  • Bluetooth plugin crashes UserEventAgent

    The UserEventAgent in the Activity Monitor was continually Not Responding recently. I traced it down to the Bluetooth useragent plugin in system > library > Usereventplugins. I have the file quarantined (moved to another folder nowhere near the System folder). My Bluetooth device still works (1st generation Apple Bluetooth keyboard), but I did hear that removing the file screws up data syncs and more intricate routines involving Bluetooth. Has anyone found out what's causing the Bluetooth plugin to crash the useragent? It's apparently not the plugin, I've swapped the plugin with another from an OS-matching computer, and the UserEventAgent still crashes. The data table has also been rebuilt by Diskwarrior.
    This is on a 2.66 Quad-core Mac Pro, running 10.5.7.

    System upgraded to SL. Problem avoided.

  • Calling custom COM-based library from Acrobat/Reader javaScript

    Hi All,
    is ist possible to extend the javascript object model? For example, is it possible to call a custom COM-based library from Acrobat/Reader using javaScript. Or is their a diffrent way to call third part libs?
    Thanks
    CommanderPeek

    I need a Reader Integration to a document management system (DMS). The user should interact from Reader GUI with the DMS.
    Nobody is able to give me binding statement, if my customer (this company need plugin for internal use only) will get the Adobe Reader Integration Key License/digital certificate for such a Reader plugin and how high the costs will be. I wait and wait for Adobes’ Feedback :-(
    For this reason I check a different solution with Javascript but I have no idea how to make calls to the DMS from Javascript. On other side are COM- or .Net-based libraries available.

  • Can I create template-based library objects in Dreamweaver CS5?

    At work we need two 'streams' of template. The first are general layout templates, like the ones already available in the MX through CS5 packages (except we'd have our own customised ones). The second are more granular objects, some of which are functional.
    In both cases, I don't want Jimmy to be able to wreak havoc inside anything other than the 'editable regions' which make up the templates.
    Now this is fine if I stick with the first scenario (layout templates) where there's simply a big chunk of editable region for good ole Jim to sprawl into, think of this as the 'body content' area. But I really do need these granular library (or snippet) objects to work in the same way. Unfortunately with my attempts so far they don't work as I'd have thought - perhaps for good reason?
    When I create a blank template and throw in my chunk of HTML (unobstrusive JS and external CSS use selectors in this HTML to provide style and function) and save it as a new library item or snippet, all looks well. Then I create a new document based on a layout template and save it as a plain html file (still all good so far). Next I drop in my custom library item... still all good... but then I go to save the document and it only allows me to save it as a new template! I expected it would just allow me to save it as HTML and have it simply respect the defined editable regions, as happens in the containing page 'body content' editable region.
    Apologies if that got specific and technical quite quickly, but it is quite particular. If you want some example files lemme know and I'll zip some up.
    Many thanks
    p.s It is not a requirement that my library objects must somehow inject their dependency files into the newly created page - I already know what they'll be. Also, I know I must 'detatch from original' once I drop a library item into a document which then allows customisation of the library object.

    Unfortunately that leads me to the same place, I suppose another way of saying my question which may clear the matter up, is: "Can I embed mutually exclusive templates inside templates?"
    For those of you who like things explained conceptually in XML structures, or you're an Adobe developer and you think this isn't currently possible but is awesome, the basic premise is this:
    <page template>
         <noneditable region />
         <editable region>
              Jimmy's text blah blah lorem ipsum.
              <widget template>
                   <editable region>
                        Jimmy's widget customised title
                   </editable region>
                   <noneditable region />
                   <editable region>
                        Jimmy's widget customised feedback
                   </editable region>
              </widget template>
         </editable region>
         <noneditable region />
    </page template>
    Where '<page template />' is stored as a Template (a layout template), and '<widget template>' is stored in either the Library, or as a Snippet.
    cheers,

  • Accidentally Deleted Bluetooth Plugin, How do I Get it Back?

