BLOB display in flash

First, please do not post about using a file system for
images rather than storing them in mysql as I know how to do this
and I want to store the images in a database. If you can explain
more of the security of a file system then I will listen as that is
the only issue I'm having with the file system. However, all I want
to know is how to take an image in a blob field in a mysql database
and display it in a flash movieclip. I can use php to echo the
image straight to a browser no problem. I've read I may have to
create a temporary image on the server and display that, but there
is little documentation, actually none, aside from using a file
system on how to handle images in mysql and display them in flash.
Please advise as I can't believe it's this difficult to display an
image in flash from a mysql database.

Thanks for the reply. It answered my question, but left me
wondering how to load multiple images. Do i have to call the same
php file and string a different variable for multiple instances of
the component? Such as:
loader1.contentPath = "pics.php?&picid="+picnumber+"";
loader2.contentPath = "pics.php?&picid="+picnumber2+"";
It seems like hell for the php file on the server with all
the request. Is there a way to get all the pictures I need with one
call to one php file? Please advise.

  • BPM Workspace can't display the flash movie with IE

    Hi
    We have the following problem, we have a BPM project with a flash screen, when we execute the project in the workspace of BPM studio we can see the Flash, but when we published the project in BPM Enterprise , the workspace can't display the flash movie, it just display the panel without buttons and fields. This happen just in Internet Explorer, in other browsers we can see the flash.
    Any idea or solution ??
    Thanks in advance

    Actually, I got it working now...
    It seems that I have to have all the files in the same folder
    as the page it displays on!
    Historically I would dump a standard flash clip (not a
    converted movie with buttons) into the /images folder.
    I tested this intitally in a /video folder (just to keep all
    the files in one place) which would display the clip but not the
    buttons but as soon as I moved the files in the same directory as
    the page itself (which is the main index.html) it worked fine!
    So if anyone does read this is there a reason for that as I
    would like to keep everything in separate folders!
    Cheers, J

  • IE does not display my flash movie

    Hello fellows, I am having a huge problem with MIE. It does
    not displays the flash object embed! Firefox works fine, but IE
    doesn't!
    Here are the codes:
    quote:
    Code made by me:
    <object width="757" height="153">
    <param name="movie" value="/script/top.swf"> <param
    name="quality" value=high>
    <param name="play" value=true> <param name="bgcolor"
    value=#0000000>
    <param name="wmode" value="transparent">
    <embed src="/script/top.swf" width="757" height="153"
    wmode="transparent">
    </embed>
    </object>
    The funny thing is that I use almost the same code to display
    another flash movie and it WORKS for the second!!! Why is that? The
    Firefox displays both of them fine.
    I tried a second code:
    quote:
    Code generated by Flash itself:
    <object
    classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" odebase="
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,0,0"
    width="757" height="153" id="top" align="middle">
    <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
    <param name="movie" value="script/top.swf" />
    <param name="quality" value="high" />
    <param name="bgcolor" value="#000000" />
    <embed src="script/top.swf" quality="high"
    bgcolor="#000000" width="757" height="153" name="top"
    align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain"
    type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="
    http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer">
    </embed>
    </object>
    When I use the code above it returns to me an error on line
    215, but my file has only 196 lines! And if I count the included
    javascript, the possible lines are commentaries. The Firefox works
    fine.
    What is wrong with IE?
    See ya!

    "odebase"? should be "codebase"
    Use the tags generated by Flash when you publish to HTML and
    things should
    be fine. Don't try to do it yourself unless you are an expert
    (and even
    experts don't just typ in tags themselves .. they copy and
    paste from
    previous html they have that works)

  • Oracle Blob Display Error

    Environment : Using Oracle Forms 6i (Currently on Patch 6.0.8.16) and Oracle
    10g.
    Problem : Error “Ora-00932 Inconsistent Data Types” when displaying a
    blob from a database table using Oracle 10g.
    Problem Description :
    Currently in the existing application we have Oracle Forms 6i with Oracle
    database version 8i.
    There are no errors while displaying a blob (image) from the database table on my Oracle form. Upgraded to Oracle 10g but with the existing version of Oracle Forms we cannot display the blob in the Forms.If I remove the blob display from the form everything else on the form works fine.
    Tried to update the Oracle Forms to version 6.0.8.16 using Patch 7 but it did not resolve the problem.
    Tried to go through the bug fixes in the recent Forms version upgrade released by Oracle but did not see anything related to problem with blob display using Oracle 10g.
    Did anyone else in the group faced the same problem?
    What patch level resolved the problem?
    Any ideas?
    thanks and regards.

  • Spry menu bar content displays under flash content

    I have a spry menu bar with sub bars and below that menu bar
    I have flash video. Well, the submenu content of menu bar is not
    fully displayed, as flash content blocks it. Is it possible to
    order the flash content (or menu bar) somehow i.e send to back,
    bring to front?

    All Active content on a page will always rise to the top, so
    to speak,
    including Flash, certain form elements, Java applets, and
    Active X controls.
    This means that each of these will poke through layers. There
    is not a good
    cross-browser/platform reliable way to solve this issue, but
    if you can be
    confident in your visitors using IE 5+ or NN6+, then you can
    use the Flash
    wmode parameter (however, Safari does not support this
    properly!).

  • Problem with display of Flash 3D sequence

    I've created an swf from an animation taking advantage of the new 3d tool in Flash Cs4 (different objects with different z-values).
    As I import it into Adobe Premiere Cs4, the 3d part of the file basically does not appear, all the animations I've created using the 3d tool are now being ignored and playback only displays the conventional part of the animation.
    Is Premiere not ready yet to properly display 3d animated content, created in Flash Cs4?

