Boca Raton Experience - DONT BOTHER

Just wanted to share my experience at Best Buy Boca.
I wanted to check the Sonos wireless out and see it's functionality. Couldn't find anyone that knew anything about it. They tried to sell me a bridge as well as the connect server. I asked about Sirius told me I needed a seperate device for that. In the end after the 3rd associate I gave up. Asked for the manager who came along explained I wanted some information. Had a couldn't care less attitude so I told him I wasn't buying from them. Again couldn't care let me walk out rather than spend nearly $1500.00 in the store.
Just placed an order on Amazon now - screw BB.
Don't go expecting anything advice or demos at West Boca Raton.
BB - you should be ashamed of this disgusting service.

I agree.  Add to that the seasonal staff on the floor at this time of year, and your chances of finding someone not knowledgeable go up.  I *always* do my own research before walking through the door, and then when I want some hands on time with the hardware in question, I hit the store.  I will say that a knowledgeable salesperson will increase the chance that I will buy in the store, as opposed ot buying online.
THe problem is that everyone wants the cheapest prices possible, so that means that there is very little overhead for training...meaning that associates have to be self motivated to learn their product.  Since they are no longer commissioned sales, there is no incentive other than personal pride to motivate them.  Sad indeed. They should be paid more.

  • Glass replacement for iPad 2 in Boca Raton

My mother has been working with a sorely cracked iPad 2 glass for a year now and I made a pact with her to fix it. Anyone in the Boca Raton, Fl area know a place to get this glass replaced reasonably? I hate to send her to the Apple Store for 269.00 or therabouts. Thank you.

UbreakIfix on Federal Hwy is around $120-130 for iPad 2 replacement glass

  • TV tuner card in 8600, is it practical or dont bother?

    Hi all,
I was successful in adding a TV tuner card running OS 9.2.2 with app ixTV into my 8600/300 PM. Due to the fact I dont have cable I'm able to only view TV a little clear. Should I just put this card into my G4 AGP which has a Nividia Gforce 64MB video card? Will I get any better viewing results??
    Thanks
    web dude

If it functions well enough and gives you reason to fire up the 8600, I'd leave it in it. In February 2009, the tuner card will need a digital-to-analog converter box, so you're looking at a little over 6 months of usage with the ixMicro software interface for channel surfing. After that, the ixTV tuner will stay set to channel 3 or 4, while using the remote control that ships with the converter box.

  • Terrible Customer Experience at both the store & call center!

I’ve just had the worst customer service experience at Version Wireless.  Absolutely TERRIBLE!
I upgraded my plan to the unlimited shared plan to avoid wireless overage charges.  I attempted this through the Verizon application but I had concerns because it kept timing out.  I tried to call into the call center but after waiting on hold for 30 minutes I hung up and gave the app another try.  When I logged back on it looked like the change was made but I kept getting overage messages.  I figured this was an old message from before and would go into my local Verizon store when I got back into town to verify.
A week later I got back into town and went to my local Verizon store for help (10/22/12).  I had a terrible experience.  I was greeted at the door and my name was taken down.  I sat there and waited, and waited…  I finally approach a Verizon employee to ask if they could just help me real quick.  I was quickly dismissed, he said he could not help.  So I waited even longer…  Finally, the door greeter came up to me again and asked if I’ve been helped.  I said no of course…  He said it looks like he forgot to add my name to the list.
Finally, after an hour of waiting, I was seen.  The Verizon person who assisted me confirmed my plan did change but noticed I was billed overage. She said I'd have to call into the call center to discuss my plan further and why I was charged overage (frustrated)!
So, I called the call center again, got passed around…  Finally got a rep who said this was all my fault.  She said “I” asked to plan to start NEXT MONTH, not this month which was totally false.  I explained to her the situation with the application timing out but she said it’s still my fault.  I asked to speak to her manager…  I get her manager on the phone (Teresa) and she empathized with my situation and apologized for the error but said since the bill cycle just closed she could only offer a 40% discount.  This is just crazy…  How does a company know they’re wrong only offer a 40% discount on the overage for their mistake?
Long story short, I did not take the 40% as that is just a slap in the face.  I’m in the process of escalating this to their executive level to see if they can listen to my story.
Terrible!  Verizon may have the most 4G LTE Coverage but the WORST customer service by far!  “Customer is always wrong!”