    I recently used MacCleanse to erase some unwanted plugins from my MacBook Pro and I must have accidentally deleted one from my bluetooth which allows me to play music through a bluetooth speaker. It says it's connecting but the sound still comes through the internal speakers? Is there a fix? Please and thankyou!

    First, as you have already found out, using those third-party utilities is a bad idea and totally unnecessary. End of lecture.
    You did not indicate what level of OS X you are running. If you are on OS X 10.9, I would restore the system (which reloads OS X without disturbing your data. I would also UNINSTALL MacCleanse at once.

  • How to move an aliased based library using AppleScript

    I wanted to move all my pictures from one disk (NAS) to a external disk (Device) directly connected to my Mac. This to improve access speed of all my media.
    Since I have set up my library as a reference library iPhoto has created Alias to all my pictures on my NAS disk. As I want to move I need to change these alias to point to the new Device disk.
    I could have imported all my pictures again, but then I would have lost all my albums. I did not look forward in re-organizing 15K in pictures. Looking into various discussions on different forums I created this Apple Script. I struggled a lot to egt the correct syntax and commands, used some stuff form other posts, thanks for this!
    For every alias in a certain directory it creates a new alias with the same name however pointing to the pictures on my Device Disk. It deletes the old alias and renames the new alias to the original name. I am not sure if this is a smart thing to do, but it seems to work fine.
    set f to choose folder
    ProcessAlias(f as string)
    -- replacess all alias files in the passed folder path (string)
    on ProcessAlias(this_folder)
    -- get list of folders in this_folder
    set utid to AppleScript's text item delimiters -- store old delimiters
    set AppleScript's text item delimiters to {return}
    tell application "Finder"
    set folder_listing to every folder of folder this_folder as string
    end tell
    set AppleScript's text item delimiters to utid -- restore old delimiters
    if folder_listing is "" then
    set folder_list to {}
    else
    set folder_list to paragraphs of folder_listing
    end if
    -- process folder_list
    repeat with sub_folder in folder_list
    ProcessAlias(sub_folder) -- send each folder back to this subroutine
    end repeat
    -- get list of alias files and process them
    tell application "Finder"
    set alias_files to every file of folder this_folder whose kind is "Alias"
    repeat with this_alias in alias_files
    set origitempath to original item of this_alias as text
    --display dialog origitempath
    set orig_name to name of this_alias
    set AppleScript's text item delimiters to "NAS"
    set textitemlist to every text item of the origitempath
    set AppleScript's text item delimiters to "Device"
    set newitempath to the textitemlist as string
    set AppleScript's text item delimiters to " "
    set newalias_file to make new alias file at this_folder to new_itempath
    delete this_alias
    set the name of newalias_file to orig_name
    end repeat
    end tell
    return -- you can return a listing of moved originals if you want
    end ProcessAlias
    When running this scrip make sure you make a backup of your iPhotoLibrary.

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
    I could have imported all my pictures again, but then I would have lost all my albums.
    You can convert your referenced library to a managed one. Use AliasHerder to replace the alias file in the library with their source files thus converting the library to a managed library.
    Also send a feature request to Apple for better ways to use a referenced library and use NAS drives. The more requests the better.
    Keep us posted as to the reliability of your method. The upside to all this is that if you run into problems later on you won't lose your source files, only the organizational effort you've put into the library.

  • OIM 11g plugin libraries - Axis2 based integration

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to use Axis with one of my plugins. if I bundle the Axis jars in the plugin it sort of works (there are other issues to solve but the libs are picked up) however if I deploy Axis seperately as an application the plugin doesn't seem to be able to find the classes NoClassDefFoundError's all over the place.
    Surely this should work right?
    Appreciate any and all help.

    Right... turns out you need to use the domain lib folder for anything like this. Just pop your libs in their and everything should have access to them.

