Blurry webcam image

Hi,
I have just installed a Creative Vist Plus webcam. IT works, but the image is completely out of focus. Any suggestions on how to change this?
I am in Yemen. The shop that sold it to me doesn't know what to do about it. (Besides, I''m affraid what they might do to my lap-top).
I run Windows XP on an Acer 640 note book.
Thanks in advance for helping me out!

qpdouv,
A lot of people miss the focus ring on the front of the camera. Does that have any effect?
If not, then it could be a problem with the camera itself, maybe try it on another computer to be sure and then exchange it.

  • How to add a live webcam image in OWC?

    Hi All:
We have a customer who wants to use iLearning with collabsuite. They like the way OWC is integrated with iLearning but they have some specific requirements.
One of the main requirement for them is to put a live webcam image of instructor/s in a webconference, where participants (students ) will be able to see the instructors teaching live. This webcam image will be positioned at the left or right top as a small window embedded to the webconference screen.
Do we have the ability to add such functionality in collabsuite? If not, how can the customer meet this requirement? If anybody knows how to do this, please reply to this post.
    Thanks and best regards,

  • Ideapad u300s youcam 3 webcam image very dark and exposure button not moving

Just got the u300s after hearing so much about it. Webcam image is very dark and exposure button is not working. auto adjust doesnt help. Even iphone4 front camera has a better exposure control. Can anyone help if it is software or hardware problem. Very disappointing.

Exactly the same issue. The exposure setting won't change. It's not even that it doesn't save, as you look at the preview screen, all of the video proc amp setting change live, but when you get onto exposure, it does nothing. And then it doesn't save.
So this issue has been floating around for about 3 years and nothing has come to light to fix it.

  • Crop webcam image

    Hi,
I have a webcam with huge resolution (1900x1200) that I stream using netstream. Actually i resize my cam to 320x240. I would like to implement a zoom, which would involve cropping my webcam image and streaming only a subpart of it.
Is there a mean to crop camera image with flash.media.camera or with flash.media.video, (or any other class) ?
    Regards,

Layers. Up to 99 of them. Lower layer numbers are closer to the "top" of the total video.
PNG files allow an alpha channel (that could be transparent) but a "mask" is just a simple black and white image file that covers something and exposes other areas. A mask can also be a "shape" (irregular dimensions).
Two of my files that show some of the features:
    http://homepage.mac.com/kkirkster/03war/
There is a small bug in the "full screen" playback (double image). Hit the escape key and then Command-f to re-enter full screen to clear the double image.

A "skin track" video. They can have any shape you desire.

  • Webcam Image Processing

    Hello Friends,
I would like to know if at all the LabVIEW IMAQ toolset can be used for image processing of Images acquired by a webcam using the USB port.
Further I would like to know if any one has used the IMAQ library for image processing of webcam images.
The VI which I used for image acquisition does not use any VI from IMAQ, which further confuses me about the use and applicability of IMAQ toolset to webcam images. The current status is that I am able to acquire images and display them on the front panel but I am unable to figure out as to how I should go the image processing.
    Please help if you can.

  • DV7-3079wm webcam image quality poor

I've had this laptop almost 2 yrs, but never used the webcam until recently.  My nephew wanted me to sign up for Sykpe.  Anyway even using the HP MediaSmart software, the webacm image is washed out and blurry.  I can take the laptop outsife on battery and try to take snap shots. The image have too much contrast and out of focus.
Is this a software or hardware issue?
I had pruchased a 2 yr extended warrantee and sent it to Warranty Logistics, but they found 'nothing wrong.'  Needless to say I won't be buying extended warrantees again.

  • Poor webcam image quality (HP Touchsmart Notebook

I recieved a HP touchsmart Notebook as a Christmas gift and the image quality is  horrible! Even in a well lit environment, the image is still not clear. I have adjusted the settings to try to improve the image quality, but there is still not much of a difference in the way the images appear. I have also tried to reinstall the Cyberlink YouCam application but the image quality is still the same (poor). I like some features on my laptop, yet I'm still getting aquainted with it. However, the image quality along with a few other technical issues such as (freezes), has negatively impacted how I view this product. I hope that there is something that could be done! Please help!