First of all, I assume you mean unlimited minutes and texting since Verizon does not offer unlimited data anymore.
How is Verizon wrong or "know" they are wrong. YOU did not "speak" with anyone from Verizon who told you the change had in fact taken place. YOU, instead, looked online and it "appeared" the change had been made even though you were still receiving overage messages. YOU assumed it must be an old message. At this point YOU still had not gotten confirmation that your new plan was in effect, although YOU continued on as if it had.
And YOU think that "Verizon" is wrong. It seems that YOU were the one who was wrong. I would take the 40% if you can still get it.
It seems that they are offering you a discount even when they don't really need to. How is THAT bad customer service?

  • 9320 ISSUES- dont bother repairing phones

My phone has been practically useless for the past year now, its been sent for repairs around 4-5 times through carphone warehouse to blackberry, at which i am left without a phone for two weeks until blackberry decide to give me the same 'broken' phone back with masses of dust crammed within the screen and then claim to have repaired it, EVERYTIME. Clearly, a repair does not occur as the faults within the phone appear almost straight away, i realise that im not the only one who must have complained about faulty blackberrys as its because a norm for all blackberry uses.
The phone continuously freezes, restarts, 'battery is too low for radio use' at full battery and turns off anywhere. So is it fair to carry on paying monthly for a barely functioning phone? I've two phones with talkmobile and quite frankly this blackberry has become unbearable.
So, does anyone know how i should deal with this as it seems as ive reached a dead end because neither blackberry or carphone warehouse seem to care

Nobody here works for BlackBerry so we can't help you. If you bought it at Carphone Warehouse your issue is with them. When my device fails i call TMobile and they send me a replacement and I simply return the old device in the same box with the label they send. Your carrier is the one with poor service. The devices they have repaired don't go to "BlackBerry" for repair but to 3rd party repair facilities.
    1. Please thank those who help you by clicking the "Like" button at the bottom of the post that helped you.
    2. If your issue has been solved, please resolve it by marking the post "Solution?" which solved it for you!

