BOE Enterprise XI v 3.1 SDK

We are upgrading from BOE XI v1 to XI v3.1. We use a lot of "classic" asp code to access our reports over the web. So far, I have not seen any SDK documentation for asp applications with this latest version of BOE. can I still use my classic asp code? If so, where can I find documentation?

Hello Ted, could you please let me know how i can install COM API SDK for my ASP application, i have logged an issue in this forum as well

  • Using BOE Enterprise Scheduler with Sap BODI?

    Hi,
I am under the impression that you can use the BOE Enterprise Scheduler to schedule BODS jobs. Can you also use the BOE Enterprise Scheduler to schedule BODI jobs? Is there someplace I can get some documentation on how to integrate the BOE Scheduler with BODI and/or BODS? I haven't been able to find any yet...
    Thanks in advance!

  • BOE 3.1 Service Pack 2 SDK changes

We are getting ready to install Service Pack 2 in our BOE 3.1 environment.  In a test VM I have installed the SP and noticed that the dsws.jar files that are in the SDK directory (common\4.0\java\lib) are, in general, older than the dsws..jar file that are in webapps\dswsbobje\WEB-INF\lib directory.  Does this mean that the SDK did not get updated when the service pack was installed?  Can we continue to use the older files?

    Hi Ted,
my post is about the same subject - BOE 3.1 SP2 SDK changes
    >> PromptsUtil isn't deprecated for BusinessObjects Enterprise SDK.
PromptsUtil is marked as deprecated in 3.1 SP2 SDK. This is what I see in eclipse:
    @deprecated Class PromptsUtil is deprecated
    public class PromptsUtil

  • BOE Enterprise XI v 3.1 Upgrade

When doing an simple upgrade from BOE XI to BOE XI 3.1, is it necceesary to stop all of the XI services first. According to the Upgrade Guide it is neccessarry to stop the web server but I do not see anything about stopping the BOE services (FileStore Input, CMC, etc)

The patch installer will send a stop command to all services except the web/app servers.
Since it's just as easy to stop all servers as just the web/app from the CCM I would reccommend stopping everything, verifying that none of the services are left running in task manager or process explorer, then install the patch.
The reasoning is if a process hangs the patch installer would continue. It's just an extra step to insure a safe install. Also stopping backup software, and virus scanners can help speed things up as well. It's up to you though.

  • Java Portal and BOE Enterprise installed on Windows

    Hi,
    New System install
2 - CMS installs with supporting services (page, cache, job, etc) are all installed on a windows 2003 server
2 Web Component adapters, including .net SDK are installed on the web server - Windows 2003 Server with IIS
My .net application are all using the sdks and are calling opendocument to view reports.  Everything is good here.
I have one application that was built in house and is in Java and uses portal/portlets.  I dont know much about Java and how this was done but in the current evnironment all the services were installed on solaris.
I have been asked to figure this out since the original Server architect is no longer here the java developer that created the portlet is no longer here.
Can you guys/gals point me in the right direction to get this last application working.
    THanks

Do I deploy businessobjectsportal.war  on the application that has the portal?
Or does this need to be on the servers where BO is installed?
Please help if you can.  thanks

  • Known Issue: Do not install Visual Studio Express 2015 for Windows 10 on a Machine with Visual Studio Community, Professional, or Enterprise (Windows 10 Insider Preview SDK and tools, April 2015 release)

If you install Visual Studio Express 2015 for Windows 10 on a machine with Visual Studio 2015 Community, Professional, or Enterprise, these editions will not work as expected.

To resolve this, uninstall Visual Studio Express 2015 for Windows 10. Then, repair Visual Studio Community, Professional, or Enterprise.

  • PDF version from BOE SDK

    Hi,
We have installed BOE 4.0 and 32 bit SDK to interact with the app server. When we create PDF from crystal reports it is giving the PDF default version 1.7.
Is there any way to change the PDF version to 1.5 hence our  dependent systems does not have the capability to read the PDF version 1.7
    Thanks for your help.
    FebiginR

There is no way to change the version of the PDF the SDK or the CR designer export.

  • Simple sample code to display a Crystal Report from Crystal Enterprise?

I am looking for a sample application that will "simply" view a report stored on our Crystal Enterprise server. I have looked at "boesdk_net_samples_12.zip", but that isn't really what I am looking for. And, the "CrystalReportViewer" and "CrystalReportSource" add ins for Visual Studio seem to only work with a "local" file (instead of one Managed or UnManaged on our Crystal Enterprise server).
Can anyone point me to the right place? (Navigating the SAP site is so damn confusing!)

