Blender animated Vimeovideos

Hello. Today I run at a brand new iMac Intel 10.6.8 21.5 inch   64 bits and iMovie 11 version 9.0.2 (1099)
Every time I drag a Blender avi- animation from my  Vimeo-album in to iMovie, I got poor quality on my iMovie-videos.
If I buy Final Cut Pro X can I excpect better quality on my Vimeo stuff.  At Blender 2.5.8 I use  1280x720  H264xAVI. Vimeo convert them in to AVI -HD videos.
Thanks
Karl

I can get textures, but i cant get any animated textures to work.
Well, that would require PS to support animated textures in the first place, would it not? And it simply doesn't. That asisde it's a pretty nonsensical workflow - whatever you are trying to do by hopping between 3 programs could probably be done easily in Blender's comp/ shading tree with direct access to texture data, render passes and all that. Realyl. For everything else you might wanan check this old article of mine to get an idea about a workflow that actually makes sense and plays out the benefits of working with render passes...

Blender's Open Movie Projects have already proved that it's possible to produce stunningly high-quality 3D animated films exclusively using free software in a studio setting. Now, a new animated short film called Tube, inspired by the ancient epic poem of Gilgamesh, is expanding on that work to bring free culture to the masses. The Tube project is not merely evidence of the technical capabilities of free software tools like Blender, PiTiVi, and Fedora GNU/Linux, but living proof of their viability for independent filmmakers. The most impressive aspect of the project is that it has managed to come together through distributed collaboration between 56 artists from 22 countries — some of which are at war. Tube truly highlights the incredible unifying power of free software tools and a free culture model.
Within the first few days, Tube's Kickstarter campaign reached the minimal baseline goal of $22K and subsequently hit Slashdot. As the film enters the final stages of production, the Tube team needs as much support as they can get to make this story a huge success for free software, free culture, and independent animators everywhere. With the production funding target of $50K in sight and just a couple days left in the campaign, this is your last chance to support this ambitious undertaking and get your name in the film as a backer. There is enormous potential here; as Mashable questions, 'Will This Open-Source Animated Film Change the Movie Industry Forever?'
The film's public release is scheduled for 7 months from now along with all the assets, source, and project files under the free culture and copyleft Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC-BY-SA) licence. For an in-depth discussion with the team, check out this interview with the Tube project founders on Libre Graphics World.

    Hey Syd,
Sounds like a great project you are planning to venture into!
I would only suggest that you think heavily about the ratio of theory to practical teaching you give. It's a fine line, and an even finer one if you plan to meet that often. I'd think 2 nights a week would be more appropriate for that age group.
The reason I mention that is because, unlike you, these kids may not be 'deadset' on film as a career. Therefore, they aren't going to be quite as interested in spending hours upon hours on theoretical lectures. They will enjoy themselves much more if you give them a knowledge of the film industry, but more than anything make the experience fun-- I'm a university student studying film and communication, and as much as I love to learn about the ins and outs of filmmaking, there are tons of film students who just aren't that keen. Seems crazy, but that's how it goes.
If this isn't the senario that you are trying to achieve, then forget what I've just said. If these are truly KEEN young people who want to work at making a great production, then by all means teach it straight and hard. But, otherwise, make it a fun learning experience and a taste of what filmmaking can be.
I wish you all the best in your endeavor.

  • Can you change size of fonts in premiere pro user interface -- the text is often so small it is hard to read

The text is often so small it is hard to read.  It would be nice if as in the Blender animation program you can easily increase the size of fonts used in the program's user interface, through the "preferences" menu item.

