Blank From Address Source IP 255.255.255.255

hi,
I tested Exchange 2007 for open relay and it shows relay closed on all the tests.
even then, I see a really large amount of emails per minute (SPAM) stuck in the message queue.
they all have 3 thing in common besides being SPAM.
- From Address is BLANK. shows as <> in Exchange Queue Viewer
- Source IP of those emails is all the same and it's not valid 255.255.255.255
- 95% say Undeliverable: in the Subject line
Anyone else is having this issue? how do I block emails originating from IP 255.255.255.255 or all emails with a blank From Address.
if those emails are simply emails sent by the my server to spammers to notify them the addresses it sent to are invalid, is there a way to not send a NDR for flagged spams? or everything in general?

We are having this issue as well.
I tried setting up the following Transport Rule, but still had the problem:
Apply rule to message
when the Subject field contains Undeliverable:
silently drop the message
except when the From address contains @
I thought this would have resolved the issue, but it has not.
I suspect these are emails sent from an external source (for example spamdomain.com) using a spoofed email address that is in my domain (for example [email protected]). If it turns out that it can't be delivered, the Undeliverable message comes back to our server but cannot be delivered to bob because he doesn't exist on our system.
Anybody have any ideas? TIA!

CSM 12 hour stickiness from two source addresses

We have an environment where the traffic only originates from two source IP addresses (shared port forwarders). The server group need a 12 hour stickiness window for the Citrix sessions to be hitting the same server.
If we have two servers, ServerA and ServerB, this is the problem.
When maintenance is performed on ServerA. All traffic is sent to ServerB. When ServerA is back in operation the traffic does not use this server due to the sticky timeout of 720 minutes.
Is there anyway to clear the connections from one source on the CSM so the processing of packets will spread the load between the two servers?

clearing the connections without clearing the sticky table is useless. Because the sticky entry will simply forward the new connections back to the same server.
Also, there is no way to clear a particular sticky entry.
Finally, I think the solution for you would be to create static sticky entry.
You can force a client ip to go to a specific server.
If the server is down for maintenance, the CSM will simply select another one but will go back to the initial one if available.
To configure static entries, use the following commands
sticky 66 netmask /32
static client source x.x.x.x real x.x.x.x

EBP purchase order status is comming as blank from last 5 months

Advance thanks for BW experts.
Here is the issue I am facing.
We are extracting shopping cart data from EBP(SRM) daily.
We are using Data source as '0BBP_TD_PO_1' in SRM.
In BW it is coming to ODS '0BBP_PO' for collecting data.
Info source we are using is '0BBP_PO_TD_1'.
The problem is EBP(SRM) Purchase order status coming as blank from last 5 months, we are using every thing standard objects, no routine, i checked in BW side. I found that purchase order status field coming as blank from SRM. It seems to some problem in extractor?.
If any one experts in SRM-BW please help me on this how to proceed?.

Changes Transmitted Obviously we dont report on all these statuses in BW but release rejected might be an important status and BATA (customer no: 169433) needs this status to be extracted through the PO extractor. I am changing the extractor code for this status. In future we can enhance this note to take care of other statuses relevant for BW. For now other statuses seems to be not usufull for BW reporting.

How/can I change the "from" address in Mail?

I just upgraded to Mountain Lion, and have come across a problem.
I use iCloud for my mail account, but I want to change the "from" address - so the return address on my messages is NOT icloud.
I could do this in Lion.
In the mail account settings, there's an option that says "alias" and it lists (me)@mac.com, (me)@me.com and (me)@icloud.com, and then "custom" is an option.
Great!
So I choose Custom, and then I can type in the "from" address that I want.
However, when I go to save those changes, it tells me the SMTP server can't be left blank.
What?
It's not blank! I didn't touch it. The icloud server is still there!
Furthermore, it's greyed out, so even if it WERE blank, it's not like I can edit it!
Once this happens, the only fix is to delete the whole account from mail, and to disable mail in the icloud control panel, then re-add it.
Has anyone figured out to work around this?

Apple's outgoing mail server - just like 99.9% of all other SMTP servers, does not allow "relaying", meaning you use a domain in the 'sent from' address that is different from a domain hosted by the server. The simple reason is to make it harder for any spammer - not assuming you are one - to abuse the server. While bandwidth, server capacity and server load are some issues, the main fear for ISPs is to get blacklisted, and consequently mails from such server being refused by all others.
It's a general rule, and while exceptions might be technically possible, it would be a manual act which at a certain rate would become unmanageable.

