Binding of a dependency property in a userControl does't work!

public static readonly DependencyProperty myTBProperty =
DependencyProperty.Register("myTB", typeof(decimal?), typeof(TB2), new FrameworkPropertyMetadata() { BindsTwoWayByDefault = true });
public decimal? myTB
get { return (decimal?)GetValue(myTBProperty); }
set { SetValue(myTBProperty, value); }
<TextBox Grid.Column="1" Text="{Binding myTB,Mode=TwoWay}" Width="{Binding TBWidth}"/>
The above code is for a UserControl.
Now I used this UserControl into another UserControl like this:
<c:TB2 myText="OutSide Diameter" myTB="{Binding Di,Mode=TwoWay}" TBWidth="120"/>
private decimal? _Di;
public decimal? Di
get { return _Di; }
set
_Di = value;
NotifyPropertyChanged();
But when I change the Value of Di, nothing happens. I have also tried with an ordinary TextBox and it works.

You cannot explicitly set the DataContext of the TB2 UserControl.
Give TB2 a name in the XAML markup:
<UserControl x:Class="WpfApplication1.TB2"
xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"
xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"
xmlns:mc="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/markup-compatibility/2006"
xmlns:d="http://schemas.microsoft.com/expression/blend/2008"
xmlns:local="clr-namespace:WpfApplication22"
mc:Ignorable="d"
d:DesignHeight="300" d:DesignWidth="300" Name="tb2">
...and bind to the myTB property of the UC using the ElementName syntax:
<TextBox Grid.Column="1" Text="{Binding myTB,Mode=TwoWay, ElementName=tb2}" Width="{Binding TBWidth}"/>
Do not set the DataContext of TB2 to itself programmatically because then you cannot bind to the Di source property in the other UC.

  • Create a trigger which set Image source with binding to a dependency property.

    I'm trying to create a specified button which switch images every time it pressed, without using the Click CBFunction, so I'm using toggle button and triggers (checked unchecked) and I want this button to
    supply DP of string so who ever uses is button will only have to specify the images paths and a click CBFuntion to
    perform what ever he wishes.
    I managed to create the mechanism for switching images with triggers(but the triggers image paths are hard coded and not using DP) and to enable setting a click CBFunction. When I switch the hard coded image path with a DP which return a string with
    the path the program crush, an exception is thrown.

  • The cookieName property in cookie-properties does not work in AS7 - bug in

    Hi,
    I'm working on an app that is accessed in two different ways, one directly from our intranet e.g.:
    http://host.domain:7000/esq/App.jsp
    And also over the internet tunnled over ssl (Sun.net):
    https://host2.sun.net/http%3A//host.domain%3A7000/esq/App.jsp
    Obviously the cookie path of "/esq" doesn't work with a url like that. So I set cookiePath to "/". Which is fine, but then my cookie conflicts with other apps tunneled over SSL - including one we host on the same app server. I'm thinking that if I can change the cookie's name to something unique other than the default "JSESSIONID" I'd be ok. And that's where I think I've run into a bug with AS7. Setting the cookiePath works fine, but changing the cookieName doesn't seem to have any effect, the App server keeps on naming it "JSESSIONID".
    This is what I have for my sun-web.xml:
    <sun-web-app>
    <session-config>
    <cookie-properties>
    <property name="cookiePath" value="/"/>
    <property name="cookieName" value="ESQ"/>
    </cookie-properties>
    </session-config>
    </sun-web-app>
    Thanks,
    Daniel Brice.

  • Silverlight 5 binding on a property with logic in its setter does not work as expected when debug is attached