    Hi Ewporter,
Sorry, sounds like an excellent feature request, though. Make it here: http://adobe.ly/feature_request

  • Website Examples Animation Templates for Blend & SketchFlow

    Hi All,
Apologies for asking stupid questions... I just don't have time spending years looking over white papers attempting to find or understanding all the changes, essentially name changes for marketing purposes.... IE:  1970's Mainframe Computing, Today's
    "The Cloud"  Very Exhausting!
I enjoy typical animated Flash Websites,  I know that there is a Microsoft product available that can do the same?  Need to verify what THAT IS?
    Silverlight? Blend? Expression?
Can someone please point me to some animated web templates? in either of these MS Products?
Expression is a great product,    Seems to me that SketchFlow is useless in VS2013 with Blend?  Why not just have SketchFlow features in blend so that we don't have to prototype, then have to open another project to actually build on
what we have just designed?  Why would I want to pre build or design something only to have to do it over again in another project in the same programming tool?  Can I finish up a project in SketchFlow to a fully working application or website?
    about as clear as mud...
Im very sure that most of you will not even understand what my problem is as being so confusing and convoluted?  which is exactly my point!  If the powers that be would make up their mind what they want to use as web development tools that would
    be a very helpful start.
I need an example full on website animation examples done in Silverlight, expression, VS2013Blend or whatever tools is now using.   Really? must be that funny plant.

Another thing is, my menu bar will be in a frame so I
need to also include target=MainFrameThat's a little deceptive, confused me for a few moments since Java has it's own "Frames" (and HTML frames are meant here). But I have no idea how to point at different frames from java, my understanding is that it comes from the html, not the url, so it may not be possible (at least not this way). Search for it (but you'll got lots of Java frames returned)
As for the different domains, have a look here:
    [url http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/java/applet/Applet.html#getCodeBase()]Applet.getCodeBase()
Returns the directory (and domain I assume) that your applet is in. And I just checked, www.something.com/someFolder/../index.html works fine for me.
So frames aside, this seems to be your solution. As long as everything is relative to the directory the applet's html page is in, it looks like it will work.
Careful though, it looks nasty if for some reason you manage to get your menu to load the page your menu is in, you might end up with more ../'s than you can poke a stick at (www.something.com/someFolder/../someFolder/../someFolder/../index.html)
    Good luck,

  • Anyone using Blender 3D animation software on Mac Book Pro??

    Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone was using a Mac Book Pro similar to my configuration for animation work with blender, and how they felt about it in terms of benchmarking. The reason Im asking is because the system gave me statistics on the video card as well as render time, and it stated something to the effect that the benchmark was useless. Now, granted, ideally I should be using a Mac Pro for this type of work but a lot of people have posted and have stated that they're doing just fine with similar systems, some even on slower machines. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Just want to get a feel of what running simulations and rendering times are and how the machine handles it.
I would also like to know best practices for using external hard drives and there connection to the system while working in 3D because i am running out of space on my internal hard drive and will have to invest in one soon.
    Best Regards,

Vm ware is another solution for windows, linux and unix virtualization. With ACt professional you may want a little more than virtualization. You should run bootcamp for the best of the best performance on that app. (They just released a new version of Bootcamp so even if you have it you may want to update it)

  • Animated gif and gradient color problem

    Hi there,
I have been trying to create animated gif with gradient background. My animation works alright but the problem is that when I preview either in browser or in the preview mode, the gradient doesnt look smooth. I want to know if there is a way to work around this? I have seen some on other websites and it looks perfect. I'm wondering how they do it.
    I'll appreciate anybody's help.

