Biweekly Payroll Calendar Break

Hi experts,
My client has a requirement where-in they need the presently running Biweekly calendar to be broken.
To be specific, the payroll calendar for a Payroll area (Temp) is a biweekly one with the paydate one week after the pay period.
It has a pattern like this:
PerPa     PayY          PP     Year     Per     Start Date     End Date       Name
98     2009          1     2008     26     12/13/2008 12/26/2008 Bi-Weekly BT
98     2009          2     2009     1     12/27/2008 1/9/2009       Bi-Weekly BT
98     2009          3     2009     2     1/10/2009     1/23/2009       Bi-Weekly BT
98     2009          4     2009     3     1/24/2009     2/6/2009       Bi-Weekly BT
98     2009          5     2009     4     2/7/2009     2/20/2009       Bi-Weekly BT
98     2009          6     2009     5     2/21/2009     3/6/2009       Bi-Weekly BT
98     2009          7     2009     6     3/7/2009     3/20/2009       Bi-Weekly BT
98     2009          8     2009     7     3/21/2009     4/3/2009       Bi-Weekly BT
98     2009          9     2009     8     4/4/2009     4/17/2009       Bi-Weekly BT
98     2009          10     2009     9     4/18/2009     5/1/2009       Bi-Weekly BT
98     2009          11     2009     10     5/2/2008     5/8/2009       Bi-Weekly BT
98     2009          12     2009     11     5/9/2008     5/22/2009       Bi-Weekly BT
We need to stop the way the Calendar runs at PP 11 to go for one week and have it running bi-weekly again from there.
Is this task possible with automation by generatiing the payroll calendar. I tired generating the payroll biweekly calendar with start date as 5/9/2009, but this is internally deleting my PP 11 (5/2 - 5/8) and starting afreash.
I know I can manually build the calendar till the end of the year and then generate it from there.
Is there a way we can trick the system to automate the way we want?
Thanks in advance.

I understand taht we cant have two date modifiers for one payroll area
u have two bi weekly dates but u cannot do that one in one pay roll area so "why cant u create two pay roll areas and run the pay rolls "
while doing this process take care of control period
let me know if there is anything else

  • Payroll Calendar and Work Week Changes

    Hi  All,
Good Afternoon. We are on SAP ECC 6.0 with EHP4. Currently our Biweekly
payroll Work Week starts on Thursday and Ends on Wednesday . Our
Management has decided to change the Work week start day will be  from
Monday and will be ending on Sunday. In Order to meet this Work week
Calendar changes our Team has proposed two Options. Both the Options
    are provided below .
    1. Option 1 : Change the last period and Extend the Pay Period by 4
days so that the Last pay period ends on Sunday . We will process only
    26 Pay Periods
    2. Option 2 : Process all the Current 26 pay Periods as usual and
Create a new payroll period for 4 days from Thursday thro Sunday . We
will have a Separate 27 pay Periods
Both the Approaches has Pros and Con's .
We are debating ourselves to choose one of the Approaches and we can
really appreciate if you can guide us and shed some light on which
approach we have to Adopt for a better transistion .
Do we have any SAP recommended Procedure for this kind of changes .
I can really appreciate if you can Respond me ASAP .
    Thanks and Regards

    Hi andrius.kr,
I understand. Then I can help to check the settings on the Exchange side.
As far as I know, Entourage uses web services to connect to Exchange Server. Let's first test the web services by running Test-OutlookWebServices command, more details in the following blog:

  • 27 paydays -biweekly payroll - FSA "irregular" calculation

    Hi Gurus,
We run a bi-weekly payroll and the payday of the last payroll period 26 of 2008 falls on 01/02/2009.....and the last period of 2009 has a payday of 01/01/201(holiday). To avoid the last payday of 2009 to fall on a holiday we shifted it to 12/31/2009. Now this has created a situation where 2009 has 27 paydays. The problem is that (FSAs  are setup to be calculated on the no. of Paydays) are dividing the EE annual pre-tax calculation by 27 instead of 26. Need your suggestions on how to tackle this issue.....

    Hi
It's OK to have 27 bi-weekly Pay periods in a year and so the deduction pattern would also change for FSAs. Besides that I would suggest that you should also check for the deduction pattern for Health Savings Accounts and Medical/Dental/Vision Plans as well. Also deductions for some insurance plans may also be affected because of 'extra' pay period in Yr 2009.

  • Error with month end payroll Accruals

We have an error when posting month end payroll accruals for our weekly payroll, though the bi-weekly payroll works fine!
I have checked tables T549S and T51A1 and all of the dates are correct and set as I would expect, however the system did not create a month end accrual for the weekly payroll into the following months posting period.  For the biweekly payroll this worked exactly as expected.
We had no issues with this for the last calendar year, however for 2009 we have changed our month end closing dates, though I do not see that this would prevent this from happening.  I have checked various things in the IMG and have not been able to resolve this, does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this.
    HELP!!!