You see, it's actually good behavior and absolutely in your interest to prevent you from using a "non-in-house" 'sent from' address.

NW 7.3 + iView from remote source wizard + R3 Web Dynpro ABAP, not working

I think this forum is my last resort.
I'm running NetWeaver 7.3 Enterprise Portal and also have an existing ECC6 on backend.
Our ABAP Programmer has built some WD4A application on ECC, I'd like to made them available
on EP as ABAP WebDynpro iView.
From the document, I know the way to create ABAP WD iView is different since 7.3. I have to use "iView from remote source" to do it.
On EP side, I have made an system alias (test ok) for ECC, assigned permission, provide mapping id/pwd, and test.
On ABAP side, all webdynpro app are activated (T-code sicf, /sap/bc/webdynpro, /sap/public/bc/webdynpro...). I can even test WAS by bringing up browser and access some sample ABAP webdynpro .
However, I cannot success on "iView from remote source" wizard and it always show me "Nothing found. Check your search Criteria.".   Eventhough I use "*" as search criteria.
Anyone has the similar situation ? I even doubt that it is a placeholder of a feature , not working for now. Anyone made it work on NW 7.3 ?

I also assign a group to have "read" and "user" permission to this system
Also assign Alias to the system.
I also create a user belong to the group, assign his system mapping an ECC user ID & PWD to it.
I tested the System alias, it is working (both WEB AS test, and R3 test)
Then I try to create an iView on EP, under a PCD folder , new->iview->iview from remote source. A wizard show up. Then I can select the ECC alias just created, and provide * as application search criteria, and then select "WEB DYNPRO ABAP" as the application type. Then "GO"
as I mentioned, it always show "Nothing Found. Check your search crieteria"
But I'm sure the web dynpro applications are activated on R3.

I feel confident about the backend R3 system because I can use the WAS URL to access the sample WD4A application, for example, I can bring up the wd4a application ui in my browser. It is purely browser and R3 stuff, no EP involved.

Parrallels/ VMWare with Windows 7 64 bit from Free Source (Installing)

I am still a rather new Mac user and making the transition from Windows. Unfortunately, there are numerous, small programs that I am still relying on that is virtually only compatable with Windows (using wineskin seems unstable for these programs). So, instead of letting go of Windows completely, I'd like to get Windows on my Mac (which was a huge selling point for me when I got my Mac). I have attempted to install Windows XP Pro using the latest version of VMWare - this was unsuccessful for some reason. I have decided to make a second attempt at installing Windows using either Parrallels or VMWare, however this time using Windows 7 64 bit Full Version. The only hold up in following through is obtaining the Windows 7 software. Looking into getting the best price I have found plenty of websites offering ISO downloads for Windows 7. Unfortunately, the official Microsoft website does not sell Windows 7 any longer. Thus before taking the dive into buying the software from a source like Staples, OfficeMax, or any other place, I am wondering how legit these websites are (please see the websites below). In no way am I trying to be cheap, however, if this is something that is legit, I thought "why not". The attention grabber for looking into these websites (website #3) was the explanation of the Service Package 1 files not being included on the software disc when purchased. Whether this would make a difference or not when installing Windows 7 on my Mac or not, I would not know.

Encoding Failed- Could Not Read from the Source

I have a quickly approaching deadline for the short film I am working on, and it would be greatly appreciated if anyone knew anything of my predicament. Everytime I try to export anything from Premiere Pro (CS4 of course), when I start the queue it says "Could Not Read from the Source. Please check if it has been moved or deleted." The files, of course, have not been moved or deleted, and the raw footage for the film is in the same place as everything else. All my scratch disks are set to the same folder, etc. I don't understand, and it won't even let me export to my camera. It says it does, but when I check my camera, it's nothing but blank tape. Any (quick) help would be very much appreciated!