    My problem is pretty easy to reproduce.
    I created a project from scratch with a view model.
    As you can see in the setter of "Age" property I have a simple logic.
        public class MainViewModel : INotifyPropertyChanged
                public event PropertyChangedEventHandler PropertyChanged;
                private int age;
                public int Age
                    get
                        return age;
                    set
                        /*Age has to be over 18* - a simple condition in the setter*/
                        age = value;
                        if(age <= 18)
                            age = 18;
                        OnPropertyChanged("Age");
                public MainViewModel(int age)
                    this.Age = age;
                private void OnPropertyChanged(string propertyName)
                    if (this.PropertyChanged != null)
                        PropertyChanged(this, new PropertyChangedEventArgs(propertyName));
    In the MainPage.xaml
         <Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot" Background="White">
                <TextBox
                    Text="{Binding Path=Age, Mode=TwoWay}"
                    HorizontalAlignment="Left"
                    Width="100"
                    Height="25"/>
                <TextBlock
                    Text="{Binding Path=Age, Mode=OneWay}"
                    HorizontalAlignment="Right"
                    Width="100"
                    Height="25"/>
            </Grid>
    And MainPage.xaml.cs I simply instantiate the view model and set it as a DataContext.
        public partial class MainPage : UserControl
            private MainViewModel mvm;
            public MainPage()
                InitializeComponent();
                mvm = new MainViewModel(20);
                this.DataContext = mvm;
    I expect that this code will limit set the Age to 18 if the value entered in the TextBox is lower than 18.
    Scenario: Insert into TextBox the value "5" and press tab (for the binding the take effect, TextBox needs to lose the focus)
    Case 1: Debugger is attached =>
    TextBox value will be "5" and TextBlock value will be "18" as expected. - WRONG
    Case 2: Debugger is NOT attached =>
    TextBox value will be "18" and TextBlock value will be "18" - CORRECT
    It seems that when debugger is attached the binding does not work as expected on the object that triggered the update of the property value. This happens only if the property to which we are binding has some logic into the setter or getter.
    Has something changed in SL5 and logic in setters is not allowed anymore?
    Configuration:
    VisualStudio 2010 SP1
    SL 5 Tools 5.1.30214.0
    SL5 sdk 5.0.61118.0
    IE 10
    Thanks!

    Inputting the value and changing it straight away is relatively rare.
    Very few people are now using Silverlight because it's kind of deprecated...
    This is why nobody has reported this.
    I certainly never noticed this problem and I have a number of live Silverlight systems out there.
    Some of which are huge.
    If you want a "fix":
    private void OnPropertyChanged(string propertyName)
    if (this.PropertyChanged != null)
    //PropertyChanged(this, new PropertyChangedEventArgs(propertyName));
    Storyboard sb = new Storyboard();
    sb.Duration = new Duration(new TimeSpan(0, 0, 0, 0, 100));
    sb.Completed += delegate
    PropertyChanged(this, new PropertyChangedEventArgs(propertyName));
    sb.Begin();
    The fact this works is interesting because (I think ) it means the textbox can't be updated at the point the propertychanged is raised.

    Hi ,
    when i moved crystal reprts from our Crystal server to the new BOBJ (BOExi3.1) Server and on DB configuration for all the reports i used the DB defaults that comes with the Report.
    Problem when i try to run locally or run from the enterprise login it works perfect, but when i try to run the report from the Infoview it says Database Information is either Incorrect or Incomplete.
    and also when i goto report and change the DB configuration it throws this error as

    Please throw some light on the above error as i need to make it available for our end-users ASAP.

    Hi Seth,
    I looks like you have a configuration issue in BOE so I moved your post to the Admin forum.
    You also likely have a support Contract so I suggest you create a case in Service Market Place to immediate assistance. This is a public forum that may or may not be monitored by SAP Support Rep's, depending on the case load.
    Thank you

    Have just down loaded Yosemite over Mountain Lion, Indesign CS5 does not work ( Am dependant on it) although Bridge , Light Room and Elements operate OK How do I solve this rapidly. Can any one help on this issue. Thanks

    Sorry to say it, but I think you can see from Bob's response that there's no way to solve this rapidly.
    Did you take an image of your Mountain Lion install before upgrading to Yosemite? Roll back to that. If you're not in the habit of taking a snapshot of your system before performing operating system upgrades - get in that habit. If you are dependent on anything at all on hour computer, having a reliable backup method in place is essential. If you don't have a Time Capsule, or some other way to run Time Machine onto a disk that's not in your computer, go set that up yesterday.
    If you can't just remove Yosemite and roll back to Mountain Lion for whatever reason, you can partition your drive so that you can install both Yosemite and Mountain Lion on the same drive, and then boot into Mountain Lion when you need to work in CS5. Or you can take your Mountain Lion disc (I assume you have one, no?) and then use it to create a virtual machine in something like VirtualBox to run Mountain Lion from inside Yosemite.

  • Event.hits property does not work at Adobe 9

    I have just discovered that the property "event.hits" does not work at Adobe Reader 9 properly.
    I have some JavaScript, which uses this property:
    if (event.hits.length > 0)
    var targetPos = event.hits[0].position;
    Now, at Adobe Reader 9 the value of "event.hits[0].position" is not correct.
    At Adobe 8 Standard this JavaScript works very well!
    Can you comment this issue?

