BO webservices client to generate & fax a report

Hi,
   I am very much new to SAP world. In our current project there is a need to kick off a report generation by passing a report Name / ID, and some input parameters to pull the data to report.
  This report has to be eventually emailed  / faxed.
I am a BO web services consumer. I want to know which interface has to be used.
I thought it is BIplatform and schedule. But Looks like I need to have report object to schedule a report. ALl I need it to kick off a report generation by report name.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So,  this certainly sounds like you are not using the OnDemand services Crystalreports.com or bi.ondemand.com.  I think your issue is better suited to another area.  If you are using custom code then you should be logging this to /community [original link is broken]
Otherwise,  you might find SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence more appropriate.

  • NPE with WebService client with JDeveloper 10.1.3

    Hi folks,
    I am having weird NullPointerException with a WebService client I generated with the WEB Service Proxy wizard in JDeveloper 10.1.3.
    The thing is, the client runs fine as long as there are NO NULL FIELDs in the "double" type returned objects. I don't know about other types, but I am sure it fails with doubles.
    If there is a NULL value in the returned Bean, then marshaling fails with a NullPointerException.
    I guess it is not a Server problem since clients in .NET and AXIS works just fine.
    I don't think it has anything to do with it, but, server is in JBoss-4.0.4.GA with JBossWS-1.0.3.
    May be a bug in JDEV's WebService client code?
    The first line is the deserializer returning a null value. The second is the line with the NPE:
    member = myns2__double__double_Double_Serializer.deserialize(ns4_r1_IA_C1_QNAME, reader, context);
    instance.setR1_IA_C1(((Double)member).doubleValue());
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Best regards.

    This is not an elegant solution.
    I’ve the same problem you have, so the only thing that I thought to solve this problem was to change the sentences one by one replacing with if(member != null) between both sentences.
    I use an editor that can change regular expressions.
    This works fine, but I think there might be a better solution.
    I hope this can help.
    Regards.

  • Problems with client.jar - generated from webservices toolkit from JDK 1.1.7

    We have deployed a web application using the webservices in WL 6.1 using JDK 1.3.1.
    The clients were able to successfully access the servlet it generated and download
    the client.jar. Unfortunately this client.jar seems to be dependent on JDK 1.2
    and beyond. It seems to use java.util.Map class in the JNDI-SOAP SPI.
    Is there any workaround or fix to this problem, so this jar can be used from a
    JDK 1.1.7 env?.
    Our objective is to use WL 6.1 EJB's from WL 4.5.1 using Webservices. Are there
    any known problems with this approach (Ofcourse other than this).
    Thank you.

    How can I fix it?

    I didn't see a mistake, but my sample works fine. Are you trying to execute the client from Workshop / Eclipse? If that is the case, then I believe it's a matter of just using the appropriate client libraries, which I believe is your issue even though the error is misleading. You should definitely try using a Java Project for a stand-alone web service invocation. According to this link: http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs103/webserv_rpc/client.html#wp229351 you simply need 1 jar file named wseeclient.jar on your path, which is archived inside <WL_INSTALL>\wlserver_10.3\server\lib\wseeclient.zip
    Once I set up a new Java Project with wseeclient.jar on my path and my clientgen generated classes, I could invoke the sample.
    Also, here is what the successful invocation from the command line using (ant build, ant deploy, ant run):

  • Adding a WebService Client to a Web Application

    Hi, Everybody,
    I built a Bepl Module in which I had a ECHO WebService and the response parameter is a complex type.
    Then I built a Web application, and used the WSDL file to add a WebService Client to a this Web Application,
    but I found that the WebService Referrence dose not contain any method, so I could not add it in my jsp page.
    But when I changed the Response Message Part Type into a simple one, everything worked fine.
    *All the progress is the same as " [Using a Manually Created WSDL as a Web Service Client|https://open-esb.dev.java.net/kb/v2/javaeesetut.html] ", but change the simple type into complex type.*
    I want to know if the WebService Client Referrence dose not support generating java code which contains complex type or I had a wrong operation?
    thanks