  • Can I connect a NAS-based library and music files to an outboard DAC via ethernet

    I am running iTunes via a Drobo Transporter NAS through an Airport Express using the analog output but would like to send the digital signal via ethernet to an outboard DAC. Is this possible? I haven't been able to get it to work. I am running a 2009 Macbook Pro 17", OS X 10.9.5, iTunes 11.4, Airport Extreme as router, ethernet connected to Airport Express. My network: internet from microwave tower to Airport Extreme via ethernet connection. Airport Extreme connected to 5-port switch which connects via ethernet to Transporter, outboard DAC, and Airport Express. My music files and iTunes library are on the Transporter.

    Thanks, Niel! As it turned out, I had a LaCie rugged drive at my place which had both Firewire 400 and Firewire 800 connections and cables. So I hooked it up to the old iBook, pulled my sister's stuff onto it as instructed in the ppc to intel thread, and then hooked it up to the Macbook Pro. Problem solved! - almost. We did have two issues:
    1. My sister has a lot of music - more than 12 gigs were on the iBook's hard drive, but only about 6 made it onto the Macbook Pro. Why is that? I also got a message, when I was trying to move the music folder from the old library onto the new one, that OS X needed this folder and it couldn't be modified. Again, why is that? How, then, do you move files from a PPC to a machine running Lion? Again, a lot of her music files did make it over, but not all of them.
    2. All her photos did seem to come over - in duplicate, maybe even in triplicate. That is so annoying! The same thing happened to me when I was migrating between my old eMac G4 and my iMac G5. Why on earth does iPhoto do this, and how can we make it stop?!
    But we did manage to get a lot of her stuff onto the new machine. When we get the adapter, she'll be able to add the files that are on the Verbatim drive. You've been very helpful!

  • OIM 11gR2 Request Validator Plugin and Axis based Web Service Client

    Hi,
    I am trying call a web service client generated using axis2 from a request validator plugin in OIM 11gR2 and I have all the axis related jar files under the plugin lib folder but it fails due to the axis reference issues.
    I tried putting the jar files under different locations like thirdparty folder, server lib etc. But it is giving issues every where. Please let me know if you have some solution.
    Thanks in advance,

    Haven't worked on this, but have you tried by putting the axis libraries inside the plugin lib folder when you are building up the plugin? Also you need to check asix2 compatibility with weblogic version with R2.

  • Reverting an alias based Library to an iPhoto organized one.

    Hi,
    When I installed iPhoto 6, I opted to keep my photo directory separate (Read: unchecked "Copy Files to iPhoto Library folder" option). I soon realized that I couldn't manage the files from within iPhoto anymore (e.g. can't completely remove pictures).
    Now I want to revert my library and start letting iPhoto organize the files. I wasn't able to see such an option in iPhoto (the preference I mentioned above only applies to new files, not existing ones). I have around 10,000 pictures with several layers of hierarchy, so a manual solution isn't an option. I don't want to lose other information in my library (ratings, albums and other metadata) so I can't start a new library either.
    I know that modifying files from Finder is a "no-no", but I cannot see any other options. So, I wanted to write a script that will go through the iPhoto Library/Originals folder and replace each alias with the original file (after a full back-up of course).
    I tried this with a single file, but wasn't able to move the file (see below script). If this works, I can do the same for all files under the Originals folder.
    try
    set this_file to choose file
    set this_folder to the folder of this_item
    tell application "Finder"
    set orig_item to the original item of this_item
    move orig_item to this_folder with replacing
    end tell
    end try
    Unfortunately, this did not replace the file as I intended.
    Any ideas/suggestions?

