Bold text in toc won't display

I've formatted my toc to display titles as bold text but for some reason it will not display all titles as bold text. By the way, it's russian and all lower headings in the screenshot should be bold. I know I have displayed a screenshot for a LOF but it goes for both TOC and LOF. I am aware of the difference in layout methods.

You might not think that the different steps you're using to format the generated entries would cause the difference, FrameMaker can have good reason for working differently.
Is there a reason for not formatting the prototype line in the LOF on the reference page, rather than on the body page - the same method you use for the TOC?
When working with FrameMaker's generated files, you need to be keenly aware of which file you're working with. I don't have FrameMaker available at the moment, but I believe it works something like this (it may have changed from older FrameMaker versions to newer ones:)
* When you create a new generated file FrameMaker creates the generated file's reference page and the corresponding reference page text flow; they are named for the kind of generated file, such as TOC, LOF, etc.
* I think the location of the reference page and its flow depend on whether you're generating from a stand-alone file, or from a file that belongs to a book. The reference page and flow may be created in the generated file, or in the source file, but not in both.
* In later FrameMaker versions, I believe the book file is more involved with the processing than in earlier versions. In the more-recent versions, I believe that the output of generated files is taken from the generated-file reference pages and flows in the first file in the book list.
* If there is a generated reference page and its flow in the source file, and also in the generated file, there's a possible precedence conflict over which settings control the output of the generated file. Formatting properties set in the higher-precedence file will be applied, and those in the lower-precedence file will be ignored.
Because the TOC is working correctly, follow the same procedure for the LOF. Verify that there reference page and flow are in the same file that works for the TOC - if the TOC reference page is in the TOC itself, then verify that the LOF reference page is in the LOF file, and verify that there's no LOF reference page in any of the source files in your book. If the TOC reference page is in the first file in the book and not in the TOC, then create the LOF the same way.

TOC Won't Display in WinHelp

I am updating a WinHelp project that was previously developed
in X3 but which I am now trying to update and compile in RoboHelp 7
for Word. The TOC won't display (i.e., the TOC navigation panel at
the left doesn't display) when the help is launched. When viewing
the TOC in the single panel window by clicking the Help Topics
button, the links do work. There is a CNT file. I tried deleting
the GID file (as suggested by Adobe), and using the old CNT file
that worked in the previous version of the project. Anyone else
experience this with RoboHelp 7?

We're getting the same issue here. We compile - looks great. We copy the hlp and cnt files to another computer and the TOC disappears. We're using RoboHelp for Word and have been since v5. Can anyone help on this? All topics are there; links work, graphics great, but the Table of Contents has vanished.
If I run the AutoGenerate TOC function, the TOC disappears completely from the system. Bear in mind, this is the same file we've been working from for the last 3 years and up until now has been working. We recently updated to v7 and upgraded again to v8 today.
I really appreciate any guidance anyone can give.

TOC - won't display Heading 2 entries

Hello,
I keep trying to generate a TOC with my Heading 1's and Heading 2's. The Heading 1 entries are created just fine, but the Heading 2 entries are just blank lines. A paragraph mark is placed, but no entry. Anyone eer had this problem?

Have you checked the reference pages?
If you don't spot anything there, could you share your reference page and perhaps the definitions for the level 2 heading to help us help you.

My iPhone 5 won't display smart text options.

My iPhone 5 won't display smart text. It did when I initially downloaded the new OS, now those options don't appear at all. Did I click something to make them disappear?
I went into Settings to see if there was a component of it within Messages. I don't see anything.

Layered text and graphic in Word won't display when converted to PDF

I have several simple shapes with text layered in front in my Word document. After they are converted to PDF using Acrobat XI, only the shape will display. I can tell the text is still there, because I can use my cursor tool to select it, but it won't display visually. It looks like it isn't there but it really is. One bit of text is even an internal link, and the link still works but I can't see the text I'm clicking on.
If anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate it.

Hi Lori - this was perfect! It was an issue with the layers being misordered. I used the Edit Text & Images tool listed under Tools > Content Editing, found the layers, then by right-clicking I was able to bring the text to the front and it all looks great now.
I would like to know why this happened, or if not why, how I could make sure it doesn't happen again. If there's a check box or other setting I could use to remove this problem that would be fantastic.

I am using cl_salv_table class. My requirement is to display few cells in bold based on some condition,
we can get the column using
gr_p_column ?= gr_p_columns->get_column( 'MENGE' ).
but how can we set bold text property to the cell?

Dynamic text won't display

I don't know if this is a bug. I have a movie that contains a
dynamic text. When I run it, the text displays fine. But when the
said movie is run through another movie clip (using loadMovie), the
dynamic text won't display. Any ideas why? Thank you.

Than again, it's a bug on your end :)
Dynamic text is a text container, it's to be use with
dynamically given data, from
source file or variable string on timeline. It's not meant to
be for regular text
display. You need to use Static text. The fact that you can
see it it's just flash
being tolerant but it only lasts for as long as the movie is
getting more complex.
You can get away with somethings even tho you should not be
using them, does not
mean they will work all the way. Dynamic text, as said above
is for text that comes
to flash from outside source and this is when it works best.

What computer operating system are you running the Premiere Elements 7 program?
Is this a "it worked before but not now" type of issue or "it never worked before"?
Where is the text not displaying correctly...in the opened Titler, in the disc menu window in the Create Menus section of the program, other, or everywhere?
Is your video card driver up to date according to the web site of the manufacturer of the video card?
You mention size and position. What about font type?
Also, please include:
a. computer resources description
b. properties of your source media
c. project preset
d. description of Timeline content and duration
Let us start here and then decide what next.

