Blank Space at Bottom of Inserted Code

It appears to me as a bug.
See example here:

Try padding it on top with a single shift+Enter after clicking the codeblock editor's [insert] button.  That way you won't need to use the html editor.  It's how I just got the result above.
Or if you like html editing, then pad it with a <br> or two ordinary Enters (the first gets stripped upon clicking [update] ).
Thanks, I think I'm going to start using this. One liners have looked pretty odd since the codeblock height was enforced.

  • Blank space at bottom of page in FF

    I was sent some code to put a CMS system behind.
    But on testing the content on the div elements I have found I have blank space on the bottom of the page.
    I know this is caused by position:relative;
    but I thought using this was the correct way to display two divs side by side left and right column.
    If I take it off the video on the right column goes off too far right.
    I am testing on IE 8 and FF 3.5

  • Pictures leave blank space at bottom of 4x6 paper

    When I print pictures with photosmart C4680 on hp advanced 4x6 photo paper some of the pictures leave a blank space on the paper.  It seems like it starts to print before the paper is loaded the whole way into the printer.  The picture seems to be slid off to the left leaving a blank space on the right (or at the bottom).  It does not do it on every picture and the amount of space differs from picture to picture.

    I have the same problem with a Photosmart D7360.  Looks like the image is displaced 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch.  Does this for some pictures in a folder during a single print session but not others, and persists in doing this to those specific picture files when I repeat the print effort.  Seems entirely random and is entirely frustrating.

  • Changing text within frames without adding space at bottom

    Anyone know if there's a method for changing text within frames so that the successive text automatically flows into position without creating blank space at bottom of that current or a subsequent frame?

    Peter,
    You can combine the discussions if you want.  I actually deleted a sentence beginning the second discussion explaining that it was related to the first.  I thought it might impede the discussion.
    Let me describe my problem more completely.  I'm adjusting a book that was carefully crafted using frames for each page so that the text extended to the bottom of each page (frame).  This often splits text within a paragraph between two pages.  This was done so that the customer doesn't feel they are purchasing any blank space and for the aesthetic purpose of filling each page with text.  The only exception is the beginning of new chapters or sections.
    The problem is that I want to change a word here and there in preexisting paragraphs.  When I do, space often one-third the page length is generated at the bottom of a page (frame).  To fill that space and extend text to the bottom of the page again requires -given my current understanding of options- selecting the paragraph (beginning on one page and completed on the second) that has become interrupted by the blank space and performing a "keep lines together" option.  Unfortunately, this usually generates new blank space on a subsequent page, requiring a new "keep lines together"; in a seemingly unending regress of this procedure.
    What I require is a method enabling me to add text within a paragraph that will avoid the generation of the blank space by flowing the subsequent text (composing one or more paragraphs and splitting a paragraph between pages if required) to the end of the page; completely filling the page without requiring any use of "keep options" or whatever.

  • Simple??? Want "INSERT" function to return blank space after a field, how?

    All,
    Am I just having a brain fart? I have a situation where I have a field that needs to return just one space, or a value that has a space before and after it.
    Example:
    In the text ==> I am<field>going to the office. <-- notice no space between am, <field> and going
    I want it to say if FALSE, then "I am *not* going to the office."
    If true, then "I am going to the office."
    If true, I'm simply RETURN(""); <-- This returns a blank space
    If FALSE, I have tried:
    ret="not"
    RETURN(" " & ret & " ");
    This returns "I am notgoing to the office". <-- Notice no blank space after "not"?
    I've tried
    ret="not";
    ret2=(" " & ret);
    RETURN(Insert(ret2, 3, " "));
    Still the same result. What's strange is, if I do a RETURN(Insert(ret2, *2*, " "));, then it returns "I am no tgoing to the office" <-- Notice the space between the "o" and the "t"?
    Ideas?

    Trailing spaces are often removed from data. In your case, the easiest thing to do will be to use what is called the "hard space" character instead of a "real" space. This is key code ALT+0160. For all intent and purposes, it looks like a space and will print as a space, but since it is not technically the space (0032) character, it will not be trimmed from your projects. Just open the quotes, turn off the NUMLOCK and hold down the ALT key and type 0160 and then release the ALT key. This will add the hard space into your string. Then if you are like me, you will have to remember to turn the NUMLOCK back on.
    " not "
    I'm not sure how this will post into this message, but the example above is using hard space characters.

  • How do I get rid of the blank space at the bottom of the new Firefox menu?

    The new firefox 4 has a different menu system. IT has blank space at the bottom wiht just a plus sign that opens new tabs. I can get that from the + sign by the tabs and don't want it or the rest of the blank space on the bar. I need all the space in the main window I can get. How do I get rid of this?
    Found my own answer, disable Conduit Engine toolbar, whatever the heck that is. Why it's enabled to start with is beyond me.