    Michelle :
Month-end accrual determination is based on T51A1, T549S (date type '04' and '05'), and T549Q (field Begda and Endda). Pay extra attention on these dates, as if one is incorrect (e.g. miss-type the year in the future entry with an earlier year) would definitely cause month-end accrual to stop working.

  • Payroll control - RA issue

    1. In payroll, Which retro active date takes precedence ?
Assume an employee is having payroll area A1
    a. Payroll control record -> Earliest retro acctg period for Payroll area A1 - 01.12.2011
    b. Emp X, who belongs to Payroll area A1 -> Earl.pers.RA date -> 01.11.2011
    Which takes precedence?
    c. When running payoll for emp x, with forced retro as 01.09.2011, which date will apply ?
    2. Is there any program to 'release' payroll control area automatically / should be done by
       payroll admin manually ?

    1. In payroll, Which retro active date takes precedence ?
    [Answer]: Earliest MD Change Date.
Assume an employee is having payroll area A1
    a. Payroll control record -> Earliest retro acctg period for Payroll area A1 - 01.12.2011
    b. Emp X, who belongs to Payroll area A1 -> Earl.pers.RA date -> 01.11.2011
    Which takes precedence?
[Answer]: In your case, no retro data can be maintain earlier than 01.12.2011 since A1 is set. However, if the data is created before Earliest retro acctg period for Payroll area A1, it will run error normally.
    c. When running payoll for emp x, with forced retro as 01.09.2011, which date will apply ?
[Answer]: In PY driver [PC00_MXX_CALC], you can forced the employee to run retro payroll. Or, Earliest MD Change Date / Earliest Personnel RA Date is also another option but need to make sure the PY area's earliest retro should be EARLIER or equal to the same period. Otherwise, you may face error during payroll run.
    2. Is there any program to 'release' payroll control area automatically / should be done by
    payroll admin manually ?
[Answer]: You may do Payroll Calendar in the configuration, but I have never try it before because it is lack of flexibilities....I would say doing it manually is always better because you need to consider exception cases / weekends / public holidays / etc/
    Thanks!

  • How can I stop Calendar from formatting the location of an event?

When I enter the event's location (e.g. Concert Hall, 123 Main Street) Calendar breaks it up into multiple fields and sorts them alphabetically (e.g. "123 Main Street" and"Concert Hall"). It also tags each field with "!", meaning presumably that the location was not found in a directory or contact list. I'd like to stop Calendar from doing _anything_ "smart' to the location info and just display it exactly as I enter it. Any ideas on whether this is possible? Thanks much!

The site file is a database that keeps track of all your assets (and much more), including the scriptLib file. As soon as the page is saved (when you use the site file and it's open) the link will be change to the correct path that will work on the server.
If you're not using the site file you might as well use a text editor, since most of GL functionality is gone.

  • Incorrect URL on Calendar List Event in Overlay View

    Hello,
We're using Standalone SharePoint 2010 installation.
The agency I work for has a Clerical Staff calendar list. This is the principal calendar staff use so it has several other calendars overlaid in the list view.
One such calendar was Volunteer Schedule. Once this was no longer used I renamed the volulnteer calendar to payroll calendar and changed the URL in sharepoint designer 2010. This was successful, I can hit the payroll calendar and the URL is correct.
However, I'm having issues with the payroll calendar items. When you click on any Payroll Calendar Event in the Clerical Calendar overlay view, the URL for the payroll calendar item resolves to a completely different calendar list and throws
an "Item Does Not Exist" error.
I can still add, edit, and delete those items on the payroll calendar specifically, and new adds do show up in the overlay... it's only when you click the Title of that item in the Clerical calendar overlay does the error happen, it's almost as if the Calendar
list items have lost their connection to their parent calendar list.
Further investigation has brought no answers, I'd rather not delete and recreate the payroll calendar as it's densely populated.
Any thoughts or links will be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Brian H.