    Hi Shayne,
You are not clear on how you will know which report you want and for which user? You can query the CMS database for the user and get all of their reports but without knowing which report object ID to get you will need to have the user select one. Unless you simply assume you want the last one, but if you don't give them a choice and they miss one day, or what ever your parameter is to select, there will be no way to get back to that report.
For sample code on how to query the BOE Server look in the Enterpise SDK samples. You do need to use managed code. I don't suggest going into the FRS\output folder to use unmanaged reporting. There are a lot of folders created and it's easier to simply query the CMS database to get the latest instance.
Since you have BOE you should also have a support contract. I suggest you log a case on line in Service Market Place and get a dedicated Engineer to assist you.
This may be simply easier for you to use the Personal Favorites folder of the user so they can browse all report instances belonging to them. I suggest you talk to the BOE Administrator for more info on what BOE is capable of doing. what you want is fairly easy to manage with Enterprise itself.
    Thank you
    Don

Our code is similar to what you have, but if we don't use the .refresh command, the new values are not populated on the report. Do you have any idea why? Our issue is that when it schedueles the report, it doesn't return quickly. It waits until the report is done.  Here is our code:

  • Error deploying Crystal Report XI R2 to Enterprise - Failed to read paramet

Error deploying Crystal Report XI R2 to Enterprise - Failed to read parameter object.
I know this issue has been addressed several times and the solution recommended was to install Service Pack 2. I have done that. It started working for me too; however recently I got some error saying some UDF***.DLL is missing. I re-installed Crystal Reports XI R2 and Service Pack 2. Unfortunately though, this error is back. I have restarted the machine n number of times but keep on getting this error.
My report file has dynamic parameters defined through command object (SQL Query). My understanding is that once I publish the report to BoE Enterprise, BO will create LOVs and BV's in the repository. Now that is not happening.
has any one else had this issue before and resolved it?
    Thanks

  • BOE XI R2 compatibility with BI 7.0

    Hi Experts,
My company has BOE XI R2 for Windows SP2 and it is currently working with SAP BW 3.5. Now, we are upgrading our BW 3.5 to BI 7.0.
In this case, Can anyone please let me know if the BOE XI R2 is compatible with BI 7.0? Do we need to install any service packs or apply any hot fixes?
    Thanks,
    Smruti

    Hi,
SAP NetWeaver BI 7 (at least BASIS level 10, ABA level 10, BW level 10) is supported by BOE XI R2. You have to make sure though that you have installed the latest Service Pack (5) and Fix Pack (5.1) for BOE Enterprise XI R2 and the integration Kit for SAP XI R2.
You can take a look at [http://service.sap.com/bosap-support] under Documentation / Supported Platforms for more information.

  • Can you use Crystal Reports for Enterprise to connect to BOE4 over the web?

    Hello,
When I use Crystal Reports for Enterprise in BI Launchpad when I am connected on the LAN network it works.
If I connect via the internet, it doesn't.
I wanted to know if Crystal Reports for Enterprise only works if you are connected to Business Enterprise 4.0 on a LAN network and if it's not designed to work remotely, aka via the internet connection, like you can with Webi?
    regards
    Janetta

    Hello,
We installed BOE4 on the server, it runs perfectly, no issues.
Install Crystal Reports for Enterprise on a laptop. It's the latest one as I checked to see if there's any later versions or patches.
I am able to log into the BOE Enterprise system as administrator.
Namely I have setup the Server connections per the following:
    Server Name:   <IP address>
The check box for SSL is unchecked.
    Server Port Number:   nnnn
    Server Context:  /dswsbobje
System display name:   <my server> External Connection
    User Name : Administrator
    It connects successfully.
I then go and create a report against a Universe that I can see listed on my BOE 4 server.
It then comes up with this error message:
"Unable to Logon: There is a problem logging on to SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise.
Please check your logon credentials and make sure your nework is properly configured before trying again.
If problems persist please contact your Administrator."
    Architecture:
BOE 4 sits on Windows 2008 Server SP2
Laptops tried it on are Windows Vista and Windows 2003 Std.
Thanks for looking into this for me.

  • BO 4.1 Universe Metadata extraction using Java SL SDK

We are building an application using the SL SDK and are trying to extract the metadata from the Universe (like list of classes, dimensions, measures etc). We are able to connect to the server, retrieve the universe to the local machine; however, when we try to load the retreived local universe, we are facing an excception and not sure on how to proceed on the same.

    Hi Prithvi,
We are trying to extract metadata through java sdk from BO 4.1,we had been able to extract the data upto class level but can not proceed further to extract data related to the objects such as "measures,"dimensions","filters",etc from a class as we can't find suitable methods to do so.Please have a look to the following code snippet:-
RelationalBusinessLayer businessLayer = (RelationalBusinessLayer) local.load("D:\\Universe\\retrieval-2014-03-17-15-47-46\\eFashion4.blx");    //loading local blx file
    RootFolder rf =businessLayer.getRootFolder();
    List<BlItem> getchildren=rf.getChildren();   //would return list of classes
Now we intend to extract objects(filters, dimensions, measures) from each of these BlItems.
    Please help.

  • How to Uninstall Java SDK Eval Package?

First, some background info: I am not a Java programmer, but I need to have the Java SDK v1.4.1 (or later) installed on my Solaris 8 Sparc platform in order to be able to run some 3rd-party web-based database software tools.
I accidentally installed the 'evaluation' Enterprise version of the Java SDK v1.4.1. I did not uninstall the underlying 1.2.1_04 JDK, so that still shows up when I run the "java -version" command, probably because I did not use the 'pkgadd' utility to add the eval SDK. Now I want to erase the evalware, but I'm afraid I might clobber something else in the process. How do I go about uninstalling the eval SDK?

    Thx for your answer...
I want to have the installation of Java SDK 1.5.0_14 in a different location ?
Can I just move the folder ?
But I guess it's better to do uninstall and re-install it ?
    Right ?
Thx in advance guys... (I'm not yet worked in in this stuff...)