    Hi stephanie,
    These are unrelated questions/statements.
    Space before and space after a paragraph are controled in the Text Inspector, as you've found out.
    Pages will create a page break whenever there is no room for another line on the page. That break can come anywhere in a paragraph.
    You may be thinking of Widow and Orphan prevention, and the other Pagination controls, found under the More button in the Text Inspector. (If that's what you found, then thanks for the refresher! I hadn't been to that pane for awhile, and had forgotten the variety of pagination controls available.

  • Blank spaces in code view

    Hello,
    Whenever I copy and paste text from another website -- sometimes from my own website after it goes live -- onto Dreamweaver, the text looks just fine in Design view. Fonts and paragraphs are preserved, as they're supposed to according to my preferences.
    However, when I look at the code view, there are always several -- sometimes a whole lot of -- blank spaces separating words; blank spaces that were not in the original text (even in code view) and that can't be detected in Dreamweaver's design view.
    It looks ok online just like it looks ok in Dreamweaver's design view, but I'm just a little concerned that those blank spaces may confuse search engine crawlers.
    For instance. In design view and online, one sees:
    "Great Holiday"
    but in the code view/source page you'll see
    "Great                    Holiday"
    That's what the crawlers and spiders will see as well. And they may think that "Great Holiday" and "Great                    Holiday" are two different sets of keywords when they should be the same.
    How can I ensure that only *one* blank space is allowed in Dreamweaver's code view, whenever I copy and paste text from webpages? Is there a way that I can preserve the texts' format and fonts while ensuring *one* blank space in code view?
    Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

    No, actually this is what happens:
    If one of us copies text from our blog online (www.altfg.com/blog/) we see the following in Dreamweaver's design view:
    Right behind Clash of the Titans, DreamWorks Animation’s How to Train Your Dragon, featuring the voices of Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, and
    America Ferrera, earned $3.8 million (+9.2%) domestically on Thursday,
    but in code view there are blank spaces between words. Blank spaces that shouldn't be there:
    <p>Right behind <em><strong><a href=
    "http://www.altfg.com/blog/movies-431/clash-of-the-titans-box-office-predictions/"
    >Clash       of the Titans</a></strong></em>, DreamWorks Animation’s <em>How to   Train Your Dragon</em>, featuring     the voices of <strong>Jay Baruchel</strong>,<strong> <a href=
    "http://www.altfg.com/blog/photos/bradley-cooper-gerard-butler-andrew-r-jones-810/"
    >Gerard       Butler</a></strong>, and <strong>America Ferrera</strong>, earned     $3.8 million (+9.2%) domestically on Thursday, </p>
    Notice the blank spaces separating "featuring      the voices" or "Gerard       Butler." Those shouldn't be there. Maybe it makes no difference. On the browsers, it all looks fine. But is there a way to ensure that Dreamweaver doesn't allow more than one blank space between words in code view?
    Also, *no one* has responded to my query about automatic hyperlinks for images. Any ideas?
    That has been such a drag.

    Thank you.

  • When I print a Word document to a shared printer, print preview looks fine but the printed page has too much blank space at the top and doesn't print the bottom few lines.

    When I print a Word for Mac document to a shared printer (that is connected to my iMac) from my Macbook Pro, print preview looks fine but the printed page has too much blank space at the top and doesn't print the bottom few lines.  I have tried to adjust the margins and the page setup settings but to no avail.  It used to print fine until recently.  Is there a way to fix it so that the printer prints what print preview shows?

    I should add that when I e-mail this document to myself and print it directky from the iMac, it prints fine.

    either drag the End of Song marker to the end of the clip:

  • How to get rid of all the blank empty white space at bottom of photoshop palettes?

    on a large screen the palettes can have big tall empty white spaces below the last imput.  Sometimes the corner size adjustment box is off the screen
    and I want to eliminate the empty space..
    Can I eliminate this extra blank space (without changing display resolution)?  Why is it there?

    When I take a screen shot     see attached    It shows the bottom of the, in this case, layers and channel, patettes but it is not actually visible or accessible on  my cinema 30" screen.  I know I can change the resolution so the size adjustment boxes can be reached and resize the white space away in that manner, but I like the resolution as is 2048 x1280 for my bad eyesight and continually resizing seems like wasted effort.  There is no purpose for the extra white space so I want to make it so the palettes only show what is in them.  Probably not possible?
    separate  issue:  can you make it so the tool bar is alway in the front?  Why should it ever be behind anything?