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to solve the issue about the Payroll Calendar Events when you clicked on any Payroll Calendar Event in the Clerical Calendar overlay view in SharePoint 2010.
I try to reproduce the issue, however, the result is the same as yours.
If you need to rename the Volulnteer Calendar to Payroll Calendar and change the URL in SharePoint designer 2010, I suggest that you can delete the previous Volulnteer Calendars Overlay and create a new one Payroll Calendars Overlay in the Clerical Calendar
    list.
I recommend that you can follow the steps as below to implement it.
    1. Open the Clerical Calendar list, go to the “Calendar Tools”, and click the “Calendars Overlay” under “Calendar”.
    2. Click the previous Volulnteer Calendars Overlay, and click the “Delete” button to delete it.
    3. Click “New Calendar”, type the Calendar Name, select the Color and click the “Resolve” button to get the latest information of the Calendar list in the Web URL.
    4. Select the new Payroll Calendar list and click “OK” button.
Now, you can go back to the Clerical Calendar list and test the new Payroll Calendars Overlay in your environment.
In addition, you can rename the Volulnteer Calendar through the UI, then the URL will be changed automatically. And then you can click the Calendars Overlay directly.
To rename the Volulnteer Calendar through the UI, you can follow the steps as below:
    1. Go to “List Settings” of the Volunteer Calendar, and click the “Title, description and navigation” under “General Settings”.
    2. Change the name to “Payroll” and click “Save” button.
Then, you can see the new Payroll Calendar list on the Quick Launch.
For more information, you can refer to:

  • Sync iCal - iPhone - Exchange 2007 broken after MobileMe Calendar upgrade

I need to keep contacts and calendars in sync between my work pc (XP, Outlook 2003, Exchange Server 2010), my home Mac (10.6.6) and my iPhone (3GS, iOS 4.3). Until recently, that worked fine by the following (roundabout) way: PC syncs with Plaxo online via Outlook add-in; Plaxo syncs with Mac; Mac syncs with MobileMe; MobileMe syncs with iPhone. However, the recent upgrade to new MobileMe calendar breaks this workflow, at least for calendar syncing, because Plaxo cannot synchronise with the new CalDAV cloud-hosted calendars. Can anyone suggest another way of getting this to work?
I thought MobileMe for PC might be a solution, but while it can show MobileMe calendars in Outlook, it can't synchronize them (and it seems not to work with Windows XP). A while back, I tried using Google Calendar as the focal point, but found Google Calendar Sync for Windows created a lot of duplicate items, lost items and general mess.
PS The office network doesn't run Exchange ActiveSync and does not allow a vpn connection from Mac or iPhone.

    Hi JWilson@ch,
So I thought I was the only person doing that crazy workflow to get everything synced. I do it exactly the same way.
I stupidly upgraded to the new MobileMe last year when first invited, and spent the next few days working out how to get it all back and working. I have been happily syncing everything the old way since then.
My major concern now is that I just received an email from MobileMe today saying I have to upgrade now as they have stopped syncing the old calendar! I haven't checked this yet (I will in a sec), but if I have to upgrade, that means I lose everything that has worked so well since MobileMe started.
My crappy work Blackberry is useless for mirroring my Outlook calendar, so syncing my work onto the much more user friendly iPhone had been a saviour. Now I have all of my work and personal appointments in the same place, and I never miss anything.
What to do now? Is there another way to get my PC calendar onto my iPhone, apart from the Exchange Activesync option which my office also doesn't support.
I'll hold out as long as I can...

  • VBA script for custom Outlook 2010 calendar "first day of week"

I need Outlook 2010 to use "week starting with the Saturday before Jan 1" as "first week of year" to match our company payroll calendar. (For example, Saturday 12/26/2015-Sunday 1/3/2016 would be "first week of 2016".) Is there
a way to do this in a VBA script?
    -Thanks, zogg

    Hello zogg,
The settings are stored in the registry at
    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Options\Calendar
    where 15.0 stands for Outlook
    2013.
    Make changes in
the Outlook settings and see which registry values change and in what way depending
    on the settings you change.
Also take a look at the How
can I get the work week and day number in VBA (outlook 2010)? page which states the following:
    WW = Format(Now, "ww") & "." & Weekday(Now, vbMonday)
The "Format" function returns an expression from a string formatted with the provided "format" argument (ww in
this case, which returns the week of the year) and the Weekday() function
returns the numbered day of the week where the first day is a VBDayOfWeek enumeration
provided as the second argument (vbMonday in
    this case).

  • Change to the Payroll Frequency feature does not update Annual Salary IT8

We are running a biweekly payroll but in 2009, because of the way the calandar falls we will have 27 pay periods.  The Payroll Frequency feature was changed but for salaried employees, their info type 8 annual salary still shows their biweekly amount * 26.  However if we give the empoyee a pay increase (or, I suspect, change the record in any way) info type 8 will now correctly show annual salary as 27 * the biweekly amount.
Is there a way (like a sap standard report) to make info type 8 recalculate annual salary by multilplying the biweekly amount * our previosly changed Pay Frequency feature (which is now 27 not 26)?
    Thanks very much.

    Mark :
Per SAP document, annual salary "should not necessarily represent the actual amount paid but rather a value that can be used for purposes of comparison". SAP does not recommend changing the number of periods in 'PFREQ' feature as this could lead to inconsistencies for existing data.
Payroll calculation is based on the 'pay period' amount, not base salary. I think it's better off not having to change anything just because your bi-weekly happens to have 27 (instead of 26) pay periods for this year.
    Rgds.

