Blank to 0 in reports

Hi friends.
I am running a report for certain periods and for a particular period i dont have any values in cube so it is showing blank in reports but i want to convert those blank values in reports to 0 is it possible

for which field u r getting blankvalues do u know then u go for transfer routine at transferstructure level it self
RESULT = TRAN_STRUCTURE-/BIC/ZC_QTY (assume ur field is zc_qty).
REPLACE ' ' WITH '0' INTO RESULT.
pls try with this ,it may helpful for u.

Hiding the blank cells in Webi report - BO 4.0

Hi,
I have created a webi report in which i have used different types of blocks
1) Form table
2) Verticle table
3) Horizontal table.
so now in real time there chances that some of the blocks will not have any data.(i.e it displays blank cell) in the report.
so now i have to hide only the blank cells and not the table headers.that means though the cells are blank i have to display headers.
what formatting changes i need to achieve this in Webi Report.
If anybody does this please let me know the step by step logic in detail.

Hi,
We cannot hide specifc cells in WebI, however we can choose to whether to display or not empty measure values and empty dimension value.
So you need to select the desired block-> Right Click and Select Format Table-> Uncheck Show rows with empty dimension values or Show rows with empty measure values whichever is required to be hidden.

One recommendation I make, when troubleshooting suppression issues, is to put a visible border of the section, area or object to be suppressed, and borders for all objects contained in the section or area. This will help isolate what's suppressed, and whether the section is truly blank or has content that's blank.
Furthermore, I recommend indicating which SDK and what version you're using when posting.

Excel export contains a blank row for the Report Header

Hi,
I am getting a blank row as the first row in my SSRS report when exported to excel. I have already taken care of following things,
1. I have hidden all of the Page Header items using Globals
2. The position of Report Body Tablix is 0, that means there is no space between report header and Report Body.
I have developed this Report in SSRS 2012, please let me know if any more details are required. I think even after hiding Header Items, excel creates a placeholder for page header. I can't remove header from my reports as it is needed to be published in
pdf.

According to your description, you are getting a blank row as the first row in your excel report when you export the report to excel, you have hidden all the items in the Page Header by using the Globals, right?
This blank row is for the page header, although you have hidden all the items in it, but it will still display when export report to excel. Because we can’t hidden the page Header directly. Normally, we can hidden all the items in the page Header, So in
the design phase we can also see the blank area above the report body when preview.
We have an alternative way by add the “SimplePageHeaders” setting in “RSReportserver.config” file, after configuration the page Header will not display in the first row of the worksheet but is rendered to the Excel page header. In Reporting Services, the
“SimplePageHeaders” default value is “FALSE” and it indicates that the page header is rendered to the first row of the worksheet. In order to display the page header in the Header/Footer section of Excel, we need to set the “SimplePageHeaders” setting value
to “TRUE”. I did a test on my local machine and here are my steps:
Navigate to RSReportserver.config file: <drive:> Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer\RSReportserver.config.
Backup the RSReportserver.config file before modify it, open the RSReportserver.config file with Notepad format.
Set the Excel rendering extension code like this:

I have data for ten columns and after that i am getting a blank space, so my report is scrolling to right side without any data.How shall i remove the blank space.Any suggestions.For one more i am getting this only at the second page (Detail section)

I have a year column which is the last column in my detail section.If i don't get any value for that year column then i am not getting these blank space at the right side of my report.If i have value for the year column then i am getting blank space double the times to my report detail section.

Blank first page in reporting services

I have an SSRS 2008R2 report that displays a blank page in Report Manager but not in the PDF export. I have tried all of the online solutions I have seen but still haven't found the cause. About my setup is I have one rectangle overlapping
3 tablixes. I understand that I really need to have these 3 tablices contained within this rectangle, but I can't figure out how to do this for already existing tablices. Is this possible? And is this the cause of the extra blank page?

According to your description, you get an extra blank page in your report when viewing in Report Manager. But it works properly when exporting into PDF file. Right?
In this scenario, how does your report looks like in SSDT(developing environment)? Please check if you add any page break before the rectangle. Also please check a page size of the report. Make sure "Page Width >= Body Width + Left Margin +
Right Margin".

Printing Blank pages for SSRS Reports in Firefox browser

I have created an SSRS Report that works well on chrome, but when I use the site in Firefox the SSRS Page prints blank pages though the report displays properly. I have tried every thing like reducing table width. I am using the report viewer control.

Generally, if the report display properly in the browser, it should be also work well when we print the report. And I can’t reproduce the scenario in my own environment. As to this issue, I recommend that you can try to run it in compatibility mode or use
IE explorer to print the report.
If this issue still exists, please try to update the report viewer control to latest release and check this issue again.