  • Saving webcam images into database

    Hi,
I have managed to acquire the image from my webcam through the vision acquisition software but now i faced a problem because i want the image to be stored in the database so that it could be view from a webpage( like a video stream).
What i did in my vi was just take the image out and connected it directly to the database and data is going in the database but when i tried to display it on the webpage it does not show.
Is it possible to do that and if so is there any tutorials i can refer to?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You should not save an image to database, since it'll make database slow, and difficult to write a web page to load image.
Save an image to specific location, and save image location to database.
Then, use <img> tag to call an image in web page.

  • Blurry Print Images

I am working on a project right now and am using 2 different programs for various images (Numbers and Finale Notepad). Using the "Print" dialog, I print everything to PDF and then import the PDFs into Pages.
In pages, everything looks fine. When I print the Pages document on paper, all of my images are blurry and basically unusable. This seems to happen whether I import the entire PDF or use Grab to get a snapshot of a portion of the image.
Any ideas on how I can get an imported image that not only looks clean in Pages but prints cleanly?
    Thanks!

    In Pages, everything looks fine.
On the digital graphic display, you mean. Your digital graphic display has a resolution of around 100 dots per inch. Your digital graphic printer has a resolution of 600 dots per inch up to 1200 dots per inch. Your digital graphic press has a resolution of up to 2500 dots per inch.
This seems to happen whether I import the entire PDF or use Grab to get a snapshot of a portion of the image.
Grab and other utilities that capture the current application window or the complete Finder as a graphic render at the resolution of the digital graphic display. You can check the resolution for yourself by opening your capture in Apple Preview and selecting Tools > Get Info.
Similarly if you capture the low resolution interface graphics in an application window through the Quartz PDF environment. You don't have more resolution to put onto the printer than you had to begin with when you put it onto your display.
There is a trick with an interpolation algorithm available in Photoshop. The trick was recommended by Dov Isaacs, Adobe's quality assurance manager, for screen grabs. I don't know how the 'Use Interpolation' algorithm works, but I have often used it.

  • Blurry photoshop image in Microsoft word

Hi All, I am a bit of a newbie to photoshop and am looking for some advice. I have edited some photos in photoshop to which they look lovely and crisp and clear only to insert them into a Microsoft word document in which the look blurry/fuzzy. They also look this way on the web (The images will eventually be used on the web). I have resized them down from 10497 x 7103 to 600 x 400px and at 200ppi ( I have also tried to take the photos using smaller settings on the camera with no success) . Have I missed doing something?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I am pulling my hair out!!!
    Thanks in advance

You have to do some reading about what DPI/ PPI actually means and how the programs use it. Word doesn't really care for anything other than 72/ 96 DPI because that's how its internal handling works, but it will pass through higher DPI to printers where supported, even if the screen display may look funky. Beyond that I'm not sure what you are asking. Inevitably downsizing an image to a 20th of its original resolution will destroy detail and things like saving them to compressed formats or placing them not aligned with the screen pixel grid will cause further resampling. You would have to be much more specific about what you do and provide screenshots, system info etc.. Either way, as already said, you need to do some basic reading on a broader scope. This isn't even much of an Adobe thing, it's really fundamental stuff and I'm sure you can even find tutorials that explain fancy image manipulation in Office apps...

  • Blurry Illustrator images when zoomed in within AE?

    Hi,
I'm animating images I created in Illustrator CS4 using After Effects CS4, and am having a problem with Illustrator images being blurry when I zoom way in using a camera layer within After Effects. I've tried hitting the 'Continuously Rasterize' switch within AE. But when I do that, the camera layer isn't working right because I'm unable to zoom in or out. I'm a relative novice in both these programs, but I'm puzzled by the problem because right now it involves scaling Illustrator layers down and not up, which I thought would be better even if my layer wasn't vector-based. (Someone suggested making sure my layers are vector layers. I assume they are, because I created them as RGB layers within Illustrator. But please let me know if I'm wrong on this point.) Again, I'm scaling these layers down, and not up, so I'm confused by this problem, because my understanding is this kind of thing usually involves scaling layers up. For some context I'm trying to create a shot where I zoom from an extreme CU on a person's face, to an extreme wide shot of the room the person's in.
Any advice on this problem would be hugely appreciated!
    Neil

First thing to do is to determine if your "images" are raster or vector. How were they created? Where they photos that were imported into illustrator? Did you draw them using one of the illustrators tools such as the pen tool, or one of the shape tools? If you did the former, scaling up will cause issues like you have. With the latter you can scale up all you want the continuous rasterization will take care of that.
If it is the latter, it may have to do with how the image is in AE. You said you are moving the camera, but what is the image placed on? Do you have 3d enabled so the z axis is available for your objects and camera?
If it is the former, set the resolution of the photo itself  so the area that is zoomed in on is at 720x640 or what ever your medium will be. In other words if you plan on zooming in on a photo, your photo has to be greater than the medium it will be displayed on. If the photo is less than that, you will get pixelation.