    Cobby Fred wrote:
I have to thank you all for your assistance so far. I must say I only know how to put some few things together and I do not understand some of the technical words you used such as dither, geometric dithering, blending mode... But in all I understand that if I blend colors that are close I'll get something close to smooth.
Here's Wikipedia's page on dither: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dither Scroll down till you see the images of the cats on the right-hand side. It's a little over half-way. In the original, the cat's pretty much a gradient. If that image is saved as a .gif, see how you get wide areas of color? It almost looks like a paint-by-number picture. This similar to what happens to your radial gradient when you save as .gif. I used the word "geometric," because the radial gradient will produce arcs of grey colors. The third image of the cat has dithering. This means that, instead of setting the colors in the original image to the closest one in the restricted palette, the software tries to figure out how to speckle the image to produce an average that would look better at a distance. Turning on dithering when you go to output your gradient will help make your image smoother, just as the third cat image is smoother than the second. Here's where you turn on dithering if you go through File > Image Preview:
Here I have my unflattened .png file
    No, it's flattened. It's a single bitmap.
Here's a noisy image I created. It has a radial gradient at the bottom then a texture layer that has it's visibility off, because I copied it to make a greyscale version to use. I've set that to have 25% opacity and a blending mode of Multiply. Both the opacity and blending mode controls are at the top of the layers panel. This is a FW .png (Edit, no, it isn't! The forum  has stopped supporting that! ):
If I export the gradient alone, without the texture layer, I can get this (settings are "64-color" greyscale palette and no dithering):
    or this (turning on dithering):
While the dithered image is better, it still shows the arcs. If I set the texture layer back visible, and export with dithering on, I get this:
The noise in the texture breaks up the geometric arcs, which makes the image look smoother. Any small texture will do that. Choosing the 64-color greyscale palette gives me either 22 or 26 colors. The 32-color palette gave me 12. You should experiment with the .gif palette settings to see what you like best. Remember that the more colors you assign to your background the fewer colors you have available for your foreground objects.
As a final point, the red text looks blurry. When I zoom in on it (400%), some of the lines are partially "broken," specifically the verticals on the L, T, and N. You might want to try a different font or adjusting the size so that the aliasing (mapping) to the pixels is cleaner. Italic text in small sizes is difficult to use.

  • Animated gif with Illustrator?

    Hi guys,
I am doing an sketch of a website using Illustrator. I am just Illustrator as if i were designing a magazine and i will later send the JPG to a programmer to "build up" the site.
Anyhow, the homepage has a flash effect which is just a frame that changes pictures by itself. I guess i can do it in Photoshop as a animated gif, but could i inserted later in Illustrator to show that effect to my client? Does the PDF have the possibility of having Animated gifs within? I might just send the sketches as a PDF.
    Thanks for any info!
    Sebastian

    Illustrator does not do animation.
Illustrator can export Layers and/or Blends as SWF step-by-step frames. Therefore, Sebastiao has two options:
    Deliver as SWF
    1. Put the several images to be used as animation frames on separate layers.
    2. Export as SWF. In the Export Options dialog, select AI Layers to SWF Frames. Click the Advanced button and select the other Layers as static.
    3. Deliver the SWF to the customer. Alternatively, if using Acrobat Professional, create a PDF Package that includes the SWF and deliver the PDF Package.
    Deliver as PDF
    1. Put the several images to be used as animation frames on separate layers. Turn off visibility of other layers.
    2. Export as SWF using Save For Web & Devices. Select Layers to SWF Frames. In the Save Dialog, select Images and HTML.You now have an HTML document which contains a SWF.
    3. Turn off the Layers that contain the animation frames. Turn on the other layers. Save a copy as PDF. (Use Smallest Size preset.)
    4. Open the PDF in Acrobat Professional.
    5. In Acrobat Professional, FIle>Create PDF>From Web Page. Navigate to the HTML file.
    6. Use Acrobat's Select Object Tool to select the animated SWF. Copy.
    7. In Acrobat, switch to the other PDF. Get the Select Object Tool. Paste the SWF. Save.
    8. Deliver the PDF to the customer.

  • How to diagnose flickering exported JS animations from Flash CC?