  • OWA Calendar want to display a link to other users shared calendar that was created in Sharepoint at login

Site is using Office 365.  They do not have the actual Office apps on their PC's, they access everything via OWA.  (sorry if I did not use correct nomenclature).
Users currently access calendars etc, by accessing the site's SharePoint site after login to the Microsoft Portal (https://login.microsoftonline.com).  Then going to "site contents", and then
accessing the calendar that was created.  Just a generic calendar that they use to schedule a conference room.  They log into O365 Portal, and just drill down.
What the users' WANT to be able to do, is access the calendar off of their initial OWA screen that they get when they log into the portal.  At worst, just go down to "calendars" break it out, and click on "conference room calendar"
or whatever.  I tried to do a copy and paste of the link from the page that has the calendar displayed, into a new link, but that did not bring up anything.
So, to recap, the site is not using AD, they are all on generic Win7 and Win8 PC's that are not in a domain.
They do not have Office on their computers.  They use OWA for everything.
They do not want to drill down to calendars etc after login to access these resources, they want to be able to just click on a link on their OWA main default page they get when they initially log into the O365 portal, and get what they want.  Not
drill down to the SharePoint shared calendar, which is only four clicks, but they don't want to have to do it. Whay want "ease of access".
    Thanks for your help.
    Rick

You can move the iTunes folder to a separate drive on your pc an then configure each account to use this drive / folder as iTunes library ... The problem is, that iTunes by default stores everything in your personal music folder which is separate for each user account in windows (and by default is on "C" drive).
I create a separate partition on every pc/laptop (and map a drive name) where I store music, videos and other mass data. This will also keep the "C" drive small, which is backed up from time to time and so my backup is also small.

    Hi,
    it may help u.
The BW load for Organizational Management data is usually scheduled for the first Friday of each month. In months where HRMS Payroll processing is scheduled to occur over the first Friday of the month, the BW load for Organizational Management data will be rescheduled. This data load will be rescheduled for the second Friday of the month. In the event that the second Friday of the month is not available for the Organizational Management data load, a message will be posted to the BW site and the HRMS Message Center with the alternate date.
The Payroll calendar can be accessed from this link: http://www.dop.wa.gov/HRMS/CustomerSupport/Schedules/
BW Custom Reports are available via the HRMS Portal (reference the BW Self-Paced Learning Materials for more info). These reports were designed to provide users with flexible reporting options. This allows both End Users and Power Users the ability to apply “user defined settings”. Users have the ability to add/remove rows or columns, filter and sort report results, etc.
Sometimes, it's easier to apply user defined settings to an existing report rather than building a new ad hoc query. BW Power Users -- before creating a new ad hoc query, check the BW Reports via the HRMS Portal -- you may be able to apply user defined settings to an existing report.
BW Power Users are the "agency go to" person for BW reporting questions. If you don't know who your agency Power Users are, contact your agency Security Administrator (or contact the DOP ISD Helpdesk).

  • Issue with Unpaid Absence for Rotating Shift Employees with Averaging Hours

We run a biweekly payroll where full time employees are paid based on an 80 hr work shift per pay period.    We have a requirement where employees in production are on a rotating shift.  They may work 80, 88 or 72 hrs per pay period because  their work schedule rule is defined this way.  However, regardless if they worked 80, 88 or 72 hrs, these employees should still be paid based on 80 hrs of work (overtime will be paid extra).  Currently, our system handles it this way.
However, a problem comes up when the employee has an unpaid absence for the period. The WT  /801 is calculating a factor that results in incorrect pay.  For example, if an employee has an hourly rate of $10 (biweekly rate of $ 800), with a work shift of 88 hrs and 24 hrs unpaid absence for the period, the rule KPPF is calculating the factor (/801) to be: 64/88 = .7272, and therby paying 581.76 ($800 x .7272).   The calculation of /801 comes from the formula:
total hrs worked (88) - unpaid hrs (24)
                    total hrs worked (88)
Given our requirement, the correction calculation for the factor  should be:
      80 - 24    = .7
         80
and the correct pay should be $560 ($800 x .7)
I tried modifying rule KPPF, along with KPP0 and KPP1 and was able to make it work to fit our requirements.  However, the modification I made only works when there is only 1 WPBP record.  If there are multiple WPBP records , possibly caused by an personnel action , change of IT0007 or  IT0008 in the middle of the pay period,  it becomes way too complicated to modify the rule to handle each and every scenario.
If anyone has come across a similar requirement, I would really appreciate if you could assist on how this should be handled.
    Thanks.