  • 790GX-G65 worst experience of all time

So here i was an avg gamer. The only game i ever played was Arma 2 That game was CPU intensive and could only max out at 31-35 avg FPS.
    My build specs were:
    MSI 975x platinum edition
    core 2 duo E6700 (2.66ghz OC to 3.10ghz)
    4gb ddr 2 ram 667mhz
    maxtor 250GB
Antec Neo Power Blue 650 watt PSU
ATI HD 4870 (Palit sonic dual edition) 512MB
My friend showed off his gaming rig. 4gb ddr3 and AMD phenom II x4 945.. His benchmarks in Arma 2 were great. I had just enough money. so i sold my Mobo, cpu, and ram and bought the following:
    MSI 790GX-G65
    AMD phenom II x4 945 (95watt) (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103809&cm_re=phenom_II_945-_-19-103-809-_-Product)
    and G-skill 2x1GB DDR3 1333mhz
    500GB Samsung spinpoint f3
I removed cleaned and properly installed everything... And this has been my experience so far....
tried to boot from my old maxtor first just to test out my new cpu's power. had to change a few boot settings. when i got onto the logon screen BAM a gfx glitch (pink looked like a thumb print) and pc was completely unresponsive...
i thought it was my gfx card (i had just rma'd the thing because of bad memory problems) so i couldnt believe it.. i quickly shut off to prevent further damage... to my surprise when i rebooted to bios, no gfx glitch. i figured it was the drivers.. my friend suggest i install windows 7 on my new spinpoint and start fresh..
I spend 3 hours trying to install windows 7 because the disc would never finnish. it would freeze after the logo... i went back to bios changed a few things unplugged devices... finally i thought it was the new ram.. tried out both ram chips individually in dimm1 and dimm2 one by one to no avail. windows memory diagnoistics reported no problems. We finally managed to load it after we found out the OC switch on the mobo was on.. weird the CPU was running at 3.30ghz instead 3.0. But when the completing installation stage started windows the pc would just randomly reboot also causing the installation to be corrupted forcing me to try again and again and again
So i put vista in, it finally installed but it would crash when "adjusting windows performance". This told me it was a hardware problem... me and my friend narrowed it down to the cpu/mobo. What fixed my problem was lowering the multiplier from default (x15) to x13. To our surprise i could finally logon to the new windows. My friend told me to instantly download prime95 and run a test to see what was going on.. Also to check CPU-Z and temps
Almost instantly after hitting the start button in prime95 the pc crashed. So fast it felt like the start button was more like a "shutdown" button :O
CPU-Z said that the cpu voltage was at 1.456 and avg around there... He told me it shouldnt be like that since his 945 avgs out at 1.3 or less
Changing the bios "CPU Voltage" would make the pc not startup.. (screen would stay black) i couldn't even get into the bios. So i had to "clr CMOS" and try again.... and again.... and not ONE setting i tried for the "CPU voltage" was successful...
Finally i installed windows 7 and would you look at that.. it installed. But anything higher than x13 muiltiplier would cause crashing in any programs... even sometimes starting CPU-Z would crash.. watching 1080P videos would crash... everytime everytime...
and windows was so unresponsive at times with these weird stutters that lasted 1-3 seconds every 5 seconds. It was ridiculous. Why should i have to underclock my new cpu from the default values to 2.6 just to start my OS..
We Tried everything buying new thermal paste reapplying thermal paste (6 times) changing coolers, i bought the best paste out there (artic silver 5) nothing...
Finally changing the mobo to optimized defaults again and going directly to the "CPU Voltage" setting changing it to 1.284V my mobo booted without having to clear cmos. BUT HERE IS THE SHOCKER: temps where at 85C-90C range like 200F !!!!! i couldnt believe it.. so i shut off instantly and clrd cmos..temps dropped down again to the low to high 40's.
Here i am now.. with an underclocked overvoltaged phenom II x4 945 edition barely able to run windows. My bios is updated to the latest wich is 4.10 and i dont know what else to do. Faulty CPU? doubt it. All i know so far is that my mobo is just sending waay to much power to my cpu causing the quick overheat and shut off. I've spent 5 miserable days since i got my new build trying to just run the default values. NOthing... so i'm contacting you msi guys and the people on these forums to please guide me. my last 5 days have been hell..
Anyways my friend says my new cpu is not on the mobo support list which is true, but the other 945 is. not the new revision i have so maybe thats also a contributing factor....
O and another weird thing.. sometimes i can play arma 2.. performance is not too good because of the hiccups, but it doesnt crash my pc.. Except when i tried to raise the cpu/fsb multiplier up to x14 it would crash sometimes.
ANYWAYS please help me figure this out i dont understand all these experiences dont make sense to me.

Well, this is the motherboard i have:
    http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=proddesc&prod_no=1739&maincat_no=1
I dont know how to check if its a "winkie" board.?
Anyways. I can confirm that flashing the bios back to 4.0 did nohing for me.. Exact same results. I also changed my PSU and got exact same problem.
     So so far its not:
    Ram
    PSU
Cooler (i'm pretty sure its not the cooler because i went from my antec cooler to reapplying paste on my antec to stock cooler to reapplying paste on stock cooler twice. After 4-5 times playing with the coolers and paste i'm pretty sure its not the Cooler/paste causing the issue.
    Quote
And 97C isn't possible, the board should shutdown at about 70C.
I gurantee you this is what the motherboard monitoring stated.
yes 45C isnt good i know that. And i cant seem to do anything about it. The weird thing is the first test run the temperature was at high 30's second try with reapplied paste bios said temperature was at the low 20's (21-23C) But as i booted OCCt temperatures readings said 70C which made no sense to me.
So i finally put the stock cooler and so far all the readings have been in the 43-47C range. Except for that one time i changed the "Cpu Voltage (V)" to 1.2840 which btw was the highest setting possible in the bios and caused my readings to go off the chart at 97C range. I can confirm doing this over and over will give me same results. All the higher settings are in red or "Not recommended" and also force the mobo to not boot. 1.2840V is the only setting that i can change aside from auto that will alow my mobo to reboot. And its also the highest thats not in the red zone
I'm now able to get on with you guys because the multiplier is at 13X and temps in OCCT AND mobo are conistent with one another reading at 45-47C.
My friend is suggesting me to get a new mobo but before i do i want to know if it's really the motherboard or the cpu... I bought this cpu last week and i can still RMA it if thats the problem.