    Quick stats on my system:
Macbook Pro Retina 2012 running OSX 10.9.3
    Flash CC 13.1.0.226
I'm not experiencing an error so much as a lack of understanding about how to diagnose Flash CC JS export issues. Here's the backstory:
In 2012, my company started working with an contract sprite artist. I was using the CS5.5 Creative Suite, and we were exporting normal png sequences from Flash for use in the game. After about 8 months, my cofounders and I realized that we could both reduce the load time for the game and also allow our artwork to be dynamically scalable by switching to JS exports of our art rather than the raster sprite sheets. Here's the blog post we wrote about it: http://blog.codecombat.com/hacking-our-way-to-vector-artwork-in-html5
At the time, I didn't have Flash CC, and was reliant upon the CreateJS plugin to export the required JS files: CreateJS Developer Center | Adobe Developer Connection After another month or so, our contractor upgraded their version of Flash and we started having compatibility issues reading FLA files, so I upgraded as well. After doing some reading, I concluded that the CreateJS plugin was now incorporated into Flash CC as the HTML5 doc type, which was confirmed when I checked out the publish settings and resulting files.
This is all a rather long winded way of saying that we have legacy artwork created with an older version of Flash but are now importing all of our artwork from JS files.
Fast forward to today and we have two big issues:
    1) We can't figure out how to reduce the filesize of JS exports. As discussed in our blog post, vector artwork has upsides and downsides. One of the downsides we've found is that complex art that uses a lot of shapes ends up being substantially larger (in terms of filesize) than the appearance might otherwise suggest. Raster exports skirt this because a pixel is a pixel, but vector exports scale with the complexity of the source FLA. I'm not a Flash expert, and when we get files that are particularly complex, Flash either runs out of memory exporting them to JS files or we get files that are far too large to reasonably use. To be clear, the "out of memory" error isn't a problem because even if Flash finished the export, the resulting files would be too large for us to use (plus, I've done some digging and found a tutorial for correcting the out of memory error). Our artist is not familiar with the intricacies of the JS Flash exporter, so when we get a file that's too big or breaks the export, neither of us can really figure out a way to correct the problem. We have three questions in particular:
         a) Where can you view shape data that Flash is going to write to the JS files?
         b) Is there any way to edit said shape data inside the Flash CC interface?
         c) Is there any way to optimize shape data in Flash? For instance, in Photoshop, you can flatten images and export a psd with 500 layers as a single JPEG, is there any way to do something similar to shape data in Flash?
    2) Exports frequently break in weird ways. Many of the sprites that we created a year ago haven't needed to be re-imported into our game engine for some time. But every once in a while, I need to go back and fix, improve, or tweak an existing sprite, and then I run smack into the issue of reconciling files that were created without thought to JS exports with our current system. Just last week I was running into this issue in a big way and I made a screencast for our artist (since we work remotely) that I hoped might give him a better idea of the problem: Flash Errors - Treasure Chest, Flippable Tile - YouTube
The two files mentioned in that screencast are both old (treasure chest) and new (flippable land tile). We have a few questions:
         a) Why are the treasure chest frames "flickering" in the html5 preview? The problem doesn't appear inside Flash and is inconsistent between files. There are two FLA files: one in which the treasure chest is empty, and one in which it's full. The empty animation doesn't throw any errors, either when converting to the HTML5 doc type or on export, but the resulting animation flickers. The full treasure, on the other hand gives me 21 lines of these errors when I do the conversion (not when I export): "Blend Modes(Layer) is not supported in HTML5 Canvas document, and has been converted to Normal in an instance of Movieclip <Path>." The result in both cases is the same: the animations flicker, and neither our artist nor us can figure out why, or for that matter, even begin to troubleshoot it. This SO issue seems to describe the problem, but was never resolved, and I can't find anything else that seems to address it: CreateJS Publish of Flash Project Flickers - Stack Overflow
I've uploaded the files involved to a public dropbox folder which I think you'll be able to access (Dropbox seems to be having some problems at the moment): Dropbox - flash_debugging
Since my questions are fairly involved, and my goal is to gain a better understanding of the UI, not simply resolve an error, I'd be happy to pay for someone's expertise/time in getting me up to speed. You can get in touch with me at george [at] codecombat.com

    Hi George,
I have taken a look at the files full_treasure_chest.fla and flippable_land.fla that you have shared via drop box and found that they both uses blank keyframe(s) followed by Keyframe(s). This was an issue and has been addressed in the latest release Flash CC 2014 (released on 18 June, 2014). Can you please install the latest build 14.0.0.110 and try this out?
    Thanks!