File Sharing - Cannot disconnect or add user from Address book

Hi all,
Had a look through the support pages but haven't found an answer to this issue I am having....
I have recently wired a LAN between my macbook and a friends macbook. My problem is that I "connected' to my macbook using my username and password from the other computer. Once the computers were connected (and file share is switched on) he had full access to my hard drive (which was what I expected). However, we are unable to 'disconnect' the file share connection without disabling the file share option within system settings! The password was not saved in his keychain. Whenever we connect the computers he has full access to my drive!
In our case it is simple enough to ensure security as the example is simply to solve, however, the wider implications of not being able to manually disconnect from a source are obvious. Has anyone else encountered this problem?
The second problem I have is that I am unable to added a named user to the 'file sharing' user list. When I choose the user from my address book the mac asks for a password. Once this is entered and accepted the window disappears but no name is added to the file share list!
Apologies if these seem idiot problems but they are slowly driving me mad!!

I have had zero problems with Mail in Snow Leopard - it's been rock solid and very reliable for me.
I sort of cured the AddressBook problem but I have no idea why it works and I am not happy with my fix. What I did was deleted the contents of ~/Application Support/AddressBook and ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.AddressBook and ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.addressbook.plist. I then rebooted and opened up AddressBook. The database was empty except for Apple and my own card which OSX creates by default. I then attempted to create a new contact and all of my old contacts magically appeared! I then deleted the new test contact and edited the contact I was originally trying to add a phone number to. I then quit address book and re-launched it and the new phone number was still there! I checked console.log and there were no errors reported this time (previously I was getting lots of error messages each time I quit and re-launched AddressBook.
I have no idea where those contacts came from since I cleared out the entire database and the cache, but whatever happened, it seems to work now.

Drag card from Address Book adds a row?

I have a small table in an estimating spreadsheet into which I can drag a card from AddressBook.app. That populates the table with name, address, etc., providing info that is picked up elsewhere in the file. In my old template, this worked fine. But I must have changed something (or perhaps it's just the new Numbers '09 update) because now when I drag a card, Numbers inserts a new row to hold the card's info, pushing everything on the page down to make room.
Does anyone know why it's doing this, and how I can turn that "feature" off? Thanks!

More on this subject: As a test, I dragged a single V-card from Address Book into a blank area of a spreadsheet. As it's supposed to, Numbers created a table with all the card's information.
I then deleted the data but left the header row exactly as Numbers created it. Then I dragged the same V-card back onto the now-blank cells. This time, it added TWO new rows. One above the data and one below.
Weird behavior, eh? Anyone else seeing this kind of thing happening?

Extra blank lines in source code

I have built a website in Dreamweaver CS4 and have a client editing pages in Contribute CS5. Both of us are working on Windows 7, and the site is hosted on Linux. When she makes edits to the page, something is introducing a GAZILLION blank lines in the source code. A typical page for this site is about 380 lines of code. The problem page is now more than 310,000 lines code with 100-200 blank lines between every "real" line of code. What the...?!
I need to know how to stop this and how to remove the blank lines from the source code using Dreamweaver.

We've got two separate issues here, but I think we have the solution to both.
1. How to stop Contribute from adding blank lines in the code, and
2. How to clean up a GAZILLION lines of blank code in a document.
First, Number 1. I assume you're working in Dreamweaver. If not, I'm not sure how to guide you. But, when you define a Contribute Site, there is an area to specify administrative roles and permissions. Under each Role, at the bottom, you will see a popup for what kind of server the site is hosted on. The default is Windows. I had to change this to Unix (Linux) to match the hosting of our problem site. Find out what platform your host is using. You will have to specify this under each admistrative Role. After doing this, I had the client make some edits, then I opened the files in Dreamweaver. No new blank lines. I admit, I still have my fingers crossed somewhat.
Okay, now how to clean up your source code and remove blank lines. A developer friend found this on some forum I had not seen. I don't know where, but I am grateful to the person who wrote it. It didn't get all the blank lines in my files, but I think some of the others, which I removed manually, were probably from the client pasting content in from Word. Here's what to do:
1. Open the file in Dreamweaver
2. Click CTRL + F, or go to EDIT > FIND AND REPLACE
3. Select "Current document" in "Find In" (You can also select the folder if you have multiple files.
4. Search in "Source Code"
5. Check the box labeled "Use regular expression"
6. Type "[\r\n]{2,}" (without quotes) in "Find"
7. Type "\n" (without quotes) in "Replace"
8. Press "Replace All"
The operation chugged for a few minutes with my 301,000-line document. Yours may a take a little longer, but it did work. Good luck!