  • Can I install both Snow Leopard and Windows 7 on the same version of VMWare 5?

Even though I am running Apple OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.3 on my new 2013 iMac, I have just installed VMWare's "Fusion 5" so I can have Windows 7 installed on the "Fusion 5, for limited usage needs.
I also would like to have a running version of Snow Leopard available to run my large collection of original Lynda.com training DVD's and CD's ... which unfortunately, now only allow the Lynda.com GUI player to operate in (and up to) Snow Leopard (at least this is what the Tech folks at Lynda.com have told me).
Since Lynda.com is no longer producing any or their training programs on CD or DVD any longer, and because they have stopped supporting their training programs to run on Lion and above, I will have to have a version of Snow Leopard installed to run these training programs, and still be able to run them using the Lynda.com GUI player.
    So here's my dilemma:
    1.  Can I install both a version of Snow Leopard OS on my "VMWare "Fusion 5" .... along with a running version of Windows 7 on       the same "Fusion 5"?
    2.  Do I install only the Windows 7 on the VMWare, and find some other "device" to run a version of Snow Leopard off of?
    3.  Do I consider using "BootCamp", in conjunction with "Fusion 5", to get access to both Snow Leopard and Windows 7?
Has anyone had any experience installing BOTH a previous (older) version of Apple OSX  ... AND ... a Windows OS version on one installed version of VMWare "Fusion"?
    OR
Any suggestions on how to set up having access to both Snow Leopard and Windows 7 .... while keeping OS Mountain Lion as my main OS?

    mende1
Thanks ... the "You have to purchase Snow Leopard Server" I knew about, and a few days ago I just ordered a copy from the Apple Store:
    Snow Leopard Server - Ordered at: 1-800-692-7753 ... OR ... 1-866-254-8313
I asked for Apple Snow Leopard Server (Model MC588Z/A (SLSVR)
    "Unlimited Client License"
It was around $25.50 (USD) with sales tax and shipping (NYS).
One thing though ... when you mention:  "you should make two virtual machines".
Not being too familiar with "Fusion 5" yet, Is setting up "two machine" all done under one installed version of "Fusion 5"?
Would you have "links" to any "Fusion 5" installation instructions/info for setting up the
"two machines" (one for Snow Leopard and one for Windows 7)?