    Hello to everyone!
    There is a some PDF file, which works fine on Adobe 8 and does not work properly on Adobe 9.
    You can download this file from the following hyper-link:
    http://www.pdf3d.co.uk/pdf/box97.pdf
    When I open this file on Adobe 8 then gold arrow works fine.
    In this case the gold arrow (pointer) has a true location on the box.
    When I open this file on Adobe 9 then gold arrow has a false location.
    In this case the gold arrow (pointer) has a false location on the box.
    Could somebody can to me a some suggestion?

  • Data Binding: Simple code does not work.

    hi... the following simple code is used to display the ename field for a record selected in scott.emp on the console. the code is placed in an event handler. it is as follows:
    DCBindingContainer bindings = ctx.getBindingContainer();
    DCControlBinding binding = bindings.findCtrlBinding("ename");
    String Name = (binding != null) ? binding.toString() : "";
    System.out.println(Name);
    is the code above correct????
    if so, why it does not work???
    thanks for every help in advance & best regards.

    Hi,
    please check the UIModel.xml file for the page if the binding name is "name". The code you have is the same code we published in our QBE workshop and it works there. The only difference is the name of the control binding. So please check if the binding name exists. (e.g. it could be ename1 instead of ename)

    I uploaded rpt success, however, after I add IReportLogon to add user/password. I got an error.
    The property with ID SI_LOGON_INFO does not exist in the object
    Code here, any suggestion is appreciated.
    IPluginMgr boIPluginMgr = infoStore.getPluginMgr();
    IPluginInfo boReportPlugin = boIPluginMgr.getPluginInfo("CrystalEnterprise.Report");
    IInfoObjects boInfoObjects = infoStore.newInfoObjectCollection();
    boInfoObjects.add(boReportPlugin);
    IInfoObject boReportObject = (IInfoObject) boInfoObjects.get(0);
    String boReportName = getName(filePath);
    boReportObject.setTitle(boReportName);
    boReportObject.setDescription(filePath);
    boReportObject.getFiles().addFile(filePath);
    boReportObject.properties().setProperty(CePropertyID.SI_PARENTID, folderID);
    IReport Report = (IReport)boReportObject;
    IReportLogon rptLogon = (IReportLogon) Report.getReportLogons().get(0);
    //get error after try to retrieve rptLogon Class.
    rptLogon.setPromptOnDemandViewing(false);
    rptLogon.setUserName("fortest");
    rptLogon.setPassword("whatever");
    infoStore.commit (boInfoObjects);

    Hi Adam,
    Thanks for your reply.
    I added this refreshProperties() method before, but after run this method, the application will no response even wait for over 2 minutes.
    Do you know why?
    or shall I wait for long time to resolve this issue?

  • The property with ID SI_FILES does not exist in the object

    Hi,
    We are accessing the BO reports through front End web application using WEBI. We are using BO Java SDK on the application for this purpose.
    Some of our users (APAC region) has started getting the error while accessing the reports from web application. Here are the error:
    com.crystaldecisions.sdk.exception.SDKException$PropertyNotFound: The property with ID SI_FILES does not exist in the object [24/01/12 13:27:39:402 GMT] 000000b6 SystemErr R at com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.infostore.internal.ag.getFiles(Unknown Source)

    Same report when accessed by the users from AMER or EMEA region, it is working fine. Can anyone help me what is the issue and how to resolve it?
    Thanks,
    Ashok

    what version of Enterprise is this? XI 3.1, Bi 4.0? Also what version pack are you running. I am asusming that APJ and EMEA\AMER users try to hit the same web\app server\ BOE, same application and access same reports. What kind of authentication you use? Given everything else is same it's got to be security issue? Does APJ users are part of a different group in your 3rd party auth server such as LDAP or AD?

  • How to binding and change VM property value when DataTrigger?

    Hi all,
    Please see the below code. The current work is when mouse over myButton then set textbox value as 3. Then binding this value to ViewModel property, at this time, the new value of ViewModel property also be 3.
    The textbox just like a bridge. Can I remove this bridge and change the VM property directly when <setter..... in myTrigger style? thanks.
    <Style x:Key="myTrigger" TargetType="TextBox">
    <Style.Triggers>
    <DataTrigger Binding="{Binding IsMouseOver, ElementName=myButton}" Value="True">
    <Setter Property="Text" Value="3"></Setter>
    </DataTrigger>
    </Style.Triggers>
    </Style>