On my iPhone I've set up gmail as an Exchange accout and when I send an e-mail, my from address appears to be the one I select as default address in gmail preferences.
Is there any way to achieve this in Mac OSX Lion's mail application?

Yes it will work, follow the bellow steps,
Steps
1) Create a blank database in Microsoft Access, lets call it 'TestDB.mdb'. I saved this mdb file in my XI server path itself,
xiserver\xitemp\db\TestDB.mdb
(you can save it anywhere provided it has a shared access)
2) Add a table in TestDB.mdb, call it TEST_EMPLOYEE with the following rows and save it.
EMPID type text
EMPNAME type text
EMPAGE type number
FLAG type text
3) Now follow the same steps as mentioned in the blog,

except for the receiver jdbc adapter configuration.
4) In the receiver JDBC adapter configuration pass the following parameters,

Keeping the album songs order, when importing songs from different sources

Hello
I imported lots of songs into my itunes library from various sources (itunes store, CD's, and audio files converted from my vinyl records) This way, songs from a specific artist, and sometimes from a specific album, could come from different sources.
Now, I hope to arrange all the songs from a specific album to appear in the appropriate order, but I just can't find a way of doing this! The songs just appear in the way iTunes sorts them, without any relation to the original order of the album. Even more, in the iPod itself, the order changes once again with no appearant reason! (Interestingly enough, when I import all the songs of a specific album from one source, the order is kept)
I tried changing the names on the files in itunes to include serial numbers (01, 02 and so on, at the names of the songs). but then again, for some reason, no order is kept.
How can I sort the songs in the album according to the proper order? I don't want to use a special playlist for each album.

iTunes sorts things in thew following way (based on having the correct ID3 tag info)
Album > Disc number > Track Number
if you sort things by Album
iTunes does NOT take anything from the file name unless no ID3 tag info is present in the file, then you will see the file name appear as the track name and all other fields blank. ID3 tags are the way most meta-data is handled noawadays.

Because your HP ENVY 5530 e-All-in-One Printer is producing blank prints from three computers when printing from the the internet I'm wondering if there may actually be a hardware ink system issue occuring. I understand that this may sound odd as everything else appears to print fine. However, when printing from your computers colour ink is used to enrich the black ink when printing in certain programs. Primarily when the computer 'sends' the print job to the printer as an image file. Therefore, just to ensure that your printers ink system is functioning properly, I am going to have you print a standalone Print Quality Report.
How to Print the Quality Report:
Load plain white paper in the paper tray.
On the printer control panel, touch the Settings icon (), and then touch Tools. The Tools Menu displays.
Touch Print Quality Report. The printer prints the test page.
If this report prints perfectly: Than the issue that you're experiencing is not related to the printer. Rather, there is likely a setting that still needs to be checked under Google Chrome. If your modem/router was causing this issue all prints would be affected.
If this report prints with quality defects or missing colours: Than the Google Chrome printing issue that you're experiencing is being caused by your printer. To resolve this print system issue can I please have you click here. Once the support document opens please run through Solution six, Solution seven, and Solution eight. This includes any sub-steps under the listed Solutions.
Please let me know the result of printing this standalone Quality Report. I look forward to hearing from you!

Iphone won't synch e-mail addresses from address book

Strangest thing- My e-mail addresses in my address book are listed on my computer, but not on my iphone. Even after syncing in itunes under info "all contacts" sync and under advanced replace address book from this computer onto iphone...
The e-mail addresses show up in address book on my computer, but the same exact contact is missing the e-mail address on the iphone... makes it annoying to write e-mails...

Couple things I advise
1. Launch Address Book - Go to File - Export - Address Book Archive - Save to where you can find it
This will backup Address Book
2. If possible wipe out all contacts from the iPhone and Sync it over fresh, If this takes to much time then move down to option 3
3. Before going further. Take the backup file you made earlier burn it to a disk or something for safe keeping. But keep the file where u can access it when needed.
Now delete all contacts from Address Book, Now in iTunes go to Advanced and tell it to Sync contacts. This should Wipe out iPhone with blank data as there is now no data in AB.
4. Now take the backup file you made earlier. Double click and restore database. All contacts will return. Now Sync to iPhone.
If none of this works you may need to restore iPhone as a new iPhone and do a fresh sync.