  • Miserable experience with replacement LG Fathom, that replaced defective TP2

    Freezes
    It does freeze.
    Alarms don't work right
I use the alarms & those didn't work right. I had set 1 for 9:30 pm & 1 for 10 pm,  The 10 pm one got up to 12 alarms--even though only 1 was set. Tech support wanted me to do a hard reboot but wasn't very thrilled about that as I would then have to reinstall software & re-set up linking & set up email all over again.
After awhile I turned off the alarms. But they still went off. I did check--they were turned off. & then it got so the 9:30 one would freeze the whole phone. I couldn't activate the buttons to make it stop or snooze---they didn't respond & the whole phone was frozen so I would have to reset.
Finally I deleted both alarms & set them up again. Working better, but again the 9:30 one has about 6 alarms that go off so I have to stop each one. I think one time I stopped all & the 10 pm one didn't go off. They are supposed to help remind me to start windiing down--the 9:30 one & then to seriously shut down the computer & get ready for bed.
Sometimes they don't seem to go off or accidentally get turned off.
Volume buttons can get bumped & turn to silen so calls missed
Another issue is that the volume up down buttons can get bumped. A while ago I was trying to set up a drs appt I think it was & was waiting for a call back. I finally called them back when I hadn't heard. I think they said they had tried to call. Later I saw that they had--4x but I discovered the volume was turned off so I missed those important calls.  Not good.
The keyboard is not very nice.
    Downgrade replacement for defective TP2
This was a replacement for my defective Touch Pro 2. I had paid for that top of the line phone, & in CA we have to pay sales tax on the full list price!  Someone (obviously going by the specs, not actual usage) raved about how this phone was supposed to be so super. NOT.  The list price was about half that of the TP2. It doesn't have the digital voice recorder the TP2 did, nor a lot of the HTC features that I liked & used like the automatic vibrate for appts that were listed as busy. & I really miss the way that I was able to set several cities up in world clock & then I could easily see what time it was & what the weather was. Nice when friends were in those ciities.
The keyboard on this is smaller & I keep getting periods in the middle of the sentence when typing emails which then makes the next letter a capital &makes it hard to read. It has 1 less row in the keyboard. The phone is smaller than the TP2, so easier to carry, but harder to see.
Someone called me on Thanksgiving & I didn't recognize the area code, but I was trying to answer & must have accidentally used the wrong slider so the call disappeared. Then there was some icon at the top, but it was so small I couldn't really tell that it was a voice mail indicator, so I didn't check until way late at night.
Verizon called this an upgrade--even though it was actually a replacement for a top of the line phone (the TP2 was a cool phone, if only it had worked well but it got so that it would randomly change orientation while I was trying to read an email, & it got so the backlight wouldn't always come on & sometimes even after pressing it multiple times) but I would call this a downgrade. While the processor is about 2x as fast as the TP2, it doesn't really work noticeably faster. I guess that's the winmob OS.
    Win mobile issues
& of course then Microsoft did a # on users of WinMob 6.5 when they came out with Windows phone 7 which is totally incompatible. So phones that ran 6.5 can't run 7 & the software is incompatible. I had gotten it for busines where we had aps that needed 6.5.
It has been a miserable experience with both of these phones, when I bought the TP2 I went for the premium phone, planning to keep it for over 2 years. Instead it had multiple issues its 1st year which I put up with for months. Finally got the replacement Fathom, which again, Verizon kept calling an upgrade but its really a downgrade.  I had paid for a top of the line phone, & got an inferior phone, smaller keyboard, & screen, less features & it doesn't work so well.
Are smart phones less reliable than regular cell phones?
I don't know if smart phones in general are less relaible than regular cell phones or what, but my experience has been very frustrating all the way. These are supposed to be productivity enhancers. Instead I've had way too many issues, & often tech support, while usually nice & trying to help, they didn't always know what they were talking about.
Want a reliable smart phone that does what it is supposed to do--feel ripped off
So I'm frustrated with this not very reliable phone & want to get a reliable phone. But I sure wasn't planning to have to buy a new phone this soon. My previous phone was a basic LG flip phone with speaker & no camera & that thing just worked so I kept it for about 5 years until I needed the win mob phone for biz. I no longer need it for that, & it isn't working very well, but I don't really want to spend the $ for a new phone right now.
Really frustrated with the bad experiences with both phones.  I feel like I didn't get what I paid for & again I went for a top of the line phone, intending to keep it for several years, not expecting all the problems I've had with both phones. btw, the Fathom retail price was about half that of the TP2, even though the 2 yr agreement price was the same. but in CA we pay sales tax on the full retail.
I would like to be able to get another smart phone that is really reliable like an iPhone, but really wasn't planning on buying a new phone this soon.

    Greetings caatkins4,
When your phone is the lifeline to your job, it would be most frustrating to experience issues such as the ones you've described, especially if you do not have a back up in place for when things go wrong. All of our phones are tested to make sure they meet the manufacturer’s specifications before being sent out. It is regretful to hear that the refurbished Samsung Galaxy Note 3 you received may not have met these specifications once it was in your hands.
I was able to review your services when I located your Geek Squad Protection plan with the email address you registered with the forum. Unfortunately, at this time we would only be able to provide you with another replacement. It appears we've already created the service order necessary, and presently, it appears that a tracking number has been created for your replacement phone. It should ship soon if it hasn't already, as it sometimes takes up to 24 hours for UPS to update their shipping information.
I apologize if this is of any inconvenience to you. If you should have any questions, please feel welcome to reach out to me.