  • Need Help creating an animated GIF in Photoshop CS6 Trail version

    Everyone,
I am new to PS6 and reating animated GIF's and would like to get some guidance.  I am trying
to put the following animation together and very confused when I try to get the section and also
how to add new things to it.  I am running the trial version of PS CS6 on a WIndoes 7 environment.
Trying to ensure that I can do the things I want prior to puchasing the product.
The following is what I want to do:
    1.     With the logo, have it be as if there is a spotlight moving back and forth at medium speed,
shining on the logo.  Wherever the light hits, have that section sparkle. That will be exquisite.
    2.     Have the "CLICK HERE," words alternate starkly (not blending) between white and pumpkin orange.
Again, medium speed. That will be garish, but is okay because it's not part of the designed section.
The file is attached.  I am having trouble trying to select just the "CLICK HERE" portion of the
logo to have the words alternating color.  I cannot figure out how to get a spotlight function to this logo.
Then how to have it sparkle when the spotlight hits the other section of the logo and not have the
spotlight going over to the "Click Here" part of the logo.
I could really use some direction on this and would appreciate it greatly.  Thanx in advance.
    Jerry

The banner does not have to be this large.  Here is a link to using the spotlight with sparkles:
    http://forums.adobe.com/servlet/JiveServlet/downloadImage/2-5012713-285076/371-194/bannerA nimTest2.gif
Also, the spotlight should be just over the "CLICK HERE" section.  If the spotlight could apply in the diameter to the whole text of "Click Here". and use the sparkles,
that would be great and then I can break it out and see how it is done.  Again, it does not have to be this large, maybe a little larger the the size of the first one I posted
would be good.  Then how would I get it to a jpg and gif file?  Thanx in advance.

  • How to optimize macbook pro for video editing and 3d animation

Hello Everybody - I've had a macbook pro for about 5 years now. It works great, havn't had any issues with it yet, but I've started doing more video editing and 3D animation work on it with FCP7 and Blender (usually using photoshop at the same time). Even when I quit all other programs, it's not really able to handle many things I try to do in Blender (for example cloth simulation) and I end up waiting a while with the wheel of death and then having to force quit. I'm not in the position to buy an entirely new macbook pro right now - so I'm wondering if there are any ways I can modify my current macbook to render it more able to handle the heavy processing load?
    Here are its specs:
Processor - 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Memory - 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
    Graphics - NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB
Startup Disk Macintosh HD 320 GB
    Software - Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63b)
    Greatful for any advise, thanks!

so I'm wondering if there are any ways I can modify my current macbook to render it more able to handle the heavy processing load?
Honestly, IMO, no. Even if you were to upgrade your HDD to a SSD, and increase your RAM, your CPU and GPU just aren't equipped for the tasks you ask of it (and there is no way to upgrade either your CPU or GPU). It would improve performance to upgrade these parts on your machine, no question, but ultimately, the processors would act as a bottleneck for performance/
The latest high end 15'' Macbook Pro vs your model:
The CPU is 7X faster in Geekbench 3 64bit multicore benchmarks
8X the dedicated VRAM as your GPU
Almost 2X the RAM speed for compatible DIMMS.
PCIe storage = 7X the RW speed of your HDD

  • Videos encoded with Apple Animation Codec won't play properly in QT7.5

Quick Time version I have installed is 7.5 (149.5). I also have Perian 1.1 and Mpeg2 codec for QT.
All of a sudden, all videos I render using Apple Animation Codec with alpha channel won't properly play in QuickTime, nor in Preview (when you click on .MOV file and press Space). They actually play, but colors are all screwed up and it looks like it's playing only alpha layer. I tried same movies on my work buddy's Mac and everything looks perfet. I also tried importing those videos into Flash, and everything works fine, but when I have to preview them in QT or using Finder's Preview, they look crazy. I can't send any screenshots since this thing happens on my work iMac (new aluminum one, Leopard 10.5.4, all updates installed) and I am at home now.
I tried reinstalling QT but to no avail, nothing changed. I've looked through Library/QuickTime subfolder, and only items I could find were QuickTimeMPEG2.component, Perian.component, ffmpeg.component, and AppleIntermediateCodec.component.
I'm slowly going crazy over here, because nothing I tried worked.
Is there any way of completely removing everything QT related and reinstalling it from the scratch ? Please help!
    Thanks in advance!

