Generally, you would use bind variables by changing statements that are written like this
    select * from emp where empno=6678 and ename='Jones'
    so that they're written like
    select * from emp where empno=? and ename=?
    How you then bind these question marks to the particular values you want depends on the API you're using (ADO? OLE DB directly?, etc). If you have a support contract, there are plenty of examples for any API on metalink.oracle.com

  • Create dynamic table at runtime and bind it with ViewObject

    Hi everyone.
    I have the following task.
    I need to create a multiple ViewObjects at runtime (using different constructed sql queries) and then bind ViewObjects with created (also in runtime) tables.
    Tables are to be created on PanelTabbed component. Each tab contains one table.
    So the problem - is there a way to perform this task?
    A portion of code:
    ApplicationModule am = ADFUtils.getApplicationModule("AppModule");
    ViewObjectImpl vo = null;
    if (am.findViewObject("SQLVo") != null)
    am.findViewObject("SQLVo").remove();
    System.out.println("object removed!");
    vo = am.createViewObjectFromQueryStmt("vo", "select ...");
    RichTable newTable = new RichTable();
    newTable.setVar("row");
    newTable.setVarStatus("rowStat");
    RichShowDetailItem newDetItem = new RichShowDetailItem();
    newDetItem.setText("New Detail");
    newTable.setInlineStyle("width:100%;height:180px");
    newTable.setRowSelection("single");
    DCBindingContainer dcBindings = (DCBindingContainer)BindingContext.getCurrent().getCurrentBindingsEntry();
    String iterBindingName = vo.getName() + "Iterator";
    JUIteratorBinding iterBinding =
    (JUIteratorBinding)dcBindings.findIteratorBinding(iterBindingName);
    if (iterBinding != null) {
    dcBindings.removeIteratorBinding(iterBindingName);
    BindingContext bcc = (BindingContext)JSFUtils.resolveExpression("#{data}");
    iterBinding =
    new JUIteratorBinding(bcc.findDataControl("AppModuleDataControl"), vo);
    String ctrlBindingName = vo.getName() + "Binding";
    FacesCtrlHierBinding clonedHierBinding =
    (FacesCtrlHierBinding)dcBindings.findCtrlBinding(ctrlBindingName);
    if (clonedHierBinding != null) {
    dcBindings.removeControlBinding(ctrlBindingName);
    =======================================
    Please, look here!
    What's the best practices to create a new FacesCtrlHierBinding?
    What a parameter _nodeBindings (type JUCtrlHierTypeBinding[]) should be?

    // "FLOORS"
    _nodeBindings
    dcBindings.addControlBinding(ctrlBindingName, clonedHierBinding);
    newTable.setValue(clonedHierBinding.getCollectionModel());
    for (int g=0; g < vo.getAttributeCount(); g++){
    RichColumn col = new RichColumn();
    col.setId("c" + Integer.toString(g));
    col.setHeaderText(vo.getAttributeDef(g).getProperty(AttributeHints.ATTRIBUTE_LABEL).toString());
    ValueExpression valExp =
    facesContext.getApplication().getExpressionFactory().createValueExpression(facesContext.getELContext(),
    "#{row." + vo.getAttributeDef(g).getName() + "}",String.class);
    RichOutputText text = new RichOutputText();
    text.setId(vo.getAttributeDef(g).getName() + "txt");
    text.setValueExpression("value", valExp);
    col.getChildren().add(text);
    newTable.getChildren().add(col);
    newDetItem.getChildren().add(newTable);
    myBean.panelTabbed.getChildren().add(newDetItem);
    ...

    Shay, good day!
    You answer is good, but - it use only one dynamic view (and one table, iterator and FacesModel).
    I have task like topic started have - i need to create some unknows numbers of ViewObject (created by demad) and i must have a FacesModel for each created ViewObject.
    How can we do it?

  • Call Forwarding Breaks with iOS 8.3 Update on iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus with AT&T