  • Saving webcam images to a server

I would like to write a flash app that accesses a local
    webcam and then on
the click of a button saves a jpg image to a server.
Is this possible, and are there any examples or tutorials.
    Many thanks
    Dave

I'm reading more about this and it seems that this method of
    using flash is
going to be quite intensive for the client machine to send
    the data to the
server and for the server to process and save the jpeg.
I had hoped it would be a quick task which would not be too
    intensive.
Ideally I want to have 10 client machines connected to 1
    server. Each client
machine has a webcam, and can save images of people to the
    server.
    Is this looking unlikely?
Also, is there any similar script for asp/vbscript?
    Thanks

  • 7mins long 1080p footage with transparency placed over webcams image

    Dear All,
I'm working on a flash project, where a 7 minutes long 25fps hd footage (at the moment as a PNG sequence) placed over a webcam's image. Importing the png sequence went all right so far, but when I'm importing the last scene (last 2000 frames) Flash crashes. I guess it's because I've run out of memory (I have 32GB).
Does anybody know a way to
A - import HQ footage with transparency (is there a codec that has alpha and works well with flash)
B - to increase an FLV's max bitrate
C - easily import a large amount of HD images (with transparency) without creating a 30+ gigabyte FLA file
    Thank you in advance!

b (It took an hour to render a 6 min song. Is this normal, even though I've such a fast processor??)
With the number and type of filters you said you've added, that length of time doesn't sound out of the ballpark.
b I then placed the widescreen mask over the top of the nest. (FCP will only allow a max of 2min worth of graphics, so I copied it 3 times to fit over the whole song)
FCP has a wide screen matte filter that can be found in the EFFECTS tab in the Browser. It works by cropping the picture and the width and border (if needed) can be varied. You just drag it and drop it on top of the clip or nest in question.
b I then placed the widescreen mask over the top of the nest. I didn't have to render the mask and it played back fine. Unfortunately at each point where the mask met it caused a jump in frame on the nested track below.
You may have been able tyo watch the effect in real time, but it still needs rendering to play back 100% properly. The jumps you were seeing were most likely artifacts of RT viewing and would most likely have not been there after a COMPLETE render.
b A friend of mine has suggested exporting a Quick Time ref clip (not self contained) then importing it back into FCP.
This is one way of working and consolidants everything into one file. As long as you import this into a new sequence and keep your original, you can still rebuild anything you want by going back to the original sequence.
Finally, If you are doing any colour correction at all, you should be looking at a properly setup broadcast monitor to see what you are doing. Using the computer screen as a reference for colour is going to leave you very dissapointed when you view the final output on a television screen.
    Good Luck

  • Webcam Image ROI snapshoting and saving

    Hey everyone,
I'm somewhat new to Labview and I've only recently gotten the Vision Development Module and the Vision Acquisition software. It's extremely new to me and I'm at a loss. I searched around and couldn't seem to find exactly what I'm looking for, or maybe I didn't understand it enough to know. I'm really just looking for something to get me started. I'm currently using my laptop and I wanted to create a VI that showed what my webcam was seeing continuously, allows the user to drag and focus on a specific area, and can take a snapshot of the user defined spot.
Ultimately I'm going to use the snapshoted image as a comparison to a later snapshoted image. I'm just looking for somewhere to get started. I've played around with some of the functions and was able to see what my webcam was seeing though I had no clue how to take a snapshot of the image of the ROI.
Thanks in advance for the assistance.
EDIT: I added a VI of what I'm currently working with that I found from searching around. It's doing pretty much exactly what I want, but I'm just stuck at the snapshoting of the ROI. I want to save that ROI as an image so that I can later compare it to a different image that's taken later.

    Hello,
if I understand correctly, this should do the trick. You just need to create a ROI property node and extract the subimage (you might need to replace some of the functions (subvi's) with your Labview version (the attachement is saved in Labview 2013 and 2010 in case you have an older version).
Your loop sleeps too little (you are using a refresh rate of 100 fps). Webcameras usually have ~25 - 30 fps, so you should generally match this refresh rate.
    Best regards,