    There are current limitations with the wsimport functionality and an issue has been logged.
    If you have a look at the blog entry from Andrew Hopkinson.....
    [http://blogs.sun.com/toxophily/entry/javacaps_tip_migrating_a_simple]
    ...you'll see part way down what the WSDL must look like to work with wsimport, i.e.....
    Message parts must be created using an Element rather than a specific type and the element must be defined in a local in-line schema.
    This in-line element can only contain a sequence with a single sub-element of a specific Complex Type.
    The name of the input element must be the same as the operation it will be used in.
    nillable element option should not be used because this will cause your strings to be returned as JAXBElements and not Strings.
    ...etc....
    Bit painful I know, but this is the only workaround until the bug is fixed.

  • Not able to generate BI publisher report in siebel 8.1.1

    Hi,
    we want to generate a BIP report with all the opportunity names on the current view in siebel 8.1.1 client console.
    For this we are following these steps:
    1)In BI publisher we are creating a new report after writing a sql query using OLTP datasource.
    2)We have exported and generated the Xml from the output of the BI publisher application.
    3)We used Oracle BI publisher desktop(Addins) to create RTF file.
    4)We have uploaded the XML which was generated in step2 and generated the XLF file.
    5)We registered the report thru Template Registration view in Siebel application and associated the rtf and xlf files with that.We have given a vanilla Integration object for that template."BIP Opportunity List-Current Query".
    6)After executing the report we are getting null records in the report output.
    Please help if anybody have any idea............

    Hi ,
    Is the template is working fine from Word.
    Upload the template check what are all the ouput options that are enabled in BIpublihser template layout.
    Thanks,

    Does anybody has an idea what I do wrong, or which settings might be incorrect? Futhermore, what are the further steps to issue the report in the SD module - report shipping?
    Help is much appreciated!

    Hi Roy,
    Check and activate the QWWI server for the second job wwi - 110. Try once to generate the MSDS.

  • An error occured while generating a new report template

    I have installed the Crystal Reports 2008 V2 and also the support pack. Installed the SAP Integration Kit XI 3.1 and the latest service pack 2.7. When I try to use the SAP Tool bar from Crystal Report , I can connect/see the queries but when I select any query to create a report I am getting an error message
    "An error occured while generating a new report template". Any advise ? How do I turn on the trace in the client ?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    Did you update your Fix Pack...
    Here is solution for Client...
    To turn tracing on for client applications, you can use the following steps:
    1. Click Start > Settings > Control Panel > System > Advanced > Environment Variables button.
    2. Under the User Variables, add the following variable and value:
    For Enterprise XI:
    Variable Name: BOE_LOGGER_ENVIRONMENT
    Variable Value: -trace -loggingPath c:\logs
    For Crystal Analysis, Crystal Enterprise, and Crystal Reports version 10 and earlier:
    Variable Name: CRYSTAL_LOGGER_ENVIRONMENT

    It looks like, the situation with "Client Generation: Error" occures, if Proxy is enabled in Eclipse. If it's disabled, client is generated.
    But the first question still remains.

  • Change webservice client transport/binding

    I am migrating web service client generated by clientgen from 7.0 to 8.1. 7.0 client uses weblogic.webservice.binding.soap.HttpClientBinding which works directly with sockets and is fine for me. But 8.1 uses weblogic.webservice.binding.http11.Http11ClientBinding which works with java.net.HttpUrlConnection that requires proxy being set in java system property which is system wide and I cannot use that. HttpClientBinding uses system wide setting as well but it is webservice client specific at least.
    So I want use HttpClientBinding in 8.1 as well. I am able to change it by calling
    BindingFactory.getInstance().register("http11", weblogic.webservice.binding.soap.HttpClientBinding.class);
    but this is again system wide setting which I am afraid of because of influencing other WS clients not using proxy. Is it possible to do it somehow in per client basis?
    Injecting custom Binding info with getTransport returning "http" or in some other way.
    Alternatively any way allowing me to set proxy on per WS client is solution for me

    Hi Dahran,
    SCC7 is for post import.
    first you have to import the transports generated during the export into your client.
    STMS. Go to your import queue and choose in the menu
    Extras ->Other requests add
    Fill in the transport number of one of the generated transports during the export. (something like <SID>KX0000x)
    <b>After</b> the import you have to perform the SCC7

  • How to handle exception propagation in webservice client?

