Blackberry Torch - Can't change time

I have a BB Torch 9510. The device time is wrong but I can't change it as the Update Time icon in Display and Controls panel, is marked Automatic with a lock symbol. Also the Auto Update Time Zone: shows Prompt with a lock symbol.
The network time is correct.
Can anybody help with this please

Start with a battery pull.  Remove your battery with your phone powered on then replace it.  If that doesn't do the trick, try reloading your OS using BlackBerry Desktop Software.  If neither of those works, I'm stumped.

i dont know what else to do!

  • Blackberry Torch is all th time breaking down and driving up since this morning when i did syc.

Heelo, to all. My torch is since this moirning after syc all the time breaking down and again starting up. Whta can i do?

I suggest trying a new/different battery. If that doesn't fix it then it may be software related.
Important: Make a full backup of the device using BlackBerry Desktop Software before continuing.
Go to Options >Security Wipe. Wipe the device, including 3rd party applications. Does the device still exhibit the same behavior?
If yes, then you can try reloading the OS to the device. If we need to do that I'll provide instructions.
If no, then restore your backup file to the device and see if the device still works normally. If it does then you can begin to reinstall your apps one by one until you find the one that is causing the reboot problems. If the problem comes back then you know it was something in your personal data and you can wipe the phone again and restore only the most important data from the backup and start over fresh for everything else.

  • Mail message viewer-can I change time zone for "time received" & "time sent" to my local time?

Does anyone know how to change the time zone MAIL uses to one's local time zone?  I'm talking about Apple's Mail Program that's "on my mac."  It shows all my "times sent" and "times received" in eastern time.  Not a big deal, but since I'm on the west coast, I'd prefer pacific time.  The menu bar at the very top of the screen shows local time, but Mail doesn't reflect that.  I have a desktop iMac, Lion 10.7.3.  Any help will be much appreciated!

I had the same situation on my current business trip.  Home = SF (Pacific time), current location = Houston (Central time, 2 hours later).  For a message I just sent (and received a copy of) at 6:34 AM local (Houston) time, Mail (v6.6, in Mountain Lion 10.8.5) was displaying Date Received as 4:34 AM.  I can tell 'ya, it's *not* 4:34 AM where I'm sitting
My practice on any trip to a different time zone is just what Carlo TD described -- use SysPrefs/DateTime to change the TZ to local geographic (and also change Calendar's TZ at upper right in its window, but that's not related to the Mail issue).  But when I did so, Mail didn't repaint its Date Received column.  On a hunch, I quit and re-started Mail.  Problem solved -- all the Date Received values changed to local (Houston) time!
Now to send Apple a Feedback that Mail doesn't repaint its displayed times when SysPrefs/DateTime changes the TZ...
[Interestingly, when I just posted this reply, the message in the thread shows something like "4:54 AM".  Perhaps Apple displays all Support threads in Cupertino (Pacific) time...]

  • Can't change Time Signature before Bar 1

I have a song that I want to have a 2 bar count in of 7/8, then go into 13/16 starting on bar 1. Somehow the count-in time sig got changed to 18/8, and everytime I try clicking before bar 1, and re-setting it to 7/8, it just stays on 18/8. I can't figure out why it won't let me change it. I can change the time sig on bar 1 and every thing after it, but not the count-in. Is there somewhere special I'm supposed set that count-in time signature? Maybe there's something I've hit that locks the count-in time signature?

As a workaround you could just start your 7/8 count on bar 1, and change to 13/16 at bar 3. Then after you get it recorded you can move it back to bar 1. I've tried to do what you're trying on my settup and can confirm that it does not work.

  • Blackberry and changing time zones

Is there a way to make the Blackberry change according to local time zone?  my other cell phones got the time from the carrier's system, and if i changed time zones the phone would display the local time it got from the tower.  But the Blackberry stays on it's original time, regardless of where I am.
    Steve

No, you can't change that. BlackBerrys do not automatically change with the timezone.
There are valid reasons for that, regarding the calendar and the way it adjusts the times of scheduled meetings.

    Help me this problem?

You need to add that attribute using the config tool for your view configuration. Select the attribute All Day from the context node BTDATE in the available fields to your display field and then save it. It should now be visible in your UI and now you can select or uncheck it to make the time field enable. Check the below image

  • BLACKBERRY TORCH - won't turn on and desktop manager won't recognise it - I can't get my contacts

    Hi all,
I'm new to this so please bare with me.
I'll try and be as brief as possible. Up until last week I had the Blackberry Torch 9800. I was due an upgrade and about two days before I went to contact my network provider my Torch battery died (it wasn't broken at this point, it just was drained and needed charged) so I went to charge it and it did that thing where the battery was so dead it wouldn't even switch on whilst charging.
I plugged it in and rather than charge like normal it was completely dead and the only activity it offered me was two red flashing lights as it 'charged'. From that moment on it has not turned on. Dead as can be. If I plug to charge (wall charger OR USB port) I get the two bright red flashing notification lights but it will not go on.
Anyway rather than send it to be repaired I opted for a new phone as I was due an upgrade anyway and intended on doing so whether the Torch was alive and kicking at this point or not. Cut a long story short I got my new blackberry (9360 curve) it is all set up with my e-mail etc, media card and same sim card swapped over but as Blackberry insist on your contact numbers being saved to the handset and not the sim my contacts are stuck in my Torch 9800.
When I go to plug the Torch in to Desktop manager to get the contacts saved to there and then sync over to my new handset the Torch is so dead that DManager won't even read/recognise it. My network say since this is not an issue with network etc they can't really help and gave me a number for Blackberry services in England somewhere (they are office hrs so can't phone until Monday morning).
Please can someone help? I have my new 9360 all up and running but my contacts are stuck in my Torch and that is the only place they are? DManager won't recognise the Torch because it is dead - except the two flashing lights - and therefore won't let me at the contacts that way.
ANY help would be appreciated - please not too techinal as not great with all of that side of things!
    Sorry for the long post.

  • Can you change the legth of time (or number of rings) it takes for on iphone 4 to time out making an outgonig call?

Can you change the legth of time (or number of rings) it takes for on iphone 4 to time out making an outgonig call?
Mostly it's to call in for radio contests. The Iphone is really good at making a quick call, but it seems to timeout after 15-20 rings. I realise this is a small thing, but free tickets is free tickets.
Most commenst I see is abotu incoling calls, not outging.
    Thanks.

No. You can't do this with any phone.