  • Which is a better buy for college a non-retina display 15 inch macbook pro with a 2.6ghz processor or a 2.9 ghz 13 inch non retina max specs macbook pro both with 8 gb of ram will be using to write papers basically for general use im a Science major

im a college student im studying to be a vet tech and i want this computer too last which a more sound investment the non retina macook pro 15 inch with these specs:2.6 ghz 1 tb ata hd with 8 gb of ram or a maxspec 13 inch mac book pro: 2.9 ghz 1Tb and 8gb of ram any help is appreciated thank you

    Hi,
I am a researcher so I store a lot of papers, data, and use numerical software. I have had a 17inch high spec macbook pro for over a year now. I find that apart from the large screen, it was unnecessary to get the high specs. This is why. Firstly, the hard drive is easy to replace and upgrade, apple charge a lot for their own ones. Secondly, the ram in my one was upgradable (which i didnt know when i bought it) and i since upgraded to 16gigs from 8 and its amazing. Thirdly, the newer macbook pros run hotter than the previous ones.
The retina is overrated and the programs for retina need more memory and processing power, so what you find is that your hard drive will get taken over sooner, your mac will run hotter, and battery life lower.
I would say to you, dont worry about the processor speed, the normal speed offered is perfect, more than that is not necessary unless you are running highly demanding apps, the mac will run hotter too. Dont bother getting a large hard drive in the macbook. Get a flash SSD drive, and buy a good portable 2tb HD, like a WD one, and use that to store as much of your work as possible. I believe apple started soldering their ram cards to the motherboard or something so that people cant upgrade. Check in advance and see if the macbook you want can be ram upgradable, then get a lower ram model and buy good 8gb ram cards to make 16gig. Very very easy to install them, took me about two minutes to do mine, it will be much cheaper.
If I think of anything else i will post back. Dont forget to install GFX card status too and use integrated only when on battery, i get up to ten hours of battery life without wifi, around 8 with wifi.
edit. I forgot to mention that if you buy your mac and try to open it you will void the warranty.

  • Installing WRT54G with both Vista and XP OS Access

First, I'm a new member of this forum.
I'm am preparing to update to a new Linksys WRT54G router.  We have one computer (HP 8100N) which has Microsoft Vista Home Premium installed; but our other 3 computers all use Windows XP SP 2.   The Linksys WRT54 G and Linksys Router are all plugged into the Vista machine ---with one other PC (Gateway) and 2 laptops (Toshiba and a Dell) all connecting wirelessly.
RIght now things work ok --- but it's been 5 years since I've made any major changes.  However, I've experienced a rash of virus challenges lately and suspect somehow the router has been compromised; hence my desire to completely change it out.  At the same time, I'm not too excited about creating problems with the Vista and XP connectivity.
Any recommendations would be appreciated. Apology to Forum if this is posted twice; it appeared not to go through the first time.
    Thank you very much

    Chris:
I have experience with both, Vista and XP. I use a MBP 15" 2GB RAM and I have had great success with both. I really no not overload my system. I have software to connect to the internet and full office 2007 Suite. So, mostly internet and productivity software. No major issues with either.

  • I presently use the Pinnacle Studio program, and am considering purchasing an Apple computer, and using Final Cut Pro X, although all of the previews I have seen appear to be difficult. Is their anyone who has used both?

I have been using Pinnacle Studio, and am considering purchasing an Apple computer, and Final Cut Pro X. I have looked at several tutorials, and am concerned that the program may be over my head, as it appears to be difficult. I wonder if there is anyone out there who has experience with both programs, and can advise me.

Ah yes, I remember Pinnacle Studio crashes very well, even with my reasonably powerful PC.  Anyhow, I am running FCPX on a Late 2012 27" iMac, 3.2 GHz Intel Core i5, with 16 GB RAM.  I also run it on a Mid 2009 15" MacBook Pro, 2.53 GHz Intel Core Core 2 Duo, with 8 GB RAM.  It runs great on both Macs, although there is more beachballing on the MBP - I don't use background rendering on it.  There are also plenty of people out there running it successfully on a Mac Mini.  The usual recommendation is to get the best Mac you can afford.  Don't forget to budget money for an external Thunderbolt hard drive!