    Hi ,
    Is there a way to catch an exception thrown by Webservice server handler?
    We have a situation where we need to handle the exception on the client side thrown by the server handler.
    We are using Webspehere webservices created thru RAD 7 and clients are generated using axis 2 code generator tool. We generate WSDL from java class rather than Java from WSDL.
    We have vague idea that we can use wsld fault mechanism but does not have much implementation knowledge on it.
    Any ideas on this will be great help.
    Thanks in advance..

    Here is little more detail ::
    We have our regular webservices which has some business methods. Also we have a custom handler which extends javax.xml.rpc.handler.GenericHandler to handle requests [public boolean handleRequest(MessageContext context){
    return true;
    }] for all our application Webservices.
    So, in case of any application errors, handler throws an excpetion which we expect it to be caught in the client stub. e.g. if our application throws InvalidDataException with a specific message on it, we expect it to be caught in the client code as InvalidDataException with the original message on it.
    Is there a way to achieve this?
    Thanks,

  • Netbeans 5.5 WebService Client - How do I pass a parameter to the service?

    I'm using Netbeans 5.5 and have generated a webservice client (JAX-WS 2.0) off of the existing WSDL. The webservice requires me to pass it some information. Per the generated code, it is expecting an EncryptedData object. The problem is, I have no idea what the content of this data object should be as it pertains to an anonymous complex type. The code generated for this class is listed below. Any ideas? By the way, I know what SOAP should be generated... I just don't know how to stick the soap information into this EncryptedData object. Thanks!
    * <p>Java class for anonymous complex type.
    * <p>The following schema fragment specifies the expected content contained within this class.
    * <pre>
    * <complexType>
    * <complexContent>

    * <sequence>
    * <any/>
    * </sequence>
    * </restriction>
    * </complexContent>
    * </complexType>
    * </pre>
    @XmlAccessorType(XmlAccessType.FIELD)
    @XmlType(name = "", propOrder = {

    * This accessor method returns a reference to the live list,

    * This is why there is not a <CODE>set</CODE> method for the content property.
    * <p>
    * For example, to add a new item, do as follows:
    * <pre>
    * getContent().add(newItem);
    * </pre>
    * <p>
    * Objects of the following type(s) are allowed in the list
    * {@link Object }
    * {@link String }
    public List<Object> getContent() {
    if (content == null) {
    content = new ArrayList<Object>();
    return this.content;

    hello,
    I have done exactly as you have mentioned but I am facing prob passing String or XML data in the newItem variable:
    If I run the below code in jsp --->
    EncryptedData eD=new EncryptedData ();
    String newItem="test";
    eD.getContent().add(newItem);
    port.webMethod(eD);
    I encouter the following error at runtime:
    javax.xml.bind.MarshalException - with linked exception: [com.sun.istack.SAXException2: unable to marshal type "java.lang.String" as an element because it is missing an @XmlRootElement annotation]
    Pls help me pass either XML or String value to the webservice inside this encrpteddata.
    Thanx 4 ton 4 ur time and help.

  • Problem invoking from a BPEL process webservice client

    I have a BPEL Synchronous process that invokes a webservice deployed on Tomcat. The process executes without any exception when I run it from the BPEL Console. Since I want to execute the BPEL process as a command line operation, I created a BPEL Process Webservice client from scratch using Axis as described in Tutorial7 - InvokingBPELProcesses.pdf. However when I try to execute the client, I get the following error:
    AxisFault
    faultCode: {http://xml.apache.org/axis/}Server.generalException
    faultSubcode:
    faultString: Dispatcher send error.
    An error occurred while sending a batch message to the dispatch queue. The exception is: Failed to create &quot;java:comp/env/ejb/local/DispatcherLocalBean&quot; bean; exception reported is: &quot;javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: ejb/local/DispatcherLocalBean not found in startup_war&#xd;