How to remove blank pages from WebI Report in view page layout option

Hi,
I am working in Business Objects XIR2 environment. I have a WebI report with several sections. I need to show the report as a book with 69 sections (each section on new page). there are 69 sections on cost center and each cost center section has almost 10 sections embedded in it. When i see in regular view - I only see 69 pages but when I try to see in "View Page Lay out" option, there is one blank page added after each results page.
Please let me know how to remove this blank page. I need to give users the option to download the book as PDF on to their machine. Now, when I download to my machine, I see one blank page after each results page.

Jus convert your report in Page Layout mode and see if your first pafe is getting expand in the second page.
Now check if there are any cell going into second page.
- if there are any blank cell which is there after table.
you have to check formating very carefull.

Suppress embedded field blank lines in Crystal Reports XI is not working

Hi,
We have a text box in a Crytal Reports XI report which has address information in it as follows:
These are individual fields from the database. We check the "suppress embedded field blank lines" option for the text box and preview it in the designer and the suppression works as expected in that when the unit field is blank the whole address line isn't suppressed. However when we run this report using the Report Viewer control in a VB.NET 2005 application the whole address line is suppressed when the unit field is blank.
This appears to be a bug in the suppression logic when the Report Viewer is used to view a report. While yes we can embed a formula into the address line this adds extra maintenance and confusion which is not necessary as it works as expected in the report designer.
I have seen others which are having a similiar issue and the only suggestions are to create your own suppression using formulas, etc. which is only a bandaid and is not the best solution as the suppression works as stated in the designer but not in the viewer embedded in an application. Please indicate if this is a known bug and if this issue has been addressed and fixed in a new merge module.
We are running Crystal XI 11.5.0.313 for the report designer and have deployed the needed dlls to run the reports with our application using the CrystalReports11_5_NET_2005.msm merge module.

Blank csv from interactive report

I have an interactive report that shows the data just fine. but when I choose download and csv, I get a blank file, zero lenght. there is data in the report, but the download shows nothing. has anyone see this before? its just a standard report, nothing real fancy. it should be able to download data right?

it is apex is 4.0
I'm not sure of the database, I believe it is 11g
I have no clue as to the web server, I'd have to say whatever comes with 11g or apex. I don't have access rights to see that.
browser is IE 7 and firefox 3. both have the same issue.
I can't export it to a different instance at this time.. however, I created a new page, created a report in it and used a simple query, it allows me to download it. so something is odd about the actual report I have now. its a simple query, so I'm not sure what it wrong yet.
something must be interfering with the process.

But my scenario is that if i take three or more item then it take two page that's ok. on that case i have no problem,
but if i take only single item it will take two pages.
how can i remove unnecessary area.

It seems like your tax detail section is another sub report please compact the subreport if attached.
Right click on the object and select Format Object > checkbox "Supress Embedded Field Blank Lines"
Right Click on the section and click "Fit Section"

Bex Query not passing blank columns to crystal reports

good morning ladies and gentleman,
i have created a bex query that shows all employees from the master data table and links to the cats table to show absence hours...
in bex, all employees are showing and some of the employees have hours showing for sick time. very good...
i have created a report in crystal with this bex query and it does not show rows from the master data that do not have a link to the cats table. only the rows that have a link to the cats table are showing up.
the reason i need the master data from the employee table is that the users want to divide the total hours off(sick time) per department by the total employees in that department.
i have tried to create a formula that will add 1 to the hours sick field, then all the rows should have a amount in it. but, it still does not show the employees who do not have sick time.
here is the sql query from crystal.

Output shown blank when we run report in xml publisher using excel template

1) We have a requirement where we need to run report to shown 100 columns. Since Microsoft word supports only 63 columns. So we are building the report template in Excel.
2) When I run the report in Excel locally I get the output. But when I uplaod in BIP server and then run the report It gives a blank output.
BI Publisher version 10.1.3.4.1
BI Publisher Desktop version 11.1.1.5
Please look into the issue.

Pl post details of OS, database and EBS versions, along with the database characterset.
Are you creating PDF output ? Can you print Chinese characters when using US/UK operating units ? Are you using Pasta ?

Logic needed to print blank line in alv report

i want to logic one is
1) in alv report contains
a set of data contains 100 (5 datas)
and a set of data contain 200(5 datas)
i want to have one coloum containing serial no
ex for 100 i want to move no '5' to one coloumn ,but it should display only ones not for all 5 records.
same for 200 also i want to move 7 to this ,it should b displayed ones
i used for at new command alos its not working
2)suppose for particular date, 200 related records is not there
it should conatin blank line,displaying 'NIL'.

If you are using the function module REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY, then use the internal table it_sort with a row for the column where you want the suppression of repeated values.
2)
If you are using the function module REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY, then simply ensure that your internal table t_outtab has the rows that you need containing 'NIL'.