  • How to insert  blank spaces at end of a record

    Hi All,
    i need to write 10 records each of 80 char size. of these 10 records, each record might have different data and the last field will be a filler field which only has space.
    for example:
    DATA : BEGIN OF gs_mrecord        ,
             id(1)         VALUE'M'     ,
             accno(12)                  ,
             refid(2)      VALUE 'RR'   ,
             sec_cd(4)     VALUE '2437' ,
             sub_typ(1)    VALUE '6'    ,
             sub_dt(5)                  ,
             sub_seq_no(1)              ,
             sec_cd1(4)    VALUE '2437' ,
             sub_dt1(6)                 ,
             record_no(6)  TYPE n       ,
             ext_ind(1)                 ,
             plat_id(1)                 ,
             filler_1(1)               ,
             clear_code(3)              ,
             ex_merc_no(16)             ,
             filler_4(4)               , fill blank spaces
             mech_bin_no(6)             ,
             filler(6)             ,  " fill blank spaces
             END OF gs_mrecord .
    like this there are 10 types with 80 char size, however the last field is a filler, in which we need to fill only blank spaces.
    when i wrtie this data to the application server file i can't see the spaces and when download(to .TXT file) also i can't see the spaces.
    is there anyway that i can keep the spaces at the end of the record.
    Please note, in the middle of the record, we can keep the spaces as there is some data after that.
    Any hint would be of great help.
    Cheers,
    SR.

    Hi Srinivas
    Just a thought, try as below:
    Declare a text variable of length 80 characters. Before transferring the record to Output file, move the work area to the text field and add a New Line character at 80th position. Now tranfer this text field to file with length specification.
    Eg:
    DATA: l_cr(1) TYPE c VALUE cl_abap_char_utilities=>cr_lf,
          l_text(80) TYPE c.
    OPEN DATASET ....
    IF sy-subrc EQ 0.
       LOOP AT <itab> INTO <wa>.
          MOVE <wa> TO l_text.
          l_text+80 = l_cr.
          TRANSFER l_text TO <dsn>.
       ENDLOOP.
    ENDIF.
    Hope that helps, also check the codepage in which you download the file from Application server before Viewing. Maybe checking the file contents via AL11.
    Hope it helps.

  • How to insert blank spaces in XML tag?

    Hi Experts,
    I have a variable of type char and lenght 10 with value "ABCDE".  When I write this value in xml tag <TEXT> using simple transformation it ignores the trailing blank spaces and the result xml string looks as <TEXT>ABCDE</TEXT>.
    I want the xml tag with trailing blank spaces i.e. it should be like <TEXT>ABCDE     </TEXT>. And suppose if the variable does not contain any value, the xml tag should contain 10 blank spaces like <TEXT>          </TEXT>.
    I have tried using the solution given in this link
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/44/f52846257a0485e10000000a155369/frameset.htm
    but unfortunately it doesn't work.
    Please guide me to achieve this.
    Regards,
    Ravi

    ABAP prog:
    DATA: text(10)    TYPE c VALUE 'ABCDE',
          xml_xstring TYPE string.
    CALL TRANSFORMATION z_test SOURCE root = text
                            RESULT XML xml_xstring.
    WRITE xml_xstring.
    Transformation:
    <?sap.transform simple?>
    <tt:transform xmlns:tt="http://www.sap.com/transformation-templates">
    <tt:root name="ROOT"/>
    <tt:template>
          <Text tt:value-ref="ROOT"/>
    </tt:template>
    </tt:transform>
    Result in xml string:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?>#<Text>ABCDE</Text>
    Also tried transformation using:
    <tt:template>
          <Text>
               <tt:value length="10" ref="ROOT"/>
          </Text>
    </tt:template>

  • How do I clear the blank space between content and footer?

    In the process of revising a Muse website, I deleted some content from one of the pages and revised the content that remained on the page. Now I have a blank area between the bottom of the revised content and the top of the footer, and I can't seem to get rid of the blank space. It doesn't appear that there are any text blocks or other images in that area, so I can't find any objects to delete. Help?
    The website is currently published in a draft mode for client review. You can examine it at: http://page7creative.com/clients/coremove_jun2012draft/retreats.html. The page in question is the Retreats page. Restarting Muse made no difference. I work on the Mac platform.
    Before I sent this post, I decided to try creating a new page, then copy/paste the content onto the new page, and save the Muse site under a different name. Lo and behold, the page (and the site) works like it should...without any extra space above the footer on that page. It would appear that something went astray when I deleted content on that page. I can use the new page to get the site working properly, but decided to go ahead and send this post so that you can look at the page code and perhaps see what is wrong that is causing the blank space...in case I ever run into this again.
    Thank you.
    pyxis83

    Thanks for sending your file.
    There is a graphic at the bottom of the content area of the Retreats page that's been cropped to a size of zero width and 2 pixels in width.
    Unfortunately, there's a bug with pointer tool drag selection (aka marque selection) that prevents it from selecting an item that has zero width or zero height. Therefore the easiest way to select this item to delete it is to select any other item on the page, then hit the tab key repeatedly to cycle through every item on the page. When you get to this item you should see a little pile of selection handles at the left edge of the third column and right at the bottom of the content area. The width and height will display as zero and 2. Delete this item and the page will resize to fit the remaining content.