    Flash isn't your typical source for Premiere.  Normally it's the other way around.
    For original animations, most often the entire project is simply done in Flash, no need to go into Premiere.

  • How do I solve this problem:Photo's no longer displayed (Adobe Flash player 13,0,0,214) in online photo album maker (Webprint.nl) after update to Firefox 29.0.1

    After I (automatically) updated to Mozilla Firefox version 29.0.1, the online photo album crreator of Webprint.nl no longer displayes the photo's that I uploaded.
    The photo's are displayed again when I use an older Firefox browser (version 28.*) from an another computer. This is my old (WIndows Vista) computer that I use when my new Windows 7 computer has problems.
    It looks like the new Firefox has a problem with Adobe Flash player 13,0,0,214; which is the newest version according to Adobe.

  • Macbook Pro Retina Display and Flash Player major issues

    Hello,
    Apple has recently released Macbook Pro's with Retina displays.
    I have tested my Flash application on the new laptop, and this is what I observe:
    1. My Flex SDK Flash application looks blurry and strange when I try to check it out from any Macbook Pro with Retina display, while looking sharp and OK from all other machines.
    On this screenshot you can sort of see the issue:
    http://i.imgur.com/UXHd4.png
    (Expand the image to the actual size, and compare the Flex SDK components with browser labels. Browser labels look crisp, Flex SDK components look a little bit blurry.)
    2. It is no longer possible to click on anything in Flash Player Dialogs, such as:
    * Flash Player Settings
    * Webcam or microphone allow/deny dialog
    * All other dialogs (peer-to-peer access, etc)
    This issue makes it impossible to use video chat applications on Macbook Pro Retina's because users can't click allow/deny when requested for audio/video access.
    I have submitted reports about this to Adobe BugBase here:
    https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=3224151
    https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=3224147
    Please fix these issues.
    Andrey

    @nvhdab - If you haven't already, can you please add a bug on your issue over at bugbase.adobe.com  If it's the same as 3224151 then it sounds like it's going to be fixed soon.  I'm trying to find out exactly when, but it might be in the 11.7 release now (4/2/2013 - Flash Player 11.7.700.170 Beta)
    @scottclayton - I'm going to ask the team to revisit the click issue.  I don't have a retina display so I can't confirm the issue.  Thank you though for putting up the workaround.

  • Laptop will not boot, no display and flashing caps key

    Hi,
    I am attemping to repair a laptop for a family member, their baby threw up on the keyboard, although after they cleared it up they said it was still working (booting into windows, mouse working etc). They took the old keyboard out themselves but it looks like they were a bit heavy handed with it; there are quite a few scratches on the metal plate underneath the keyboard and the plastic surround. I have not yet been able to confirm if the laptop was still booting after the keboard was removed.
    Anyway - I went to their house to do what I thought was going to be a relatively easy job, simply connecting the new keyboard. Now the laptop will not boot, there is no display on the screen and we get a flashing CAPS/F12 key. I have looked at the table for LED codes, but I am not sure if it is one flash lots of times, or six flashes. The warranty has also run out so sending to HP not really an option.
    There are six short flashes, with quite a long pause between each one. After this the laptop powers off and after another pause turns itself back on and starts over. If it is one flash (CPU) then I guess they must have shafted something on the board by shoving the screwdriver in underneath the keyboard to prise it away from the laptop. There is however not an awful lot of stuff exposed - there is a fairly substancial metal plate under where the keyboard would sit to protect the laptop.
    I am hoping at the moment that it is showing six flashes - which is BIOS authentication error. I am not that familiar with HP products, but could this be caused by installing a non-genuine keyboard? The keyboard looks the same from the top, but was bought for less than a tenner on ebay.
    If anybody has any ideas that would be great.
    Aaron

  • Oracle BLOB  Display an image in Web Form

    I have an Oracle database that stores image data. The data type of this image column is BLOB. I created a Window application using Visual C#, Oracle Provider for OLE DB to display the images on the Window forms. The mechanism to retrieve the data from Oracle database from client is to call an Oracle stored procedure that returns BLOB type. Now I want to convert it into Web application. I have difficulty to find
    (1) Appropriate web control
    (2) A way to bind OracleLOB object to this web control so the image can be displayed.
    I am aware of the fact that in ASP .NET you can use ImageUrl property of an Image object to link a file stored in a particular URL.
    Your help is very much appreciated.

    Hi ,
    Please can you give me some examples or where can i find the solution.
    Can you guys send some FMB examples on [email protected]
    Please reply as sson as possible because we got stuck up here.

    also- do any of you know of any beta testing services that

    SWFs don't typically have player controls (I think that's what you're asking for).  Use FLV and choose a player skin with controls.
    As Ken said, Flash is a dead web technology.  The list of devices that support Flash is shrinking daily because it sucks the life out of mobile batteries.
    You would do yourself and your site visitors a huge favor by moving to a more modern media approach.  Either HTML5 video or a combination of CSS3, HTML5 and JavaScript for animations.  See Edge Animate.

  • RSS Feeds display in Flash but not browser

    I have a Flash application that pulls an RSS feed and

    When I test in Firefox the movie clips containing the feeds
    simply don't appear (everything else does though). I'm using an
    external class file to parse the xml from the feeds and populate
    the movie clips with the content. Is there another way I should be
    doing it, or is there a publish setting I'm unaware of that will