  • General experiences from ehp3 to ehp4

We are considering the move from ehp3 to ehp4 pending some input and consent from our business units.
Our issue is that applying ehp3 was very "painful".  It took a long time and was technically very challenging.  We have since had turnover in our SAP system administration team and have a very thin team both in numbers and experience.
Consequently, we were wondering in general terms what we might expect based on others experience.  Both in terms of time to prepare and implement.
We have been doing some preliminary investigation into this issue and are aware of then necessity to completely understand the EHP installer and Solution manager integration, but are also interested in any other practical "lessons learned".
We have read many "official" claims of reduced effort and downtime, but have also heard of actual implentations that aren't exactly in line with these expectations.
So again, any general review would be a great help!
    thanks,
    Jeff Henke

    Hello,
We also had a lot of problems with EHP3, especially with very long elapse times to implement all the patches via SPAM/SAINT.
EHP4 however went very smoothly, EHP4 uses the EHP installer which limits the downtime significantly (downtime only 5 hours in our case).
What I always recommend is the following link :
    http://service.sap.com/erp-ehp
Especially the document "Must Know", explains very well the lifecycle of the EHP installation, from preparation phase to implementation phase.
The document also contains very interesting SAP Notes and also explains how the Solution Manager MOPZ should be used and configured.
Preparation is the key factor in a successfull EHP implementation, this document is a good starting point.
    Success !

  • I have access to both Vista and XP - which is the preferred?

Since I have access to both Vista and XP I was wondering which is the most preferred? I have an iMac and MBP that I will be installing the OS on. Thanks.

    Chris:
I have experience with both, Vista and XP. I use a MBP 15" 2GB RAM and I have had great success with both. I really no not overload my system. I have software to connect to the internet and full office 2007 Suite. So, mostly internet and productivity software. No major issues with either.

  • Is it possible to request free hardware/software if i prove need & desire?

My name is Christopher Kelly... I'm a severely handicapped individual - im wheelchair bound and only have the use of one arm.. I type with three fingers on one hand, and have wanted to be a freelance writer / novelist my entire life.. Unfortunately, due to my circumstances I'm not ablke to adequately provide for myself (I made $8,000 last year - as a result I'm basically stuck with living at home with my parents until something amazing happens - like I sell a novel or something..) Anyway - to cut directly to the bottom line - one of the few things that I've wanted is to buy a nice mac laptop and a 30inch cinema display.. unfortunately, due to the fact that I make so little, and my expenses are so high (my manual wheelchair alone cost $15,000), the odds of me ever meetiung that goal under my own power is as close to totally impossible as it could possibly be.. I was just wondering if Apple ever donates hardware and software to those who can prove a need, and the desire to use whatever is donated to make a difference. I've recently started a blog that i intend to use to help connect other disabled folks with reliable information pertaining to the ADA, and am in the process of petitioning every member of congress to consider completely rewriting the Americand With Disabilities Act with a piece of legislation thats actually constitutional and actually provides protection against job descrimination... I'm one of the few disabled people in America that actually attempts to work and provide for myself - but its not easy because... fighting social stigma is a lot harder than you might think.. regardless of the fact that I'm A+ certified and am undeniably intelligent, local businesses simply refuse to give me a fair chance at a real job making real money.. Anyway - I dont believe in asking for charity simply because I think the world owes me something... I'd just - really like to achieve one of my lifes biggest dreams and use the hardware and software provided to make a difdference in the disabled community. Many disabled folks dont even bother trying to work or educate themselves... 90% dojnt have part or full time jobs, and more than 80% just sit at home and collect SSI benefits. Anyway - I was just wondering if any of you knew of somebody within apple that i could talk to, or an organisation that specializes in providing either grants or direct access to Apple Hardware and software if I can prove that I have a legitimate need and an honorable intention and purpose for the equipment provided to me... If any of you have any information whatsoever, or even a word of encouragement, my email address is [email protected] -- my blog is located at christopher-ryan.net
Thanks from the bottom of my heart, just for reading through this post.
    Most Sincerely,
    CRK
    Boca Raton FL. -- USA
P.S. I know that a fully loaded macbookpro and a 30" cinema display is a lot to ask for, but i figure... if I'm going to petition congress, find a way to digitally unite an entire demographic of peopel through the power of the internet, and aspire to writing a pulitzer prize winning novel, why not do it with as much style as is humanly possible... Theres simply no bigger statement of style, eloquence, and finesse than a tricked out macbook pro and a 30 inch cinema display.. ...and lets face it - I'd rather use Linux on my old computer than petition ANYBODY for a new computer running Windows... even though Im a geek living below the poverty line -- I've got to have some self respect and standards... neither of which i would compromisse for a chance to run windows..

