Blazeds client can't keep up with realtime updates = discard?

Hi all,
I'm doing an application that provides realtime data to users via blazeds, the flex client uses a long pooling mechanism to get stream of data from the server. The question that my team has is, if multiple clients connected to a topic and one of the clients couldn't keep up with the rate of data produced, will the message be kept in blazeds until that client can retrieve it? If it is, then this will create a bottle neck for that particular client and will burden the server as more and more messages have to be kept in the server. Is there anyway to set an expiry time on a message and discard those messages?

I am also facing tghe same problem today. I cannot believe I
was unable to find a single help on this. i've been trying many of
the options but things are getting worse and worse. Now I can't
publish from Dreamweaver and Contribute also!! Why Adobe doesn't
support the ones who upgrade their software?

  • Why is it so hard for Firefox to keep up with "Snagit" update releases? The problem is in the scrolling capture (that hardly ever works) because FF is never able to keep up with any of their upgrades (or is that vice-verse?)

    One of the more predominant features/capabilities of "Snagit''
    (screen capture) software is its ability to perform scrolling captures. Unfortunately, with every update release (from Snagit) it takes Firefox at least two updates to capture the code to allow this function... to function!?
    Under normal conditions, it is understood that one should logically take this to the software manufacturer to accommodate the browser (Firefox), however, the (always) fix to the problem is in waiting for Firefox to release one of its later updates... it has never been while waiting for Snagit to revise a fix.

    You have it backwards, SnagIt needs to be compatible with Firefox.

    I have connected to the site myself with Contribute 3, and
    got a similar
    error: "you can't edit this site because you are already
    editing it on
    another computer"!!
    It gave me the option to "unlock" the page, which I selected,
    and I was
    then able to edit the page. However, my client still can't.
    Anyone got a solution to this?

  • Computer can't keep up with my typing, very slow to respond

    I've been noticing lately that I the computer has been dropping characters as I type. In other words, the words do not appear on the monitor as fast as I can type the characters and I'm certainly no speed typist. Sometimes, the cursor just stops moving even though I'm still typing and then when it starts moving again, it's missed several letters that I've typed. Or, I'll press a few keys and nothing shows up for a few seconds and then the last few keypresses pop up. I thought it was related to upgrading to 10.4.5, but I returned to using the back-up disk with 10.4.4 and it's still happening. Only other new item is a DSL modem, but don't know how that would slow down the whole system. Would appreciate troubleshooting suggestions on how to narrow down the cause!

    Have you installed any unusual fonts? Have you
    verified your fonts with FontBook (File > Validate
    Font)? I guess those things could slow down your
    typing.
    I haven't installed any fonts, unusual or otherwise, since this problem began.
    Have you checked in the Activity Monitor for
    processes that take up a lot of processor power?
    I did check in the Activity Monitor for processor hogs. After checking a link "Mac OS X: What are all those processes" I quit two processes that took up a lot of power and that seems to have helped quite a bit. I just don't know what those processes where, what started them, or how to keep them from coming back.

  • Poor Pathetic Safari :( can't keep up with the big boys

         Safari is the most pathetic product Apple has to offer. not only is the slow to load, but it can't seem to stop crashing. If your going to use a cloud based system that all your products can interactively communicate and utilize the common data, wouldn't you want to ensure the one product that is the hub of all things on the web was perfected and not so tempermental? get it together, this product has been such a problem. Surely there are people over in Apple land that know how to get it to function like the big boys.

    This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. First, disconnect all wired peripherals except keyboard, mouse, and monitor, if applicable, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
    Be sure your Mac is shut down.
    Press the power button.
    Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
    Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
    The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including your login items.
    Launch the application(s) and test. Same problem(s)?
    After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)

  • Can't Keep up with Typing

    Second attempt at this: the forum site keeps intermittently
    saying it's unavailable after I "Post Message" ...
    In Buzzword, typing backspace (on a line with some text on it
    already) followed immediately by typing a non-backspace character
    nearly always "drops" (i.e. doesn't "see") the character typed
    after the backspace.

    What browser are you using, and what version?
    What operating system are you running, and do you have all
    the latest updates?
    What version of Flash are you using?
    I tested using IE 6 and Firefox 3.0.1 and have the latest
    Flash and found no problems using backspace. Is this something
    you've been able to do without problems in the past, and if so what
    is new since you last were able to do this?
    As for getting the unavailable message after posting,
    clearing your cache may resolve that issue when it occurs.

    Hi All,
    I've just been hired in a new editing company where we are producing pictures in black and white to illustrate our book.
    The previous person that was occupying this position could manage the pictures workflow through bridge using a script that was in the Tools menu and use to select several picture and send them to photoshop to apply and converting script (black and white convesion).
    The problem I encounter on my session is that I can't send picture to this photoshop script using Bridge ... Can someone help me on this ?

    Thank you for your suggestion. I have Sync enabled for all the profiles. To my surprise, however, Sync was of no use in getting Default's extension collection into Shopping. For that I had to resort to the article http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox.
    I will try disabling Sync on Shopping.

  • ITunes keeps crashing with latest update when I try to sync my iPad and iPhone.  No issues syncing my ATV's.  Any suggestions?

    In fact, when I am in iTunes and click on either my iPad or IPhone it shows the sync options and ten within 10 or so seconds iTunes gets the "closed unexpectedly" error message.  Very frustrating....updated to latest iTunes version yesterday, and this issue started today.  Thanks in advance for your ideas.

    app crashing is very common.
    1) try downloading another app (any app) - sounds daft but it has worked in the past

    If search_string is null then char (the original) string will be returned.
    This means you do not have to check on the search_string being null.

  • Incompatible iOS 8 apps updating on my iPhone 4 that only supports iOS7. How can I keep the correct Apps?

    My iPhone 4 is running iOS7. When updating the apps they change to the latest version (8), not supported by my OS. Where are the iOS7 compatible versions? Why can't we keep versions that work? There should be a way that iTunes does not allow updates if there are compatibility issues.
    My device functions ok, so there is no need to update and financially I can not consider a change at the present time.
    (I am hoping other angry users having same issue, so we can unite, rant and create enough publicity to force Apple's hand. Power to the People! =D)

    I understand what your saying... all apps are saved to my library. When I click on update however, it just updates the app with no consideration of compatibility. Yes, they're third party. iTunes however is not.
    Apple does have control of iTunes, so theoretically could write simple code to determine version numbers and compatibility. It could then simply stop the updates that write over apps in the library. (It may be that the previous versions still reside on my system... I would love to know how to find them if they do...).
    By allowing 'no control', it then means that devices that are older will not be able to run functional apps. That is counter productive from a consumer base that can not keep up with the latest 'of everything'.

    That works if your only device is an iPhone 4 and you never plan on adding a newer device. However, I sync 5 devices with iTunes on my computer. I certainly want the latest version of apps for the devices that support it.
    You have the option of restoring an older version to the iTunes library from a backup (if you back up your computer regularly). With a Mac and Time Machine it's just a couple of clicks. Also, it's worth knowing that when iTunes updates an app it deletes the old version to trash (or recycle bin), so you can recover it from there up to the time you empty trash/recycle bin.