    This definitely works:
    <Button Height="50" Width="100">
    <Button.Triggers>
    <EventTrigger RoutedEvent="Button.MouseEnter">
    <BeginStoryboard>
    <Storyboard
    Storyboard.Target="{Binding}"
    Storyboard.TargetProperty="MyNum">
    <DoubleAnimation To="3.0" />
    </Storyboard>
    </BeginStoryboard>
    </EventTrigger>
    </Button.Triggers>
    </Button>
    Viewmodel:
    public class MainWindowViewModel : DependencyObject
    public double MyNum
    get { return (double)GetValue(MyNumProperty); }
    set
    SetValue(MyNumProperty, value);
    // Using a DependencyProperty as the backing store for MyNum. This enables animation, styling, binding, etc...
    public static readonly DependencyProperty MyNumProperty =
    DependencyProperty.Register("MyNum", typeof(double), typeof(MainWindowViewModel), new PropertyMetadata(callBack));
    static void callBack(DependencyObject d, DependencyPropertyChangedEventArgs e)
    Console.WriteLine(e.NewValue.ToString());
    Hope that helps.

  • Error Binding DatePicker control Date property

    I am building a Universal App and am getting a run time error on my DatePicker control when trying to bind the Date property.
    I have this in my XAML:
     <DatePicker x:Uid="StartDate" Header="Start Date" Date="{Binding StartDateUtc, Mode=TwoWay, UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged}"/>
    I am binding it to a DateTime property called StartDateUtc. However when firing up the app, I am getting this error:
    Exception = {"The text associated with this error code could not be found.\r\n\r\nFailed to assign to property '%0'. [Line: 42 Position: 63]"}
    Position 63 happens to be the Date Property. If I remove it, the control is displayed.

    Hi Craig,
    >> I'm not sure a whole project is needed. Here's the XAML
    I failed to reproduce your issue “Failed to assign to property”.  Could you please share a sample project through OneDrive to help us reproduce this issue?
    By the way, the type of
    DatePicker.Date property is DateTimeOffset rather than DateTime. Please try the ViewModel as following and let me know if it makes any difference.
    public class CustomViewModel : INotifyPropertyChanged
    public event PropertyChangedEventHandler PropertyChanged;
    private void NotifyPropertyChanged([CallerMemberName] String propertyName = "")
    if (PropertyChanged != null)
    PropertyChanged(this, new PropertyChangedEventArgs(propertyName));
    private DateTimeOffset _startDateUtc;
    [RestorableState]
    public DateTimeOffset StartDateUtc
    get
    return this._startDateUtc;
    set
    if (value != this._startDateUtc)
    this._startDateUtc = value;
    NotifyPropertyChanged();

  • H:selectOneMenu value binding to managed bean property

    Please help. Cannot figure out why selectOneMenu value binding is not working...
    The main contents of my jsp:
         <h:form id="form1" rendered="true">
              <P>
                   <h:selectOneMenu value="#{MBListBoxExample.selectedProject}" rendered="true"
                        required="false">
                        <f:selectItems value="#{MBListBoxExample.items}" />
                   </h:selectOneMenu>
              </P>
              <h:commandButton value="ShowSelected" rendered="true" action="#{MBListBoxExample.showSelected}" />
         </h:form>I have a managed bean with a property that is basically a custom object:
    private Project selectedProject;The selectOneMenu gets populated with the following code in my managed bean:
         public List getItems() {
              try {
                   ArrayList projectList = new ArrayList ();
                   projectList.add(new Project(1, "Project 1"));
                   projectList.add(new Project(2, "Project 2"));
                   projectList.add(new Project(3, "Project 3"));
                   projectList.add(new Project(4, "Project 4"));
                   ArrayList itemList = new ArrayList();
                   for (int x=0; x<projectList.size(); x++) {
                        SelectItem tempItem = new SelectItem();
                        Project tempProj = (Project) projectList.get(x);
                        tempItem.setLabel(tempProj.getName());
                        tempItem.setValue(tempProj);
                        itemList.add(tempItem);
                   return itemList;
              } catch (Exception e) {
                   // TODO Auto-generated catch block
                   e.printStackTrace();
              return null;
         }The following code is tied to my command button to display some simple output when the button is clicked:
         public void showSelected() {
              System.out.println("The selected item is: " + selectedProject.getName());
         }If I set the value of the SelectItem (tempItem) above to a String and make the selectedProject variable of type String, the code works.
    My goal is to have the items in the list reference 'Project' objects and be able to get to the selected object when the user clicks the command button.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    The problem is that you're missing a converter. JSF needs to convert your values from Strings into Projects and vica verca.
    When you do the form submission the values are passed as strings along with the labels. JSF isn't smart enough to convert them automatically.