Hah, found out what's the problem. It is not my computer, it is not my QuickTime got corrupt. It is QuickTime's bug decoding movie file encoded using following combination of settings:
    Quick Time encoder
    Compression Type: Animation
Depth: Millions of colors+ (alpha channel included)
    Quality: Best
    ParticleIllusion
    Output options
    Save Alpha - enabled
Remove Black bg from RBG channels - if this item is enabled, this is exactly what gives QT problems trying to encode it. I repeat, this option must be enabled in some cases (it removes that nasty black-dirt-looking extra halo glow around the object that already has some kind of glow applied to it). It makes your animation rendered with alpha channel a lot better looking and animation seamlessly blends with any kind of colored background. Well, QT has problems "reading" this format.
In the same time, if you import such animation rendered with this option enabled into Flash, everything looks perfectly fine. It's just QuickTime won't play it properly.
Every single Mac I checked has this same problem, and it's not Mac's problem, it is QuickTime problem.
I have two examples, you can see it yourself:
First one is when black bg is still present in RGB channels (animation looks exactly as it should):
    http://www.sasha-z-creations.com/quicktime/Example_BlackPresent.mov
And second one is when black bg is removed from RGB channels (colors looks weird):
    http://www.sasha-z-creations.com/quicktime/Example_BlackRemoved.mov
I repeat, both examples look exactly the same (great looking) when imported into Flash dev utility.
    Cheers!

  • How to blend a symbol correctly?

    Hi!
I have a little problem with blending symbols.
I tried to make an animation of complex (comlicated) artwork - I thought it would be Ok by converting each part to symbol, group them - make keyframes and bring Illustrator to make me inbetweens by blending objects. Overall it works, but it has some problems - sometimes it reflect the blended symbol (vertically and horizontally), but sometimes not (so I do not know, what is the problem). Sometimes it change color of feathered black object (every, not only in blended instance) but again - sometimes not. I use CS5 - is it better in CS6? or do you have any idea, how to work problems I mentioned out? I tried some default symbols (to find out, if it is problem of my symbols) but it is not reliable too.
Thank you a lot for your interest and help.
    Oliver

Here are 3 images of soldier walking behind the wall (so there is no need of the rest of body) - all of them exported after blending.
    1. keyframes - there are some transformationes (also of all of the artwork - scale, rotation and so on)
    2. my inbetween (if i reflect every symbol vertical and horizontal, everything is great, but it must be reflection of every single symbol)
    3. my mistake - I thought that it changed color (the shadow under soldiers nose and mouth was black - it was the same procedure as shadow under the cape) but it made a hole through his head - uuuugh...... (I do not know what to do, because the symbol is still the same - but makes this)
I tried to reflect every single symbol to make it normal, and then made another blend between the second keyframe and inbetween and it was correct inbetween2 (without reflecting), but if i made another blend between second keyframe and inbetween2 it made it incorrect (not because of reflecting, but it damaged the shape of them)
maybe too much blends - I should try to make most of inbetweens in the first step and then delete som of them to retain only them I want. But the problems abowe are real and it make my work very slow.
    Thank you for your help!

  • Need help animating line art/paths

    Help please...
I am trying to animate a line, to have it tween/morph between a line and a question mark and then back to a line. I've drawn my two shapes in Illustrator as line art (as paths, not as closed shapes), but I'm not seeing the paths as a mask when I paste them into my Solid Layer. The parts of my drawing that have closed shapes come in and form a mask, but not the individual lines/paths, not matter how thick I make them. I can see there is a path in AE if I click on the shape, but it does not come up as a masked area.
Is there a better way to do this, than to animate a mask? Animating masks seems to be the consensus how to do a lot of animation, but I'm stuck trying to get my line appear as part of my mask.
Happy to try another way; I have yet to see a tutorial that does what I'm trying to do, can't be a reveal, since the final shape needs to morph a few times. I am sure this is do-able (and probably not that hard!), but I can't figure it out; in Flash I would just tween between the two shapes, but not seeing how to do that effect in AE.
    Thank you!

hi, i took some screengrabs also, so that you can perhaps see what i might be doing wrong...i inlcuded the original shape, from Illustrator, as well as what happens when I paste in AE. for my shape, blends won't work from Illustrator, I need the line to move in a certain way that Illustrator won't do using that feature. thanks very much .

  • How to Apply adjustment layers to multiple layers that have different blending modes ...