Uprgrad to ios7 calender won't display text entered. the appointment entered is there becauwse it alerts me to appointments entered

Calender won't display text entered for appointments.
The appointments are there as the phone alerts me as requested. Also the appointments are synced with icloud and Outlook on my computer.
Any appointments entered in computer do not show on phone but are there.

I've managed to fix this!
In case it's helpful to anyone encountering this problem, here's what I did.
I went into the preferences (through the Calendar app, not the System Preferences - didn't want to remove the entire account info, in case I encountered problems getting my email to link again), clicked on the Account tab and removed the Exchange account (by clicking the "-" (minus) sign below the listing of accounts). I then added an account (clicking the "+" sign) and re-entered the information. When asked if I wanted to add these settings for Mail and Contacts, I unclicked those options (bc they're already installed and work fine). Once I completed the information, I closed the settings window, and hit ⌘+R to refresh and all the Exchange appointments appeared.

N78 browser can't display bold text

I found a problem with my N78 phone. I used the Nokia 6110 Navigator to access the webmail and it used to display the new messages in bold. However, after I changed the phone to N78, it no longer able to display the new messages in bold.
I then write up a very simple HTML page to test the N78 built-in browser behaviour for bold text dislay and the result is negative. Both the normal text and bold text are displayed the same. Bold text are not bold when displayed in N78 browser.

Selective BOLD text in table

Hi guys,
I have report on Service Request Active reporting subject area. Standard table view with one additional column with custom text displayed using CASE...WHEN logic. This works perfectly fine.
What I need is to display the values being pulled to be displayed in BOLD (not the whole field just selective text). for this under column properties in Data Format tab i selected HTML and tried using <bold>text/column formula</bold> or <b'>text/column formula</b"'> or ['b]text[b'] (added a couple of ' here in the post to remove the forum's formatting) but nothing seems to work out. Can someone point out where to place the bold tags and the format so that i can get this working

How would I use conditional formatting?
Let's say I've given the field a custom heading of Issue - Owner (combination of values from 2 separate fields based on certain CASE logic). I go to the Properties>Conditional Format tab> I click on Add Condition and it shows the list of columns. I select Issue - Owner. It throws up the combined values as possible answers which would be incorrect.
The 2 columns used to combine this are not used in the report, so i cannot use that to filter and if i do add those columns then also i do not get the correct filter settings.
I have a complete sentece displayed in that column - part of it is static text that i have entered and part of it is the column formula which displays various picklist values based on the logic.
I need some words of the static text and some of the formula highlighted.
for e.g. this is displayed in the column
The Issue 1 is Integration and Issue Owner is John Doe
Issue 1 is static text while John Doe is value returned based on CASE logic
I need 2 separate types of data displaed in bold

Image with foreign characters in name won't display

I have an image on my drive whose name has foreign characters ("c�pia de frente.jpg"). To display the image my JSP reads the image name from the database and generates the following html:
<img src="../pictures/c�pia de frente.jpg">The page then displays a broken image icon for this image. Images in the same list which do not have foreign chars get displayed accurately. When I choose "show image.." in my browser I see that the image name has been rewritten into the following: c%C3%B3pia%20de%20frente.jpg. The rewriting that will display the image is instead c%F3pia%20de%20frente.jpg. I found the correct rewriting on another of my JSP where the image with the foreign chars actually gets displayed correctly although the code to generate the html is the same on both pages and looks something like this (simplified):

Thanks, but it doesn't seem necessary to replace foreign characters. It works without replacing in one place but not in another which is confusing. I think it is something with the enconding but can't see what the difference is between the working and non-working code. In both pages I have put <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">I'd greatly appreciate any more suggestions to solve this problem.

Yahoo's sign-in seal won't display in Firefox but will in I.E.

My Yahoo sign-in seal worked fine 'til this morning. It'll change the color but won't display the same or new text. Yahoo tech said it's a Firefox problem because it works in Internet Explorer. He dbl-checked that I wasn't on a phishing site.
Any ideas to correct this?

SWF Won't Display in RoboHelp Project

Hi,
I have a RoboHelp 9 HTML project that has a number of SWF files embedded in a number of the pages. The problem is the SWF won't display on the HTML page. The SWF files are published to version 11.x. The HTML pages work fine on my computer but I have Robohelp and Flash Pro installed. When I take it to any other computer in my office, the HTML pages load with no problem but the SWF files will not load onto the pages. Any help is appreciated.

Format bold text in field and putting some text on new line - Help!

I am lost. I found the rich text formating item to click. But after that, I don't know what to do next. I want to bold some characters and I want some reponses on separate lines as I asked previously. As to spans and the commands - I have no programming experience. I have just been using what George has given me. It has worked well, but I just need the bold text in some of the field text to be printed and I need some items to be on separate lines. But I have no idea where to put the information you are saying about spans and I do not know the script to use to bold text or to start text on new line. Am I to insert it in the calculation box of the text box? Sorry to be so lame, but I am void in programming skills. Help!
For example, here is the script. In aISOreq{0], if I want to bold "Patter#1 Check:", where do I put the span and what script do I use to say to bold it.   Could you give me an example, please. Also, if I want to put "a. Medications on weekend?" on one line and "b. Activities on weekends? Types of activities? Supervision? Look at the reference of the richValue property of the Field object. It contains a couple of examples of how it should be done. Also read the reference of the Span object.