    Ever since the iOS 8.3 Update, call forwarding is no longer working on my iPhone 6 Plus.  I have spent dozens of hours troubleshooting with both AT&T Advanced Business Technical Support as well as many hours with top technicians from Apple at my local Genius Bars.
    This is a critical bug for me as I used to use the call forwarding option multiple times a day, EVERY DAY, because when I am in certain business locations my mobile phone gets no reception and calls go right to voice mail.  I need to have them forwarded to the land line I'm located at.
    APPLE, PLEASE HELP!!!
    I've done extensive testing, and this seems definitely to be related to Apple iOS 8.3, and it seems to be specific to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus ONLY.
    To illustrate the EXACT problem:
    A: Settings -> Phone -> Call Forwarding
    B. Call Forwarding - Turn on
    C. Enter Number and return to previous screen by touching the blue "Call Forwarding" to return to previous screen.
    D. Call forwarding button is "green" for a split second, then returns to previous OFF state and no forwarding number is displayed.  DOES NOT WORK.
    NOT AN AT&T PROBLEM.  IF SOMEONE IS EXPERIENCING THIS WITH OTHER CARRIERS PLEASE COMMENT HERE.
    Further validation this is isolated to iOS 8.3 on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus ONLY and not the sim card from AT&T...
    Here are the latest steps I did with my AT&T sim card and my wife AT&T sim card (she has an iPhone 5s):
    1. Removed my sim and put it in the 5s. The phone said that a "carrier update" was required and I selected "NO" to that prompt.  Call forwarding functionality worked as expected on the 5s running iOS 8.3
    2. I removed the sim from the 5s and re-inserted it.  This time I selected "YES" to do the carrier update to eliminate that as a variable, and the call forwarding functionality still worked as expected.
    3. I then placed my wifes sim in my 6 Plus. Call forwarding functionality does NOT work on the 6 Plus (was not prompted for carrier update). Also, keep in mind this is my second phone (Apple provided me with a new iPhone 6 Plus when they couldn't resolve the problem at the Genius Bar after hours of troubleshooting).
    Note: I did one additional test which as interesting:  I put my sim in the 5s and turned call forwarding "on".  Then, I put the sim back into my 6 Plus.  The calls were still being forwarded to the number I put in while it was in the 5s, but the call forwarding interface in the 6 Plus showed that it was NOT forwarding calls.  I could not turn OFF the call forwarding from the 6 Plus and had to put the sim back into the 5s in order to turn off the call forwarding.
    If anyone has an update on this, or any other suggestions please advise!  This is a critical issue for me as when I travel and when I am in poor areas of reception I need to forward calls.  This is a featured I was using multiple times a day, EVERY DAY.
    APPLE?????????  HELP!!!!!!

    Yes, I am dealing with this right now on at&t with a 6 plus. I've been down the same road as you. I got it to work with a windows phone yesterday but not my 6 plus when I switched back to the iPhone. My wifes 6 works fine. I believe it is an at&t issue and not an 8.3 issue. After dealing through several levels of support at at&t, they are telling me it has to do with their transition to hd voice. Some people are having this issue because they are updating their system and some peoples phone profile, on phones that have hd voice capabilities, are not getting added to their line and call forwarding will not work without it. I have a trouble ticket open to their engineering dept and they promise it will work for me on or before the 24th of april. Engineering has to build my phones profile so call forwarding will work with my iPhone.
    This is frustrating because like you, I need to forward my calls because I have no signal in my office and need to forward to another phone so I can get my calls. If at&t would quit dragging their feet and enable wifi calling, this wouldn't be an issue for me. I would suggest you put more pressure on at&t and escalate this until it gets resolved. Or put your sim in a phone that does not have hd voice capability and see if it works then.
    Good luck. I'm keeping my fingers crossed this will be fixed for me on or before the 24th. We'll see.
    EDIT: I see you did put it in another phone and it worked. That backs up that the issue is at&t and their hd voice upgrades. They had no explanation as to why some work and some don't, but have them make sure a profile for your phone is on the line. If not, they'll need to build one for the phone so that it''l work. At least that's the story for now. Like I said, I'll know more in a day or two.

  • HT201342 I have not been able to upgrade to a new computer. So I am running an old OS 10.5.8 in a Powerbook Pro 15¨. I recently have had some e-mail problems. I would like to know if this is related with all transitional process from @mac to @icloud.

    I have just starting having problems with my @mac.com account because I still have an old computer. Un fortunatelly so many years this is my main account and no option to send e-mail are possible.
    Is this related with the transitional process from moving to an @icloud.com account?
    regards

    First of all, your profile says you are using OSX 10.5.8 which is incompatible wth all features of icloud, although users have been able to use icloud's email with older versions.  With the transition to @icloud.com accounts, it's difficult to say what the effect is regarding older versions of OSX.  I've read posts by others who are still using these versions and have now been having problems with emails.
    iCloud mail is a standard Imap account, any version of OSX (or Windows) with an Imap compatible mail client can use it.

    Thanks Rick,
    But I'm such a noob at Ae i've little idea on how to go about "Dynamically linked AE..." I appreciate now Ae is a technical tool which is going to take time to master which is difficult when I had yesterday to send the completed video to the client. Big problems for me are getting generated when I try to import Pr with Ae. Case in point is my Ae created animation being so much bigger than my imported video clip creating this effect: http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc53/zymurgy_bucket/misfit-video-clip-langleys-glitch_z pseec728d8.jpg

  • How to declare a bind variable with 'date' data type in command prompt?

    how to declare a bind variable with 'date' data type in command prompt?
    sql>variable q date;
    when i execute it show list of datatypes

    Hi,
    As Lokanath said, there are no DATE bind variables.
    You can use a VARCHAR2 bind variable, and convert it to a DATE in your SQL statment.
    If you're using SQL*Plus, consider a substitution variable. It won't be as efficient as a bind variable, but it will be as convenient.
    For example:
    DEFINE  first_entrry_date = "DATE '2010-06-20''
    SELECT   ...
    WHERE   entry_date >= &first_entry_date
    {code}