    Hi eatalay,
    Here's an example of a recursive subroutine that replaces all alias files, in a passed folder path, with their originals.
    set f to choose folder
    ProcessAlias(f as string)
    -- replacess all alias files in the passed folder path (string)
    on ProcessAlias(this_folder)
    -- get list of folders in this_folder
    set utid to AppleScript's text item delimiters -- store old delimiters
    set AppleScript's text item delimiters to {return}
    tell application "Finder"
    set folder_listing to every folder of folder this_folder as string
    end tell
    set AppleScript's text item delimiters to utid -- restore old delimiters
    if folder_listing is "" then
    set folder_list to {}
    else
    set folder_list to paragraphs of folder_listing
    end if
    -- process folder_list
    repeat with sub_folder in folder_list
    ProcessAlias(sub_folder) -- send each folder back to this subroutine
    end repeat
    -- get list of alias files and process them
    tell application "Finder"
    set alias_files to every file of folder this_folder whose kind is "Alias"
    repeat with this_alias in alias_files
    try -- error if broken alias
    set orig_item to original item of this_alias
    set item_dest to container of this_alias
    move orig_item to item_dest with replacing
    end try
    end repeat
    end tell
    return -- you can return a listing of moved originals if you want
    end ProcessAlias
    I didn't test for broken aliai yet, but it looks ok. I just thought of something. You might want to keep a list of broken alias files and return it from the subroutine. You can then delete the broken alias or fix them.

  • Considering workflow for Aperture-based library?

    Hi all, I'm an amateur photog, mostly sporting events, nature, and family stuff. I am using OSX 10.8.1, FCPX 10.0.5, and Aperture 3.3.2.
    Until recently, I have had totally separate storage between stills and video: Photos in an Aperture library, and FCPX events for video. This works, but means that for any given event, I have masters in two places.
    I recently learned that Aperture can now house ALL my source media, even my 60p video. I don't know exactly how recent this support is, but it was news to me. I like this potential to keep all originals/masters in one project location. It eases backups, helps my sense of security, and is nice for casual browsing of past events.
    So I'm experimenting with consolidation of my video masters into Aperture projects, and creating FCPX events that point to them.
    How I think the workflow looks:
    Import from camera to Aperture. I store all masters/originals as referenced files using a simple "Year/Month/Project" organization on the drive.It's worth noting that as part of this step I use ClipWrap to losslessly convert AVCHD files to MOVs, although I don't think this is relevent to the overall workflow.
    In FCPX, select Import Files...
    Use the media browser to open the aperture event and select the video clips.
    Uncheck "Copy files to FCP events folder"
    The event is created.
    Looking in finder, the event's Originals are links, as you would expect. However, interestingly, these links point not to the actual files, but to the Aperture library's "preview" files. These files are tiny MOVs that must only contain some sort of proxy or reference to the actual originals. I'm not familiar with this format or spec. I can play the files, they look like the originals, but they're tiny, under a megabyte in size.
    At this point, everything seems to work fine. Editing in FCPX works normally, exporting in Compressor works, and I can even move the referenced masters around in Aperture (to a diferent folder structure for example) and FCPX has no problems with it, because it's pointing to Aperture's proxy files rather than directly to the originals.
    So, my questions:
    1. Is this sane? In other words, am I missing a problem that I haven't discovered? Does anyone else do this?
    2. Because the "Originals" are links to these odd preview files, FCPXs date stamps are way off. I've always carefully kept my masters' datestamps accurate and used the organize by date view for events. I would give that view up if I had to, but it's nice. Any workaround?
    3. What the heck are these proxy/preview MOV files? Aside from a hex editor, how can I tell where they point?
    Thanks in advance.

    Regarding question #2 above, I've experimented a little more, and found a potential problem: Because the time stamp of the files is incorrect, FCPX is unable to reconnect an existing project (that used an event where the files were stamped correctly) to a newly created project sourced from Aperture's native preview sharing, because the timestamps don't match.
    This wouldn't be a problem if i were starting fresh, but even then I would be afraid that Aperture might touch those preview files at some point in the future thus breaking the timestamp that FCPX depends on to identify the clips.
    As a workaround, if I import the files directly from the drive, rather than through the native preview sharing functionality, it shows the clips with the proper timestamps. This is ok by me.