The problem here is that you're asking for something for nothing without proving what you can or have done. Saying 'make a difference' is an empty statement, and a web-site with one blog entry doesn't cut it. Write a plan like it's a business plan, and then act on it. It will be a lot more credible when you present articles from your local paper about how you did this task, or set-up that group, and how it benefited those around you.
Try not to be to grandiose, the more ambitious projects you start the more you dilute your resources.
You might want to start by focusing your energy into making your new web-site the place to be. There you can collect donations, collate ideas, garner a community of like-minded individuals and, crucially, make your presence known. If you think you've got a knack for making money, prove it here.
Finally set your sites a little lower - beggars can't be choosers. A 30" screen? Most people don't have TV's that big, and you sit a heck of a lot further back from a TV than your computer monitor. For novel writing you can get two pages side-by-side at over 130% on 1680x1050, and that's luxury; there are PhD students on G3 iBooks producing work worthy of Nature or Science. You can 'make a difference' on an eMac - otherwise where is the line drawn?

  • Can't Get Rid Of Space At Page Bottom

I'm doing a redesign of my website and there is a space at the bottom of my page that I can't get rid of. Some pages the space is fine. But most are not. Here's a screen shot of the good and the bad:
    The Good:
    The Bad:
I make the appropriate changes in Dreamweaver so it looks right but when I view it over the internet there is too much space. Does anyone know how I can remove this extra space?
    Thank You!

    Here's the bad:

First I see the amount of human growth hormone in your oral spray per dose but I'm wondering how that would compare to the amount in a prescription injectable dose?<br />

<p class="bodytext">Send the bottle or bottles back to: 21st Century HGH, 22724 Meridiana Drive, Boca Raton, FL 33433.</p>
<p class="bodytext">We appreciate your business and if you aren't happy neither are we. Returns are not a big deal for us. We only get about 1 or 2 per month, less than one half of one percent of our business. We don't hold your money for weeks and weeks.  It usually takes us only 24-48 hours to issue a refund after receiving all bottles, new and used, back in the mail from you. </p>
<p class="bodytext">Some people don't react to homeopathic products of any kind, not just homeopathic HGH oral sprays, and the science of homeopathy doesn't know why. That's just the way it is. Everybody is different and 2% of the population falls into this category. So we don't require any kind of explanation from you. We enjoy having happy customers who use our product and happy customers who are unable to use our product. Our no-questions-asked guarantee and fast response to a refund makes this so.</p>
<p class="bodytext">You don't need a return authorization number. We like to keep it simple. Please, though, make sure at least your name and address are on the inside of the package as sometimes the returned bottles get separated from the packaging. If you can include your order number that will streamline and speed the process but it's not necessary.</p>
<p class="bodytext">You do have to pay for the shipping back to us, less than $5, but the complete amount of the purchase, including shipping to you, is refunded. The refund usually takes from 1-3 days to appear on your statement and if we have a valid email we will notify you of the refund.</p>
<p class="bodytext">Why do we require that you send the bottles back? Well, unfortunately, there is a pretty common internet scam in which people buy products, resell them new, and then demand a refund. Pretty amazing, huh? We were victims of this scam when we first started out: you live and learn! So this policy keeps the scammers away.</p>
        <p align="center" class="toplinks">Other HGH Guarantees</p>
<p class="bodytext">1. We ship your order within 24 hours of receiving it.</p>
<p class="bodytext">2. We are not a Multi-Level Marketing company and never intend to be at any point in the future.</p>
<p class="bodytext">3. Each purchase you make is a stand alone purchase. Unauthorized recurring charges will never happen.</p>
<p class="bodytext">4. Your email address, your shipping address, and your phone number will never be used for any solicitation by us or by anybody else as we do not sell this information. We only email you if there is a problem with your order.</p>