How to Apply adjustment layers to multiple layers that have different blending modes  and keep the colours the same as the adjusment done?
I work in Animation painting Backgrounds.  My files are sometimes upwards to 200+ layers.
I will use adjustment layers to quickly balance colours and constrast on top of those many many layers.
The only way that I know of how to apply adjustment layers it to every single layer  ( by applying I mean I need to get rid of the adjustment layers because we cant use them in production but i need the new colours be applied to all layers underneath ) in a psd is to manually do it By duplicating the adjusment layer 200+ times and  then merging each layer to one of those adjustment layers so that that layer can take the adjustment layers effect permanently.
The issue is that Within Those 200 layers I have some layers set to Multiply or OVERLAY.    IT obviously wont apply the adjustment layer properly to those layers because those layer blend mode affect the layers under them. The colour wont be the same anymore in the spots that had the multiply blended mode.
HEres an example of a simple File.  to show what i mean.

    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3408266/ball.psd
I have 2 adjustment layers up top.  I need to get rid of them by applying them to each layer! I cannot merge any of the layers. We need all those layers for production.
I can apply the adjustment layers manually and this works GREAT for all Layers set to normal.  THey take on the colour change just FINE.
However, The issue is that layer 6 and layer 4 are both set to mutiply and this screws up the colour once i apply the adjustment layers to each layer manually...
How can i apply my adjustment layers to a file like this with some layers being set to multiply while keeping the layers exactly the same configuration  and The new colour taking efffect exactly how i looks before i apply the adjustment layers?
Now the simple solution is to merge the multiply layers to the layer that it affects HOWEVER I NEED those multiply layers to be seperate!
I'm assuming what I want to do is impossible? Hope this isnt confusing.  As far as i know its impossible to do what I want it to do.  but just wanted to ask and see.
I would REALLY REALLY love to talk to a adobe programmer/ technician/pro working at adobe about this.  Theres just no way to get in touch with anyone... =(
    any thoughts ?

Sure... if you want to put it that way. Either way its not the desirable outcome.
its just frustrating that theres no way to apply adjustment layers to hundreds of layers while keeping them in the same configuration ( blendmodes,  layer order ,  without merging)  while keeping the same end result.
works great if all your layers are set to normal though..    But I really need to keep shadow layers seperately and be able to adjust on the fly aswell as apply those adjusment to all my layers.
I suppose that just isnt possible.   I understand the math required for this would be tremendous/ complicated if something like this would ever be implemented.  Would be nice if adobe could come up with some solution to this.  Its really a huge issue in my work flow and theres no alternatives.    How else can I adjust colours to 100+ layers  with a few clicks that lets me play around the the adjustment until im happy with the outcome.    Really wish i could adjust and the quickly apply that adjustment to all my layers regardless of blend mode.   LIke If the Layers with blendmode could somehow take the properties of the adjustment layer and keep adjusting those layers undereathe on top of that blended mode that its doing...

  • Recreate animated text effect?

I am working on a video with mostly text, like the one below. I want to know how to recreate some of the effect used here, like when the "4" slides upwards and vertical and horizontal lines extend from it, or the point at 0:41 when the words are all connected by the line.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgLxv-f9mYs

That example was done in FCP7. These days, those types of text effects, most of which can be done in FCPX, are probably better (at least easier) done in Motion. You *can* create a Basic Text "4" and animate the bars with Shape generators, etc. but it's a common enough use of the #4 that I put it together in Motion for you.
    You can download it here:
    http://sight-creations.com/fxexchange/sc_divideby4.zip
    You can:
Animate all 3 strokes ("Crossbar", horizontal and vertical) from 0% to 100% (for horiz and vert - they will go far enough off the screen for you to create a border at the upper left corner of 16:9 aspect video.
Use the onscreen control to position the intersection of the vertical and horizontal strokes (animated via keyframes).
    Colorize
    Scale (relative to the OSC)
    Rotate (relative to the OSC)
Shear (tilt) (relative to the OSC)
    Fade with Opacity
Blend into the storyline media (background) using Blend Mode
    Apply Drop Shadow