  • Feature Request: Cloud Based Library Sync

    I'd like to request the following feature for Lightroom 5:
    Like many photographers, I use a notebook for field trips, and a MacPro for home. Life becomes painful when I come back from a shoot, as I transfer all my images to the MacPro, but still want to keep the ability to edit them on either machine. What I'd like to suggest is a Cloud Service where all of my directories are synced to the cloud, and on each machine, I have the ability to sync any directory down to that machine, and point to a local directory to find the RAW image files. Then if I make a change on in meta data, or develop, those settings (which are small amounts of data) should sync to the other machine via the cloud.
    This would be an enormous productivity boost.
    Thank you,
    David

    It would be lovely, but even the 100 Mbit lines that are appearing in Korea and other places would be so slow.
    I'm sure there is an equation to calculate the time for 16Gb to be passed over at 10/100 Mbit line, but that was not all of my shoot yesterday.
    4 questions for you
    Q- How quickly does a your card reader write to your hard drive?
    Q - what is the read / write speed of your card?
    Q - what is your internet speed rated at?
    Q what do you get realistically downloading a large file from a website?
    Answers from my ISP and hardware
    A - 1 x 24Mb RAW every 2-4 seconds
    A - rated at 60MB/s
    A - rated at 10Mb
    A - I sometimes get 1000Kb/s
    based on my answer 4, a 24 Mb file downloading on my line would take
    24 seconds...
    I took 700 photos yesterday, ie ±16 Gb
    24 x 700 = 16,800 seconds or 280 minutes.
    1Gb is taking ±18 minutes
    On the assumption you can wait over 4,5 hours to get the images to your large computer which is probably sitting on the desk next to you, (next to your adsl router with network capability) that 16 Gb is just over 2/3 of my monthly ADSL capacity.
    Then I want to edit / remove, tweak, make a nice 16bit Tiff of one of the images - 160 Mb....
    I've made a pano from 6 images that I combine in Hugin, then take back to LR to edit, its another 16 BIT 14,000 by 3200 px TIFF... 800 Mb - a 15minute upload time.
    That and I am not alone as a photographer with having several Tb of images, and that is a fair load of image data. Costly in time to squirt that all to the cloud, and when you hit CMD + S to update all the Metadata when you Geotag 1000's of images, another few days of updating every DNG or RAW/JPEG/TIFF sidecar.
    What about your previews, would you keep them local or also on the clould?
    You are asking for speeds and power required from a service that are just not available yet and logistically for a while.
    realistic workarounds
    suggestion one
    Set up a server at home, with all your images one one large fast stack of hard drives and at least all your images are referenced from one place.
    Have you tried working with LR over WIFI..... it is so slow.
    speed it up by using network cables.
    Suggestion two
    I have all my images on several firewire 800 hard drives and at the moment swap the cables from one computer to another. Using a network cable I would not need to swap the cables over, - but I'd need network capable hard drives which I dont have.
    As per the 2 responses above you've hit a physical barrier, pictures move faster thru cables than the air, and putting loads of pictures through the air will be slow, costly and frustrating.
    to the future
    Put it in as a feature request for LR6 and hope that in 4 years time that we all have access to 100GBit/1000Gbit dual band bi-synchronous DSL free internet so that them bits can zoom in and out of the cloud at speeds than make thunderbolt look slow. Then we'd be talking, but hey my new Canon D1HhellOfAnAmazingNewNumberingSystem 2016 camera has 800 Mpixels with 20Bits of data for each pixel... each photo is 2000 Mb.....
    Maybe there is new hardware around the corner where you can make a local cloud in your home or office  - wifi and network based hard drives? Now all you need is some way of synching the LR5 database.
    I will plus one your suggestion and agree there is great merit in it.

  • How to add Phonegap plugins into Thym-based projects?

    Finally got Eclipse working with Phonegap/cordova once I found Thym. However, now I'm not sure how to plugins into the project. Adding them from the CLI as usual does not seem to work.
    Any advice on this? Thanks!

    I installed Thym in my Eclipse Luna.

Searching the forums, I found a couple of things about troubleshooting performance issues, one of which was to use '''hardware acceleration''', that is on by default. It was turned on on my PC, '''so I tried deactivating it, and it worked!'''
    So doing the exact opposite as Mozilla support said solved the problem. It is really a pain now to work with Firefox. I'm using it because I have no choice, but I'd recommend IE and Chrome over Firefox... Whatever, the market will decide once Firefox has become to crappy...
